Nicki Minaj Calls ‘Roman In Moscow’ A ‘Teaser’

‘It’s the wackest thing on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, ‘ Nicki tells MTV News of sassy new single. By Christina Garibaldi Nicki Minaj at the Billboard Women in Music event on Friday Photo: D. Dipasupil/FilmMagic NEW YORK — All the Barbies get ready, Roman is back! Nicki Minaj released “Roman in Moscow” on Friday (December 2), the first track off her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. On the brand-new, hard-hitting single, Minaj’s foul-mouthed alter ego Roman Zolanski spits out insults in his rapid-fire flow. It seems safe to say that Roman is fully recharged, and perhaps even taking shots at Nicki’s rival Lil’ Kim . “I told you, bitch, last year / I’m a rap-bitch nightmare / That’s why I call you Buzz Lightyear,” Roman says. ” ‘Cause by the time you start buzzin’, bitch, you gonna have white hair!” MTV News caught up with Minaj at the Billboard Women in Music event on Friday afternoon and she talked to us about the track. ” ‘Roman in Moscow is like a teaser to Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which will drop on Valentine’s Day,” Minaj said. “When I say it’s a teaser, it’s like a trailer to the movie, it’s like setting the stage and I just wanted to touch the surface. It’s the wackest thing on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. ” On the song, Roman is fired up and wreaking havoc all over Moscow. “Well, he was there [in Moscow] secretly because [alter ego] Martha wanted him to go there, so they put him in this thing with monks and nuns; they were trying to rehabilitate him,” Minaj explained. “But I can’t tell exactly what happened, you’ll just see it in the video format, but let’s just say he got out of there.” Minaj added that the video for “Roman in Moscow” “will be shot real soon.” The MC is also celebrating her four 2012 Grammy nominations, including one for Best New Artist . Taylor Swift Cozies Up To Zach Gilford In ‘Ours’ Video

Taylor’s adorable new kitten Meredith also makes a cameo in just-released Speak Now clip. By Kara Warner Taylor Swift on the set of “Ours” Photo: Big Machine via Instagram That Taylor Swift sure does know how to work the “awww!” effect into her music, and even more so in her sweet and wholesome music videos, with their varying themes on love: whether it be lost, won or rekindled. Her latest clip is for the country-tinged ballad “Ours,” a bonus track from last year’s Speak Now, which debuted Friday evening (December 2) on E! Once again, Swift serves up nearly four minutes of sweetness. The video opens up on a generic office building, in all its beige-toned, boring glory, full of disgruntled employees. Enter a dressed-down Swift wearing very little makeup, slightly frizzy hair and a bland suit and skirt with office-worker-lady-standard sneakers. Throughout her workday, Swift gets jostled around in the elevator, harassed at her desk and defeated by a typically defiant copy machine and passes the time reminiscing about what we assume to be a lost love (played by “Friday Night Lights” cutie Zach Gilford), whom we see in cute flashback videos she plays on her work computer (which features a blink-and-you-miss-it wallpaper picture of Swift’s adorable new kitten, Meredith), then later via her iPad when she’s on the bus. The videos show Swift and Gilford playing in the leaves, snuggling together, Gilford playing with Meredith the scene-stealing kitten, playful wrestling on the couch, etc. As Swift’s workday winds down, she seems to get more smiley and excited, particularly when she leaves for the day, and we soon find out why — her lost love was overseas serving in the military, and she meets him at the airport for an adorably sweet hello-again embrace. As we mentioned before, it’s an “awww!” moment, which makes the video “awww”-dorable. What do you think of Taylor Swift’s latest video? Let us know in the comments below! DVD: Nothing Goes Viral Like Syphilis(-Themed TV Movies Starring Cloris Leachman)

If you haven’t already had friends leave you a message on your Facebook wall to get yourself over to Netflix Instant immediately to watch Someone I Touched , a 1975 TV-movie about a syphilis outbreak, let me be the one to tell you. The fact that Cloris Leachman, at 49, plays a pregnant housewife, and that she sings the theme song, is just the icing on the cake of looniness. (Not to mention the fact that Leachman was at that time starring in the spin-off sitcom Phyllis , making one long for the inevitable Sy-Phyllis mash-up.)

Movieline Has the Final Word on Conangate — and the First Interview with the Author

Back in February, Viking confirmed that Bill Carter, the bestselling author of the Late Shift had flown to Los Angeles to begin research on a new book chronicling the latest late night shakedown at NBC. Proof of the project arrived earlier this week online via cover art for The War For Late Night: When Leno Went Early and Television Went Crazy (pictured right) and a September release date. Anxious to hear more about the surefire bestseller, Movieline phoned Carter earlier this week to discuss the impending release date and whether Jay Leno is really as cold and calculating as Conan fans make him out to be.

Friday Night Lights’ Zach Gilford on His Big Episode, That Facebook Campaign, and the Series Finale

Friday Night Lights has always has passionate fans, but over the last few weeks, their fervor has been updated for the Facebook age. It’s due in large part to Zach Gilford’s shattering performance in the recent episode “The Son,” which found his character Matt Saracen grappling with his hated father’s death. Perhaps inspired by the grassroots activism that landed Betty White on Saturday Night Live , the website PopEater launched an unofficial Emmy campaign for Gilford (he’d be nominated in the guest actor category, since he went from regular to recurring this past season) and now it’s become a surging Facebook petition that’s brought a spotlight back to the acclaimed but underseen series. As he films an arc of episodes for the show’s fifth (and presumed-to-be final) season, Gilford rang Movieline to talk about filming the tough episode, the things we didn’t see, and what the FNL series finale will (and won’t) have in common with the final episode of lost.
