On November 20th, after being a fan of Justin since 2007, I…

On November 20th, after being a fan of Justin since 2007, I finally got to live my dream. Last year, once I hit 9k followers on my Twitter (@bieberisakeeper) I decided to speak out about bullying awareness and talk about my very own experiences being bullied. I created an anti-bullying campaign which I named the “Kill Them With Kindness” campaign – after one of Justin & Alfredo’s favorite sayings , and so far have raised over $300 for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation. After a year of hard work, and tons of hours spent promoting my wristbands, my good karma finally caught up to me. I sent a few of my anti-bullying wristbands and a letter explaining my campaign/love for Justin to the director of all the radio stations in my small home town : my dream quickly became a reality. I was taking a nap after school on November 15th, and when I woke up, I had a tweet, phone call, and email from the radio director. I called him back, and after thanking me for my wristbands and calling me a hero and dedicated Belieber, he asked me if I’ve ever seen Justin in concert. Once I said I had, he replied with, “Good, because you know the show in Pittsburgh is sold out right? – The only thing I could get you were meet and greets.” As soon as the words “meet and greets” escaped his lips, I started to bawl on the phone. He said he’d sent my letter to someone in Justin’s crew, and they had given him two meet and greets because they believed I deserved to meet Justin . It was absolutely unreal. For the five days to come before the concert, I couldn’t eat, or sleep, or do anything. I couldn’t believe that after four years of being a Belieber, I was finally going to meet Justin. On November 20th, my grandma, mom, best friend and I drove 2 1/2 hours to Pittsburgh. We stood outside in the morning by the tour buses with a bunch of other beliebers, and I got a quick wave from Kenny Hamilton, who may I add, is absolutely adorable . We also talked to the security, and when they said Justin wouldn’t be coming out, we headed inside for the m&g. At about 3:10 we went inside to meet the guy from Justin’s crew who gave us meet and greets. Even after they put the purple m&g wristband on my arm – I couldn’t believe it. It seemed like forever waiting, but eventually, this lady named Lisa from Justin’s crew came and made an announcement that we would be starting soon. Unfortunately, we couldn’t give him anything, or take any of our own pics, or ask him to sign anything, but frankly, I didn’t care. I was meeting Justin freaking Bieber . We had to go in with six people, and I made 4 amazing other Belieber friends who were in the picture with me. We’ll share this moment forever. Soon the line started to move, and before I knew what was happening, I was only a few people away from meeting Justin Bieber. Kenny walked by and said hi, and when I asked him how he was, he replied, tired. He still smiled his perfect Kenny Hamilton smile though, even if he was exhausted. I had written about 7 letters and attached 7 of my anti-bullying wristbands to them, and since I couldn’t give anything personally to Justin, I dropped about five of the wristbands off with the gift guy before the m&g. Finally, it was our turn to meet Justin. I let my friend walk in first, and the security guards were quick to position us for our picture. Unfortunately, I wasn’t directly next to Justin. I’d like to tell you what the other girls looked like or even the security, but truth is, all I saw was Justin. It was like I had tunnel vision on steroids. All I saw was Bieber. My friend asked him if he could smile in our picture, and he replied, “Mmmm maybe,” with a little chuckle. And look at our picture. No smile. Biebs is a prankster and such a diva – I can’t help but love him even more. Once the picture was taken, I quickly stepped in front of Justin. He didn’t even seem real. Honestly, he’s perfect. Everything about him is just amazing. I looked him in the eyes, and I was like, “Justin! Can I have a hug please?” And then the security began like pushing me out. Justin put his arm out and blocked the security and gave me the biggest, warmest, most perfect hug on the entire planet, and then he looked me in the eyes, and was like “Thank you sweetie.” No Justin, thank you. Haha! It was amazing. Everyone I had gone in with was like shaking and crying and I was still in disbelief. It was just an indescribable experience. After that, my friend and I had gotten tickets in section 107, which was all the way in the back of the arena. At about 6 at night, we checked for tickets again, and this time, there were floor seats available! We ended up being 19th row on the floor! During the concert Alfredo came and walked next to me and I gave him a letter and a wristband and he hugged and thanked me . Justin’s concert was absolutely amazing, and remembering that I had met him only a few hours before was just insane. Honestly, I didn’t even realize all that had happened until the next morning when I was looking through my pictures. It was so surreal, and absolutely one of the best, if not the best, night of my life. Read the original here: On November 20th, after being a fan of Justin since 2007, I…

