Where Are Our Parents: Two 8-Year-Olds Suspected In String Of Car Break-Ins

We have got to do better about preventing these little children from doing hoodrat isht with their friends. Atlanta police say two 8-year-old boys were among a number of juveniles implicated recently in a spate of burglaries in southwest Atlanta. “We are seeing an increase in burglaries in the Princeton Lake & Deerwood communities,” APD Zone 4 Commander Maj. Rodney Bryant wrote Monday in a email alert sent to affected residents. One of the incidents occurred last weekend when police interrupted an attempted car theft on Harwell Road in Zone 4. An 8-year-old suspect was detained along with a 14-year-old, but no charges were filed against the younger child, Bryant said. An 8-year-old also was suspected in a home break-in on Abbey Avenue near Washington and Ben Hill roads. He, too, was accompanied by an older youth, Bryant said. In both cases, the alleged junior bandits were returned to their parents. Bryant said Zone 4 officers have made a number of burglary-related arrests in recent weeks, with juvenile offenders accounting for more than half of those charged. Thank goodness Georgia kids go back to school this week and next… Damn delinquents! Source

Young Jeezy Changes His Thug Motivation With The Times

The Snowman explains how his TM 103 reflects the economic hardships of the day. By Rob Markman, with reporting by James Smith Young Jeezy Photo: Monica Morgan/ WireImage The folks on Capitol Hill aren’t the only ones focused on the world financial crisis. Young Jeezy is well aware of the economic woes of the day, which play a role in his upcoming album TM 103. Starting with his 2005 debut album, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, Jeezy stood as a voice of the streets his entire career. In 2006, he dropped The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102 and two years after he dropped his third LP, The Recession. On September 20, the Snowman will return to motivate the thugs on his oft-delayed TM 103, and for him the evolution of the TM album reflects the hard times that many Americans have fallen upon. ” TM 101 dropped at a time when money was so plentiful that you could’ve had too much of it at some point, and everybody was happy,” Jeezy told MTV News on Tuesday while backstage in Atlanta at the second of his Thug Motivation 101 six-year anniversary concerts . “Everybody was flamboyant, everybody was living, and nowadays it ain’t like that. So when I dropped TM 101, my whole focus was, we’re gonna get this money and that’s what it’s about. We’re gonna get this money, we’re gonna live life, we’re gonna have fun.” In 2011, people can’t spend money as frivolously as they once did, so Jeezy wasn’t about to stick to the old topics. “The evolution of that, 103 is more sort of like situations, like, OK, yeah we got to the money, we lost it two or three times, but what are we gonna do to maintain?” Jizzle asked before rattling off a few more hypothetical questions. “Are we gonna maintain? Are we gonna get back? Are we gonna stay focused on the get back, or we gonna get off track? Are we gonna pay attention to what they’re talkin’ about, or pay attention to what we need to do? That’s what the evolution is about.” The Georgia rapper has seen his music labeled as trap rap — a brand of hip-hop that focuses primarily on the Southern drug dealer. While that is a fair assessment of Young Jeezy’s sound on the surface, the rapper also believes that he is spreading a motivational message that can help his fans make it through their own trials and tribulations. It’s a musical tactic that he credits to the late Tupac Shakur. “It’s about knowing what to do. When I was growin’ up and I was listening to ‘Pac, all his situations apply to me today. I never knew that, I was just listening to the music and I thought it was good music,” Jeezy said. “Everything that he said applies to me today. Keep ya enemies close, money over bitches — that’s real talk.” Related Artists Young Jeezy

Police Report on Hines Ward: Wasted!

Bar employees may have claimed Hines Ward looked nice and sober late Friday night, but looks can be deceiving. Police have released their findings of the traffic stop that took place in Georgia, with officers saying they detected a “strong odor” of alcohol on the Pittsburgh wide receiver when he opened the door. Ward subsequently blew a .128 on the field sobriety test before being taken into custody. The legal limit is .08. Ward told the cops he had only drank two Coronas on the evening and was not impaired. But the arresting officer says the DWTS victor had a difficult time keeping his balance during a “walk and turn evaluation” and also had trouble following his finger. For a guy who follows multiple passing routes on Sunday afternoons, that’s never a good sign.

