When Your Sister Listens To Her Mister More Than You

More here:

A few months ago, while on the coattails of summer’s craziness, I lived through a strange experience of friendship that left me to the tendency of some friends to take, take, take… and take. Call them what you may, I like to think of these types of relationships as “convenience friendships.” This particular story involves a man – a player – that came between a sister and me. It all began when a series of events led me to introduce two single friends, each from a separate corner of the lonely-hearts club. She, a dynamic sister with a bright future glazing in her horizon, sociable, a people-pleaser, ever-so insecure, met him, an attractive, slightly pretentious man, whose confidence, self-righteousness and charm could blow anyone’s pants off. I went along with the venture, trying my best to facilitate what was an unlikely combination. She had returned from abroad at the beginning of the year and was detached from the life she left behind. But I, like others in our friendship group, was excited to hear about her stories, supposing that her brilliant mind was ticking over with exciting plans and was full of stories about new people and far-away lands. On the other side of the equation, he and I had begun seeing each other quite often on the weekends, having a crazy time between us and with other frivolous friends. He spoke about his desire to calm down a little, to find someone with the prospect of longevity. So, when circumstances led them to meet, there was clear and open interest on both sides. As the weeks went by I stood on the sidelines answering the questions of one about the other and tried my best to bridge some of the obvious differences between them. But it appeared that nothing was going to work between them. He had told me that he had been sleeping around, and even took another sister home on an evening in which she had called me to chase information about where he was. This came in his relationship disclaimer, that so as long as there was no future between them, and the attempts to make something work had reached an expiry date, he was free to do as he wished and with whomever he pleased. She on the other hand was reappearing in my life quite sporadically to gain information about what he was doing, where he was and what I knew about him. It was strange because, aside from staying at my place when she first returned from abroad, I would only hear from her when she wanted something. It reached the point where I gathered that even she was aware of this, telling me one day “Let’s catch up soon, girl. I feel like I haven’t seen you at all.” I was not too concerned at this point; I was busy. But, it was all to boil over after one wild evening when he and I shared a kiss at a club. Having been told that nothing was going on between them, I fell to his charms and was one of two women to be swooned that evening with his kiss. I realized that what I had done was foul when I turned to see him with that another sister. Indignant, I left the club. The next day I spoke with him to clear the air, only to discover that he and my friend, she, were seeing each other that evening for round two. At this point my anger about having been used as a go-between-girl between two unmatched people had reached its climax. After months of being there for both of them, I was eventually pushed to redundancy, the friendships began to end and my interactions with both faded. I also can’t overlook the notion that I was slightly jealous. Two friends, who I had known for 2 years on separate grounds, had run off together and were leaving me behind. So one evening, I directed a comment to him, amongst friends, that questioned the worth of his friendship. Given how proactive he was in broadcasting to the world a sense of moral superiority and excellence in friendship, he took my criticism poorly and defensively. I considered him a dirty rat, so I didn’t care about how he reacted. But then, the following day, I received a phone call from her questioning me about the evening in which he and I had kissed. He had obviously told her to spite me and I imagined this was accompanied with the usual dialogue of “she must love me,” which he regularly uses to justify burnt bridges with women (those he burns with men are because they are jealous of his style and charm.) Cornered, I asked to meet with her the next day during my lunch break. She accepted but brought along a mutual friend so to avoid any conversation about what had happened. This was a clear indication she was not interested in hearing what I knew. I told her anyway. A week later, having boiled over in self-reflection, I sent her an SMS with a stern warning her to watch her mouth with other people. She had fragrantly spread the word amongst mutual friends that I was the saboteur between them as they went about sewing the seeds of their rock-sold connection. I doubted, at this point, that she believed me when I told her about him sleeping around. This sickened me in my self-righteousness because I knew they were having unprotected sex, for which he would take no responsibility. A typical player – selfish and irresponsible. The entire scenario left me feeling foolish and ashamed. Aside from considering him a friend of mine – an arrogant man with little no consideration of other people’s dignity – I had also fallen victim to subtle ways of a sister’s convenience friendship. In all of this, I did things I was not at all proud of. I was very wrong to have kissed him without appreciating fully that she still may have had feelings for him by virtue of not knowing he was sleeping around and meeting new women. Her interaction with me was so sporadic, and always so focused on her needs with him, that I was never given the opportunity to know that she was still pursuing him at that point. But, as they began seeing each other again, with talk of them moving in together, a common enemy for them both has been the best method to cover up their obvious differences. Ultimately, my former sister got what she wanted – to fill a void in her life with a charming man. My services to her have dried up and so too has the friendship. I scratch my head occasionally and wonder whether or not I should still care about her. But then I realize that it was a lesson learned for me and that so too will it be a lesson for her when she finally gets burned. And that is how one friendship of convenience reached its inevitable end. “I Love My Husband, But I Want His Friend & I’m Thinking Of Leaving With This Guy” Is It Possible To Re-Do Romance?

