Christina Aguilera Sparkles In ‘Burlesque’ First Photos

‘The art of the tease, the dance, beautiful women,’ the singer tells USA Today of what drew her to upcoming flick. By Eric Ditzian Christina Aguilera Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images More than a year before Christina Aguilera got back into the pop music game with Bionic, her first studio album since 2006, the signer decided to explore some artistic territory she’d never visited before: the big screen. In May 2009, Xtina signed on to star in “Burlesque,” a musical about a small-town girl who dreams of becoming a star. Now, we’re finally getting our first look at Aguilera in the fall release. “It’s sexy, it’s sensual,” Aguilera told USA Today. “The whole idea of burlesque has always intrigued me. The art of the tease, the dance, beautiful women — need I say more?” All that and more is on display in photos published by USA Today. . One image captures Aguilera in a leg-revealing, gold bodysuit as dancers flip and bow around her. Is this the film’s climatic scene? Is it a dream sequence? Fans will have to wait until the movie hits theaters in November to find out. Other pics show Aguilera with longer blonde locks: in her kitchen and at a nightclub with co-star Cher. “I love no-bullsh– women, and she’s the best of the best, an original trendsetter in her time and a legend in mine,” Aguilera said of Cher, who plays the owner of the burlesque club in the film. “I found her kind and warm. She had helpful advice and stories for days.” But Aguilera didn’t seem to need much advice, according to writer/director Steven Antin, who told the newspaper she didn’t take long to get the hang of a movie set. “She figured out how it works within weeks,” Antin said. “She is a little bit of a freak of nature and a perfectionist. This girl is a movie star.” What appealed to her about the role, Aguilera said, was that her character “wasn’t just a girl who comes to L.A. and makes it big. It was a girl who had suffered and felt pain, been in seven foster homes. She doesn’t let her past make her a victim. And that to me was so appealing.” Playing the character was so appealing, in fact, that the pop singer is already looking forward to taking on more movie roles. “I think people will definitely feel energized and excited,” she said. Joanna Krupa Gets A Little Chilly In Poland

Here’s Joanna Krupa getting a little nipply for the show Poland’s Top Model , you read that right, Poland’s Top Model . I don’t give a crap what country she’s in, the girl is just hot, especially when you put her in a sexy thin dress and turn the air conditioner way up. Those Polish producers sure know what they’re doing. Is there and AC setting for nipply?

Dolly Parton to Critics: Leave Miley Cyrus Alone!

Country music legend is admittedly biased, but she has a message for critics of Miley Cyrus: Give the girl a break! In an interview with Fox News, Parton is asked about the rebukes of Miley’s new image these days and says: “I’ve known her since she was a baby.” She then takes the same stance on digs directed at Cyrus as Miley herself takes on pants : “I hate it when people criticize her,” Dolly says. Parton continues to praise the girl her “honorary goddaughter,” adding: “She is a great singer; she has a great voice. She’s a great little entertainer and she can speak to you like she is 50 years old.” We guess that’s true. At least if 50 year-olds are known for spouting Hallmard card-like cliches about love and life . In closing, Dolly seems to at least acknowledge that Miley’s new CD has been a bust on the charts , but the singing legend takes a grander, positive view of her young pal: “She’ll land in the right place. I really know she has everything it takes. She is just trying to find her way and she will.” Those words sound eerily similar to what some people said about Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan back in the day. Let’s hope Miley’s path ends in a different location from that of those two trainwrecks.

Carrie Prejean and Kyle Boller: About to Get Married!

Carrie Prejean is about to get married. Not to a woman, of course. That would be disgusting and against everything the bible tells us, according to the beauty queen. Instead, the disgraced former Miss California will walk down the aisle on Friday alongside someone she can truly admire: a busted first round NFL draft pick with a career passer rating of 70.6. Multiple sources confirm that Prejean and Kyle Boller have blocked out rooms at the Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego this weekend, as they plan a lavish wedding that definitely won’t include Donald Trump or any THG employee, after we ranked Carrie as the second-biggest Turkey of 2009 . Prejean and Boller got engaged in February. Since then, we’ve heard little from the beauty queen that once told us how much God loves fake boobs and who blamed society for her sex tape . We really miss her.

Eclipse Review: The Best Twilight Film Yet!

