Aubrey O’Day Reveals Name Of Oxygen Reality Show

The singer took to Twitter on New Year’s to make the announcement, two days after a clip of her new song hit the Internet. By James Dinh Aubrey O’Day Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Since her headline-making photo spread for Playboy and her Las Vegas “Peepshow” production , Aubrey O’Day has been remaining quiet as she conjures up plans for a comeback. And with the help of her forthcoming Oxygen reality show , the former Danity Kane singer is intent on showcasing her return to the music scene. Perhaps taking a page from Lady Gaga , the starlet took to Twitter on New Year’s Day to make a big announcement about her new series. “OH My lovely fans… My reality show on Oxygen is called ‘All About Aubrey’!” she tweeted shortly after midnight. With the reality show airing in the coming months, fans can expect to hear lots of new music from the 26-year-old songstress. Her latest musical offering to hit the Internet is sure to make Danity Kane fans squirm, as O’Day has reunited with her former bandmate Aundrea Fimbres for a duet called “Ego Trippin.” A clip of the tune hit the Internet on Thursday. On the retro-sounding number, the “Aubrea” duo team up for some girl power as they take a few stabs at their self-absorbed boyfriends. “Your ego is trippin/ I think you need to bring it down (Turn your ego down)/ Your ego is trippin/ That’s why I don’t want you around (I don’t want you around),” the gals sing together. When MTV News caught up with Ms. O’Day back in October , the singer admitted that viewers can expect to see her in her always honest and blunt glory on the reality series. “Well, Oxygen’s motto is living out loud, so I would say you’re going to see Aubrey O’Day living out loud,” she explained. “I don’t think I’ve not done that, but obviously my voice is a bit outspoken, and I really don’t play by anyone’s rules, so I think you’ll see a lot of that rebellious tendency that I have.” Are you excited to watch ‘All About Aubrey’ and hear more new music from the singer? ‘Glee’ Production Shut Down By Tonsillitis

Entertainment Weekly reports that an outbreak among castmembers has halted production until Monday. By Mawuse Ziegbe The cast of “Glee” Photo: FOX The cast of “Glee” won’t be belting out any big numbers this weekend. According to Entertainment Weekly, production Friday on the hit show was put on hold until Monday due to an outbreak of tonsillitis among its crooning castmembers. The crew was reportedly toiling away on a musical number slated to appear on an episode following the Super Bowl in February. Although EW didn’t specify which stars were ailing, Dianna Agron blogged about laid up in bed with an illness. “Note to self…should have gotten a flu shot,” she wrote Friday. “In bed, hoping that medicine, soup, my computer and a marathon of movies will be the cure.” The break will be brief, however, as the show is expected to resume production on Monday. Details about the forthcoming Super Bowl episode have been trickling out recently. The “Glee” cast will reportedly take on Michael Jackson’s game-changing smash “Thriller” and mash up the track with another soon-to-be-revealed hit. Jams from the Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry and Lady Antebellum will also be revamped by the McKinley High kids. A recent on-set snap of Lea Michele may also give another clue about the upcoming episode. Michele, who plays songbird Rachel Berry , was shot decked out in football gear earlier this week. In August Michele revealed her dream guest star for the Super Bowl episode: Justin Timberlake . “I think they are saving Justin Timberlake for the Super Bowl episode,” Michele told The Hollywood Reporter. “They have to be, because he is so perfect for our show. He has to be on it! When I met Jessica Biel, like a loser, I asked her to tell Justin to come on our show. [Laughs.] She was a little taken aback and said, ‘Um, OK. I’ll tell him.’ ” Are you looking forward to the post-Super Bowl “Glee” episode? Let us know in the comments! Related Videos Musical ‘Glee-Caps’ Of Season Two Related Photos The Year In ‘Glee’

Amber Heard Comes Out As Lesbian At GLAAD Event

‘The injustice of people staying in the closet is more than I can bear with a clear conscience,’ actress says. By Jocelyn Vena Amber Heard Photo: Todd Williamson/ WireImage Amber Heard is a rising Hollywood star thanks to roles in flicks like “Zombieland,” “The Stepfather,” “Pineapple Express” and the forthcoming Johnny Depp flick, “The Rum Diary.” But it’s her personal life that’s making headlines at the moment after the actress recently opened up about being a lesbian. The actress and her girlfriend, Tasya van Ree, walked the red carpet together at the GLAAD 25th anniversary party in Hollywood on Friday, making her sexuality public. She spoke about the decision to AfterEllen.com , saying, “I’m honored to be a part of GLAAD. I’ve long been a fan and long wanted to be a part of an organization as powerful, as influential and as important as GLAAD. I am acutely aware of the role that the media plays in influencing public opinion and influencing society, and with that awareness comes the burden of responsibility.” The actress went on to explain that her decision to come out has a lot to do with the fact that she doesn’t want anyone to feel like their sexuality is something to be ashamed of. “It’s hard,” she admitted. “I think GLAAD is one of the many reasons that I, as a 24-year-old, can come out. I think that organizations like GLAAD make that possible, because if it weren’t for opinions being changed, people being influenced, people being engaged to do the right thing, then there would be no prerogative for anyone to come out. Like I said, I can’t be a part of the problem. I hate the idea of a label just as much as anyone else, but I’m with who I’m with, I love who I love and I’m if not a better actress than I was yesterday and my personal life should have no effect on that. “I think that the injustice of people staying in the closet is more than I can bear with a clear conscience, and I couldn’t sleep at night if I was a part of that problem, if I was part of the lies,” she added. She then took a moment to praise her photographer girlfriend. “She’s so beautiful,” she gushed. “I mean, you’d have to be crazy not to want to go out with her!” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Jennifer Lopez Dishes On ‘Most Fascinating People’ Interview With Barbara Walters

