Gleebasing: Lady Gaga Meets Pseudo-Vampires

Let’s hear it for Ryan Murphy, who did the impossible in last night’s installment of Glee . He filmed the single best scene of Mike O’M alley’s career, produced a Grammy-worthy remix of an already Grammy-worthy song (“Bad Romance”) and convinced Cory Monteith to wear a rubber dress. Just give him his Emmy already. After the jump, Movieline assesses the highs and lows from last night’s episode and awards bonus points for the best Lady Gaga tribute costumes.

Rating Fox’s New Trailers: Yay or Nay?

Fox has released trailers for six of its new fall shows, and the series’ talking points scintillate: there’s the reappearance of Will Arnett, the comeback of Jon Voight, the next generation of Fox animation, and a new spin on the relationship comedy, among others. But not all of these offerings deliver on their promise, and Movieline’s breaking down each of the six trailers with a simple “yay” or “nay” vote, keeping these judgment calls as gladiatorial as possible. So, are these burgers well done or too pink for consumption?

Another 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Remake Planned

Since one big-budget remake of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea clearly isn’t enough, here comes another. Because, of course. After it was reported over the weekend that David Fincher was circling an adaptation of the Jules Verne classic for Disney, now comes word that Fox and Scott Free Productions have been planning their own take with help from a script by Clash of the Titans co-writer Travis Beacham (yes, that film did have a script). The studio wants the incredibly busy Timur Bekmambetov to direct, meaning this 20,000 Leagues will get made right around the time the Fincher-led version does: Never. [ THR ]

Fox Unveils Fall Schedule: Hope You Enjoy Glee

If you were hoping that Fox would do something fun and exciting with their fall schedule — like, for instance, moving Fringe out of the Thursdays-at-9 trench war and into the Lost -vacated Tuesdays-at-9 slot to capitalize on the mythology-heavy nature of the show — you’re out of luck. The network released its schedule today and it’s decidedly bland — unless you’re the kind of person who gets riled up by the fact that Glee is airing an hour earlier. Also, are you ready to hear Joe Buck promote Glee during the Super Bowl? Hopefully, since the network announced their breakout hit will get the coveted post-Super Bowl slot in February. After the jump, the complete fall and mid-season schedules.

Napolean Dynamite Getting Animated at Fox

Sweet! Yesssss! Or gosh! Insert whichever ironic exultation you want to borrow from Napolean Dynamite here: Fox has revealed it’s developing an animated adaptation of the indie sleeper hit. Director Jared Hess and stars Jon Heder and Efran Ramirez are all participating. Not much more is known at the moment, but the 10 or so hipsters who still have their “Vote For Pedro” T-shirts will no doubt be happy to have that fashion option back. [ The Live Feed ]
