‘Jackass’ Star Ryan Dunn Remembered In MTV Special

One-hour show, airing November 28 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, will feature new footage of the late stuntman from his ‘Viva la Bam’ and ‘Jackass’ days. By James Dinh Ryan Dunn Photo: Jon Furniss/ WireImage As promised, the life of late “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn will be celebrated in a one-hour MTV special , airing Monday, November 28, at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, the network announced Thursday (November 17). The tribute to the stuntman, who died at age 34 in a Pennsylvania car crash in June, will give viewers an intimate look into Ryan’s life, from his early years in Ohio, to his antics with the Jackass crew, to his untimely death. Among the many close friends who will appear in the special are Johnny Knoxville, Rob Dyrdek, Wee Man, Chris Pontius, Jeff Tremaine and Bam Margera. Dunn’s fans will be able to catch never-before-seen footage of the star from his time on “Viva la Bam,” “Jackass” and much more. While Knoxville admitted that Dunn’s death is still “a surreal thing to undertake,” he explained his reasons for serving as one of the special’s executive producers, alongside Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze and Derek Freda. “I still can’t believe he’s gone but we wouldn’t trust anyone else with this, so we are doing the best we can for Ryan, his family, friends, and everyone who loved him,” Knoxville said in a statement. Van Toffler, president of Viacom’s Music Group, also shared his thoughts on the memorial special: “Weaving together footage of Ryan for this special reminds us all of what a special friend he was to so many. He is sorely missed by his MTV family and fans, but his mischievous, caring spirit lives on.” Before the tribute kicks off, MTV will air three episodes of the Dyrdek-hosted “Ridiculousness,” beginning at 9 p.m. After encore episodes featuring Knoxville and Tremaine, fans will be treated to a brand-new episode of the series, which features one of Dunn’s final television appearances. In the episode, the star highlights some of the Internet’s most entertaining viral videos with the help of Rob and friends Chanel and Sterling “Steelo” Brim. This isn’t the first time friends and family have come together to remember Dunn’s legacy . Shortly after his death, “Jackass” co-star Rick Kosick cut together a five-and-a-half-minute montage of the star’s most memorable moments in a clever yet emotional video set to Roger Alan Wade’s “The Light Outlives the Star.” Don’t miss the “Ryan Dunn Tribute Special,” airing Monday, November 28, at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. ‘X Factor’ Loses Stacy Francis As Astro Loses His Cool

‘I don’t want to perform for people who don’t want me here,’ mini-MC says after landing in the bottom two. By Adam Graham Stacy Francis on “X Factor” Photo: FOX Stacy Francis — the 42-year-old diva who once pleaded to Simon Cowell, “I don’t want to die with this music in me!” — was eliminated from “The X Factor” Thursday night (November 17). But the bigger story was 15-year-old hip-hop dynamo Astro , who found himself in the bottom two with Francis and was none too pleased with his fate. Asked to sing for his life in front of the judges, Astro nonchalantly strolled onto the stage and announced, “I really don’t wanna perform. I feel like it’s unnecessary.” He turned to his mentor, L.A. Reid: “But I’mma leave it up to you. You’re my mentor. Do you think I should perform?” Reid told Astro he had come a long way in the competition and that he should perform. Astro turned back and proceeded to give a halfhearted, visibly jaded performance of a song in which he talked about his experiences on the show. Francis, for her song, belted out “Amazing Grace.” When it came time for the judges to make their decision, Astro was scolded for his attitude by the panel, with Reid telling him, “You acted a little bit like a quitter, and it upset me.” But Cowell was the hardest on the Brooklyn MC — whom Rihanna once compared to “a mini J. Cole” — telling him, “I don’t like your attitude right now.” “Look at me, and think about your mum watching the show,” Cowell said to him. “Because you are showing disrespect to your mom. You are showing disrespect to the audience at home, and I don’t like people with this attitude.” Astro retorted, “No disrespect to you or this show, but I just feel like if you’re going to put me in the bottom two, I don’t want to perform for people who don’t want me here, you know what I’m saying? That’s it.” By this time, Astro was being showered with boos from the audience, and a tear that had welled up in his eye began to stream down his face. Cowell asked if he’d take the same attitude if put in the position again, and Astro apologized, telling him, “Honestly, man, it’s cool.” With the audience chanting, “Stacy! Stacy!” Cowell cast his deciding vote. “I really don’t want to do this,” he said, voting for Astro to stay, saying he thinks he had a better chance of winning the show and ultimately sending Francis packing with a 3-1 vote in favor of her ouster. (Nicole Scherzinger, Francis’ mentor, was the sole vote for her to remain.) Francis thanked the judges for her time on the show and took responsibility for her so-so rendition of Meat Loaf’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” the night prior, which was slammed by Cowell. “I don’t believe I did great last night. I go with that, and I have to suck up my pride and take responsibility for the performance I gave,” Francis said. “I just want to thank Simon Cowell for giving me a chance, because I’m 42 years old, and he allowed me to sing for the world week to week.” Earlier in the night, Paula Abdul — who had already seen two of her groups get kicked off the show — caught a break when she learned her sole remaining group in the competition, Lakoda Rayne, was voted through to next week. Upon hearing the news, Cowell looked as though William Hung just won a Grammy, while Abdul proudly crowed, “I told you so, I told you so!” During the commercial break following the announcement, Cowell tweeted, “How the hell did that happen?” The episode also featured a performance from Rihanna, who showcased her current Billboard chart-topping single “We Found Love.” While it was presented as live, the performance was taped following Wednesday’s episode. The top 10 contestants opened the show with a group rendition of Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” celebrating the week’s rock and roll theme . Joe Francis Denies Hitting Chick(s) at Mansion

Joe Francis is accused of assault by a female – what else is new – but insists he never laid a hand on a girl who says he got physical with her at his mansion. He says surveillance cameras will prove him right, too, as video captured a three-woman altercation at his home back in January – and he wasn’t involved. According to Francis, two of the girls were fighting each other and all three were escorted outta there for being unruly. There was no attack by Joe, period. The ladies told the police that Francis grabbed one of them by the throat and hair, and slammed her head into the tiled floor of his house – more than once. Francis was charged with one count of battery causing great bodily injury, but has fought it all the way, saying there isn’t even a tiled floor near the scene. Regardless, Pacific Community Police Station officials tell E! News he was booked on a misdemeanor false imprisonment charge and released today. The City Attorney who charged Francis at the time is currently prepping to run for D.A., and Joe believes that the entire case is politically motivated. It may very well be. He may very well be innocent. He remains a sleaze, however. Like it or not, that’s not going to help his credibility very much. [Photo: WENN.com]

Which of These Three Actors Makes the Most Believable Movie Blogger?

Today in news that doesn’t relate to Comic-Con: Deadline reports that Steve Carell, Jack Black and Nicolas Cage are in various stages of negotiations to star in Frank Or Francis for director and writer Charlie Kaufman. Details on the film are slim, but when it was first announced back in March , Frank Or Francis reportedly dealt with a filmmaker and the blogger “who takes delight in berating his cinematic talent.” (It sorta sounds like that movie Pitchfork that Jonah Hill was rumored for ; bloggers, they’re not just for blogs anymore!) Assuming Carell, Black and Cage sign on for Frank Or Francis — and assuming at least two of them are in talks for the lead roles — this news raises a fairly legitimate question: who among them is believable as a blogger?
