Upgrade You: 6 Regular Women Who Dated “Up” To Boost Their Careers

Excerpt from:

Nine times out of ten, people find themselves hating on the women that are able to take their breathtaking good looks and killer physiques and create careers around them. Regular chicks from around the way who are able to date outside of their tax brackets and use that as an opportunity for their own fame and abundance should be more empowering than it is deplorable. Here are five women whose hustles can’t be knocked and one honorable mention–who if she plays her cards right–will find herself swimming in Benjamins too. Catya Washington Cat and Drake had a serious thing. The two met on the set of Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” video and ended up living together, even labeling their relationship “love.” They let each other go when Cat decided to go on reality show trainwreck Bad Girls Club . Anyone who chooses that type of show is after a certain type of career and dating Drake definitely made her a bit more notable than the other no-name bad girls. According to her Twitter , Cat’s a radio personality, blogger, model and CEO. She’s even got a single out . Do your thing, Cat. Evelyn Lozada Once the fiance of Boston Celtics all-star Antoine Walker and now the wife-to-be to New England Patriot Chad Ochocinco, it’s clear that all Evelyn does is date up. From her patented “Non-Motherf*ckin’ Factor” T-shirts to her new lipstick line Secret Kisses to her six-figure Cash Money book deal, Evelyn’s taking her career straight to the top. Draya Michele This model and Basketball Wives LA star was previously linked to Chris Brown. Draya screams opportunist; in fact, she was caught abandoning her child on multiple occasions to secure her spot in Hollywood’s inner circles. How exactly did Draya land a spot on the Basketball Wives cast without being a wife and/or related to basketball? Well, Draya’s snagged herself a Dallas Maverick–Deshawn Stevenson–but we’re still waiting to see her make this opportunity work for her, literally. Hopefully, Deshawn can help Draya upgrade more than her finances. She needs a few parenting tips as well. Amber Rose Yeezy taught her well. The come up of all come-ups, Amber’s relationship with Kanye was the envy of many, and a real Cinderella story. Amber comes from a humble beginning and chose stripping as her bread and butter before landing one of the biggest rappers of our time. After the two split, Amber bounced around to a few of Hollywood’s elite, but ended up with freshman class rapper, Wiz Khalifa. Now, Amber’s a judge on Centric’s Master of the Mix and is in the studio working on her music. Kim Kardashian Kim hit the scene as Paris Hilton’s best friend, but then quickly (and surprisingly) gained fame as Ray J’s plaything on their sex tape. But before that, Kim walked down the aisle at age 20 with music producer, Damon Thomas. But they two split after four years. Considering her string of famous exes – Nick Lachey, Nick Cannon, Dallas Cowboy Miles Austin, Reggie Bush and now ex-husband #2, New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries – Kim’s love interests always seems to one-up each other. And her success is exponentially growing with no slowing down in sight. Kim’s got her outrageously successful reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians, her DASH boutique, endorsement deals from Carl’s Jr. Balenciaga shoes and more, her ShoeDazzle website and the list goes on and on. Kim is by far the definition of dating up to boost your career. Honorable Mention: Dollicia Bryant Since explaining the importance of wearing red bottoms , this gorgeous video vixen has been all about elevating herself. Dollicia’s been linked to the likes of Miami Dolphin Reggie Bush, Jamie Foxx and Chris Brown. Her latest conquest? Rob Kardashian. But Dollicia, we’re still waiting to see what you do with your boyfriend upgrade. Heartbreak Drake: Where He Went Wrong In His Lyrics About “Love” 6 Reasons Why Rihanna Stays Winning

