By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: George Pimentel/ WireImage Justin Bieber was disappointed that he couldn’t make it to Sunday’s 2010 BET Awards , where he was nominated for Best New Artist. He was on the road for his just-launched My World headlining tour , he explained on Twitter, and never considered cancelling or postponing the show. “Rolled into Milwaukee for the show today…gonna be huge…22,000 people sold out. I heard. Missing everybody out in LA for the BET Awards,” he tweeted on Sunday. “Just wanted to say I would have been at the awards, but this show was booked before the nominees came out, and I don’t cancel shows. “I would never cancel a show and let down the fans unless I had to … but I do wish I was there too, because I am honored to just be nominated,” he added. Though he lost the Best New Artist prize to Queens MC Nicki Minaj, the teen singer found the nomination enough of an honor. “But I do wish I was there too, because I am honored to just be nominated but just goes to show that music is COLOR BLIND!! It is the universal language, and good music brings us all together … the way it should be.” Bieber added a message to his friends who were at the Shrine Auditorium. “Everyone out there best of luck… Shout-out to my big bro @usherraymondiv performing 2nite!” And while the celebrities at the BET Awards were gathering trophies, Bieber celebrated another successful night of his tour in a less formal manner: with a water gun fight . “As soon as we got offstage we had an EPIC WATER FIGHT!!!” he wrote. “Last night we were caught off guard but 2nite we came prepared.” Do you think Bieber should have planned for the BET Awards? By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber (file) Photo: George Pimentel/ WireImage HARTFORD, Connecticut — On Wednesday night, swarms of teenage girls took over the XL Center in Hartford to check out Justin Bieber as he kicked off his first headlining tour , in support of his album My World 2.0. During the show, Bieber dazzled the crowd with fan favorites like “Baby,” “Somebody to Love and “One Time,” but it seems the moment Bieber fans loved most was when he flew over the audience in a heart-shaped cage. “I thought it was really cool when he came out in the heart,” Kiera told MTV News as she was leaving the show. “It was, and he was, in the audience. That was pretty cool.” Devin added, “I liked when he flew around in that heart thing.” The chance to get so close to their idol proved to be a highlight of the night. With most of the glowing reviews from Bieber fans running the gamut from “great” to “amazing” to “loved it,” even his older fans, like girls the audience’s apparent median age of 14, caught Bieber Fever. Megan confessed, “I know I’m not supposed to be in love with someone that young, but I am.” Kristen added, “Well tonight’s show was really fun, and seeing Justin Bieber in real person and [hearing him sing] was amazing.” Erin admitted that Bieber’s family-friendly antics made the show even more enjoyable. “I thought it was really fun and it was really great for kids,” she said. “I really enjoyed it. I kind of came in [like], OK, I’m not gonna enjoy it.’ But I really had a lot of fun. It was a fun concert.” Bieber later tweeted that he really owed his successful first show to his fans. “When u have the support of the greatest fans in the world. U just end up smiling. Thanks,” he wrote. “2nite was just…well…i was scared. Didn’t want to let anyone down but the energy and the fans were incredible. Justin Bieber Manager Arrested For Mall Incident

Police say Scooter Braun failed to tweet fans that an out-of-control November mall appearance was canceled. By Jayson Rodriguez Justin Bieber Photo: George Pimentel/ WireImage Justin Bieber’s manager turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday (March 24) to face charges of reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance, stemming from a scheduled Bieber mall appearance last November that turned into a stampede and injured one fan. Police allege that Scott “Scooter” Braun, 29, failed to properly control the situation at Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, New York. A spokesperson for the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to MTV News that Braun was in custody. As of press time, Braun — who also manages rapper Asher Roth — was awaiting arraignment before a judge. He faces up to one year in prison if found guilty on both second-degree misdemeanor charges. According to NBC New York , police at the time of the incident ordered Braun to send a message to Bieber’s fans via Twitter to notify his followers that the event was canceled. Fans of the rising teen superstar were waiting for Bieber to arrive at the mall, where he was set to perform selections from his EP My World, which had just been released earlier in the week. Braun, however, refused to send the message, police said. Instead, authorities contend Braun eschewed safety in favor of publicity. As things got out of hand, police said, Bieber’s Twitter still read, “On my way to Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, NY to sign and meet fans! I’m pumped. See u there.” After a representative from the singer’s label was arrested, a message from Bieber’s Twitter was sent urging fans to go home. “The event at Roosevelt Mall is cancelled,” he tweeted. “Please go home. The police have already arrested one person from my camp. I don’t want anyone hurt.” The crowd waiting for Bieber turned rowdy when bystanders incorrectly insisted that the singer had arrived, which resulted in a stampede that sent one young female fan to the hospital. An attorney representing Braun dismissed the characterization of events. “Absent Scooter having a Superman’s cape, he couldn’t have [tweeted the cancelation] any faster,” Ravi Batra told NBC. “As a result of his lawful compliance with police instruction, [we believe the DA] will dismiss the charges after reopening the investigation.” Bieber tweeted his support of Braun, who helped develop the singer and introduced him to his mentor, Usher. “You’ve got my total support @scooterbraun,” Bieber tweeted on Wednesday. “Wish you were here in Chicago with us #FreeScooter.” Related Artists Justin Bieber
