Maybe this throat condition will keep ol’ John from putting his foot in his mouth so much… John Mayer has been diagnosed with granuloma, a serious throat condition that has forced him to cancel all plans to sing in the near future. In a post on his blog, the guitarist explained that he has spent several months monitoring his condition, but has been advised by doctors to bow out of planned appearances at the iheartradio Music Festival in Las Vegas and an appearance with Tony Bennett in Los Angeles. Mayer’s condition has also set back work on his forthcoming album. “Born and Raised is complete as far as music recording, song selection, and in some cases mixing, but because of this condition I couldn’t finish singing on several of the tracks,” he wrote on his blog. “This means the record will be released next year instead of this fall or winter.” Mayer is hopeful that this illness is only a temporary issue. “I’m not sure how long or short a period of time it will be,” he wrote. “I’ve got the best doctors in the country looking after me and I will be singing and touring again as soon as I get the all-clear. Song title became a Twitter trend following Rihanna’s announcement. As she gears up for the release of her sixth album later this year, the Loud singer has released the name of her next single. On Monday, Rihanna confirmed the name of the first single off her forthcoming album, tweeting , “NP: “WE FOUND LOVE.” Soon after she announced the name of the song, it became a Twitter trend, to which the singer responded , “We in dis bitch! … ‘We Found Love’ is trending WORLDWIDE…!” A rep for the singer confirmed to Rapup.com that the Calvin Harris-produced song will hit radio on October 11. Harris toured with Rihanna on a leg of her Loud outing earlier this summer. “Calvin is the perfect fit for the Loud tour. He is going to bring something unique and fun for the fans,” Rihanna said at the time, according to JustJared.com . Last week, Rihanna announced that her “GangstaR”-fied next album would be heavily influenced by club music, sharing on Twitter, “You KNOW how I been lovin Dubstep since Rated R .” Collaborators for the forthcoming project began dishing details on the LP months ago. Back in July, producer Verse Simmonds , who worked on Rihanna’s reggae-infused hit “Man Down,” talked to MTV News’ Mixtape Daily about the album’s progress. “From what I understand, she’s closing the album up now, and we did two records for her that she really, really loved, and I’m really excited about them as well,” Simmonds said. “They are records that we wrote and produced as the Jugganauts.” Simmonds admitted that he was “99.999 percent” sure that his Jugganauts’ contributions will make the final cut, adding that his tunes on the LP will not sound similar to “Man Down.” But Rihanna isn’t keeping all the magic to herself. She’s also set to appear on Coldplay’s next album, Mylo Xyloto , on the track “Princess of China.” “Well, her bit on our record is my favorite bit … when the song came out, it sort of asked for her to be on it. And I think at this point, we have nothing to lose, and so we’ve been trying some new things and trying to break down the perceived boundaries between different types of music,” Chris Martin explained. “Because from where we’re sitting, it seems like you can try and sound any way you like nowadays. Pop star credits R&B group’s albums with teaching him how to sing. Via Twitter, Bieber and his team have indicated that Sean Kingston and Taylor Swift have recorded songs with him, and on Tuesday, he tweeted that Boyz II Men are joining the mix. “2day i woke up and realized that the group that made me want to sing @BoyzIIMen are now on the christmas album singing with me. #DREAMBIG,” Bieber wrote . “i used 2 listen to their music and practice the runs. that is how i learned how to sing. now im in the studio with them making music 2gether. “im telling you…never say never…never stop dreaming….never give up,” he continued. “#DREAMBIG. @BoyzIIMen Im honored and blessed. thank u.” The love didn’t end there. Members of the group also took to Twitter to give the 17-year-old some props for extending an invitation to them to work with him on their album. “it was a pleasure! Remember what we talked about in the studio Lil bro! Let’s do it again sooner than later!! … We got love for u lil bro!! Thank YOU, and Thanx for everything u do for ur fans!! I KNOW they appreciate it.” It’s not the first time Bieber and the Boyz have worked together. The iconic ’90s R&B group appeared in his 3-D flick, “Never Say Never,” earlier this year. When the film was released back in March, the singer cited the group as one of his favorite musical influences. “My fans inspire me, as well as my mom inspires me and my dad and God inspires me,” he said. “I’ve looked up to a lot of musicians, like Michael Jackson and Boyz II Men. … I met Boyz II Men. There were helicopters flying, so you couldn’t really hear that much. As everyone got to see her at different moments, when she walked by, I was so happy for her.” The wedding, which included A-list guests like Lindsay Lohan and Ryan Seacrest and an over-the-top party, looked exactly how Cheban imagined it would. “I knew it was going to be that: lots of helicopters, lots of celebrities, lots of amazing food and dancing and performances. It was great,” recalled the star of “The Spin Crowd,” which Kardashian produced. “It was really a major, major, major wedding.” Now that Cheban has rested up post-party, he’s ready to start on a slew of new campaigns, including acting as the face of Wodka vodka and working with Kim again to develop some new TV shows. “I will definitely be doing a lot of filming in the future, and I’m also developing shows. I’m developing a competition show, which I’m excited about. It’s very, very cool, and I’m doing that with Kim as well,” he teased of the forthcoming project with his bestie. “TV’s definitely in the future.” So what’s it like to work with Kim and be her pal? “It’s very professional,” he revealed. “When it’s work time, we’re on it.
