Sweet baby Beysus … Joan Smalls She Asked To Lick Beyonce In “Yoncé” Music Video Via VanityFair Nobody told Joan Smalls to lick Beyoncé in her “Yoncé ” video. “That was my idea,” the model said on Wednesday, at a launch party for Nike’s collaboration with designer Riccardo Tisci. “I just got inspired by the song—[the lyric] ‘Yoncé all on his mouth like liquor’—I’m like, ‘Can we actually see what Yoncé would taste like? Can I lick her?’ And they’re like, ‘Go for it.’ I’m like, ‘Are you sure?’ And I asked her, and she’s like, ‘Absolutely,’” Smalls said. The video, which also features models Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Iman, had no script, and the women were not required to rehearse. “It was basically us being ourselves, and just in the moment,” Smalls told VF Daily. “It was only a certain vibe, and a certain energy that was required in the video. It was up for interpretation; you could laugh, you could do whatever you want. You just had to be yourself.” And Smalls did not feel weird licking Bey’s chest. “I mean, I do what very few people in this world would ever do,” she said. “So Jay Z is a very lucky man,” she added, laughing. She described Beyoncé as “spectacular, professional, and down to earth.” “She gives it her all. She is so energetic, and she makes you feel like you’re the only person in the room, and that’s something I really find inspiring about her. She’s a good icon.” So how does Beyoncé taste? “Uh, sweet,” Smalls said, laughing again.
