Briana DeJesus: I Am NOT Dating Javi Marroquin!

If the events of the past week have proven anything, it’s that Teen Mom 2 should be filmed 24/7 like the freakin’ Truman Show . Most reality series are already running out of steam by the time their eighth season wraps up, but thanks in part to the addition of Briana DeJesus, TM2 is just getting warmed up. Sadly, the show isn’t currently filming, so of all the wild recent events, only the stuff that took place at Saturday’s reunion show was caught on camera. Fortunately, the cast has done an admirable job of documenting the drama on social media. If you follow any of them on Twitter or Instagram, then you’ve probably already heard about David Eason drunkenly stabbing balloons  and trying to fight Nathan Griffith. That’s good stuff, but if you ask us, the Kailyn Lowry-Briana DeJesus-Javi Marroquin situation is even more fascinating. Kailyn and Javi are about to embark on a book tour together, despite the fact that they finalized their divorce almost a year ago. Needless to say, the situation was already fraught with emotional peril, but things are even more complex thanks to rumors that Javi is dating Briana . There’s really no way to talk about this situation without sounding like Gretchen Wieners from Mean Girls , so please forgive us in advance: For starters, Briana and Kailyn used to be friends, even though Briana denies it now. Apparently, Kail was pissed about all the rumors that Briana has a thing for Javi because Lowry and DeJesus didn’t even talk at the reunion show. Afterward, Briana threw major shade on social media, tweeting that Jenelle Evans is the only cool Teen Mom , and posting a bunch of new pics of her and Javi. Marroquin apparently took this as a sign that he and Briana are officially dating, and he even went so far as to confirm the relationship rumors in a recent interview: “We are dating,” Javi told People magazine earlier this week. “We’ve been friends for a while and we weren’t in a rush.” But in her latest interview, Briana denies that she and Javi are a couple, and she basically tells Marroquin to slow his roll: “Nothing is going on,” DeJesus bluntly tells E! News. Adding to the speculation that she’s not seeking a relationship with Javi is a recent tweet of Briana’s that reads, “About to change my number and go ghost.”  All of this begs the question–why was Briana acting as though she and Javi were together? Was she just messing with Kailyn? Is she really that petty? For the sake of our future entertainment, we hope the answer to both those questions is “yes.” Watch Teen Mom 2 online to keep up with all this craziness. The show just keeps getting better, y’all. Selma Blair & Rachel McAdams Accuse James Toback of Sexual Harassment

