30 Old People Having Fun (Photos)

Filed under: Humor , Photos Old people are often a lot less functional than regular people, but that doesn’t make them unimportant. Old people are great for a lot of things which we should all remember to appreciate. They can make wonderful grandparents to a child who will remember their kindness, home baked cookies and time together for an entire lifetime. Having been around much longer than anyone else, old people are usually really smart and can spread wisdom to complete strangers with just a sentence or two. The elderly are often seen as crotchety and rigid, but there are many who really believe that age lies in the mind. There are some people over the age of 90 who can stand on their heads, dance, or do sports . That’s impressive! In appreciation of all the awesome stuff old people do, here are 30 pictures of old people having fun. Project Natal World Premiere E3 Event To Air On MTV

Gamers will get their first look at Xbox 360 device on June 15 at 3:30 p.m. ET. By Russ Frushtick Soccer player Tristan Bowen plays Project Natal at the Xbox Booth during E3 in Los Angeles on June 2, 2009 Photo: Michael Buckner/ WireImage E3 is always an important time for gamers, but the show is limited to members of the games industry, so everyone else is forced to experience the news second-hand. That’ll change this year, as MTV Networks will be airing Microsoft’s world premiere of Project Natal, giving viewers a glimpse at what the future holds for their Xbox 360s. Airing on Tuesday, June 15, the premiere will feature a performance by Cirque du Soleil and will demonstrate new features and games specifically for Project Natal. First shown at E3 2009, Project Natal is a new piece of hardware that attaches to the Xbox 360. Equipped with a camera, the device senses the location and position of players standing in front of it. This allows gamers to control the action on the screen simply by moving their bodies. Unlike the Wii or PlayStation’s upcoming Move motion controller, Project Natal doesn’t require participants to be holding anything while they play, which is good news considering all those unfortunate Wii-mote accidents a few years back. In the announcement, Microsoft Senior Vice President Don Mattrick was enthusiastic about the opportunity to air the event. “We look forward to making entertainment history again at E3 Expo 2010 and can’t think of a better partner than MTV Networks to exclusively share our news, experiences and Cirque du Soleil’s amazing creativity with an entirely new audience.” Before the MTV premiere, brother station Spike TV will be broadcasting Microsoft’s E3 media briefing live on Monday, June 14. Specific details and announcements are usually kept well under wraps until the show actually begins, but previous years have focused on new games and updates to the Xbox 360 platform. Last year’s media briefing was particularly eventful, as it featured an appearance by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, who were on hand to promote “The Beatles: Rock Band.” “The World Premiere Project Natal for Xbox 360” show will be airing commercial-free on MTV, June 15 at 3:30 p.m. ET, and then on Nick at Nite, mtvU, MTV Hits and Logo, at 9 p.m. ET that evening. Microsoft’s E3 media briefing will air live on Spike TV on Monday, June 14 at 1:30 p.m. ET. Both events can also be viewed live on GameTrailers.com .

30 Awesome Pogs From Our Past (Photos)

Filed under: Humor , Photos , Gaming , Art / Design , Lists What are the beautiful, bite-sized discs known as Pogs? If you’re a 90s baby, you remember them as the awesome game which everyone was obsessed by throughout grade school . Thin, cardboard circles known as ” Pogs ” were stacked and hit with heavier, thicker plastic or metal “slammers” used to try and flip them over. Pogs landing face up would then be collected by the slam artist and sometimes not returned if the game was “for keeps.” A kid’s Pog collection was often filled with images, characters and titles from his or her favorite television show, movie, or comic book. The cooler Pogs were often laminated, engraved, or sometimes holographic. Slammers could also be embellished using metal, spiked edges or even insects suspended within them. The possibilities were endless. Pogs originated from a juice made from Passionfruit, Orange and Guava. The idea didn’t come from a huge business trying to sell children some new product — kids invented it all by themselves. Although the Pogs phase fizzled out with the 90s, we love to look back in nostalgia at what we used to be so passionate about as children. Here are 30 pictures of awesome Pogs from the past. Consequence Reveals How Asher Roth Ended Up On ‘Childish Games’