Star credits ‘American Idol’ gig, new music and motherhood with landing her a spot on annual list. By James Dinh Jennifer Lopez Photo: WireImage Thanks to the upcoming season of “American Idol,” an impending new album and recently announced endorsement deals, Jennifer Lopez ‘s career is seeing a resurgence. So it’s no surprise that the pop star, who spent recent years lying low to raise her twins alongside husband Marc Anthony, nabbed a spot on Barbara Walters’ “10 Most Fascinating People of 2010” list. Speaking with WWD , Lopez credited her inclusion on the celeb hot list to a combination of personal and professional endeavors including “the ‘American Idol’ [deal to appear as a judge] and also being a mom and entering back in the scene with the album.” The singer also admitted that she felt the pressure from the news correspondent during the interview, which airs Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC. WWD joked with the singer/actress about whether Walters asked her questions like “What kind of tree are you?” She replied, “She didn’t ask me that, but she did ask me some kind of an abstract question like that, where I was like, ‘You’re Barbara Walter-ing me right now!’ ” Lopez, who joins Steven Tyler on the “Idol” judging panel this season, has also been chosen as the new face for L’Or

Lady Gaga Says Born This Way Will Be ‘Greatest Album Of This Decade’

Singer also says there may be up to 20 new songs on the new album. By James Dinh Lady Gaga Photo: Paul Morigi/ WireImage It has been months since Lady Gaga first started hyping her forthcoming album, Born This Way , and the pop visionary recently raised the stakes. During a Monster Ball tour performance in Poland on Friday, the always bold singer promised fans that she’d deliver “the greatest album of this decade,” with possibly up to 20 new tracks. She also revealed that Born This Way doesn’t follow current trends. “I promise you, I’ll never let you down. And not for nothing: The album’s finished and it’s f—ing really good,” Gaga tearfully told the audience , who simultaneous held up signs that read “Born This Way” backward. “So whatever this is, whatever you just did for all of us … I promise to give you the greatest album of this decade, just for you.” The singer, who is prepping a promotional campaign for the album, also touched base on what sounds like a possible dig at her pop competitors, saying, “The funny thing is that some people have reduced freedom to a brand. They think that it’s trendy now to be free. They think it’s trendy to be excited about your identity. When in truth, there is nothing trendy about Born This Way . ” Describing the new album as “a spirit” and “this connection that we all share,” the pop star confessed that her new music “is something so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or an outfit, or a f—ing meat dress. … Born This Way is about what keeps us up at night and what makes us afraid.” Gaga isn’t the only who has been talking up the new material, as everyone from the singer’s manager , Akon , Elton John and Monster Ball opening act Semi Precious Weapons have also gushed about the album. While the songstress told the crowd that the LP will consist of mostly “f—ing sledge-hammering dance,” she’s still unsure of the length of Born This Way, but plans to give fans as much music as possible. “I’m still deciding, the album could be longer than you would imagine … I’m not sure,” she said. “I can’t decide, really, because I think that times are different, you know. It used to be kind of a faux pas to put out too much music on your album, but I feel like you guys deserve all of the records I do, ’cause I work hard on them. So who knows, you might get, like, 20 new Gaga songs .” Do you think Gaga’s new album will live up to her promise? Share your thoughts in the comments. John Forte To Chart His Spectacular Rise And Fall In Memoir

