Get Well: Brutally Beaten Teen Model Who Posted Injury Photos On Instagram Shares Recovery Update Pics

We’re glad to see that Mori is healing and smiling Attacked Teen Model Posts Recovery Photos To Instagram You may remember the story we posted about Mori and her vicious attack back in February, today we have news that she is not only improving, but ready to spread the word about domestic violence. Via NYDailyNews An aspiring model took a public stance against an abusive boyfriend by posting pictures online of her horrific injuries after the man allegedly pushed her out of a moving car and beat her on a Las Vegas street. Mori Gabriella Montgomery, 19, has been updating nearly 10,000 followers on her social media accounts with her progress since the brutal attack last month that nearly left her dead. But she said the pictures of her bloodied body were not meant to show her as a victim, but a survivor. And she wants her story to expose the seriousness of domestic violence. “Pity is not what I ask from you,” she wrote in one post on her Twitter account. “I am well aware that those pictures may look as if I want attention, but that is far from my goal here.” The aspiring model said she had only been with her boyfriend, who was not identified, for about eight months when turned violent. Mori describes her attack in horrifying detail… “I was kicked out of a moving vehicle, then beaten and dragged, as I blacked out and was left lying there in my own puddle of blood,” she wrote. “Doctors said I could have died.” She said her list of injuries included severe cuts and scarring along her arms, chest and shoulder, along with bruising to her ribs. She said doctors told her to wear a neck brace for about a month. She’s lucky to be alive to tell this story. Montgomery said she’s pressing charges against her ex-boyfriend, whom she hasn’t contacted since the attack. “Domestic violence is such an overlooked crime,” Montgomery told news.com.au. “Nobody truly understands how often tragedies happen due to spouse mistreatment. I plan to put an end to the silence.” And, slowly, she’s starting to heal. “I am recovering fairly well and instead of relying for people to help me eat, drink, walk, put clothes on, etc.; I am slowly but surely learning to do these things on my own,” she posted on Facebook. “I ask to please continue to keep me in your prayers for I have a long journey of recovery ahead of me. Not just physically but emotionally as well.” Mori surely has a long road ahead to fully recovery mentally, but she appears to have a very strong spirit. Hang in there girl! Image via Instagram

Blige was critically injured Thursday morning on this city’s south side, stabbed in the neck in what police said was a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend. Thomas Blige, 63, remained in critical condition Thursday afternoon, Battle Creek police said. Police arrested his former girlfriend on a charge of assault with intent to murder. Get Well: Orange Is The New Black Actress Michelle “Miss Claudette” Hurst Awakes From 16-Day Coma After Car Accident!

WHAT?!? ! Michelle Hurst Of OITNB Awakes From 16-Day Coma Via Yahoo! “Orange Is the New Black” actress Michelle Hurst, who plays Miss Claudette, has awaken from a 16-day, medically induced coma after being critically injured in a serious car accident during the holidays. The news of the accident just broke today, as cast and crew members tweeted their support. Piper Kerman, whose memoir the Netflix series is based on, encouraged fans to donate to Hurst’s medical bills: Cast members Natasha Lyonne and Danielle Brooks also retweeted the sad news. The YouCaring.com page, started by Hurst’s family, reveals scant details about the accident. It took place just before Christmas and doctors put her in a coma as they performed multiple surgeries. Hurst has woken up, but is still in the ICU at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hospital. Hurst’s Miss Claudette quickly became a standout character as Piper’s (Taylor Schilling) strict, no-nonsense roommate. She became memorable for her icy staredowns and scary demeanor. But flashback scenes revealed her vulnerable side. She had come to the United States as slave labor and operated a similar cleaning business as an adult. She ended up killing a client when he beat one of her girls. And her hopes for early parole and renewed romance with an old friend were dashed in a heartbreaking episode. Our thoughts and prayers are with Michelle and her family. If you have anything at all that you are able to give, we strongly encourage you to do so. Image via YouTube

There are times where I have to pinch myself that I come from this man who is a fighter even though you can see he is struggling, but fighting spirit is still there with him.” Mandela spent almost three months in a Pretoria hospital after being admitted in June with a recurring lung infection. In Shady White Folks News: Michael Douglas Says He Lied About Having Throat Cancer, Reveals He Actually Had Tongue Cancer