The Queens rapper almost didn’t go to the show where he met Roth. By Steven Roberts Asher Roth and Consequence in the music video for “Childish Games” Photo: Motown The video for Consequence’s “Childish Games,” first featured on his mixtape Movies on Demand, recently debuted on MTV, but the collaboration between the Queens, New York, rapper and Asher Roth almost never popped off. Directed by Rik Cordero, the clip captures the song’s comparison of popular schoolyard activities to the games adults play. A split-second decision to perform a show — and skip a hyped Diddy affair — led to the duo’s joint effort. “We were doing a concert in Flint, Michigan, for [the city’s] local radio station,” Consequence said. “They were the first [radio DJs] who stepped out on ‘Whatever You Want’ and added it, before we even went for adds. They asked me to do the concert, and I was like, ‘Cool.’ But the week I was doing that concert was the same week that Diddy was having his birthday party out [in New York City], and I really didn’t put two and two together until the last minute.” More than simply partying, Con was actively trying to secure Diddy and the LOX for what would become the Bad Boy remix of “Whatever You Want.” He was browsing the Louis Vuitton store for a possible ensemble, Con said, when it finally hit him that the concert date coincided with the mogul’s bash. “Long story short, I just had to eat not going to the Diddy party or whatever,” Con said. “I flew out to Michigan. When I get to the hotel, I see Asher’s road manager. He introduces himself. He’s like, ‘Yo, we really love you. You’ve got this slogan you say, and I don’t know if you know it’s a slogan, but it’s our slogan, and it’s ‘I’mma do me regardless.’ ” Con explained that the slogan was from an episode of his YouTube channel Cons TV. Choosing work over partying meant Consequence got a chance to enjoy Asher’s set and really pay attention to him as an MC. After the show, Con played a rough version of “Childish Games” for Roth, who was happy to jump on the song. “He was like, ‘Yo, that’s totally where I’m trying to go with the next record,’ ” Con recalled. The Asleep in the Bread Aisle rapper really wanted people to embrace him as a lyricist, he told Con. “Lo and behold, he came with the verse, and I was like, ‘I hope I ain’t get “Renegade”-d, man,” Con joked, referring to the Jay-Z song, on which many fans think he was bested by featured rapper Eminem. Weekly Wrap Up: iPad Edition

The big news of the week: The iPad! Apple’s tablet was the total rage, with the faithful lining up to buy their own copy, and the rest of the world either feeling left out or snorting derisively (while secretly feeling left out.) But we tore ourselves away from our devices long enough to make the awesome web shows below for you. Feedback:

The Reacharound: Where Your Comments Are Rewarded Handsomely

Welcome to the of TheFeed’ s Reacharound, where we reward you for awesome commentary. All week long, we’ve been reading the comments you post to our site, silently judging your worth, picking the best to spotlight and reward. This week, we’re giving the top comment of the week an awesome G4 T-shirt, suitable for wearing, framing or totally ignoring! I’m not giving anyone the sweet Luchadore mask from Konami’s Gamer Day. I need it for my wrestling career! Below are the most interesting, funny, insightful or cool comments of the last seven days: We’re gonna start the Reacharound off with a strong opinion, because that what makes the internet go. User spicypooptastic responded to the fact that Heavy Rain is selling well with the following vitriol: I am happy for sony on actually getting pay off on taking risk. I am happy to see that games don’t need to be carbon copy clones to sell well. I am however not happy to see that pretentious, stuck up douche david cage be looked at as if hes some genius artist. He hates games and wishes he could do film but he failed at that so he does this, he looks down on gamers and other game makers as well. He is a douche its insane that he thinks hes so much better when he hasn’t done anyone well, he just made something so different people where like BRAVO! F him I hate people like that dude, he probably sits around and talks about how cleaver and smart he is, and how hes some gift to the world Wow. Tell us how you really feel! Let’s balance it out with some positivity. Reader Edgeman773 responded to Hideo Kojima’s prediction that consoles were on the way out thusly: As long as developers are willing to explore the darkest and farthest regions of their creative minds, to always strive to make a better game, and to tell a story no one has heard before, then i do believe consoles will live on. *another side* I still play NES, SNES, N64 and whatnot even though their technology is severely obsolete, i prefer their games *some times* over present day games.

Saw 2 Hands-On Preview

TheFeed’s Jake “Jigsaw” Gaskill got his hands on bloody, horrible, torture-porn ordeal Saw 2 , and he thought it was pretty good. He’s a sick, sick man, saying: “As the game opened, I found myself in the same situation as the unfortunate character from the first scene of the movie Saw II: sitting in a chair with a Venus flytrap-like mask of death strapped onto my character’s head. The key to unlocking the trap had been unfortunately sewn into my face, just underneath my right eye. To get it out, I had to gently guide a scalpel along the stitches just below my eyeball. Once I had cut out the key, I was able to remove the trap just before it snapped shut.”