Elizabeth Olsen Talks ‘Amazing’ 2011

Actress’ banner year has been ‘learning experience,’ she tells MTV News as part of Thankful Week. By Eric Ditzian Elizabeth Olsen Photo: MTV News By any sort of Hollywood metric, Elizabeth Olsen has had a wonderful year. In January, the actress became the talk of Sundance with the debut of the harrowing drama “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and a claustrophobic horror flick, “Silent House.” In subsequent months she took on roles opposite everyone from Zac Efron to Robert De Niro, and she’ll soon star with Glenn Close in the period drama “Therese Raquin.” And as 2011 inches to a close, her name has cropped up in awards-season talk: She’s already nabbed an ensemble Gotham Awards nomination and could well find herself in the Golden Globe and Oscar mix. Not bad. But when you consider this is the first year that Olsen has been on the entertainment scene — unless you count long-ago appearances with her sisters in those “Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley” musicals — the 22-year-old’s 2011 goes from generally wonderful to simply magical (and no doubt jealousy-inducing for her peers). And that’s why we’ve named Elizabeth Olsen one of the actresses we’re most thankful for this year. We recently sat down with her to look back at her accomplishments, to look forward to what she has coming down the line, and to find out what she’ll do if she ends up winning awards this season. MTV News : You know you might have to start giving some speeches soon … Elizabeth Olsen : I have zero expectation on any of that. I didn’t even have anything beforehand that I could think the movie would become what it has become, with a great distributor, good buzz. This year has been such a learning experience. It’s been amazing. I feel like I have an understanding of so many different aspects after making a movie. Before I didn’t even know how to make a movie, and then I realized I didn’t even know how to promote a movie, and then I realized there’s a whole process of doing that that’s even longer than making the movie. You just have to be thankful that you have the opportunity to get to do that and people want to talk to you about your work. MTV : Is there one surreal moment from this year that encapsulates what a crazy run you’ve been having? Olsen : The first thing that came to my head when you said that was I remember when I finished making [“Martha Marcy”] and I had dinner with my friend in the East Village. I was totally thrown off because I was in upstate New York for three months, and then I was in the East Village on a Saturday night and was so confused that people acted the way they acted. I was like, “Why are people so abrasive? It’s so weird.” I remember telling my friend, talking about making this movie, that I literally had the best experience of my life working on something. And that’s including all the fun stuff you made with your friends in elementary school. MTV : Speaking of promoting a film, do you read your own press at this point? Olsen : At this point I’m interested in those things. Give me a couple months and I probably won’t be. I don’t know why. I think those opinions change all the time. Right now I’m just interested because I’m fascinated by the movie so I’m fascinated about what people think and get from the movie, because it is very unique. MTV : Your co-star John Hawkes has compared your performance in “Martha Marcy” to Jennifer Lawrence’s in “Winter’s Bone.” With “Hunger Games” she’s now made the leap to a high-profile franchise. Is it only a matter of time before we see you in a “Transformers” or a “Spider-Man”? Olsen : I don’t know, but I don’t think so. I’m just trying to pick whatever’s most interesting to me at that point. I’m not trying to think of things studio or non-studio. There are a bunch of things I’d like to do in 2012 that are all very different from each other. What they all have in common are amazing people to work with and an interesting character to try and create. MTV : Above and beyond the acting, do you have ambitions to write or direct? Olsen : No, I don’t. I like doing this. Dialogue I’m very bad at. I do like writing essays. MTV : That is kind of nerdy. Olsen : I know! I like writing essays. I have to write one tonight. So much fun! MTV : Have you adjusted to being on set away from friends and family? Because that experience can be isolating. Olsen : I would like to think that I’m really good at adjusting to changes. But I’m not as good as I thought I was. When I was working in Spain, that was really hard. It was a long shoot and it was Spain and I was coming in the middle of shooting, so everyone had already been there for six weeks and no one was going out to explore the city anymore. I was just by myself. But in situations like that, you do call your family. My sisters came and visited me. It was hard to be there and not even have the option of making a quick phone call and meeting up with someone. But now when I look back on being in Spain, I don’t really think of it as being lonely. But at the moment, you know, I thought I really knew what loneliness was. I was like, “This is so lonely!” MTV : Let’s talk about “Very Good Girls,” in which you’ll be co-starring with Dakota Fanning. When is that shoot going to happen? Olsen : We have to wait, because it’s set in New York in the summertime. We’ll do it next year. Dakota and I know each other, since we have the same mutual friends and went to the same high school. We’ve had dinner with the director, just chatting and trying to figure out what we can do to maybe change the script a bit, change scenes. MTV : What was the key thing that attracted you to the role? Olsen : The thing that’s great about this script is I treat my relationships with my girlfriends as family and as probably the most important relationships in my life. I’ve had the same friends since I was in kindergarten. I feel like a lot of times in film and television, you don’t get a chance to understand that type of relationship. “Sex in the City” is the closest thing you get to it. I think [“Very Good Girls”] is a great depiction of two young girls’ friendship when they’re graduating high school. MTV : It seems like this role is the closest to your experience. Olsen : Totally. It’s important to be in a film like that. And everyone involved is going to be great to work with. The Real Housewives of Atlanta Recap: Baby Shower Brawlin’

