Bigfoot Hunt Update: Hollywood Wants The Movie Rights!

As you are no doubt aware, we have given up writing about video games to pursue Bigfoot. We knew our expedition would get a lot of attention when we found Bigfoot, but we had no idea that the hunt itself would get so much positve press. Our iPhones have been ringing off the hook since we crossed the state line into Washington, and it’s not just collection agencies, either. We’re getting serious offers from important Hollywood film companies who want to purchase the movie rights to our exciting adventures and make them into a big budget action movie starring Paul Giamatti and Sandra Bullock. This is our ticket to the big time. Our new glamorous life is fun and all, but I have to wonder if it fame is really all its cracked up to be. Jake Gaskill and I are no longer speaking — he doesn’t care about artistic integrity and I don’t need friends like that.

April Fools: Blizzard’s Annual Jokes

Are you tired of April Fools Day yet? I’m not. I love it, and not just because I’m finally going to meet my hero Bigfoot (and hopefully Evil Kenevil). It’s because I love jokes. Especially when they’re funny. Like Blizzard’s jokes this year. The makers of World of Warcraft and Diablo have come up wtih these hysterical bits: Blizzard Storefront is offering the “Diablo III Deckard Cain X-Treme Gamer Blanket” it features “patented Freedom of Movement Holes” and is “covered in runes of warmth,”

April Fools: Google Docs To Offer Storage of Physical Objects

In a shocking April 1 announcement, Google has revealed that Google Docs, the company’s document storage service, will now allow for the storage of physical objects. Store Anything will store pets, pizzas, and pianos, and that’s just the letter “P.” They promise to store and distribute any physical object using Google technology. Michael B, a House Surfer, put it this way: “Since I uploaded my condo to Google Docs I can sleep in my own bed regardless of where I am. It gives a whole new meaning to don’t leave home without it.” I’m trying to use Google Docs to upload my urine as we speak. According to Patrick Klepek, bathroom stops will throw us off schedule, and I don’t think the brakes work too well on this car anyway. Bigfoot is punctual, apparently. Source: Google

Remedy Was Too Small To Develop Alan Wake For PC And Xbox 360

By now, PC owners have hopefully come to grips with the fact that Remedy Game’s thriller Alan Wake will not be released on their console of choice when it hits store shelves May 18. Back in February, Microsoft confirmed that the PC version of the game had been canceled, because Microsoft had wanted to match “this specific game to the right platform.” Turns out that this was more of a half-truth, as Remedy recently told Digital Spy a different tale regarding the ill-fated PC version of Alan Wake . “We’re a small studio, about 50 people. Concentrating on one platform is just a lot easier for us where we’re smaller than other studios, and it’s just been focused on one platform and getting that done. We have no plans for the PC right now.” Remedy had always said that Microsoft ultimately had the final say about Alan Wake on the PC, but the “we just didn’t have the manpower to pull off a PC version too” reality of the situation clearly played a much larger role in the 360 exclusivity decision than previously thought. Given what’s been shown of the game over the past few months, it looks like focusing on the 360 version was the absolutely right way to go. Guess we’ll find out in a few months. Source: Digital Spy

Capcom released another trailer on the results for Lost Planet 2 ‘s multiplayer gameplay. This time they invited four gamers to face off against a gigantic sand monster, battle in the slums, and capture a running train with a huge blast cannon. After viewing the results myself there are some great moments to point out. 1) Gigantic Sand Monster is always plus in fun gameplay. 2) Remember to shoot rockets “In Your Mouth!” 3) Riding on top of a long cannon can be one hell of blast. Mid-Day Discussion: Water-Cooler Games

Since it’s the day after an episode of Lost , it’s got me thinking about, well, what happens the day after an episode of Lost . Throughout the day, various people at G4 will crowd around someone’s desk as a theory about the show is laid out and dissected by those who agree, disagree or wish everybody around their desk would stop talking about Lost for once. But the water-cooler effect of Lost , which occurs regularly very week, isn’t something I’ve experienced with games all that often. Heavy Rain was the most recent water-cooler video game that I can remember. As different people started finishing the game, they’d scuttle off to corners of the office to talk about what did and didn’t happen to them, vainly attempting to avoid spoiling what happens for everyone else. Besides Heavy Rain , what video games have really gotten you and your friends talking? [image credit: flickr / minor9th ] Have something to share? Sitting on a news tip? E-mail me . Microsoft: Xbox 360 Isn’t Getting A Web Browser

Having access to Facebook and Twitter on Xbox Live are adaptations of commonplace Internet use for console users, but it’s not the true Internet. The web browsing experience on PlayStation 3 isn’t what one would call “enjoyable” or “ideal,” but it does provide access to a much larger experience. Despite that, Microsoft has told Edge a web browser isn’t on the radar for Xbox 360’s future. “We really believe that the web browsing experience on TV is a poor one,” said Microsoft’s Xbox group product manager Aaron Greenberg, “and the real magic is to take those web experiences and optimise them for the living room. That’s what we did with Netflix. So, sure, you can go on the PS3 and go to Facebook and and try to navigate, but it’s an absolute nightmare.” Neither Microsoft nor Sony’s solution allows me to completely disconnect from my phone of laptop when either console’s turned on. Considering Sony hasn’t updated PS3’s web browser in ages, however, that experience doesn’t seem to be interesting the company anymore. If one of them can give me native YouTube and Hulu experiences in the future (E3 would be convenient), we’ll be onto something. [image credit: firing squad ] Source: Edge Have something to share? Nugget From The Net: First 4D Platformer

3D gaming is old and busted. The new hottness is 4D , and the first fourth dimensional platformer is Miegakure , a platform game where you “explore the fourth dimension to solve puzzles.” This game is a little like those Magic-Eye 3D books. You really have to watch it a bunch of times to “get it.” But it’s very cool when you do. Here’s the official description of how to see/understand the 4th dimension in game form: “Because humans can only see and move along three spatial dimensions, pressing a button allows to ‘swap’ one regular dimension with the fourth, invisible dimension. The protagonist can use this ability to see inside closed objects, walk through walls, move objects from one dimension to another, hide under 3D shadows of 4D objects, and more.”
