My name is Carla, I’m 16 and I’ll always remember this day, April 8, 2013. I live in France. There were two dates in France so I could do the second date which was Strasbourg. I was very lucky to be able to also get a M&G! Arriving at the venue, I talked with some girls who had a meet and greet. Security finally came, we showed them our tickets, and identity papers. The security guards told us not to run but my legs wouldn’t listen. As soon as we got inside, we went to a table and got our meet and greet passes. We waited again for nearly 3 hours because Justin was late. We sat on the floor with my friend Sophia as opposed to other girls who all were standing. We wanted to save our energy for Justin. During the waiting process, a nice man from the security, Ryan, explained us some rules: “Do not kiss Justin. Do not hug Justin without asking him. Do not ask him for an autograph. Do not lose your M&G pass and wristband.” Dan Kanter also came see us. He took pictures with us and we told him to ask Justin if he could take off his sunglasses during the photos because we can’t see his beautiful eyes. Dan said he didn’t see Justin today so he didn’t know what he was wearing. Ryan then told us to go forward and put our gifts for Justin’s on a table. I saw a black curtain and I immediately saw some flashes. I was like, “What’s happening? It’s going so quickly.” I just had the time to hear the first girl on the queue scream, “He isn’t wearing his sun glasses!!” and I was so reassured. Then it was finally my turn! He also signed autographs, answered questions and followed some people on Twitter. Right before he left I asked him politely for a follow. He gave us little raffle tickets for a chance for us to win prizes. Then the meet and greet started and it went by so fast. Ryan was asking to make groups of six. I wanted to be next to Justin so I let people to go on and then it was my turn. I opened the curtains and Justin was wearing black and the curtains were black so I was like standing in the middle of the room looking for him haha. I waited a few seconds until he finished taking the picture with the people in front of me. I quickly went over to him and stood next to him. I put my arm around his back and the other on his abs. It was perfect! In a matter of days, A.J. Clemente has gone from reporting the news to being the news. The North Dakota anchor was fired after one broadcast due to an incident in which he uttered back-to-back curse words in his first moments on air. He was subsequently the subject of a David Letterman Top 10 list and he appeared this morning on Today . A.J. Clemente Curses on Air Clemente told Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie that watching the snafu was “gut-wrenching” and he makes no excuses for what happened. “It’s inexcusable, first, to even say those words,” he said. “Fireball shot came right out of my mouth.” A.J. also understands why he is now out of a job. “I fully expected that they would fire me,” he said. “I even called my news director after and apologized again. They did [what they had to do]. No animosity at all.” Clemente will be a guest on The Late Show this evening, and from there? He says he doesn’t have any exact professional plans. “I’m looking forward, moving forward,” he told the hosts. “You got to have a tough skin in this business, and it’s good to laugh at yourself.” Sounds like advice Lauer could benefit from as well.
The U.S. government is suing Lance Armstrong for $40 million. The banned cyclist, 41, is accused of violating his contract with his team and is said to have been “unjustly enriched” while cheating to win the Tour de France. That team? The U.S. Postal Service, which “paid about $40 million to sponsor the USPS racing team from 1998 to 2004,” court documents said. Armstrong admitted to doping during all of his seven Tour wins. The lawsuit also names former U.S. Postal Service team director Johan Bruyneel and team management company Tailwind Sports as co-defendants. Lance ended years of denial in a January interview with Oprah Winfrey in which he described doping as part of the process of winning the Tour. The U.S. government announced in February it would join the 2010 lawsuit filed by ex-USPS rider Floyd Landis, who himself admitted using drugs. Tuesday was the deadline for the DOJ to file its complaint. According to the suit, the USPS paid about $40 million to be the title sponsor of Lance Armstrong’s teams for six of his Tour de France victories. It added that Armstrong’s salary during that time, excluding bonuses, was $17.9 million – which the government wants to recoup on top of sponsorship funds. “Defendants were unjustly enriched to the extent of the payments and other benefits they received from the USPS, either directly or indirectly,” the complaint said. The government also asked for a jury trial.