Just a few days ago, 38 women came forward and accused director James Toback of sexual misconduct . 38 is an alarmingly high number. The number of accusers has now grown to the hundreds . Among Toback’s accusers are Rachel McAdams and Selma Blair, who are bravely sharing their harrowing stories. In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal , more and more people in Hollywood are sharing their #MeToo stories and feeling brave enough to speak up, and shatter the culture of silence. One of the men accused of perpetrating a pattern of sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry is an Oscar-nominated director. According to the initial allegations, James Toback uses similar tactics on different women. He allegedly approaches young women if they aren’t sent to him and promises to boost their careers, citing what he did for Robert Downey Jr. Once alone in a place like a hotel room, he reportedly becomes inappropriate, all under the guise of it just being part of the entertainment business. He would reportedly try things like humping women’s legs, masturbating in front of them, and ask them unacceptable questions. (In particular, based upon the accusations, he seems obsessed with talking about masturbation and fixated on women’s pubic hair) The issue, of course, is that none of this was consensual. These aren’t accusations of weird dates , these are accusations that he used the false pretense of work-related meetings to lure women to him, where he would then ambush them and coerce them — successfully or not — into playing their role in his twisted fantasies. All of that is enough to turn your stomach, but there’s more. As we said, hundreds of women have now reached out to say that they had experiences like those described with James Tomack. And two big-name actresses, Rachel McAdams and Selma Blair, are sharing their stories with Vanity Fair . Selma Blair says that she met with him to discuss Harvard Man , at a time when Selma Blair had filmed her famous role in Cruel Intentions but the film had not yet been released. After Toback apparently refused to leave his hotel room to meet her in the restaurant, Selma went up to meet him. She describes how uncomfortable she became. “He said, ‘Where are your parents?’ I was thinking, ‘Why is he trying to make me feel so uncomfortable?’ But I realize now he was really trying to figure out what support system I had. I answered him. My mother was in Michigan, and I had an estranged relationship with my father.” Meaning no family support network in town to speak of. “James said, ‘You know, I could have him killed.’ He sat back in his chair and said really confidently, ‘I do it all the time. I know people.'” That’s scary … and it will come up again. “It was about 40 minutes in and he said, ‘Will you trust me? I cannot continue to work with you unless you trust me.’ He said, ‘I need you to take your clothes off. I need you to do this monologue naked.'” As ridiculous as that sounds, Selma was thoroughly intimidated at this point and ended up caving to his request. She says that then, of course, he started rubbing himself through his clothes … and asking if she would have sex with him. She declined, but he didn’t seem impressed by her refusal. “I felt trapped. I did not know how to get out and save face and not make a scene. Was I imagining it? He dropped some names [of actresses] that he did some really dark sexual things with.” And there was an implied threat in that. “These felt like lies and dark gossip and that he would add my name to the list. I went to leave and he got up and blocked the door. He said, ‘You have to do this for me. You cannot leave until I have release.'” “He said, ‘It’s O.K. I can come in my pants. I have to rub up against your leg. You have to pinch my nipples. And you have to look into my eyes.’ I thought, ‘Well, if I can get out of here without being raped …'” No one should ever be put into this position. “He walked me back to the bed. He sat me down. He got on his knees. And he continued to press so hard against my leg. He was greasy and I had to look into those big brown eyes.” Gross. “I tried to look away, but he would hold my face. So I was forced to look into his eyes. And I felt disgust and shame, and like nobody would ever think of me as being clean again after being this close to the devil. His energy was so sinister.” After that, Selma says, he reminded her that he could supposedly have people killed, and admonished her to keep quiet. That didn’t stop Selma from telling her manager that Toback was “vile,” and warning her to note send any women to him again. But she didn’t tell the whole story, she says, to anyone except for two people. Until now. Rachel McAdams also shared her horror story in Vanity Fair . She was a 21-year-old theater student at the time, and she was also auditioning for Harvard Man . At the time, Rachel McAdams had her first TV job to film early the next day, but she eventually agreed to meet him that night. It could, after all, end up being her big break. (Remember, this is before Mean Girls  or The Notebook ) “Pretty quickly the conversation turned quite sexual and he said, ‘You know, I just have to tell you. I have masturbated countless times today thinking about you since we met at your audition.'” That … is not appropriate in a workplace environment. And yes, an audition or anything audition-related is very much a workplace environment. Also … gross, dude. Rachel says that he then had her read to him a number of seemingly unrelated passages — like reviews about his work. (There’s no telling if he wanted to make sure that she was impressed, or if he … ugh, gets off on that) “Then he went to the bathroom and left me with some literature to read about him. When he came back he said, ‘I just jerked off in the bathroom thinking about you. Will you show me your pubic hair?’ I said no.” It sounds like, for whatever reason, Toback was less aggressive with her than he is accused of having been with Selma Blair. “Eventually, I just excused myself. I can’t remember how long I was there. I felt like I was there forever. This has been such a source of shame for me — that I didn’t have the wherewithal to get up and leave.” Countless other women didn’t. Few would, in that situation. Society trains us to be polite, innate survival instincts tell us to play along, and the man’s very real power to boost careers added even more complications. “I kept thinking, ‘This is going to become normal any minute now. This is going to all make sense. This is all above board somehow.’ Eventually I just realized that it wasn’t.” And Rachel acknowledges how fortunate she was. “I was very lucky that I left and he didn’t actually physically assault me in any way.” Even so, no one should have to endure that. With hundreds of accusers having come forward, there’s no telling how many are keeping silent. After all, reading a story or a woman who got away or said “no” enough times might actually be discouraging to a woman who did not, rather than liberating. But it’s so important that women — and men — who have faced this kind of unacceptable sexual harassment and sexual assault continue to come forward so that predators can be dragged out into the light of day. There can be healthy relationships between people who work in the entertainment, whether they’re casual or romantic. They might even be for personal gain. They must always be truly consensual, however. Making someone feel cornered or trapped or afraid is a monstrous tactic. If someone fears for their safety or their career if they say “no,” then it’s not consent. And, basically, no one should ever do any of the thing that James Toback is accused of having done. Please. Fats Domino, Rock ‘N’ Roll Pioneer Has Died At Age 89