On October 20, 2012 I met Justin Bieber for the second time. My…

On October 20, 2012 I met Justin Bieber for the second time. My mom and I were driving 10 hours from Michigan to Minnesota for the concert. On our way there, we had to stop because it was late and we were tired. When we got to the hotel my mom got an email “Congratulations Melissa! You’re officially invited to attend the photo meet and greet TOMORROW NIGHT, October 20th in Minneapolis, Minnesota!” My mom and I both started to jump up and down in excitement. The first time I met Justin, I didn’t get a hug because he was sick. I had made it my goal to get my hug the Believe tour. We were both way too excited to sleep now but we went to our room and got everything ready for the next day. When we got to the venue, we waited outside and after a while we saw some dancers, his bass player, and the photographer. We gave them all bracelets that say ‘BELIEVE’ on them. (We gave those to everyone on the crew we met) We also showed them the necklace that my mom made for Justin. They all said he would love it. It was finally time to go pick up the meet and greet passes and go wait in line. While waiting, I saw Dan Kanter so I went over and gave him the necklace my mom made for him and a bracelet. He thanked me and said he remembered me from the last tour because of the picture book we gave him. I almost died when he said that! We took a picture with him wearing the necklace then he said he had to go check on his friends that were going to meet Justin. In line, we met two girls who had never met him before and we told them that if us four got to go together, we would let them stand next to Justin in the picture since I already have. When we got near the front of the line, we called Kenny over and gave him a bracelet. He thanked us and told us to have fun! Now we were at the front. Just about 30 seconds away from meeting the most amazing guy EVER. When we walked through the curtain, his grandma, grandpa, and Ryan Butler were all lined up against the wall just watching everyone’s reactions to seeing Justin. They all had the biggest smiles. We walked over to Justin and he went to put an arm around my mom and said “Hi mom!!” My mom said “Hi honey! I’ve already met you, let her stand next to you,” and put the other girl in her place. We took the picture and as we were about to get rushed out. I turned to Justin and said “Can I please have a hug?” He smiled and said, “Of course! Come here!” And I got my hug. After 2 years of waiting, it finally happened. Then again, as we were being rushed out, I told Justin I had gifts for him. You aren’t supposed to be able to give him the gifts personally, but as they tried taking it from me, someone stepped in and said “No. SHE has to give that to him personally! Let her give that to him!” I gave him the necklace and the BELIEVE bracelet and he told me “Thank you.” I said “You’re welcome. My mom actually made the necklace for you.” He looked down at the necklace, then up to my mom, then back into my eyes and said “Thank you so much. This is so cool!” I told him you’re welcome and said goodbye. I walked out and completely lost it. I had just stared into Justin Bieber’s eyes. He held eye contact that whole time! And we were practically holding hands as I gave him the gift! We found out on Monday (on our way home from the concert the next day), that he put the necklace on right after we left. Scrappy also posted a picture on Sunday of him and Justin, and Justin had the necklace on again! I couldn’t believe he actually wore it. We were in shock. I also saw him on October 21, October 23, and October 24. On October 23, I actually helped 2 girls get tickets from Scooter, telling him how much they deserved to get in. It was a great feeling and I’ll never forget it. Thank you Justin, Scooter, Kenny, Dan, and everyone else I met that past weekend. I love you all and I’ll see you guys in November with your blankets! -JoHanna (@JoHannaBeliebes) Link: On October 20, 2012 I met Justin Bieber for the second time. My…

