In one of the stranger, more elaborate death hoaxes to hit the Internet and way beyond, a new report suggests Notre Dame star linebacker Manti Te’o’s girlfriend did not die this year, as had been previously reported. In fact, she never even existed. Some quick background: Te’o was a Heisman Trophy finalist who led Notre Dame to an undefeated regular season. On September 12, news broke that his girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, passed away from leukemia. The story became national news three days later after Te’o starred in an Irish victory and said Kekua encouraged him to play. Kekua’s funeral took place on September 22, with Te’o not in attendance and with the above message displayed across television screens, supposedly proving that this was in accordance with his late girlfriend’s wishes. But now Deadspin has come out with an elaborate article that alleges there is no record anywhere of Kekua’s death: no obituary, no funeral announcement, no mention in the Stanford student newspaper. Moreover, there is no record of her life . University records do not show anyone named Lennay Kekua enrolled at Stanford; there is no record of her birth and, in perhaps the most confusing and troubling report, the photo above is reportedly NOT of Kekua. Deadspin claims it got in touch with a woman from Torrance, California who, upon being shown the image, replied over the phone: “That is a picture of me from my Facebook account.” The article goes on to explain why Te’o likely played a role in this hoax. Deadspin says it has reached out to the athlete for comment, but is yet to get in touch with him. It’s certainly one of the more unusual stories we’ve come across in recent memory, considering the elaborate conspiracy that would be at work here by one of college football’s most respected players… if it is proven to be true, of course. Tig Ol Bitties !!! We’ve heard of sex as a weapon but this is ridiculous! A Washington man is resting in peace after his girlfriend did him in with her massive assets. Via UK Sun reports : Donna Lange is reported to have smothered the fella using her assets during a drunken bust-up at their mobile home in Everett, Washington, US. Witnesses told police they had heard the couple arguing on two occasions that evening, with 192lb Donna throwing her partner to the floor during one incident. They claim Donna, 51, then climbed on to him as he begged her to get off before laying on the victim with “her chest on his face.” At 5ft 7in, the victim stood an inch taller than Donna, but at around 175lbs, he was 17lbs lighter than his alleged killer. One witness told police that the victim may have had a heart condition, but another claimed: ”She smothered him to death.” When police arrived at the couple’s home at the Airport Inn Trailer Park, they found paramedics performing CPR on the 51-year-old man. The victim was later pronounced dead at the Swedish Medical Center, Washington . Police said Donna was with a man and two other women at the scene, and that all were heavily intoxicated. Cops added that Lang had a recent injury to her face and claimed she did not know how the death occurred. An officer later photographed what appeared to hair the same color as Lange’s, clutched in the corpse’s hand. Lange is to be charged with second-degree manslaughter. No, really, Swift herself has teased this possibility, Tweeted to followers yesterday: “Back in the studio. Uh oh…” Styles should be especially afraid of Taylor’s musical wrath, as rumors state the two split when this One Direction member preferred to party on a private island than remain on vacation with his girlfriend. Photos then hit the Internet of Styles in a hot tub with British reality star Hermione Way . “They are 100 percent over,” a source confirms to Us Weekly, while another adds that Harry “said something he shouldn’t have.” But – as was the case with John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner , and Joe Jonas – Swift sounds intent on having the final say.
ESPN is very sorry that Brent Musberger developed a verbal boner for Katherine Webb on the air last night. In comments that have overshadowed Alabama’s demolition of Notre Dame in the BCS title game, the 73-year old announcer went a tad overboard in showering Webb – the girlfriend of Tide quarterback AJ McCarron – with praise based on her physical appearance. Two twin brothers at the same damn time… Woman Admits To Being In A Relationship With Two Twin Brothers At Once In what has to be one of the most randomly ridiculous stories of the year so far, two twin brothers were arrested and booked on New Year’s Eve after they got into a fight over sex with their “shared girlfriend.” via News One Two Manchester, Conn., twins figured it isn’t enough for them to share the same genes; they have to share the same girlfriend, too. But the arrangement got violent on New Year’s Eve, according to The Hartford Courant reports. Aric Ryan Hale and Sean Peter Hale, both 28, were arrested after fighting over who would have sex with their shared 27-year-old girlfriend. The woman is reportedly in an open relationship with the twins and is sexually intimate with both of them “depending on who she chooses to be with that particular day,” police spokesman Capt. Christopher Davis said. Both men were with the woman at a local hotel when Sean asked his brother to leave the room so that he could have sex with their girlfriend. Aric refused and the twins began throwing punches at each other and destroying the room. They were later arrested at an Ellington residence. Hanging with the singer in England for the week, the One Direction star stopped Custom Cupcake Company in Chapelford, Warrington this morning, a store rep tells Us Weekly. “The cakes were a selection of 12 flavors, including ones filled with candy floss and a mint liqueur center,” says the insider of Styles’ gift . “It was kept very secret to make sure there wasn’t a mob waiting to greet him when he pulled up. “He was down to earth and said his girlfriend would love the cupcakes.” Yes, folks, his GIRLFRIEND!