How do we know you’re not lying now Michael ? Michael Douglas Lied About Having Throat Cancer A couple months ago Michael had everyone scratching their heads when he claimed to have gotten throat cancer from pleasuring the box then he later denied this. Now, dude is saying he never had it…he has the worst public relations team in history. According to US Weekly Michael Douglas has spoken candidly in the past about his 2010 battle with cancer. But it turns out that he wasn’t being completely honest about his diagnosis. In a new interview with pal Samuel L. Jackson for the U.K. talk show This Morning, the 69-year-old Oscar winner reveals that he actually had tongue cancer — not, as he previously claimed, throat cancer. Recalling the moment he knew something was terribly wrong, Douglas says, “[The doctor] just took a tongue depressor and — I will never forget it — I saw this look in his eye. And I went, ‘Oh.’ And they took a biopsy, and two days later, they said, ‘You have cancer.’” At the time, the Behind the Candelabra star was preparing to go to Europe to promote the movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. “You can’t cancel a worldwide European tour junket thing and say, ‘I don’t feel well.’ You gotta tell ‘em. So I said, ‘We just gotta come out [with the diagnosis],’” Douglas explains. His doctor agreed — but he advised the star to fudge the truth a little. “He said, ‘Let’s just say it’s throat cancer…We don’t want to say it’s tongue cancer,’” the actor tells Jackson. “I said, ‘Why is that?’ He said, ‘Well, if you really want to know why — if we do have to do surgery, it’s not going to be pretty. You’ll lose part of your jaw and your tongue, and all of that stuff.’” Worried he might never work again — or worse — the father of three did as his doctor said. He managed to avoid losing his tongue, but his appearance did change. “I looked pretty weird,” he recalls. “I lost a lot of weight.” These days, though, he’s proud to say he has a clean bill of health. He recently passed the two-year mark of being cancer-free — which is a big deal. “With my type of cancer, if you’re clean after two years, there’s a 95 percent chance it’s not coming back,” he tells Jackson. Douglas knows how lucky he is to be well, and he hopes other men will learn from his experience. “Hey guys, you look at your body every day. You know every mole, everything that’s there,” he advises. “You see something that looks a little strange, you feel a bump somewhere, check it out — please. I made the mistake. I don’t want to see you do it.” Whatever he had, at least he is doing well now. Continue reading

According to USA Today Little Richard says he had a heart attack last week, but credits God with pulling him through. Speaking with Cee Lo Green Sunday in Atlanta, the rock ‘n’ roll pioneer told an audience of about 150 people that a tour bus with a hospital bed in it had brought him to the event for the local chapter of the Recording Academy. The 80-year-old singer, born Richard Penniman in Macon, Ga., in 1932, initially didn’t realize he was having a heart attack last week, reports Rolling Stone. “I was coughing, and my right arm was aching,” he told Green. “I told my son, ‘Make the room as cold as ice.’ So he turned the air conditioning on, and I took a baby aspirin. Chubby Lumpkins: Saudi Arabian 2-Year-Old Tipping Scales At 72 Pounds Becomes Youngest Person To Get Gastric Bypass!

What the hell was lil homie eating? SMH. A morbidly obese toddler from Saudi Arabia just broke the record for youngest person to ever get gastric bypass surgery. Via Gawker reports : A morbidly obese two-year-old from Saudi Arabia is now the youngest person in the world to have undergone gastric bypass surgery. The child weighed 72.7 lbs and had a body mass index (BMI) of 41 when he had the surgery in 2010. According to the report published this week in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports , the child’s parents took him to an endocrinologist when, at 14 months, he weighed 46 lbs. All of his tests were normal, but after four months of a doctor-prescribed diet, he gained 17 more pounds. How did it happen? Although the parents were informed about the importance of a strict dietary regimen a full compliance cannot be ascertained mainly due to the different socio cultural habits and the absence of the practice of calculating the calorific value of the diet. The new weight gain led to severe sleep apnea as well as “bowing of the legs.” The toddler was then referred to an obesity clinic for further dietary management and he gained 18 more pounds. Weighing in at 72 lbs and 30-months-old, doctors finally decided to perform a Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy. The surgery was deemed successful and two years later, the boy’s weight has dropped to 52.9 lbs. However, the research highlights one very important factor in the child’s rehabilitation: The parents of the child did not comply with the provided instruction/s and more often showed a tendency to miss appointments and hence a regular time bound follow up was not possible. The surgery is not reversible. This is just crazy. Based on the notes in the report it seems like his parents weren’t complying with the doctors instructions. But anybody with kids know how difficult it can be keeping a determined 2-year-old from getting the one thing that will end a tantrum. We hope he gets it together so he can make it to kindergarten!!!