My Bieber experience started on October 31, 2012 on Justin’s off…

My Bieber experience started on October 31, 2012 on Justin’s off day in Memphis . Me and a friend got downtown at 9 a.m. and started on our search. We knew he’d be at one of the three hotels that celebrities have stayed at before but didn’t know which one. After a couple of hours, we stopped and asked a police man what he knew. He led us to the exact hotel Justin and his crew were staying at. We finally saw some tour buses so we knew we were at the right place. We met some backup singers, dancers, and later we saw Justin’s grandparents! They were so sweet and even let us get a picture with them. We kept asking where Justin was to all the hotel staff and Justin’s crew but everyone kept saying he wasn’t there. Later on we found out he was about 20 mins away at our local mall but we wouldn’t have made it there in time . We decided to go eat dinner and just wait for him to return to his hotel. We were downtown for 10 hours looking for him but no luck. I also entered the BieberFever contest a couple of weeks earlier and had been checking my phone nonstop all day hoping for an email. While we were at dinner, I checked my email and there it was: “Congratulations Holli!” I started freaking out! I couldn’t believe it!!! After that email we both just went home. I had to figure out what I was going to wear. November 1 came and I was so excited. After we got our wristbands the line seemed like forever. It was finally our turn and when we walked in, I couldn’t believe I was finally meeting him. He looked beautiful. He said, “Hey love” and we all said hey back. A man put us all in our spots and I just couldn’t stop staring at Justin. I was so happy. After the picture was taken the man tried to rush us out but I asked Justin for a hug first and he gave me one and smiled. My friend started balling when we walked out and I was just in shock. We finally met him! The concert was amazing of course. I was right by the cat walk and touched Carly Rae Jepsen’s hand and Justin’s while he was singing “Baby” shirtless! I even got it on video. Bottom line, that entire day was amazing and I wish I could keep reliving it. You truly need to believe and be determined to meet him and it will happen. Never say never. -@holliann93 Excerpt from: My Bieber experience started on October 31, 2012 on Justin’s off…

The Real Housewives of Miami: She Beat Me to the Tweet!

The Real Housewives of Miami gossip, back stab, and cry “She Beat me to the Tweet!”  We recap all of the “nice nasties” in our THG +/- review. I have one thought when I watch this show. Miami is gorgeous. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the women, at least not after you spend some time with them.   After last week’s debacle at Mynt, Romain and Joanna need to talk.  He’s fed up, with reason.  When Joanna plays it off like it was only because she was drunk, Romain shoots back “Maybe you’re drunk every day.”  Minus 12.  That’s a big problem.   He asked her not to drink so much and cause any drama on his special night. So much for that.  He needs more than an apology.  He needs to know she’ll change. Minus 10 . Don’t hold your breath, Pal. Then in another twist, Joanna says she got a call at 4am from a staff member at Mynt. They said Romain was their making out with a dancer. So if Joanna thought this was real, why not get out of bed and head down to the club?  Was she too tired, or too hungover to care? Of course the one thing she must do is tell her sister.  Minus 8 . I know she has to tell someone but her sister already hates Romain. No good can come of this. Minus 11 .  Marta has to spread the word to the other ladies.  There’s a surprise.  She says if it’s true she’ll cut his balls off.  That might carry more weight if she weren’t leeching off of him and her sister.  It’s past time for Marta to move out and get her own place. Across town Adriana is being photographed by a famous photographer for an art show.  Plus 10 .  Sounds like fun.  The twist is that he wants shots of her topless. At first Adriana is completely against it.  Then she waffles.  Minus 7 . One minute she’s incredibly uncomfortable and the next she’s taking her shirt off.  That didn’t take much encouragement. In the end, plus 14 .  She’s a beautiful woman and the photos looked great…at least what we could see in the fuzzy televised versions. And a plus 11 to Frederic who in one of the funnier moves of the night whipped out his iPhone to make sure he got some shots for his private collection. The photos are great but the art show is weird.  Not necessarily the art itself but the guests. Minus 15 to Lea.  She’s such a b*tch!  Who views a friend’s portrait and asks how much airbrushing they did?  Or how about when she sees that someone bought the photo and accuses Adriana of being the buyer.   Even if she was kidding it was pretty lame but apparently Adriana doesn’t see it that way.  She give Lea a pass on all of it but happily bashes Karent for much lesser offenses.  Minus 9 because Adriana’s downright cruel about it as she mimic Karent in front of their friends. And I’d happily hand out extra points if someone could stop her from screeching “She Beat me to the Tweet!”  Really.  She tweeted before you could.  Oh, the horror. Maybe she learned the art of back biting from good friend Lea who drags James, aka Elaine to the event with the intention of bashing Marysol some more in public.  Plus 12 to Ana for trying to stand up for her friend. Karent’s taking it from all sides this week.  She’s got Lea and Adriana tearing her down and her mother telling her she hates Rodolfo.  Unfortunately I’ve got to side with Mom on this one.  If Karent’s looking to get married, I don’t believe the problems is that the timing isn’t right.  I think the guy isn’t right.   Lisa and Lenny have real problems.  They’ve been trying to have a baby for three years to no avail.  Add on three miscarriages and they’re feeling the strain.   Plus 15 to Lisa who seems to be one of the few people bothered by all of the gossip and back stabbing going on by these women. Everyone else just enjoys the drama. The ladies all show up for Gay Christmas…or Winterfest and Lea’s still making snarky comments about Karent.  Minus 10 .  That seems to be her gift. Well, that and marrying rich. Joanna dancing is the main attraction but they don’t really show it.  Just odd cuts of her in different poses.  Minus 8 . Was she that bad? And I wouldn’t bash Ana for having a stylist…what Housewife doesn’t need one…but what is she paying her for?  That purple dress looked like it came off the rack at Target.  Minus 7 . Nothing against Target but these women pride themselves on their designer collections and that was one boring, frumpy looking outfit.   There was no sobbing this week, or drunken binges but we did get lots of back stabbing and some nudity so in the end it all evens out.  ‘Til next week. Episode total = -35!             Season total = -132!