While The Twilight Saga may boast an impressive, deep cast, let’s face it: this franchise is all about its three main stars. For that reason, New Moon fell a bit flat, as Robert Pattinson scarcely appeared as Edward and we were left with too much of Bella sitting around and simply pondering her life. Granted, Taylor Lautner took his shirt off a lot, but here’s the great news about Eclipse : Jacob is once again topless most of the time – but he isn’t the only one heating up the screen. Having been treated to a screening of Eclipse , we can confirm: it’s by far the most action-packed of all three Twilight films, and it’s also the best. Here’s why: Bella’s internal conflict has external consequences . Jacob or Edward? Edward or Jacob? This love triangle is at the forefront of the film, but it’s placed against the backdrop of a centuries-old feud between werewolves and vampires. This is far more than typical teenage angst; this is Bella needing to make a decision, the ramifications of which will impact all the lives around her. When Jacob and Edward agree to an alliance in order to protect the girl they love, even men in the audience might stand up and cheer. It’s exciting, selfless stuff. The movie has a sense of humor . Early on, Edward says of Jacob: “Doesn’t he own a shirt?” It’s a cute, light-hearted wink at the audience and the pop culture phenomenon the franchise has become. Jacob vs. Edward . Choosing a Team in this rivalry is a necessity for all fans, and Eclipse sets up more of a dichotomy than ever before. At one point, Bella complains that Edward won’t “unzip before marriage.” Meanwhile, Jacob simply oozes sweat and sex appeal. The former is old school, the latter… well, he’s ready to pounce. These differences make Bella’s dilemma all the more stark, which makes it that much more interesting to watch. The tent scene . Trust us. The flashbacks . Through a series of character flashbacks, we learn how multiple Cullens earned their fangs. Jasper’s tale of being a Confederate Major is especially gripping. Great special effects . The movie climaxes with a showdown between wolves and vampires (and one human, of course) that may not be at the level of Avatar , but it makes tremendous use of CGI. Overall, the action is on par with many summer popcorn flicks. In the end, it’s easy to understand why the Twilight Saga appeals to teenage girls everywhere: two gorgeous guys aren’t just in love with Bella, they are willing to do absolutely anything for her. It’s the stuff we all dream about. But Eclipse adds action, adventure and history to that simple storyline. It combines the best elements of the first two films and we strongly recommend it to all readers.

Tiny turtle causes taxiing plane to return to gate

ATLANTA (AP) — A caged, 2-inch turtle traveling with a 10-year-old girl caused a crew to turn around a taxiing plane, take the girl and her sisters off the flight and tell them they couldn't bring their pet along. The sisters threw the animal and cage in the trash and returned to their seats crying Tuesday after AirTran Airways employees on the jetway said they couldn't care for the turtle while their father drove to retrieve it. Two days later, however, Carley Helm was reunited with Neytiri even though at first the family thought the pet was emptied with the trash. Carley was heading home to Milwaukee after visiting her father in Atlanta with sisters Annie, 13, and Rebecca, 22, when the flap unfolded. Rebecca said the three were led onto the jetway and told they'd have to get rid of the baby red ear slider — named Neytiri after the princess in the movie “Avatar” — if they wanted to reboard. “I asked, 'What do you mean get rid of it?' and they said throw it away,” she said. “I was very sad, and I felt bad for my littlest sister because it was her first pet and she was planning to take care of it herself.” While the sisters say they were told to put the animal in the trash, AirTran says they chose that themselves, despite an offer to fly later at no extra charge. AirTran company policy bars animals other than cats, dogs and household birds in the cabin, said spokesman Christopher White. White cited a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that says the reptiles have been known to carry salmonella bacteria. The sisters say they made it past security screeners and an AirTran gate agent before boarding. One flight attendant told them to stow the cage under their seat, they say. But with the flight rolling toward its takeoff, an attendant told them the turtle wasn't allowed in the cabin. Rebecca Helm called their father, and he began driving back to the airport. She asked an AirTran employee to make arrangements with her father to look after the pet until he could get there, but the employee refused. “I basically had to make a really fast decision because the whole plane was being delayed,” Rebecca Helm said. The bin wasn't very full and she thought the turtle could be found easily once her dad arrived, she said. Rebecca twice declined the offer to take a later flight, White said. “We don't have the personnel or the facilities to care for people's pets,” White said. Rebecca asked if throwing the pet away would allow for them to get back on the flight, White said. The gate agent did not tell the sisters what to do but said they could not get on the plane with the turtle, White said. “At no time did any AirTran Airways crew member order or suggest that they put the turtle in the trash,” he said. Half an hour later, the sisters' father called, saying he wanted to come look through the trash, White said. The gate agent looked, couldn't find the turtle and assumed it had been emptied, he said. The airline, a unit of AirTran Holdings Inc. discovered Wednesday that the ramp supervisor had rescued the turtle from the trash “out of his own compassion” and given it to another crew member, who took it home for her 5-year-old son, White said. AirTran told that crew member the original owners wanted it back, and the airline arranged for the turtle to fly as cargo to Milwaukee on Thursday, White said. The sisters' mother reported what happened to animal rights group PETA, which sent a letter to AirTran demanding an investigation and disciplinary action. For their part, Rebecca Helm says her sisters “are very happy to have the turtle back.” http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Tiny-turtle-causes-taxiing-apf-1122992999.html?x=0 added by: MotherForTruth

