Details on the proposal are scarce, but an insider tells Us Weekly that Samberg was smitten with the singer-songwriter before the two even met. “He liked her music and would go to her shows,” the friend told the tabloid . “He had the biggest crush on her.” Samberg left Saturday Night Live last year and will star as a detective opposite Andre Braughter in an upcoming Fox comedy written by Parks and Recreation duo Dan Goor and Mike Schur. Details of this morning’s Rick Ross shooting are still sketchy at this time, and it’s not like the rapper hasn’t been in this situation before. So who tried to kill him? Police in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., are gathering surveillance footage from the scene where Ross crashed his car after being targeted in a drive-by shooting . While driving with his girlfriend Shateria L. Moragne-el, Ross smashed his Rolls-Royce into an apartment building in attempt to flee from bullets fired at him. Security cameras at a building across the street were rolling this morning, and police are hoping they may get a glimpse at the shooter and/or the vehicle. As of now, no suspects have been identified and no arrests made. So who tried to take out Rick Ross? It could be anyone … especially given the hip-hop figure’s propensity for trouble. In the past five years alone: YouTube entertainer DJ Vlad sued Ross for assault and battery; Vlad claimed Ross organized an ambush of him at the 2008 Ozone Awards. Ross started an ongoing feud with rapper 50 Cent because he supposedly “looked at him the wrong way” at the BET Awards. One-time drug kingpin “Freeway” Ricky Ross sued Rick Ross for using his name, filing a copyright infringement lawsuit in Federal Court. A body of a known armed robbery convict and auto thief, identified as Gregory Paul Nesbitt, was found outside of Ross’ house in 2012. Shots were fired during his fight with Young Jeezy at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards, an incident that was partially caught on video. Manti Te’o finally appeared on camera today, for the first time since his girlfriend hoax went public, making one thing VERY clear to Katie Couric: He is not gay. Manti Te’o Interview: I’m Not Gay! Asked by the host about his sexuality – because some have speculated this might explain why Te’o would invent a woman named Lennay Kekua – Te’o was explicit in his response to the question of whether or not he’s a homosexual: “No. Far from it. FAR FROM IT.” Watch this offended response above and then scroll down for more interview highlights… Te’o showed Couric the Tweet sent by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, which took responsibility for the scam and read: “I completely accept the consequences to the pain I’ve caused and it’s important that you know the entire truth before anyone else.” Te’o on the admission by Tuiasosopo that HE was on every phone call: “It didn’t sound like a man… if he somehow made that voice, that’s an incredible talent.” Manti released voicemails left for him by “Lennay.” Why didn’t Te’o report Kekua’s phone call on December 6 immediately, after learning something here was very much amiss? “I was scared and I didn’t know what to do.” What does he think of his NFL draft status? “That I don’t know… Whatever happens happens… I hope and pray that good happens.” So, what do you think? Score another point for Manti Te’o in his battle to prove that he had nothing to do with fooling America into thinking he had a girlfriend. In an interview with People , Alexandra del Pilar – who dated the Notre Dame linebacker for two months in late 2012 – says Te’o often referenced Lennay Kekua and acted every bit like someone who believed she died of leukemia on September 12. “Lennay was often brought up in conversation,” Del Pilar says . “I wanted to know about her, and how they did the long distance. He definitely [loved her].” Del Pilar went on to say she was drawn to Te’o due to his focus on “family.” “That’s what drew us together,” she explained. She also confirmed that Te’o really did receive a phone call in early December from someone claiming to be Kekua, saying she faked her own death. “I was sick to my stomach. I cried,” she says of when Te’o told her what had happened. “Nothing made sense. But since he didn’t understand it either, he told me everything he knew. “I just felt completely sorry for him because he was being accused of things he had no idea about. People were quick to jump on who he is as a person – especially after all the praise they had given him for everything he did at Notre Dame.” In a released snippet of his interview with Katie Couric, Te’o admits to lying about his girlfriend in a pair of discussions with reporters because he had just received the confusing December phone call and had no idea how to react.

I so wanted to be pleasantly shocked by The Canyons , the Paul Schrader -directed erotic L.A. noir starring wannabe comeback queen (and documented on-set terror , per that glorious NYT profile) Lindsay Lohan . The tongue-in-cheek trailer held some distant promise, although it was notably absent any extended look at the acting by LiLo and co-star/porn hunk James Deen , but now we’ve got three full unbroken minutes of The Canyons and, well, that comeback train’s going to be delayed at the station… if not completely derailed off the tracks in a fiery blaze. Where to begin? – ” This can’t be my phone?! ” – Lohan waking in full make-up, as you do – James Deen’s “sleeping” performance – That water bottle catch. Phew! – Christian’s entirely nonsensical plan to hide his girlfriend’s phone, then replace it with a duplicate phone, but keep it by his bedside Ikea table with the ringer on – The cringe-worthy domestic assault documented thusly in even more cringe-worthy fashion in the Times piece: Deen came to life; throwing the negligée-wearing Lohan hard to the ground and pounding his fist into a wall with such fury I wondered if he had broken his hand. Lohan lay slumped on the floor, her hands guarding her face, shoulders shaking, tears pouring down her cheeks. Between takes, she listened to Ryan Adams’s cover of “Wonderwall.” After three shots, Schrader said he was satisfied, and Lohan fumbled for a cigarette. She headed downstairs, and someone complimented her work. “Well, I’ve got a lot of experience with that from my dad.” Yeesh. So much to digest in just under three minutes.