Freaky Love Lover R. Kelly Promises Us Some Dirrrty New Music Is Coming Soon!

Black Panties ya heard? That’s right. Black Panties. And no, while it may be his favorite color of ladies (and gents) undergarments, you guessed wrong. Black Panties is the title of R. Kelly’s upcoming album. The Pied Pisser Piper made sure we all know that he isn’t leaving that raunch that made him famous behind. “Absolutely not, and I tell people all the time man,” Kelly said in a phone interview last week. “Make no mistake about it, R. Kelly is not going anywhere, it’s just that R. Kelly has such a unique talent, and I’ve been blessed to be able to do all type of genres of music … I’m exploring my gift right now.” Kelly’s recent “Write Me Back” and 2010’s “Love Letter” were a departure of sorts for the singer-songwriter, whose hits include classics like “Your Body’s Callin’.” He described those acclaimed albums as a way of taking a break from his typical explicit material to try something new. “When you’ve done twentysomething years, man, of giving people what they want, and satisfying people — people like to say they’re making babies off your music, they’re doing all this — it makes me feel good, but at the same time, it makes me say, ‘OK, now it’s time to go and do something that’s in me that I want to do and get out,’” he said…his upcoming album will be on more familiar R. Kelly ground. “The name of my next album is ‘Black Panties’ — that’s my next ‘12 Play,’” he said, referring to his classic album filled with sexual material. “I’m going to have some fun on it.” Kelly also plans to have fun on his upcoming “Single Ladies” North American tour, which kicks off Oct. 13 in Columbia, S.C., and runs through December. Kelly said he aims for it to be “one big giant ‘Dating Game.’” “We really want the single ladies up there, and where guys know there’s single ladies, they’re going to be in the mix, because they’re looking for a woman,” he said. SMH…can’t say we’re still able to shake off his pedophilia “stint” long enough to be too excited about this. Source Images via Twitter