Since when does a baby shower include brawling house husbands? It looks like that’s the way they do things in Atlanta, or at least on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. “Shower the Baby” gave Kim a baby shower to rival most wedding receptions and we’ll break down the drama in The Hollywood Gossip’s weekly +/- review. But first we have to sift through the boring stuff … Looks like Sheree’s building herself a new McMansion but she’s being practical. It will only have the necessities: a ballroom, a spa area, a space for the DJ and a theater. Just the basics. Plus 8 because she’s planned ahead. There’s enough room to expand later if 8,000 square feet becomes too cramped. NeNe and estranged husband Gregg have a quick and awkward chat when he comes to pick up their son. NeNe wants to know if he’s dating anyone. He says no but then she won’t answer the same question. Minus 5 . If you’re going to ask the question, expect to have to answer it. Once he’s gone, NeNe admits she doesn’t think she can sign the divorce papers. Minus 7 . Well where does that leave them? They certainly don’t seem happy so will they continue to live in limbo or head back to a miserable marriage? Apollo’s on edge these days and even adorable little Aiden can’t seem to make it better. He got pulled over and roughed up by the cops. Sounds like it was all a case of mistaken identity and he was let go but that hasn’t stopped the gossip from spreading all over town. Unfortunately, his criminal record is something he’s always going to have to deal with. What I can’t handle are Phaedra’s sweatpants: hot pink with HIS printed across the butt. Girl, that’s just tacky. Minus 5 . Cynthia gets a visit from her daughter’s daddy, Peter and Plus 10 for everyone getting along so well but I have to wonder how long it will last. Peter just doesn’t seem the type who goes out of his way to get along with people. Which brings us to Kim’s baby shower. She says she wants to make the shower special for Kroy. Really? How many guys are that interested in baby showers? Of course this was no ordinary shower. Wasn’t Kim the one who said that Phaedra’s shower was over the top. Pot … meet kettle. Minus 8 . With 130 guests this baby shower rivaled most wedding receptions. But I’ve got to throw in a Plus 5 . I loved that cake. Prior to the shower we saw the entire family getting ready. How cute was Kroy doing the girls’ nails. Plus 10 . Just plain adorable. Overall, the baby shower is quite an event. Minus a mildly embarrassing incident where Kim’s father gives Phaedra a hard sell on his business (awkward), everything is gorgeous and classy. Plus 13 . That is until Cynthia and Peter show up. First off, they show up five hours late. Minus 11 . What was the point of coming at all and without a gift, no less? Had to agree with Phaedra on this one. “Were they looking for refreshments? Were they out of snacks at their house?” And it only gets worse from there. Turns out Peter trashed the ladies in a magazine interview. Minus 10 . Honestly, what man talks about his wife’s friends in an interview? One who knows that’s the only way he can grab the spotlight and more than willing to stir up trouble. Phaedra was the first to bring up the gorilla in the room and things went down hill from there. Peter walked in with a chip on his shoulder and Apollo looked like he was more than willing to knock it off. If Peter keeps poking that bear he might find it bites back and I don’t think he can take on Apollo. After some loud words and male posturing, it looks like Apollo walks away first. It may have been a lot of drama for a normal baby shower but the Housewives of Atlanta need to take a look at The Real Housewives of New Jersey if they want some real drama. Here, we had no cursing, table flipping, punches thrown, or children sent screaming from the room. Minus 15 because in comparison you can’t really call this one a brawl. Atlanta needs to step up their game. EPISODE TOTAL: -15 . SEASON TOTAL: +11 .