Continue reading here:

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Fats Domino , the amiable rock ‘n’ roll pioneer whose steady, pounding piano and easy baritone helped change popular music while honoring the traditions of the Crescent City, died Tuesday. He was 89. Mark Bone, chief investigator with the Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, coroner’s office, said Domino died of natural causes at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. In appearance, he was no Elvis Presley. He stood 5-feet-5 and weighed more than 200 pounds, with a wide, boyish smile and a haircut as flat as an album cover. But Domino sold more than 110 million records, with hits including “Blueberry Hill,” ”Ain’t It a Shame” and other standards of rock ‘n’ roll. He was one of the first 10 honorees named to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Rolling Stone Record Guide likened him to Benjamin Franklin, the beloved old man of a revolutionary movement. His dynamic performance style and warm vocals drew crowds for five decades. One of his show-stopping stunts was playing the piano while standing, throwing his body against it with the beat of the music and bumping the grand piano across the stage. Domino’s 1956 version of “Blueberry Hill” was selected for the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry of historic sound recordings worthy of preservation. The preservation board noted that Domino insisted on performing the song despite his producer’s doubts, adding that Domino’s “New Orleans roots are evident in the Creole inflected cadences that add richness and depth to the performance.” Domino became a global star but stayed true to his hometown, where his fate was initially unknown after Hurricane Katrina struck in August 2005. It turned out that he and his family were rescued by boat from his home, where he lost three pianos and dozens of gold and platinum records, along with other memorabilia. Many wondered if he would ever return to the stage. Scheduled to perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 2006, he simply tipped his hat to thousands of cheering fans. But in May 2007, he was back, performing at Tipitina’s music club in New Orleans. Fans cheered — and some cried — as Domino played “I’m Walkin’,” ”Ain’t It a Shame,” ”Shake, Rattle and Roll,” ”Blueberry Hill” and a host of other hits. That performance was a highlight during several rough years. After losing their home and almost all their belongings to the floods, his wife of more than 50 years, Rosemary, died in April 2008. Domino moved to the New Orleans suburb of Harvey after the storm but would often visit his publishing house, an extension of his old home in the Lower 9th Ward, inspiring many with his determination to stay in the city he loved. “Fats embodies everything good about New Orleans,” his friend David Lind said in a 2008 interview. “He’s warm, fun-loving, spiritual, creative and humble. You don’t get more New Orleans than that.” The son of a violin player, Antoine Domino Jr. was born on Feb. 26, 1928, to a family that grew to include nine children. As a youth, he taught himself popular piano styles — ragtime, blues, and boogie-woogie — after his cousin left an old upright in the house. Fats Waller and Albert Ammons were early influences. He quit school at age 14 and worked days in a factory while playing and singing in local juke joints at night. In 1949, Domino was playing at the Hideaway Club for $3 a week when he was signed by the Imperial record company. He recorded his first song, “The Fat Man,” in the back of a tiny French Quarter recording studio. “They call me the Fat Man because I weigh 200 pounds,” he sang. “All the girls, they love me, ’cause I know my way around.” In 1955, he broke into the white pop charts with “Ain’t it a Shame” — but actually sang the lyrics as “ain’t that a shame.” The song was covered blandly by Pat Boone as “Ain’t That a Shame” and rocked out years later by Cheap Trick. Domino enjoyed a parade of successes through the early 1960s, including “Be My Guest” and “I’m Ready.” Another hit, “I’m Walkin,’” became the debut single for Ricky Nelson. Domino appeared in the rock ‘n’ roll film “The Girl Can’t Help It” and was among the first black performers to be featured in popular music shows, starring with Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers . He also helped bridge rock ‘n’ roll and other styles — even country/western, recording Hank Williams’ “Jambalaya” and Bobby Charles’ “Walkin’ to New Orleans.” Like many of his peers, Domino’s popularity tapered off in the 1960s as British and psychedelic rock held sway. Domino told Ebony magazine that he stopped recording because companies wanted him to update his style. “I refused to change,” he said. “I had to stick to my own style that I’ve always used or it just wouldn’t be me.” Antoine and Rosemary Domino raised eight children in the same ramshackle neighborhood where he grew up, but they did it in style — in a white mansion, trimmed in pink, yellow and lavender. The front double doors opened into an atrium with chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and ivory dominos set in a white marble floor. In 1988, all of New Orleans seemed to be talking about him after he reportedly paid in cash for two Cadillacs and a $130,000 Rolls-Royce. When the salesman asked if he wanted to call his bank about financing, Domino smiled and said, “I am the bank.” In 1998, he became the first purely rock ‘n’ roll musician to be awarded the National Medal for the Arts. But he cited his age and didn’t make the trip to the White House to get the medal from President Clinton. That was typical. Aside from rare appearances in New Orleans, he dodged the spotlight in his later years, refusing to appear in public or even to give interviews. Like BlackAmericaWeb.com on  Facebook . Teen Mom Dads: Outrageous (And Hilarious) Demands Revealed!