I’m Ellie, I’m 14 years old from Liverpool and…

I’m Ellie, I’m 14 years old from Liverpool and I’ve been a Belieber since the first time I saw Justin in 2009. Never in a million years did I think I’d become so obsessed, but I did! My love for him just grew and grew. First on the 5th of June 2010, Justin followed me on Twitter , at the time, it was the best moment of my entire life! Then on the 13th of November 2010, I bought tickets for the My World Tour, which was just indescribable! 10th of March, Justin stayed in the Beatles hotel in Liverpool and of course everyone found out and caused a riot outside. While I was outside, I met Dan Kanter, Ryan Good, saw Kenny, Alison and Alfredo. Later in the night, Justin came on his balcony and that was the first moment I’d ever seen him in real life. Everything around me just froze, it was like on big dream. Then the next day, 11th of March 2011 I went to the My World Tour, which was one of the most unreal nights of my entire LIFE, we was so close to the stage and everything was just perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing about it. Nothing will ever beat that feeling! When I got home from the concert, I just had to get tickets for another one, so I did! I got tickets for the 21st of March which was in Manchester which was again one of the best experiences of my life!! Once that night had ended, I had nothing to look forward to, but I never stopped believing that i’d meet Justin. Then on the 20th July 2011 Justin Dm’ed me!!! My heart dropped when I opened the message and I just burst into tears. After that day I still believed I would meet him, I always have. Then a competition called, ‘Come Round’ happened, we had to have a Justin Party and take a picture and the picture with the most ‘likes’ on Facebook in a week won 10 meet and greets, it was the most stressful, sleepless week of my life. But of course it was worth it and I would do it over and over and over again because WE WON!!! With over 8,800 likes on our photo ! The day came, we traveled six hours to London and was given golden wristbands which meant we go into Justin’s Christmas light switch on in Westfield in the VIP area and after the concert we’d go backstage and meet him! Already it was the best day of my life, just the whole experience was just indescribable! Then Justin came on stage, the moment we seen him, we DIED. He looked unreal and sang perfectly! The concert was amazing and we met Scrappy and saw Alfredo and Dan! Then the time came were we was getting escorted backstage, I was shaking, it felt so weird, I didn’t believe it was all happening! I’ve never been so happy in all of my life, then we got brought into the room with Justin the moment I seen him, I just froze, I didn’t want to cry in front of him so I held myself together. He was standing waiting for us with the biggest smile on his face, as soon as we went over to him we got a photo! Then I turned around and looked at Justin and the only words that came out was, “I love you Justin” and then thats were the crying started, he looked right into my eyes and said “I love you too, thank you”. He told us all he loved us and said thank you and bye to us. My heart was in my mouth I could not believe it! I can’t even begin to describe how I felt, so so so so so happy, that’s all I can say. Then that same week I got a call off my friend telling me we’d won another competition which was to go to Justin’s ITV special, This is Justin Bieber. OMG I couldn’t believe my luck, things like this never happened to me! Then on the 13th of November me and my friend Faye went to London again. We got to the ITV studios early and just by luck got brought in through the back into Justins Pre-recording/Soundcheck. I’m still not over it. IT WAS UNREAL. Later on we went back for the actual show, Justin sang beautifully and he was so funny and nice to us all. It was so crazy, it was it was normal to be around him because of how normal he was treating us. He then grabbed my hand 7 TIMES!!  I cant even, it was just actually AMAZING. Then to top it all off, on the way out of the Studios, we noticed Scrappy standing by the stage, we shouted and waved at him and he called us over, as we was walking over to him, my legs were like jelly I did not know what was going on. When we got over to him he said, “You was the first person to notice me so…” And then he went and pulled JUSTIN’S GLOVE that he had just worn for 3 hours out of his pocket and gave it to us. I cant even explain my feelings, its just all unreal, I’m so lucky. NEVER SAY NEVER. -@loveyoubiebzz See the original post: I’m Ellie, I’m 14 years old from Liverpool and…