New Edition Album ‘In The Making,’ Bobby Brown Says

Pioneering pop&B boy band chop it up with MTV News about their reunion. By Rebecca Thomas New Edition perform at the Essence music festival Photo: Getty Images NEW ORLEANS — Don’t let the fancy footwork fool you: Bobby Brown says it took him two years to get back enough “muscle memory” to pull off the smoove moves that earned his group, New Edition , a permanent place in the annals of boy bands. OK, maybe not two years, but Brown — whose shirtless onstage dancing once got him arrested, during his ’90s heyday, in the state of Georgia — admitted it took some time when we caught up with him and his bandmates at last weekend’s 2011 Essence Music Festival . “It didn’t take two years, but it took a little while to get back into, you know, not moving the way I used to move and get the steps and start dancing back on my toes instead of flat-footed,” the onetime R&B bad boy laughed as he demonstrated a little shuffle. “Bobby got on shoes. Let me tell you, he ain’t had shoes onstage for the last 20 years,” group heartthrob Ralph Tresvant teased the sneaker-rocking Brown. “So that’s a testament to his dedication.” “It’s a lot of things that I’m capable of doing, but New Edition steps, whether you think so or not, they’re probably one of the hardest things in dance that you could do,” Brown added. In the ’80s, those steps, paired with soulful vocals, took five young boys from a Boston ‘hood to music-industry superstardom. Now celebrating 30 years in the business, New Edition — Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Tresvant, Brown and Johnny Gill (the only non-Bostonian brought into the fold in the ’90s to take over for Brown) — put their indelible street stamp on the boy-band hustle. And their influence rolls on — whether the bubblegum pop of their 1983 Candy Girl debut or the boys-to-men songs of their classic Heart Break album. Case in point, sought-after producer Jim Jonsin told MTV News this month that he would reference the New Edition sound for Justin Bieber ‘s next album. Backstage at the Superdome, the still-dapper guys, now in their early 40s, chatted with their arms flung around each other. In three decades, they’ve endured more than a few ups and downs — self-imposed hiatuses, label changes and infighting — and even spawned successful solo careers and subgroups like Bell Biv DeVoe. But gathered on this Fourth of July weekend in the Big Easy, they found they could recapture that magic, reducing grown women to squealing tweens. “Through the love of just being around each other for many years and trusting that we were just gonna be there for each other, we were able to let [individual projects] go for a minute and jump out that car and jump into this one,” Tresvant, in a stylish tan fedora, explained. So could an album be in the works? “We got a New Edition album in the making,” Brown revealed. “We’re thinking about it, we’re talking about it, and it all starts with us, just thinking about making some good music together. … I’m just glad to be a part of this and I’m proud to be a part of this.” Share your memories of New Edition in the comments! CyHi The Prynce Says Kanye, Akon Pledged To ‘Enhance’ His Music

‘It’s just like Shady and Aftermath,’ MC says of being signed to G.O.O.D. Music, Konvict and Def Jam. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Sway Calloway CyHi the Prynce Photo: MTV News If you want to get technical, Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music deal with Def Jam puts Atlanta rapper CyHi the Prynce back where he’s been throughout his career. And that makes him all the more confident that big-label status won’t change his music. “Def Jam is like family, for real,” he said on “RapFix Live” this week. His history with the label began back when CyHi was part of a Georgia rap group called Hoodlum that was signed to Def Jam through Jazzy Pha’s Sho’Nuff imprint. After the group split a couple of years later and CyHi embarked on a solo career, his relationship with a pair of execs kept him in the family. “When I went solo, I came back and revisited the situation, due to my relationship with L.A. Reid and my relationship with Bu Thiam,” CyHi told MTV News. At the time, Reid was Island Def Jam’s chairman and Thiam, Akon’s younger brother, was (and still is) an A&R at the label. CyHi was signed to Akon’s Konvict Music imprint in 2009. And then last year, Kanye West caught wind of his talents and recruited him to join his Grammy Family. “I’ve been at Def Jam all my life; it’s just, you know, the big heads put it all together,” CyHi explained of the new relationship with Kanye’s group and the label. “By G.O.O.D. Music actually getting their label deal there, and I’m already there, it just solidifies me more, [increasing] the possibility of an album coming soon.” As for how Konvict and G.O.O.D. Music interact on his behalf, and split any due proceeds, CyHi offered an analogy for the joint venture: “It’s just like Shady and Aftermath. It’s just like G-Unit and Aftermath. It’s the same thing. I’m not a stingy guy. My thing ain’t to get rich. … Their check is a joint venture. That’s between Konvict and G.O.O.D. Music. They going to split that, then I just do me.” The “Royal Flush” rapper was also adamant that both Konvict and G.O.O.D. Music only have his best interest at heart and that the plan is to augment his talent, not switch up his style. “When you self-made and you do it yourself, they all come to complement what you have done,” CyHi said. “I got with ‘Ye, I been like this. They was like, ‘I don’t want to change nothing about you; I just want to enhance it.’ Same with [Konvict], ‘We just want to enhance.’ It’s a great relationship with everybody. My team is what really makes me who I am. Teamwork makes dreams work.” Related Videos ‘RapFix Live’ With CyHi The Prynce Related Artists Prynce Cy Hi Kanye West Konvict