‘Brave,’ ‘Hunger Games’ And The History Of Lady Archers

As Princess Merida joins the big-screen leagues of Katniss Everdeen, we look at the sport’s storied past, in Hobnobbing. By Amy Wilkinson Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” Photo: A fiery bow-and-arrow-wielding heroine not named Katniss Everdeen? Color us intrigued! This weekend, Pixar will take aim at the box-office bull’s-eye with its first foray into the fairy-tale princess pic. ” Brave ” follows a young Scottish royal named Merida, who bucks her parents’ wishes, insisting on paving her own path — with bow firmly in hand. Of course, the animated flick is only the latest this year to feature an adept bow-woman (or bowman). There was Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) in “The Avengers,” William (Sam Claflin) in “Snow White and the Huntsman” and, our obvious favorite, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in ” The Hunger Games .” Unsurprisingly, this slew of big-screen portrayals has helped revive interest in the ancient sport , with more and more amateur archers sizing up their targets. But let’s be clear about one thing: Bow-besotted babes are nothing new. Lady archers have been around practically since the dawn of time. Follow me down their storied path: Like most grand ideas, the concept of a woman and her bow has roots in Greek mythology. “Amazon” may be a compliment for a leggy lady nowadays, but maybe it shouldn’t be, considering the ancient archers were often depicted with their left breast cut off to make wielding their weaponry simpler. The Greek goddess of the hunt, Artemis, was also frequently pictured holding a bow and arrow (sans missing mammary glands). Throughout the Middle Ages, archery served dual purposes: fending off enemies and hunting prey for sustenance. But by the Elizabethan era, it had become a posh pastime, with proper ladies learning the sport — along with dancing and riding — as part of their studies. (P.E. was soooo much cooler back then.) In fact, Queen Elizabeth I herself (daughter of Henry VIII) is said to have been a skilled archer. A few hundred years later, the sport made its Olympics debut in 1900, with women taking up arms at the 1904 games. The event took a hiatus from the Games between 1920 and 1972, reappearing at the Munich Olympics. And while plenty of Hollywood heavyweights have learned the skill for a movie, one took it upon herself to learn for the sport of it. Actress Geena Davis made it all the way to the semifinal rounds of the Olympic trials in 1999, hoping to compete in the 2000 games in Sydney. The games and a gold medal were not in Davis’ future, but she already has one gilded goody (namely, an Oscar) to console herself. And speaking of actresses and archery, the last few decades have offered up a bumper crop of bow roles, from Gwyneth Paltrow in “Emma” to Saoirse Ronan in “Hannah.” And, of course, Lawrence in “The Hunger Games.” All we have so say is, may the odds be ever in your favor, lady archers! Is Katniss your favorite fictional archer? Do you plan to see “Brave” this weekend? Sound off in the comments below and tweet me @amymwilk with your thoughts and suggestions for future columns! Katy Perry Doesn’t Want To ‘Hide’ From Divorce

‘I couldn’t avoid the elephant in the room,’ she tells MTV News of including Russell Brand in ‘Part of Me.’ By Kara Warner Katy Perry Photo: Katy Perry ‘s feature-film debut is every bit a concert movie as it is an emotional biography of sorts. For every scene that features her pop-star persona and killer stadium performances, there are several quieter, much more emotional scenes surrounding Perry’s very public split with Russell Brand that make “Katy Perry: Part of Me” a wholly moving film. When MTV News caught up with Perry on Friday (June 22), we asked why she wanted to include footage of the moment when Perry realized her relationship with Brand was over and she couldn’t do anything but sob. “In my personal struggle, you see me not changing and not giving up on this dream that I’ve had my whole life. Hopefully people are inspired by that,” Perry said. “You don’t always see me with all the gorgeous lighting and makeup on and all that. I think it’s fine. Hollywood is so fake and people need to realize that people are just people, and you, too, don’t need to be born into something or have money or have whatever product someone is hawking on you. Find out what your gift is and nurture it.” Because the film is her film, there is naturally only one side of the Perry/Brand breakup shown, so we asked the “Wide Awake” singer if she felt pressure in revealing what happened to her and whether she wonders when and if another side to their story will come out in the media. “The truth will always prevail,” Perry said. “Everything has to be handled with integrity and appropriately, and it’s not nice to air all your dirty laundry, because that stinks, so I had to be very delicate with the situation, but I couldn’t avoid the elephant in the room,” she explained. “If you were to have seen that movie and walked out and [my breakup] wasn’t at all mentioned like it never happened, you’d be like, ‘Eh, this is weird, what is she trying to hide?’ I don’t like to hide.” Check out everything we’ve got on ” Katy Perry: Part of Me. ” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Adam Yauch Of Beastie Boys Dead At 47