On December 11th 2011, is the day I FINALLY met my idol…

On December 11th 2011, is the day I FINALLY met my idol Justin Bieber. I have been wanting and trying to meet him for 3 years, I’ve entered every contest to meet him and I didn’t win. On 11.11.11 at 11:11 I made a wish to meet Justin, and exactly 1 month after, my wish came true. On, December 9th,  I heard that Justin was coming to Washington, DC for Christmas in Washington and freaked out thinking that this might be my chance to actually meet him or at least get close to him. Justin got to DC on Saturday, and me and my friends went down there to try to find him, and we heard that he had rehearsal in the National Building Museum. So we went down and stood outside of the museum for maybe 45 minutes before him and Selena came out! We were so excited that he came out, and then Justin started walking towards us and we thought he was going to come over and take pictures with us, but then he stopped 10 feet away from us and was talking to his DJ and then went right back to his Escalade. He got in the car and drove off, right past me on the sidewalk, I could see him and Selena in the car and I thought that’s as close as I’ll ever be to Justin. We didn’t know what hotel he was staying at so, we just went home because we didn’t know where they were off too. Right as we were on our way home, I got a tweet from Justin saying that he was at the Children’s Hospital. I knew the next day (Sunday) was going to be 10x harder to meet him or even see him because that was the day he was singing for the President and doing Christmas in Washington. We got to DC around 2pm and we saw Justin again, 10 feet away going into the Museum for dress rehersal. We ran around behind were the entrance was, but we didn’t think we could go any farther because we didn’t want to get in trouble. But then, a little girl comes around the corner (which we were standing next to her until we ran) says that Justin gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Right then I thought, that was my chance to meet him and it was gone because he wasn’t coming back out until Christmas and Washington was over which wasn’t until 7:30 or 8:00pm. We didn’t think that our friend’s mom was going to let us stay until then because it was 6-7 hours away. She said no at first, but then she finally said yes and let’s find something to do until then. We walked around and went to Burger King to get warm and get some food. Then we met these girls and snuck in the gate, we were talking and then all of a sudden a black car pulls up, and the back door opens and it’s Pattie Mallette! Justin’s mom!  I couldn’t believe it, I was so excited to see her.  We asked her if we could take pictures with us, and she said yeah, sure! She was so sweet and gorgeous, she gave us all individual hugs and we told her to tell Justin we said hi and she said ”Okay! I will.” Later that night, we met up with these two girls and they were so nice to us, we walked around with them for a while and we got information about Justin that we didn’t know. We kept asking the  security   guards  and the cops what time Justin was coming back out, and they all gave us different times so we were really confused. At this point, I was thinking “I’m never going to meet him” I was freezing cold, and I was getting exhausted. We went to the museum around 7:30 when the president left, and we waited out by the gates where they would walk out. We were standing there for about a half hour and I was thinking, “When Justin comes out he’s not going to take pictures with us.. he’ll be too tired and he’ll be rushing trying to get to the airport.” First to come out, was Cee Lo Green and then a couple minutes after came out Justin in his black and white suit and Selena right next to him. I was so excited, my heart was pounding with joy. We didn’t scream because we didn’t want to cause a scene and get Justin scared, we asked “Justin can we please get a picture?!” I was thinking, “Is he going to get in his car with Selena, (because she had already gotten in the car) or is he going to take pictures with the 15 fans he had left.” We were the only girls out still waiting for him at 8:00 at night, he went out the gate and said yeah, we can take pictures. MY HEART WAS POUNDING BY NOW AND I WAS SHAKING because he was like 3 feet away from me and he was walking closer. He took pictures with the other girls we were with, and then my friends. I found an opening and I went through it, and before I knew it I was standing right next to Justin, like less than a foot away. I asked him “Can we take a picture?” he said “Of course!” and smiled. He put his arm around me and I put my arm around him for the picture, after my friend took the picture he rubbed my back and tensed up on my shoulder, I said “Thank you so much Justin!” he looked at me, smiled and said, “Your welcome, your welcome!” I was still standing next to him after we took the picture then one of the body gaurds pulled him back and said, “Come on we got to go” he said “I’m sorry, I have to go!” I was the happiest girl in the world at that moment, being face to face with Justin Bieber. The one who, I have been trying to meet for 3 years, the one who’s music I listen to whenever I’m upset or mad. I would always tell my parents “I’m going to meet him this year” then they would always say “no your not” or ”yeah, right” but I proved them wrong. After Justin left, his crew started coming out, Alfredo, Dan, Scrappy, and even his mom came back out again. I said hi to her, and she smiled and said hi again! She remembered me! Dan came out, I asked him for a picture. He was so nice, he was talking to us and was telling us that they were on their way to L.A. to be on the X-Factor. We were exchanging laughs, and he was just so nice to us. Scrappy, came out and I asked him for a picture and he said “Yeah, sure real quick thought cause I gotta leave” we took the picture and then after Dan said to me, “Did you see that?! I photo-bombed that!” and started laughing. I felt like I knew them, they were all such nice people and I loved them! That day was the best day of my life. If anyone tells you, you can’t. YOU CAN, just believe in yourself. Dreams really do come true, and never say never. I love you Justin! On August 25, 2010 I got to meet my idol. It was a really nice day and I had tickets to go see Justin with my best friend Julia. We were so excited and we thought we were going to meet him because my mom’s friend knows his lighting manager but we weren’t sure. When we got to the Times Union Center we met him with the manager and he told us that he doesn’t know if he could get us in. We all had to pay $50 to get the tickets and meet & greet in order for him to  guaranty  us in. Well from our seats that were really bad, we ended up having 6th row, and got to meet Justin! When we were waiting in line to meet him, we were talking to a bunch of other girls that got to meet him! It was really nice to talk to all of these different Beliebers. My friend and I were about 7th in line and when Kenny opened the certain for us to walk in, we almost passed out. We saw Justin and he asked us how we were doing. We were chewing gum at the time and I guess that when we answered him, he smelt our breathe because he then asked us if we had any gum. I did not have a piece because I had given it to Julia (my friend) right before we met him and I felt so bad but I said no. Justin put his head down then told us to smile for the camera! He put his arms around both of us and said SMILE! It was an opportunity I will NEVER, forget. When we left the certain, me and my friend were freaking out. Everyone that was waiting in line at the venue saw us freaking out and realized that we had just met JUSTIN BIEBER. All me and Julia did was smell our shoulders cause they smelt just like Justin. Thank you Justin for an amazing night, and even though you weren’t feeling the greatest, you still did an amazing job. You taught me to follow my dreams and to never say never. I hope to see you again next year. The rest is here: On August 25, 2010 I got to meet my idol. It was a really nice…