My name is Michka and 7th of November was the best day of my…

My name is Michka and 7th of November was the best day of my whole ENTIRE life.  In October, I heard about this competition. You had to invite 9 people to celebrate Justin’s new album Under the Mistletoe and have a party . Of course this sounded amazing because they send you free party packs with Justin masks, Justin balloons, posters etc. You had to take photos and upload onto their Facebook page and the person with the most “likes” on the photo gets to meet Justin  in London in November. However this was unreal I was so excited. We uploaded  the picture and I got hacked 3 times and the person deleted the photo! It was awful, but we managed to get my friend to upload it and we believed in ourselves and told each other not to give up. There was like over 800 people  who had entered this so we thought we had no chance but I just kept saying to myself Never Say Never. Everyone was helping us so much, sharing it, telling their friends, and honestly I can’t thank them enough. We had from Sunday to Friday to get the most ‘likes’ on the photo. Finally we went up to 1st place, my heart was pounding, I was so scared. I wanted this so bad and I wanted it for all my friends too. Friday night came, we was losing & we went to 2nd place. T hen it was the end of the competition WE WON!! WE DID IT! I couldn’t stop crying. In 3 days I was meeting my hero JUSTIN BIEBER. Then the next day I got a phone call saying I could only bring 4 friends instead of 9 because I forgot to tag Justin in the photo. The 2nd runners up had to have the other 4 tickets so it was fair. The worst decision I have ever had to make was telling 5 friends they couldn’t meet their hero anymore. We had to pick from a hat. They were upset but told me to have amazing time and not to worry it. On 7th November the best day is about to begin, we got into London which we traveled from Liverpool.  W e got by the stage in the VIP section, front row at the side of the stage. Justin looked hot, his performance was outstanding and he was literally so close. I was amazed seeing him perform never mind meeting him. He switched the Christmas lights  on, it looked beautiful.  The show was over  and it was my time and my friends time to meet him.  We had to go in with 5 people which was me and my 4 friends. We got called to go in, my legs were like jelly, my whole body felt like it was going to  fall to the floor, we went around the corner, there he was standing there smiling beautifully, his eyes looking into mine I walked over and he was looking at everyone of us. He was like, “Hey guys” Oh my god, my stomach dropped to the floor. I was thinking to myself.. am I alive right now? Is this some sort of dream? I bent down and he started laughing. It was adorable. He was like, “Move aside, move aside, you cant stand in front of me”. He had his hand on my back, I said to him looking him in the eye, while he smiled at me, “Oh sorry” He smiled I went to the end and he pulls all of us in, felt like as if we were a family. It was the best feeling in the world and then he said, “Okay everyone smile” and then we all smiled at the camera. I remember looking at the side of him and seeing him smile. The butterflies in my tummy were going mad. After that, I went in front of him, looked in his eyes and he said without me saying anything, “I love you”. I like died inside, my legs were shaking my hands went all hot and my face went all flushed. I smiled and looked at him and said “Thank you, I love you too”. Then he said to everyone, “Thank you guys so much, I love you” I didn’t want it to end. He is honestly beautiful, he has unreal brown eyes looking into yours and his lips are gorgeous, his hair is just in place, his skin is flawless, and most of all his personality and voice is stunning. He has such a warm heart. I can’t thank him enough for spending his time with me, and  you can see the way he talks to you, like he can’t thank you enough for supporting him. You can see he’s a normal 17 year old boy and that he cares so much for your support, he’s such a sweet person, and I suggest you to believe in Never Say Never, because “YOU” will meet him one day. Just keep believing it will happen and it will..  -Michka Munro From Liverpool, England. Twitter: @LustinForJustin The rest is here: My name is Michka and 7th of November was the best day of my…

