Oksana Grigorieva to Sue Mel Gibson For All Kinds of Stuff; Probably Vice Versa

Despite Mel Gibson’s no contest plea to battery last week, Oksana Grigorieva plans to file a lawsuit alleging battery, emotional distress and defamation. Sources close to Gibson say he will wage legal war if Oksana does so. Forget settling out of court … it is ON like legal Donkey Kong this time around. The actor will “gladly” file his own lawsuit against the woman he says put a $15 million price on the Mel Gibson tapes in return for keeping quiet. It could be just beginning for Mel and Oksana … Oksana’s lawyer, Daniel Horowitz, said “our position hasn’t changed” regarding Mel’s no contest plea and her plans to sue for myriad damages. This looming lawsuit likely played a huge role in Mel’s no contest plea on misdemeanor battery charges, for which he will serve no jail time. Pleading no contest subjected him to similar sentencing as a plea of guilty, but there was no admission of guilt that will bolster her claims. Basically, he denied her account before, he’s likely to keep denying it now, and Daniel Horowitz and Blair Berk are going to bill a lot of hours. [Photo: Fame Pictures]

Mel Gibson Reaches A Plea Deal In Battery Case

Actor must complete 16 hours of community service and enroll in a 12-month domestic-violence program. By Jayson Rodriguez Mel Gibson arrives at the Los Angeles Courthouse Airport branch on Friday Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images Mel Gibson and his legal team reached a deal with prosecutors Friday (March 11) that will see the actor avoid jail time after being charged with misdemeanor battery earlier in the day. The actor appeared before a Los Angles judge and pleaded no contest to the charges. Under the terms of his agreement, Gibson must complete 16 hours of community service, enroll in a 12-month domestic-violence program and pay an assortment of court fees and fines. Gibson also must obey a strict order to not annoy, harass or threaten anyone with violence while serving out his various punishments. The actor has already begun reporting to a domestic-violence counselor and was ordered to submit a progress report during a status hearing June 9. By that date, the actor is also required to compete his community service, which he’s scheduled to perform at the Mending Kids International facility. Gibson’s deadline to complete his year of counseling is March 30, 2012. The actor has 36 hours to turn himself in for booking. The deal concludes an ugly split between Gibson and ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his young daughter. The two dated briefly after Gibson and his wife of 26 years, Robyn, separated. Gibson and Grigorieva were ensnarled in a bitter custody dispute that was compounded by lawsuits the two filed against each other. Gibson accused Grigorieva of extortion and she alleged Gibson physically assaulted her.

Chris Brown Restraining Order: Lifted!

Two years after making contact with her so severely that she lost consciousness and he nearly landed in jail, Chris Brown is free to contact Rihanna again. A judge just lifted the restraining order prohibiting Brown from going near Rihanna, so long as he does not harass, annoy, or molest his former girlfriend. Brown appeared in court in L.A., where a judge replaced Rihanna’s restraining order with a less-severe Level One order, stipulating the terms above. THE OLD DAYS : This VMA hotness seems like years ago . Rihanna was not in court, but her attorney Donald Etra was, telling the judge that his client has no objection to the new order and new arrangement. It’s unclear if the two actually plan on having contact, or if this was just a formality – Brown’s complied with probation, so the order should be lifted . If nothing else, award shows could be a little less awkward now.

Mel Gibson Worried Oksana Might Skate

Mel Gibson isn’t nearly as worried about being charged with domestic violence as he is about his baby mama NOT being charged with extortion, TMZ reports. Either Mel believes he won’t face a domestic violence charge or he just feels that strongly Oksana Grigorieva tried to bilk him, but that’s where his mind is. He believes there is more than enough evidence to prove Oksana used the explosive Mel Gibson rants as leverage to score a $15 million payday last May. MOTHER OF ALL BREAKUPS : They don’t get any worse than this . However, he fears politics of prosecution could get in the way. As for the alleged violence, he claims he only slapped her once – to protect their daughter. Oksana’s ex Timothy Dalton may testify against Gibson, reports suggest, but the credibility of Oksana has been called into question on many occasions. The D.A. is currently mulling over the two case files, with the investigation having wrapped last week. So far, no decision has been made regarding either. The couple is also actively engaged in a custody fight over Lucia, 1.

Justin Bieber Speaks on Sex! Abortion! Politics!

Somewhere between funny talk show interviews and award ceremonies , Justin Bieber found time this month to sit down with Rolling Stone . Aside from quickly closing his computer as soon as the reporter commented on a wallpaper photo of himself and Selena Gomez in front of a sunset (AWWW!), Justin touched on a number of topics. Many of them controversial. Check out his views on sex, abortion and Canada below. On intercourse: “I don’t think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them. I think you should just wait for the person you’re… in love with.” On abortion : “I really don’t believe in abortion. It’s like killing a baby?” What if it’s the result of rape? “Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.” On health care : “Canada’s the best country in the world. We go to the doctor and we don’t need to worry about paying him, but here [America], your whole life, you’re broke because of medical bills. My bodyguard’s baby was premature, and now he has to pay for it. In Canada, if your baby’s premature, he stays in the hospital as long as he needs to, and then you go home.”
