It’s really not a good week to be a Kardashian. A few days after Kim Kardashian got flour bombed during one of her weekly red carpet appearances, brother Rob Kardashian actually got handcuffs and detained by a Miami police officer – and all due to a joke gone terribly wrong. Rob Kardashian Detained by Miami Police As reported by TMZ, Ron was chilling with friends when he noticed a member of the paparazzi taking photos of the group from across the street. He thought it would be hilarious to act like he was chasing the photographer… only for the photographer to actually run away screaming into a smoke shop. A cop saw the incident go down, handcuffed Kardashian and threw him into the back of a police car. But after interviewing all parties and realizing it was just a misunderstanding, authorities let Rob go. Now we’ll get to hear about this huge injustice all week long on various Kardashian blogs, Facebook pages and Twitter feeds. Great.
Seriously, rest up and get better, Gallagher! Just 10 days after being hospitalized and placed in a medically-induced coma as the result of a heart attack in Texas, the veteran comedian suffered yet another one last night, his rep confirms. According to TMZ, Gallagher ran out of his heart medication, felt chest pains coming on again and was rushed to a hospital in Arizona. He’s in stable condition says his rep, who released the following statement: “Gallagher suffered a mild heart attack today at a hospital in Sedona due to complications from his previous heart attack. He is awake and resting comfortably now.” Gallagher initially planned on continuing his tour after the first incident, but then told friends he was retiring from the business. Based on this follow-up hospitalization, it’s clear he’s making the right choice. We wish the watermelon-smashing funny man all the best.
In honor of his High Flying Birds solo album, we asked the ertswhile Oasis songwriter to rate his fellow high-soaring avians. By James Montgomery Noel Gallagher Photo: MTV News Noel Gallagher has never been one to shy away from stating his opinions, whether about Katie Holmes ( “top Scientologist” ), his new solo album Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (“It’s just a good record, what can I say?”), social networking (“I don’t need a million friends; I’ve got six friends and I’m f—ing trying to get rid of one of those”) or innumerable other topics. This is just part of the reason why, in addition to being a genuine rock god, he’s also a bit of a New Age guru. So when Gallagher stopped by the MTV newsroom earlier this month to promote High Flying Birds — and dispel rumors that he was about to bury the hatchet with his brother Liam and re-form Oasis — in addition to talking all about the album, we had to ask him for his take on various other high-soaring members of the Avian family. And, of course, he didn’t disappoint. From his take on R
‘If I need the money, I will do it,’ he laughs to MTV News. By James Montgomery Noel Gallagher Photo: MTV News Early Thursday (November 10), before Noel Gallagher stopped by the MTV Newsroom to talk up his just-released High Flying Birds solo album, brother and former Oasis mate Liam was quoted by NME as saying that Noel was “desperate” to reunite the band. Given the sheer amount of acrimony between the brothers since Oasis split in 2009 (with the elder Gallagher citing “verbal and violent intimidation” as the main reason), this came as news to Noel, who told us he wasn’t desperate to have anything to do with his former band — now and forever. “I’ll tell you what happened,” he sighed. “When I first started doing interviews [for Birds ], a guy — we’ll refer to him as ‘a French guy’ — he asked me: Did I have any regrets about leaving Oasis? And I said, initially, that I did. And he said, ‘Oh, what about this solo project?’ and I said, ‘Yeah, but it would have been great’ — would have been, this is key, concentrate on this — ‘would have been great if we could have worked on solo projects and maybe got back together for 2015.’ “But obviously, that’s not a story, and journalists being the cunning foxes that they are, he thought to himself … ‘If I just say “could” and “would,” mon dieu, I have myself a story!’ ” Gallagher continued. “So that goes all the way around the Internet, and then it’s like this mythical reunion is going to take place. … It isn’t going to take place. Do I look desperate? No, I’m not desperate at all.” While he’s primarily in the States to begin the promotional cycle for the genuinely quite excellent High Flying Birds album with a run of shows in major markets (Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco), Gallagher knows there’s always going to be fans who want nothing more than a full-blown Oasis reunion — preferably in 2015, the 20th anniversary of their massive (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? album. But for that to occur, Gallagher joked he’s going to have to endure some rather dark times in the very near future, because desperate, he most certainly is not. “I will say this, though: If I need the money, I will do it,” he laughed. “I don’t need a lot of money, though, and here’s hoping I won’t anytime soon. No, I’m not desperate. My sh–‘s not gone down the toilet yet.” Are you one of those fans holding out for an Oasis reunion? Let us know why in the comments! Related Artists Oasis Noel Gallagher