‘Dogtooth’: Home School, By Kurt Loder

The kids aren’t all right. No wonder. “Dogtooth” Photo: Boo Productions “Dogtooth” is an art movie from Greece that’s so open-ended, you wonder if whatever it is it’s supposed to mean has dribbled out the back door. For the first 20 minutes or so, anyway. Then a story begins to gather shape, and the picture, already strange, becomes very creepy. Three nameless siblings, two girls and a boy, apparently in their late teens, live in a remotely located house with their father (Christos Stergioglou) and mother (Michele Valley). In the sizable grounds outside, there are palm trees and a swimming pool and a high wooden fence that rings the entire property. The kids, we eventually realize, have never been allowed to venture beyond this barrier. Inside, there’s a television set, but it’s used only to show boring family videotapes shot by their father. There’s one telephone, but it’s hidden at the back of a shelf — the kids have never seen it. Their days pass blandly. They are home-schooled by their mother in a most unusual way. Her vocabulary instruction imparts the information that a carbine is a bird and a zombie is a little yellow flower. Occasionally, the father has his son (Hristos Passalis) and two daughters (Aggeliki Papoulia and Mary Tsoni) get down on all fours and bark like dogs. The father is a boss at a nondescript factory. We see him arriving home in his Mercedes with an employee, a young woman named Christina (Anna Kalaitzidou), who has been blindfolded for the drive. The father takes her into his son’s bedroom and leaves. Christina and the son shed their clothes and have perfunctory sex. (The sex and the full-frontal nudity in the movie have the arousing quality of a calculus lecture.) When they’re done, the father takes Christina back to the factory. The movie offers small islands of incident. When a cat — an alien creature — finds its way onto the property one day, the son responds violently. (PETA people will want to avert their eyes at this point.) The siblings explore each other’s bodies in a bathtub, wordlessly, as if tracing the shapes on statues. When Christina, on another of her regular visits, sneaks into the bedroom of one of the girls, offering a small gift, the girl says, “What do I have to lick?” Is there any escape from this bizarre existence? Theoretically, yes. The children have been told they can leave home as soon as their canine teeth — their dogteeth — fall out. The kids don’t realize that this means never. Not in any natural way. The story is inscrutable. Is it an indictment of home schooling? Of middle-class paranoia? Of what? The distinctively talented director, Giorgos Lanthimos, offers no answers, or even suggestions. He observes the family with placid objectivity. When someone in a facial closeup is doing something with his hands, we don’t see it. When a character stands up out of frame, the camera stays put. (The shots are beautifully composed.) Even at the end, when we’re hoping for a jailbreak moment, the director leaves us hanging in itchy uncertainty. The movie is irritating and disturbing, and when it’s over, we want to put it behind us. It just won’t stay there. Fefe Dobson Goes After Cheating Ex in ‘Ghost’ Video — Check Out A Preview!

The Canadian rocker heats things up with a blazing mattress and lots of leather in her new video. By Mawuse Ziegbe Fefe Dobson Photo: MTV News Fefe Dobson does not play around when it comes to cheating boyfriends. The Canadian rocker goes after a loser ex in her new video “Ghost” after catching him making out with another girl. Although the ex tries to move on with his new relationship, Dobson doesn’t let up. “My video ‘Ghost’ is about me catching my man cheating and then me driving him crazy ’cause I’m haunting him,” Dobson told MTV News. The clip features the star wailing at her former beau from his bedroom ceiling, rocking out on top of his convertible in a leather suit, and taunting him in front of a burning mattress. In the video, Dobson harasses her bad boy with the type of vengeful abandon that many wronged lovers dream of. However, Dobson said that doing the crazy-ex thing wasn’t easy. “There’s a scene where I’m standing in front of a burning bed. It was really burning — it wasn’t a green screen. I was like, ‘I’m not gonna do this!’ and I hear [the director] going, ‘Get in front of the bed!’ ” she recalled. “I didn’t want to do it but I did it. I didn’t, you know, get set on fire — which is important!” Even though he was brought in to make her life harder onscreen, Dobson said that filming with her “Ghost” boy toy was the easiest part of making the video. “He’s cute, so it was easy,” said Dobson. “It wasn’t that hard.” Check out the sneak peek video of Fefe Dobson’s “Ghost” and let us know what you think in the comments below! Hayden Panettiere Takes Her Giant For A Walk

Here’s hot little person Hayden Panettiere taking her pet giant for a walk the other day, I’d hate to see the size of the pooper scooper she’s going to need for this monster. Anyhow, I’m not sure I’m sold on her short little haircut, luckily she’s wearing a nice pair of short shorts so I don’t really have to think too much about it. the girl is just cute, there’s no two ways about it, so now that her show has been tanked hopefully she’ll be able to find some work. There are always after school specials to fall back on. more pictures of Hayden Panettiere here
