Source: Cassy Athena/Getty Images / Getty Shaunie O’Neal Posts About Son Shareef’s Heart Surgery Shaq and shaunie O’Neal’s son Shareef had a promising collegiate basketball career lined up for himself at UCLA…however a health emergency put things on pause . The O’Neals announced last September that Shareef’s doctors discovered a major heart issue that would require surgery , causing him to have to sit out his Freshman year with the team. Today happened to be the big day for Shareef’s surgery. Though she’s optimistic about the outcome of her son’s operation, Shaunie was honest about her difficulty as a mother watching her baby go through something she couldn’t shield him from. As she shared with her Instagram followers: This morning was by far my toughest moment being a Mom. If only I could take his place today. Could I at least go with him in that operating room and hold his hand. Separating from him as he was wheeled off to surgery was heartbreaking. THATS MY BABY! I don’t care how old, how big, how grown my kids get I still want to protect them. I had no control over any of this. But there is a God, I trust and believe He is in there with my baby right now and has complete control. #prayforreef @shareefoneal #mybaby That has to be a tough moment as a mom. War Machine: Captured, Arrested For Christy Mack Assault

Jonathan Koppenhaver, a.k.a. War Machine, has been arrested in California and charged with the assault on Christy Mack he allegedly carried out last week. War Machine was apprehended in a hotel room outside Los Angeles. He was caught by U.S. Marshals and local police in Simi Valley, Calif., his hometown. He was in a hotel room with pizza and a small amount of cash. The fugitive MMA fighter, on the run since last weekend, did not put up a fight. He is being held without bond on a fugitive from justice federal charge. War Machine is accused of savagely beating Christy Mack last Friday morning, leaving her with 18 broken bones and a lacerated liver, police said. Koppenhaver later Tweeted: “The cops will never give me fair play, never believe me. Still deciding what to do but at the end of the day it’s all just heart breaking.” On Tuesday, authorities issued a warrant for Koppenhaver, charging him with several counts of battery, assault with a deadly weapon and other crimes. Mack, meanwhile, posted several pictures of her severe injuries and released her version of events as the porn community rallied to raise money for her. The adult film star also alleges that Koppenhaver stabbed her several times and that he had beaten up her previously before they broke up in May. Cops went to War Machine’s home in San Diego to remove two of his exotic snakes; Dog the Bounty Hunter , who vowed to hunt him down, was also present. Tracy Morgan Out of Hospital, Headed to Rehab

Nearly two weeks after the car crash that put Tracy Morgan in critical condition , the actor/comedian was released from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital today. Morgan will now be admitted to an undisclosed rehab facility where he will work to repair damage caused by his injuries which include a broken femur. At one point, it was rumored that the injuries were so severe that Morgan’s leg would be amputated . While that thankfully turned out not to be true, the June 7 wreck on the New Jersey Turnpike did result in the death of Morgan’s close friend James McNair, as well as in vehicular manslaughter charges for truck driver Kevin Roper , who police now believer was speeding through a construction zone at the time of the accident. There is no word on how long Morgan will need to be in rehab, but his rep stated that the comic still has “a long way to go.” Morgan was scheduled to begin filming a series for the FX network prior to the crash. Producers have assured Tracy and his team that his job will be waiting for him whenever he is fully recovered. We wish him a speedy recovery… Rich Homie Quan Hospitalized In Atlanta After Seizures, Severe Head Injury Rich Homie Quan, most famous for last summer’s hit song “ Some Type Of Way ,” suffered multiple seizures on an Atlanta video set this evening, causing him to collapse and suffer a rather serious head injury. He’s got a promising career on the horizon and a baby on the way , so we certainly hope he’ll be alright. TMZ Reports: Rich Homie Quan just got rushed to a hospital after suffering TWO seizures during a music video shoot … TMZ has learned. According to Quan’s rep … the rapper was shooting a video with Problem in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park, and about an hour ago he suffered back-to-back seizures. We’re told when Quan hit the ground … he smashed his head badly, paramedics were called … and he was taken to an Atlanta hospital for emergency treatment. His condition is unknown right now. Quan — one of the hottest new rappers — was just featured on XXL mag’s 2014 Freshman class issue. This story is still developing, and we’ll have updates for you as they come.

Stephanie Bongiovi Charges Dropped After Heroin Overdose

Jon Bon Jovi’s daughter Stephanie Bongiovi will not face criminal charges after her alleged heroin overdose at Hamilton College this week. The Oneida County (N.Y.) District Attorney’s Office says it is dismissing all criminal charges against the rock legend’s 19-year-old daughter. The 21-year-old male student involved with Stephanie Bongiovi’s overdose is also in the clear – legally, at least. Jon may have some words for him … Stephanie was arrested after being treated by emergency medical personnel following the alleged overdose in her dorm room on Wednesday. Police said afterward that a drug task force found small quantities of heroin in the Dunham Hall room, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Stephanie Bongiovi was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia. The 21-year-old guy also charged with drug possession. The D.A. says the charges were dropped, however, because of a New York State law that specifically prohibits prosecution of people experiencing a drug overdose. The people who help them seek medical care are also exempt from prosecution; the justification being that more lives will probably be saved this way. Here’s wishing Stephanie a speedy recovery, and hoping she gets the help she needs.

George Wendt Hospitalized

George Wendt, 64, who played beer-guzzling Norm Peterson on the popular sitcom, checked into the hospital on Sunday. He was to play Oscar Madison in the stage production starting Nov. 9. Wendt is a Chicago native and performed in the city#39;s Second City comedy troupe. “George is family to us at Northlight and we wish him well for a complete and speedy recovery,” Odd Couple director B.J. Jones tells the Chicago Sun-Times. “He will be missed in the rehearsal room and on stage.”