Onetime Fugees producer/MC tells MixtapeDaily book will ‘revisit what it was like to be on top of the world and [then] buried beneath the world.’ By Jayson Rodriguez John Forte Photo: MTV News Cornerstone Credentials: John Forte No disrespect to Jay-Z or Trick Daddy, but if there’s a rapper who really needs to put pen to pad to write a book about his life, it’s John Forte. In the years leading up to his music industry success, the former Fugees affiliate lived a charmed life, overcoming an impoverished childhood and going on to enjoy the privilege and opportunities that came with an elite private school education. That all came to a crashing halt, however, when in 2000 he was arrested at an airport after authorities discovered he was carrying $1.4 million worth of cocaine in a briefcase. He began serving a 14-year sentence in 2001, but the term was commuted when outgoing President George W. Bush pardoned him in 2008. Now Forte plans to open up about the dark period in his life. “It’s a pretty uncomfortable thing for me to do,” Forte recently told Mixtape Daily about his forthcoming book, to be published by Simon & Schuster. “In order for me to tell this story the right way and to do it justice, I have to relive this moment. Yes, it’s cathartic, but also to have this discipline to sit still and to revisit what it was like to be on top of the world and be buried beneath the world.” Since being released from prison, Forte has mostly set music aside. While he’s still working on material, he decided he had to learn how to exist as a free man before returning to the scene that once made him, as he put it, a “vampire.” “I think there was an expectation for me to come home and for me to cash in on the credibility factor,” Forte explained. “I was real. I was thorough. I did this. That wasn’t impressive to me. I went on a journey. I felt like I went all around the world, even though I was sitting still. I got to a pretty comfortable place in my headspace and my spirituality — that was still removed from society. So I had to come home and make sure I was still in tune with what was happening here.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Related Artists John Forte

Journos Slam Liberal ‘Pro-Israel’ Group for Lying About Soros Money

You know things are bad when a liberal organization loses the journalists. On Friday, the Washington Times reported that the dovish “pro-Israel” group J Street had taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from controversial liberal philanthropist George Soros, after the organization had denied for years that Soros was a donor. But instead of ‘fessing up immediately to its true funding sources, a panicked J Street public relations team kept misleading the media in the hours before the Washington Times story broke – and appeared to anger some formerly-sympathetic reporters along the way. “A set of half-truths, non-truths and ambiguities from J Street lead a reasonable person to conclude that the group tried to conceal that George Soros has been one of its largest donors for years, and to falsely claim that it had been ‘open’ about those donations over the past three years,” wrote The Atlantic reporter Chris Good on Friday, noting that J Street officials had lied to him earlier that day. Aware that the Washington Times story was about to be published, J Street had contacted The Atlantic’s Good on Friday morning and offered him an exclusive on the group’s growing “fundraising momentum.” A spokesperson for J Street told Good that the group accepted donations from Soros, and that it had always been open about this source of funding. Good initially wrote a favorable article on the organization’s uptick in donations, but after reading the Washington Times story he issued a massive correction and admitted that J Street had misled him that very morning. “J Street also seemed to distort the fact that it received a large contribution from a donor in Hong Kong. Some of this happened on the phone with me earlier today,” Good wrote. Veteran liberal reporter James Besser, who is one of the most influential and well-respected journalists in Jewish media, also had some harsh criticism for the organization. “I was one of the many journalists who asked [J Street] the question [about Soros funding] – and received in return something significantly less than the truth. Okay, it was a lie,” wrote Besser in a stinging rebuke of J Street in The Jewish Week. “[T]here’s no way this doesn’t sow mistrust among commentators and reporters who write and speak about J Street, and who were repeatedly misled by its officials. J Street sought to create a climate of trust with a press corps that was being spun heavily by its opponents; this news undoes a lot of that effort.” The Jewish Telegraphic Agency’s Washington bureau chief Ron Kampeas, who regularly covers J Street, also echoed Besser’s critique. “On J Street, Jim Besser said it,” wrote Kampeas on his blog. “Sometimes, you wanna write something, but someone else says it just right.” J Street publicly denied to the media for years that it received money from Soros, who is a vocal anti-Zionist and a controversial figure in the Jewish community. J Street calls itself a grassroots “pro-Israel, pro-peace” organization that is funded by small donors in the Jewish community, though opponents have long claimed the group was tied to Soros and criticized it as anti-Israel. “We got tagged as having [Soros’] support without the benefit of actually getting funded!” J Street’s director Jeremy Ben-Ami told Moment magazine last March. In May, 2009, the Associated Press reported that “Ben-Ami says liberal philanthropist George Soros attended a 2006 meeting where ideas for such a group were discussed but bowed out immediately, worried his involvement would draw criticism.” And in a Jerusalem Post interview with Ben-Ami in April, 2009, Ruthie Blum Leibowitz reported that one of J Street’s “initial ideological supporters, George Soros, apparently backed out because he thought his reputation as a bankroller for groups that blame Israel and the US for the world’s ills might not be helpful to this particular organization.” On J Street’s own website, a section clarifying “Myths and Facts” about the group claimed that “George Soros very publicly stated his decision not to be engaged in J Street when it was launched – precisely out of fear that his involvement would be used against the organization…J Street’s Executive Director has stated many times that he would in fact be very pleased to have funding from Mr. Soros and the offer remains open to him to be a funder should he wish to support the effort.” The section, which was written in 2008, implied that Soros was not a donor. In a Huffington Post column on Saturday, Ben-Ami admitted that his group has taken money from Soros since Fall 2008.
