Word on the street is that Swizz Beatz is cheating on Alicia Keys. Swizz allegedly has been cheating on Alicia with one of Solange’s friends named Christina Elizabeth who is a singer/songwriter. Christina recently lost her phone which was filled with sexy texts from the producer and now Blackberry Messenger conversations allegedly with Swizz have been leaked. The two met in 2007 and quickly became friends, and even called each other brother & sister, but clearly the relationship is more than that. With “Laugh At My Pain” Kevin Hart joins Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor and Martin Lawrence as one of the few Black comedians to have a stand up comedy concert turned into a movie released in theaters. Hart has been paying dues for some time now, both on the stand up circuit and the Black movie circuit. Will this movie put him in the ranks of the Black comedy greats? Hart is an extremely funny story teller. The title “Laugh At My Pain” is extremely descriptive as Hart’s self deprecating humor is evident in the stories he tells. Like Murphy and Prior Hart turns his family and personal life into tales of amusement. While many in the hip hop generation generate their personas from bragging about how tough and how rich they are, Hart tells tales of being too short, too soft and too broke. Like Prior, Hart uses the tragedies like his father’s drug abuse to create humorous tales. Like Bill Cosby, Hart uses tales of fatherhood to make us laugh. Hart uses tales of his celebrity life and tales of growing up much like Eddie Murphy did in Raw. Hart’s comedy is not so much a series of jokes, but tales that remind you of one of your funny friends telling stories about his life, his family and his past. His personal style of story telling makes it seem as if he his talking directly to you and not to a crowd. When I talked to Kevin Hart, he seemed humble yet extremely ambitious. He says he can talk about his father’s drug abuse because today, his father is sober and healthy. He says he’s confident in his material and lets his young children watch his movies and that they know that “that’s just daddy doing his job.” Hart’s comedy idols, Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy have called him to give him praise and like most great comedians, Hart studies the legends that have come before him. Hart seems posed to make the transitions from Black movies to mainstream movies. While he may be known for slapstick parody movies like “Soul Plane” and “Scary Movie 3,” he is transitioning to romantic comedies like “35 And Ticking” and “The 5 Year Engagement,” in which he the only African American character. So far the writing for Kevin hart’s movies have not matched his own talent and joke writing ability so Kevin is writing movies and TV pilots with his own production company, HartBear. Hart also has been utilizing technology and has created his own Iphone app , a video game that also allows access to news on Hart and his stand up comedy. Judging by the bootleggers, barbershops, and the stand up comedy circuit, Kevin Hart is the number one comedian for urban America. If Hart’s movies or TV show can receive the same writing that he puts into his stand up, he can join Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor as one of the few Black comedians who transitioned from stand up comedian to movie and TV star. On the heels of that very-funny Funny or Die video featuring Paul Rudd and Harvey Weinstein discussing marketing strategies for Our Idiot Brother , comes Rudd revealing his secret shame on the cover of the latest edition of The Hollywood Reporter . Unlike some other celebs, however, his addiction is slightly less scandalous; like millions of Americans — and other Hollywood stars like Ashton Kutcher — Rudd plays fantasy football. “It’s just so super nerdy. It sucks,” the Our Idiot Brother star told the trade magazine. “I wish I didn’t like it as much as I do. It’s a sickness.”
I hate meaningless memes that are supposed to be funny, aren’t funny, and survive in pop culture for too long a time thanks to unfunny people. I’m talking about the #whitepeopleproblems, the #epicfails, and the lives of most hashtags. Just stupid. But even those don’t burn me quite like planking, the fad where you lay across some sort of funny divide (a pair of park benches, between two roofs, whatever), and photograph yourself. Oh, it is dumb! Big and dumb. And now folks like Kyle Gallner are taking a stand at Funny or Die with a new — if not funny, then just necessary — protest video.
From what we have heard, Mr. Jones has recently had a grand opening for a BBQ / Foot Massage parlor as well. I’m with you on totally disagreeing with you on that business combo, but I would store my things at his facility simply for the laugh factor!
June 23, 2011 at 5:45 PM. The day that my whole life changed. June 21st my friend came to me and said, “OH! Guess what? I am going to the Justin Bieber Someday launch in NYC at Macy’s and I am aloud to bring a friend, would you like to come? We get to meet Justin and everything”. (Now let me tell you I have been a Belieber for the longest time and I knew he was coming out with a perfume) The moment that she asked me, I became speechless, I started sweating, hyperventilating, and crying. She asked me if that considered as a “yes” and as loud as I can I screamed “YES” jumping up and down out of excitement. Two days later on Thursday, June 23 2011, I woke up at 9:00 just to get ready. We were taking the 3:00 train, but I knew I had to look perfect for Justin. I spent all day picking out clothing and doing my hair. We got to NYC and walked 3-5 blocks as I hear my pink converse slapping the wet ground and millions of girls running around us. We FINALLY reached Macy’s as I saw lines and lines of girls outside, screaming and crying. We got special VIP passes so we zipped through those lines. Finally, we took 7 escalators up to the 8th floor where we were greeted by these two girls. They both worked backstage for Justin. They gave us 2 VIP bracelets and opened HUGE doors. I walked in and my heart was beating so fast that I thought I was going to faint. They were playing loud Justin Bieber music and there were a ton of girls waiting to meet Justin. We got addressed to a VIP line but they said that they were going to let the girls that were waiting outside all night to meet him first. First we approached Kenny. We talked for a little and we took pictures, then they made us get back on the line. Funny enough right next to the line, was Dave Renyolds. We talked for the longest time cause we were waiting on the line for like 2 hours. We were also standing behind this very famous Mets player and his daughter and wife (of course I forgot his name). Finally the VIP line started moving. My party got instructed to a little white tent which was right before the stage to meet Justin. The Met’s guy’s family went first so we were standing in that tent for a while. There was a little curtain to lead to the other tent, so I looked through. In there was Pattie, Scooter, and his other workers sitting. We waved “Hi” and they pulled us away from the curtain. They said “GO” as they pushed us out the curtain and there RIGHT THERE was standing Justin Bieber. I felt like my heart was going to drop on the floor in front of me. He looked ADORABLE! He was wearing bright red Supras, black skinny jeans, a black under shirt, and a black vest. He looked super cute with his new haircut and his David Yurmen necklace. I walked up and he greeted us with “Hey guys!” and as he put his arm around my shoulder to take a picture, I felt like I was going to MELT. We saw flashing lights every where and then they stopped and screamed “COME ON GUYS, NEXT!” But I could not take that for an answer. I said “May I please have a huge, I love you so much!” and he responded with “Of course you can sweetheart!” At that moment I gave him the best bear hug ever. I let go (not to be weird) and screamed “THANK YOU SO MUCH” and ran off the stage. I was greeted by Scooter who escorted us out. “Thank you so much!” I said. “No problem” Scooter said with a nice smile. As I walked down those Macy escalators I felt like I had accomplished something. I met Justin Drew Bieber. I felt so lucky and so grateful. Thank you so much to my best friend.
