Post-Midterm Casualty: Donald Trump Forces Jeff Sessions To Resign As Attorney General

Image via Taylor Hill/WireImage/Getty Jeff Session Pushed Out As Attorney General Donald Trump is a dumba$$, but he has enough sense to know when things won’t help his cause. For literally months now Trump has been badgering and bullying the now former Attorney General from both Twitter and press conference podiums. The thought among political talking heads was that Trump wouldn’t fire Sessions prior to the midterm election because it would look bad on him and ultimately affect the vote. Well, the midterms aren’t even 24 hours from being closed and Trump has finally pushed Sessions out the airplane. According to CNN , Sessions had submitted a resignation letter that leaves no doubt as to why he is vacating his position. It begins: Dear Mr. President, At your request, I am submitting my resignation… Translation (in our own words): “Here, you sniveling son-of-a-b!t¢#, take this f***ing resignation and shove it up your orange a$$!” We damn sure won’t miss Jeff Sessions, he’s one of the worst Attorney Generals we’ve ever seen and at his very best he’s a bigot who has no regard for Black lives or people of color. That said, Trump is really trying to get this Mueller investigation out the paint and Jeff Session was one of the few things in his way. Scary times.

See the original post here:

Source: Jessica McGowan / Getty With so much uncertainty the day after the Elections in Georgia, many people are wondering, what’s next for the Governor’s race?  Brian Kemp and  Stacey Abrams after running at about 50% v 49% respectively. In Georgia a candidate has to receive more than 50% of the votes, if not the other candidate can request a run off be held. Georgia is the only state that uses the majority voting runoff system for general elections. If a run off were to take place, if would be held on Tuesday, December 4th. Any voter registered before Oct. 9th, will be eligible in the runoff election. Will There Be A Runoff In The Georgia Governor’s Race?

Stacey Abrams Plans To Wait For EVERY Vote To Be Counted In Too-Close-To-Call GA Gubernatorial Race

Stacey Abrams Does Not Concede, Anticipates Runoff For GA Governor While most of the day’s election results have been counted and logged, a few key races are still a toss-up over into the wee hours of the morning. Stacey Abrams, aiming to be the first Black female state governor in US history, is running a close race with Republican gubernatorial hopeful Brian Kemp in Georgia . At this hour, Brian currently holds about 50.8% of the vote, while Abrams has snagged 48.3%, with about 99% of the votes counted. Around 1:40 am EST, Stacey took to the podium at her campaign headquarters and let it be known that she has no plans to concede the race . She stated that every vote will be counted, and she and the rest of the GA Dems anticipate a runoff to decide who will ultimately hold the governor’s seat. This one is NOT a quitter! Hopefully once every single vote has been logged (those that weren’t suppressed by sneaky tactics and suspicious circumstances , of course…) we’ll all see what’s really what. We will fight for every vote. The best is yet to come. #gapol pic.twitter.com/KKPqE9fMVw — Stacey Abrams (@staceyabrams) November 7, 2018 GA, you may need to get ready to head back to those polls in the near future… Prince Williams/WireImage/Paras Griffin/Getty Images/Twitter/YouTube

Andrew Gillum Concedes Gubernatorial Race In Florida To Republican Ron DeSantis

Image via Chris O’Meara-Pool/Getty Images Andrew Gillum Concedes Florida Governor Race To Ron DeSantis Despite a swell of support and an influx of 11th-hour celebrity endorsements , Andrew Gillum has conceded the Florida gubernatorial race to Republican opponent Ron DeSantis. Despite numbers that were deemed “too close to call” at the hour by NBC — Gillum secured 48.9& of the vote while Desantis held 49.9% — the democratic candidate announced his concession in a speech given from his Tallahassee campaign headquarters around 10:45 PM. As he stated in his speech (via NBC News ): “Even though I won’t be the next governor of Florida, I still plan to be on the front lines. We still have to be willing to show up every single day and demand our seat at the table. I still believe and I still trust in the voters. I still believe that there is more of us that believe in what is common and what is decent.” A BIG loss for the democratic party and the anticipated “Blue Wave” this election was set to bring. Jesus Take The Wheel: Uber Driver Charged With Manslaughter After 15-Year-Old Passenger Dies

Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images Uber Driver Gets Charged With Manslaughter For Death Of Teenage Passenger A 29-year-old  Uber driver has been charged with manslaughter after a teenage passenger he let ‘car surf’ on the roof of his vehicle fell to his death. Ryan Mullen, 15, had been ‘car surfing’ on the roof of the Danyal Cheema’s vehicle on September 23 in Huntington. He ended up falling and subsequently suffered a traumatic brain injury, dying hours after he arrived at a friend’s house following the ride, Suffolk County District Attorney Tim Sini said. The whole situation began when they went to a 7Eleven store and, according to Sini, they asked the driver to car surf. “ This was an incredibly bad decision by the defendant, a bad decision by the boys involved, obviously,’ Tim Sini said. “ But at the end of the day, that defendant is an adult contracted to safely bring those boys home, and he failed to do that.” The driver, 24-year-old Danyal Cheema, is now being charged with second-degree manslaughter and was arraigned in Suffolk County Criminal Court on Monday morning. He made no comment at the proceeding and was ordered held on $200,000 bail. Along with the charge, his license was also suspended. The incident took place just after midnight in Huntington Station on September 23. Prosecutors have said that Mullen was with two other teens and that Cheema accepted $40 to allow Mullen and another teen to “car surf” on the roof of his Toyota Highlander SUV. He was said to be driving at 30 miles per hour when Mullen fell off the roof. Instead of taking the injured teen to a hospital, Cheema drove him to a friend’s house where Mullen died later that night. The medical examiner’s office ruled the young boy’s cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head. His parents, Janice and Matt Mullen, said they don’t want any family to suffer a loss similar to theirs again. Janice told  ABC7 Eyewitness News : “This can’t happen again, no one should have to go through this pain.” In a statement on the incident, Uber said: “Words cannot describe how deeply troubled we are by this incident. Our thoughts are with the rider’s family during this difficult time. This driver has been permanently removed from the app.”