A “Lil Positivity” President Obama Helps A Little Girl That Lost Her Father In 9/11 To Meet Justin Bieber

From Bin Laden to Bieber, there’s not a person ol’ Barry O can’t touch… It was an uplifting moment for the starry-eyed threesome from New Jersey — whose dads, Cantor Fitzgerald executives Glen James Wall and Donny Robertson, were killed in the Twin Towers on 9/11. The girls carried a life-size cardboard cutout of Obama and were so overcome with shyness, they could barely get any words out when the teenybopper showed up. “He was really nice and is so cute,” Avery beamed. “He didn’t even look real.” Payton and her BFF Madison began a letter-writing campaign to meet Bieber months ago. Payton mailed her plea to entertainment-industry honchos and to the White House, where Obama read it in early May. Obama invited the teen, her sister, and mom Diane, to a wreath-laying ceremony at Ground Zero last month — where Payton again made her request to the president. “I know Justin,” Obama told her. “Maybe I could set something up.” The POTUS is a man of his word, and in 2012 we need to vote him back into office so he can finish everything he started. My name is Monika and I’m 15 from Georgia. I’ve been…

My name is Monika and I’m 15 from Georgia. I’ve been utterly obsessed with Justin since I was in 7th grade (early 2009) before he got famous and I’ve literally loved him since day one. I have over 40 posters of him in my room, a life-size cardboard cutout and pretty much everyone who knows me, knows how much I love him. Anyways, I live in Georgia near the area where he is rumored to live, so when I heard he was playing basketball at the local gym 5 minutes away from my house , I really couldn’t believe it even though it was possible. My friend called me and said her sister was texting her friends that were working out and saw him! Since I was home and have a membership to that gym, I figured it couldn’t hurt to check it out. I forced my mom to drive me there as soon as possible and when I got out of the car I ran inside to the basketball courts. It was true! Justin was here, at my gym, playing basketball! I was freaking out beyond belief, except for the fact that employees of the gym were blocking the doors and wouldn’t let anyone take a picture of Justin through the glass doors or even walk by repeatedly. I went to the second floor overlooking the basketball courts. I was so close to him I just had to meet him! I went back downstairs with the other 10 or so girls that showed up for Justin and the guards cleared out a bit. This was my chance. I ran in through the glass doors and went straight up to Justin while he was taking a break. I said I was his biggest fan and if I could please have a picture together. He said no since other girls would want a picture but thank you for asking. I felt like crying and left the court. But then I realized it, I JUST TALKED TO JUSTIN BIEBER! I was the only girl who had the guts to go up to him and it was worth it even without a picture. I fulfilled my dream of finally meeting him, and I know we’re going to meet again when we get married anyways haha. As I walked out, an employee said that if I did that again he would have to ask me to leave the building, but I didn’t care since I just met Justin Bieber. Never say never. I was always reading Bieber Experiences thinking I would never have one, but I did. Dreams do come true. – @moniikkkkaaaa Go here to read the rest: My name is Monika and I’m 15 from Georgia.
