I’m not exactly up to date on my girl bands, ever since the Spice Girls broke up the industry hasn’t been the same, so I don’t really know much about this band called The Saturdays . While she might have come full-circle creatively, in the new issue of Us Weekly, the pop superstar admits she’s not the girl she used to be. “I’m at such a different point in my life now than I was back then,” she said of recording Femme Fatale, which shot to the top of the charts in its first week. “I’m more mature and much more hands-on now. I know exactly what I like and what I don’t like. I guess that can make the recording process pretty difficult, because I’m very particular about songs I put my voice on.” That perspective comes from years in the spotlight, as well as the responsibility of being a mom to her two sons, Jayden and Sean. “You have to think about all your decisions so much more carefully, because they are affecting your kids too,” she said. “My priorities have changed, and I do everything for [the boys]. They remind me what life is really all about. “They are my biggest fans. I make up songs and sing to them all the time,” she continued. “They like to watch me dance. In fact, they join in and do their own moves!” While her opening act is still in flux, Spears does know that both Jayden and Sean will be hitting the road with her for her Till the World Ends Tour . “They will be coming with me. I couldn’t go on tour without them!” she said. “I’m always very busy when I’m on the road, but I make sure to have quality time with them every single day.” Another one of her big fans is boyfriend Jason Trawick, whom she says complements her perfectly. “We have such a great time together! He makes me laugh, and we are so comfortable being ourselves. We like to stay home, order in, watch movies, go to dinner with friends. And we love getting away for the weekend. This past week I met Gabe from Cobra Starship and he challenged me via twitter to a dance off at the jingle ball show in Sacramento with The End. Because of my broken foot i couldnt thrash him..haha..so i decided to just play the drums a little bit instead. Playing the drums and using a broken foot on the pedal isnt easy so i dont know how “epic” this solo was but it was worth it. Gabe is the man and everyone in Cobra Starship are great people and we all had a lot of fun. By Jocelyn Vena Pauly D Photo: MTV News Shortly after it was announced that Pauly D would be the resident DJ at Rain nightclub at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the “Jersey Shore” star was bestowed with another honor: He was to DJ Britney Spears’ surprise gig in Las Vegas , which was taped for her MTV special “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale,” airing Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. “For me, I love Las Vegas, I love DJing. It’s my heart. I locked down this huge residency, which I always wanted, and now I find out Britney Spears is performing her new album at Rain while I’m DJing. I couldn’t ask for anything more,” Pauly D dished to MTV News last Friday. “I’m at Las Vegas now. What it means to DJ a concert like a Britney Spears concert or something like that, it’s an association with monsters like Britney Spears and it just legitimizes your career. And it’s just fun like being onstage with Britney Spears performing like she’s performing. I love it. I couldn’t ask for more.” Given that Pauly D plays a mix of popular music and more underground house, he admits that he doesn’t have to change his style up too much for a gig with Spears. “I keep up on music. I keep up on current music. I play everything. I’m open format,” he explained. “I play geared to the crowd, so I don’t prep my set. For this I go out there, I kind of wing it. I look at the crowd, I have an idea. I like to play the new stuff that’s hot. I feed off the crowd.” Pauly also explained the rules he has for his craft. “A DJ should not play the artist’s songs at her concert ’cause she has to perform these songs,” he said. “I’m not going to be playing any Britney before she performs; maybe after. I’ll let her perform, let her shine ’cause it’s her night.” The Vegas show is one of many highlights in the “I Am the Femme Fatale” special. Spears gives fans a taste of what it was like making the album, including behind-the-scenes footage of her in the studio with will.i.am and an intimate chat with Sway Calloway in which she opens up about her life and her career. They do? I love them!” Spears opens up to MTV News’ Sway Calloway about her home life, which includes cooking and being a mom to her two sons, Jayden and Sean. “I help cook dinner sometimes. I’m not that much of a cook, but I help,” she shares. “I try a little bit of everything, but I don’t have a special dish.” Spears gets candid during the show’s sit-down interview, in which she talks about her upcoming 30th birthday this December. “I think I hoped I would be [doing this],” she said about still being a performer. “I genuinely love what I do. A face in a sidewalk is still a face, making Lohan outside a club a pretty amazing face….one you know can lead to good fucking times…cuz when a bitch is face first in a sidewalk…I know I can do amazing things to her… I’m not one to speculate, or make up stories about these people I’ve only met once after a two year text message friendship, but I am one to get drunk, make a fool of myself, sometimes risk the life of some or many, so I know that when a bitch is on the ground, on her knees, outside a club with a cigarette in hand, it usually has something to do with being real fucked up….drunk, high, medicated, just excited about life or the fact that the girl you are obsessed with cuz she controls you and helped you throw your life away while riding you to the top by feeding your heroin and making you look bad….. I texted Sam Ronson the other day, I asked who her new girlfriend was and whether I could make her unofficial fansite for her, she ignored me. It hurt…and who really cares….cuz it’s Sam Ronson.