13th November 2011= THE best day of my friggan life! Basically…

13th November 2011=  THE best day of my friggan life!  Basically I’ve been trying to meet Justin for 2 and a half years. The chance came and I entered a competition to win tickets for his ITV special, but with my TERRIBLE, NON-EXISTANT luck, that  didn’t  happen. That day I had a huge dilemma because we knew what hotel he was SUPPOSEDLY at then we for sure where knew he would be at the ITV Studios & Fountain Studios.  We were on the train and my friend picked out of my hands on which option to choose and we chose the hotel. We got there and it was freezing. There was NOONE else there so I was like oh this is probably the wrong place, but we kinda hung around. We went Starbucks for an hour, Pizza Hut for an hour, in the hotel for an hour etc, and the hotel was fine with us at first and then all of a sudden they came to kick us out (which was the best sign of the whole day because they only kick you out if someone important is going there) . We went outside and there was a few more people, around 15 people and we were just chatting to them. One of the girls somehow knew the manager and the main hotel security guard who came to speak to us and said, “Yeah Justin will  definitely  be coming back, he’s booked in for another 2 days and this morning he was late for his appointment, but instead of getting straight into his car, he walked out the hotel, went through EVERY single fan outside, took pictures and THEN got into his car to go off. He’s one of the ‘nice ones’ cause most celebs we have here just get straight in the car and go, but he didn’t”.  He then said, “We’re expecting him in about 15-20 mins”. This was weird because the ITV special wasn’t supposed to finish recording in about an HOUR later, not 20 mins, so we were like hmmm, but waited. Then as he said, 20 minutes later, Justin’s car came in!! Justin got out, casually strolled over to us and said, “Hey how you doing? Before I get in trouble and get one of you run over, can you just stand away from the road to the side, just in a line please. I don’t wanna get in trouble or get any of you hurt thanks, everyone will get a go!”  He then started taking pictures and signing autographs for EVERYONE! This one girl’s picture was blurry and he was like “Oh one second I’ll do that again, that’s blurry”, which to be honest should be the LEAST of his worries! I gave him my camera, he was holding it for AGES, and was like, “Oh it’s on record I’ll take you again in a sec”. At that moment I like nearly FAINTED! I got a normal picture after. The whole time, he was like, “Has EVERYONE got a picture?, is everyone SURE they’ve got everything? A pic and a signature? Who hasn’t got a picture?” and he even did some extra, funny pictures with people. At the end, Kenny was like, “Justin you have to go!” and Justin was like “One second, gimme 2 cameras”. He grabbed a random girls phone and another girl’s camera and was like, “Right, everyone in for a group photo”. Kenny took them and Justin was like, “Another one please, I didn’t like myself in that! And the rest of you guys can like get that picture from eachothers Facebook? Okay I have to go, bye thank you!!” During the group photo, he DREW on my face! Yep, Justin DREW Bieber, DREW on my face!! I was like DEAD! I knew he’s really nice, but some things were TOO nice! After that, I was like kinda crying hysterically for about 4 hours, on a bus, 2 tubes and a train. Everyone was looking at my friend thinking she’d hurt me or something. It was unforgettable , after over 2 and a half years trying to meet him and always failing every attempt, I finally did. NEVER SAY NEVER, you will get a chance, whoever you are, wherever you are. Dream big! – @poli_jdb_96 View original post here: 13th November 2011= THE best day of my friggan life! Basically…
