Kanye West says a lot of crazy stuff (see bottom of this post). But if you take away some of the ramblings… and some of the comparisons to God… and talk of running for President in 2020 … the rapper also says some pretty awesome stuff. Case in point: Kanye’s reaction to Caitlyn Jenner becoming, well, Caitlyn Jenner. If you’ll recall, Kim Kardashian has credited her husband with opening up her eyes when it comes to her step-father; with helping her accept Caitlyn for the woman she wants to be. And now we have this: Kanye recently sat down for an extensive interview with SHOW studio’s “In Camera” series. When asked how he felt about Jenner’s gender transition, West responded: “I just feel so proud to be in a family that has so many people breaking ground for the generations to come…I feel proud… that I can be next to a wave of ‘this is who I am.’ And that is all I’m about.” West went on to illustrate his point of view by presenting a traffic analogy, theorizing that too many people are stuck in the gridlock of public opinion. “To let your life be controlled by public opinion would be like asking to sit in traffic for the rest of your life,” he said. “Meaning, you want to turn this way, but there’s a car right here that says this… That’s public opinion….And Bruce just got off [at] the exit sign and drove as fast as he wanted.” We hesitate to say this, but did Kanye West just make perfect sense?!? Don’t worry. We’ve collected the following series of quotes that prove this was the exception that proves the hilarious rule… View Slideshow: 16 Pearls of Kanye West Wisdom

He’s always packin’ the niftiest of gadgetry and he’s reinvented himself throughout the generations, remaining forever in his prime, but one en vogue technology James Bond is not considering is 3-D. Producers of the 50 year-old franchise say they have no interest in making a Bond film a three-dimensional format despite the rise of the medium – and its box office prowess – since the last Bond film, Quantum of Solace debuted back in 2008. Avatar re-ushered in 3-D in a massive way to audiences back in 2009, grossing over $2 billion that year in the U.S. alone, while Summer-season ’12 release Marvel’s The Avengers scored well into the 10-figure gross mark. And Ang Lee’s ventured into 3-D with his anticipated Life of Pi due out in late November. Unless you can do something as well as [ Avatar ], it’s probably not worth looking at.” Broccoli and her half-brother Michael G. Wilson have spearheaded the last seven Bond films. Wilson added that some have poked around at the idea of converting some of the old Bond films into 3-D, perhaps taking a cue from Disney animated classics in recent years, but he called the suggestions “more of a novelty.” One piece of visual stimulation Skyfall is embracing is IMAX. The film will be released there a day early on November 8th in North America. So, Bond has mostly adapted to the times. Should the 3-D prove to be more than a medium-term fancy, seeing Daniel Craig as 007 flying, falling, shooting and in your face with millions of adoring cross-generational fans may yet happen. Craig has signed on for two more Bond films, which will be the 24th and 25th installments. Neither is planned as a 3-D pic, but said Broccoli: “Who knows? We’ll see if things change in the future.” [ Source: A.P. ]

Have you ever sat and listened to the conversations some young black girls are having on the subway, or at the bus station? What about those that cause all types of hell in McDonalds or tell their business so loud the whole mall can hear them? In the morning when I make my daily trek from Harlem to Brooklyn on the A train I’m confronted with “b*tch this/b*tch that,” n***a this/n***a that” and for the record I’m not talking about the young boys on the train (who are just as guilty), I’m talking about our young sisters. Some of the most disturbing conversations I’ve heard on the street were from young women. I’m not exempting young men from this conversation but I want to take a special moment to discuss our young sisters who are the mothers of our generations to come. ( Continue reading… )