My name’s Amanda. I met Justin Bieber twice. The 1st time…

My name’s Amanda. I met Justin Bieber twice. The 1st time I met Justin was on September 8th 2011. It was at the Dolce & Gobanna event in NYC for Fashion Week. I waited 7 hours. Around 4:00pm, Justin arrived at Dolce. There were about 20 girls waiting for him. When he came out, all the girls were screaming. So calmly I asked for a picture. Justin said he will be out in a minute (which he never came out. After waiting forever, they were telling us we weren’t allowed inside. But we were told early in the day that we can buy whatever and meet him. Finally this one lady let’s about 10 fans in. We all run and bought lipstick. After I was waiting in a long line to pay so I can meet Justin, this lady that works that (who I had met earlier that day) came up to me and asked how was meeting Justin. I told her I hadn’t met him yet. She confused us with someone else. She said, “You will, just be patient”. I started crying because I was finally meeting Justin after so long. She asked me why I was crying and I told her “I try so many times to meet him but it never happens and now I got this opportunity” . She ended up bringing my 2 friends and I to a private register to pay. Then she brought us upstairs where Justin was. When it was finally my turn, I started crying. Kenny and Justin both asked me how I was doing. I forced “Good” out of my mouth. Justin then said, “Aww don’t cry” and he signed the lipstick I just bought. I didn’t get a picture but yeah. The 2nd time meeting Justin was November 17th 2011. I was so upset that everyone met Justin at z100 so I decided to go look for him. After a half hour, we finally found him. We waited about 3 hrs. My phone and my Nikon camera died. While waiting for Justin, about 50 people came outside. In the back of those 50 people was Justin. He was right in front me. I asked Justin for a picture and he said sure. He put his arm around me and we took the picture. Then my friend handed me her camera to take her picture but I couldn’t take it with my gloves on, so I bit my glove off my hand awkwardly. I started laughing because Justin was like staring at me. Then I took their picture then after I asked for him to sign my CD but I dropped the marker. I then gave it to him and he signed it. After that, he left for the POP event . I’m so happy I finally got my picture. I waited 3 years for him to actually stop for me. I had about 15 failures before this. I’m so grateful. It was the best day of my life. -@amaaandaplease See the original post: My name’s Amanda. I met Justin Bieber twice. The 1st time…

‘X Factor’: Josh Krajcik Rocks Out On A Rocky Night

Astro and Rachel Crow also earn high marks, but Stacy Francis and Lakoda Rayne draw Simon Cowell’s ire. By Adam Graham Josh Krajcik performs on “The X Factor” Photo: FOX “The X Factor” took on rock music Wednesday, with decidedly rocky results. The debate of what really constitutes rock overshadowed the proceedings, with the increasingly catty judges sniping at one another over their song choices and whether they fit the evening’s theme. In the end, only one performer, Josh Krajcik, turned in what could truly be considered a rockin’ performance, plugging in and kicking out the jams with the Foo Fighters’ “Pretender.” Krajcik was the evening’s big winner — inspiring mentor Nicole Scherzinger to head-bang her way through his performance — along with teen rapper Astro, who is quickly becoming a favorite in the competition. Astro’s original song, a dedication to hip-hop rapped to Puff Daddy’s “I’ll Be Missing You,” caused L.A. Reid to gush that he not only has what it takes to win the competition, but also to become a “major international star,” while Simon Cowell told him he has more maturity and intelligence than the older contestants he’s up against. Astro’s consistency, meanwhile, irked Paula Abdul. “Can you just suck for once?” she pleaded. “I don’t think you can!” Here’s how the remainder of the contestants fared: The Boys Chris Rene, sporting one of Jay-Z’s controversial Occupy All Streets T-shirts , did Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry,” which Cowell argued wasn’t nearly rockin’ enough. “Loved the performance. Would have been great if the theme was reggae,” Cowell quipped. Marcus Canty’s take on Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart” earned high marks from everyone but Cowell, who said it felt like he was pretending to be someone he’s not. L.A. Reid shot back with a simple, “You rocked!” The Girls Coming off a strong performance last week, Rachel Crow took on the Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” which more than satisfied the judges. “The question is, can you sell records? Can you sell tickets? And the answer is yes,” Reid beamed. Melanie Amaro’s piano-and-vocals version of R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts” was dismissed as “so not rock” by Reid, and Scherzinger questioned why she wasn’t moved to tears by the song (she explained that, normally, she is a weeping mess by the song’s close). Cowell, however, boasted that the performance reminded him of Adele and Alicia Keys — performers who are not the least bit rock, mind you, but who happen to sell a lot of records. Fourteen-year-old Drew, meanwhile, took on U2’s “With or Without You” — which was similar to her version of Coldplay’s “Fix You” last week — and Reid, Scherzinger and Abdul all stressed they’d like to hear her do something outside her comfort zone. But Cowell dismissed their comments and praised her, saying he’s confident she’ll be in the competition “until the end.” The Over 30’s LeRoy Bell’s straightforward reading of Bob Seger’s “We’ve Got Tonight” was smacked down by the judges. “You’re good, man, but I need more. This is the big time,” Reid scolded him. Stacy Francis dedicated her performance of Meat Loaf’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” to her “Franatics,” but Cowell trashed her performance with his most stinging critique of the season to date. “It was the sort of thing I would expect someone to sing at the Hilton hotel with people turning their backs eating peanuts,” he said. (It’s safe to say he is not a Franatic.) The Group Lakoda Rayne, Paula Abdul’s sole remaining group , got hammered for what Cowell called their “stupid” and “gimmicky” choreography, and he called the group’s performance of the Outfield’s “Your Love” mashed up with Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way” “a complete mess.” When Reid called Cowell’s critique harsh, Cowell barked, “Watch your back” at Reid. Me-ow, you two! One finalist is due to be sent home on Thursday’s (November 17) show, which is also set to feature a live performance by Rihanna. What did you think of rock night on “The X Factor”? Record Label Freaks Out Over Gashtastic, Fan-Made Music Video [VIDEO]