Rapper has been battling cancer since 2009. By Gil Kaufman Adam Yauch Photo: Mick Hutson/ Getty Images Adam Yauch, one of the founding members of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rap trio the Beastie Boys, died on Friday (May 4) at the age of 47 after a lengthy battle with cancer. The news was announced on the Global Grind website, which is run by Def Jam Records co-founder Russell Simmons, the man who signed the Beasties to their first label deal. “GlobalGrind is confirming this very sad news,” read the post. “One of our heroes, Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys has passed this morning after a long bout with cancer. Our prayers go out to the family of Adam and the entire Beastie Boys crew.” For photos of Yauch through the years, click here. Rumors about Yauch’s ongoing battle with cancer were sparked anew last month when the rapper was not present alongside fellow band members Adam Horovitz and Michael Diamond at the group’s induction into the Hall of Fame
as just the third rap group to ever achieve that honor. Yauch had been off the public scene since 2009 when he was diagnosed with cancer after a tumor was discovered on his salivary gland
. His treatment delayed the release of the group’s 2011 album, Hot Sauce Committee, Part 2
and it had kept the normally tour-happy trio off the road for the past three years. With his gravelly voice and laconic rapping style, Yauch stood out in the trio, whose other members tended to have faster, more nasal flows. He formed the B-Boys in 1979 while still in high school as a hardcore punk band, but their sound progressed over the years until they emerged as one of the most successful rap groups in history. After getting signed to Def Jam in 1984 they released the smash Licensed to Ill , which included such hits as “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right To Party,” “Brass Monkey,” “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” and “She’s Crafty.” Their next album, the psychedelic1988 release Paul’s Boutique set a new high-water mark for the art of sampling and stands today as one of the finest examples of the art. Like their label mates and friends in Run-DMC, the B-Boys excelled at seamlessly interweaving their vocals, trading off lines and verses at lightning speed. Amid the barrage of verbal gymnastics, though, Yauch’s voice stood out for its world-weariness and unhurried cadence on tracks like “High Plains Drifter” and his tongue-twisting, double-time disco breaking showcase midway through the 12-minute Boutique epic, “B-Boy Bouillabaisse.” Though all three Boys emerged on the national scene with snotty, party hardy attitudes, it was Yauch who grew into the most centered and serious member of the group. In addition to playing bass, he also directed many of the group’s videos under the pseudonym Nathaniel Hornblower. Rarely seen in public, Hornblower made a legendary appearance at the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards, bum rushing R.E.M. as his alter ego after they took the Best Direction award over Beastie pal Spike Jonze for his landmark work in their cop-show spoofing clip “Sabotage.” He was also instrumental in organizing a series of all-star concerts between 1996 and 2001 to raise awareness of the repression of the Tibetan people. The shows, which combined activism and music, featured sets from traditional Buddhist acts and speakers as well the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, De La Soul, Beck, Foo Fighters, U2, Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band, R.E.M. and Pearl Jam. Yauch, a practicing Buddhist who revised some of his young and wild lyrics in concert later in life, went on to direct many more video for his band, as well as the kaleidoscopic 2006 Beasties live movie, “Awesome, I F—in’ Shot That!” He also formed Oscilloscope Laboratories, a film company that distributed a number of documentaries and features, including “We Need To Talk About Kevin,” “Dark Days,” “Meek’s Cutoff,” “Beautiful Losers” and the Banksy doc “Exit Through the Gift Shop.” Share your thoughts about Adam Yauch in the comments section.