Did you ever do that thing where you draw a face on the side of your hand? That’s approximately the idea behind the video for indie rockers Jacuzzi Boys ‘ single Glazin’ …approximately. Only instead of hands, the faces are drawn on six female fans’ crotches, with their (there is no delicate way to put it) vaginas serving as the mouths for these oddly cute, mildly disturbing and utterly gashtastic puppets. The band maintains that the video was made by six anonymous female fans who call themselves The Jacuzzi Girls, and that althrough they didn’t solicit the video, being big fans of furburger they loved it: “This is so insane & beautiful… We’re speechless! This is hands down the coolest thing a fan has ever done…We’ll now call this the “official” video for Glazin’! It’s a masterpiece! “, they said in an email to the girls. Their record label Hardly Art wasn’t so enthusiastic, taking down the original video and re-posting it in a heavily censored form. But it wasn’t the fact that 90% of the video consists of cooze closeups that made them nervous- they cited “libel and copyright infringement” as the reason for cutting vaginal tributes to Fidel Castro , Homer Simpson, Jabba the Hut, Insane Clown Posse’s Violent J, LeBron James, and Ronald McDonald (yes, really) from the video. Luckily, they left behind plenty of poon for us to ogle (or maybe just stare at in slack-jawed disbelief), so check out the Glazin’ video after the jump!

Paige Duke is Some Sweet Home Alabama Self Shot Porn for Publicity of the DAy

My girl at SMUT! is the best….. She wrote: There’s this reality/dating show on CMT called Sweet Home Alabama. They found 10 city girls and 10 country girls, and shoved them all in a little house together in Alabama so they could fight over some idiot named Tribble Reese. Why you’d want to date somebody named Tribble I’ll never know, but apparently he’s a former quarterback from Clemson or some such nonsense. Yawn! And went onto write One of the girls fighting for him is a former Clemson student named Paige Duke, who went on to be Miss Sprint Cup. Until she was fired for getting naked-ass naked in front of a camera for her then-boyfriend. The boyfriend (who is now an NFL player) leaked the photos, and her career as a glorified bikini model at a car show ended. Right after it happened the pictures pretty much disappeared from the internet, thanks to the tireless (and ultimately pointless) work of her lawyers. And I love bottom feeding girls who pull the whole “they are pics I sent my bf” bullshit….when really they are pics to get more famous cuz you were once on TV and you loved the attention… Every girl has nude pics – and I love to see them…..So here’s Paige Duke’s self shot nudes….