Let’s be real, the magic of the Teen Mom franchise has always come from the ladies. That’s why it’s called Teen Mom, you know? People are interested in Jenelle Evans’ latest meltdown, or Chelsea Houska’s latest act of adorableness . That’s what people want to see. And sure, the dads are fun and all — Javi Marroquin obviously lives for his reality show fame , and everybody has fun fawning over Cole DeBoer. But they’re just nowhere near being on the same level as all those girls who, once upon a time, were 16 and Pregnant. We know this, MTV knows this, and on some level, the dads themselves have to know this. But hey, sometimes you just have to take a shot … and according to this delightful new report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, the dads really went for it for this weekend’s reunion show! According to the website, the whole Teen Mom 2 crew, as well as some Teen Mom OG cast members, are flying out to Los Angeles to film the reunion and some various specials. MTV is footing the bill for all the flights, which makes sense, since it is a business trip. But MTV got the guys tickets in coach, and for many of them, that simply did not fly. Several sources told the site that many of the guys demanded first class tickets, and one even insisted that the network buy a first class ticket for his girlfriend, too. Spoiler: it did not happen. “The show pays for the guys to come to the reunion,” one insider explains, “and will pay for their significant other or guest to come as well.” “But the network said no way would they pay for first class for the guys, who are just supporting characters on the show.” Jenelle, Chelsea, Kailyn, and Leah, as well as their children and one guest each, were given first class tickets — it’s not clear if Briana DeJesus earned that luxury yet. The source says that even that is “a relatively new thing MTV is doing for the girls,” and that “they never flew them first class before, always coach or business.” That makes sense though, because with the level of fame the Teen Mom girls are reaching, they’ve been having more and more of a hassle while flying coach. And since most of the moms would be the ones flying with the kids on the show, that means they’ve been getting hassled, too. However, the source says that “the guys get a coach ticket though, and that probably won’t change.” “They are reminded that they are free to come out-of-pocket and upgrade their coach ticket if they’d like.” Hilariously, “The guys who were demanding first class tickets at first said they wouldn’t attend the reunion if they didn’t get upgraded tickets,” and MTV refused to give in. “They were told not to come if that’s the case.” How amazing, right? And let’s be real, it’s not like any of the dads would really be missed. The Ashley wouldn’t reveal which dads were behind this little diva fit, but they did make it clear that Adam Lind wasn’t one of them, which seems like a given, considering he quit the show and hasn’t filmed this season . That leaves David Eason, Nathan Griffith, Corey Simms, Jeremy Calvert, Jo Rivera, Javi Marroquin, Cole DeBoer, Devoin Austin, and Luis Miguel. The moms’ current partners would likely be their first class guests anyway, so David and Cole are out. It’s pretty easy to see Nathan and Jeremy heading up this douche committee, right? We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: this reunion show is going to be beautiful. View Slideshow: Teen Mom Dads, Husbands & Boyfriends Ranked: Who’s #1?!

Dance Moms Season 7 Episode 25 Recap: Welcome, Cheryl Burke!

Abby Lee Miller was a distant memory on Dance Moms Season 7 Episode 25 , and that’s because of Dancing with the Stars pro, Cheryl Burke showed up to take her place.  When the episode got underway, the mothers found out via social media that Abby Lee Miller had announced her intention to quit the show and it did not go down well with everyone.  This was especially concerning because nationals were just two weeks away and nobody knew what was going to become of the teams. Jill noted that she was shocked, but she probably knew.  The coach was facing a stint behind bars because of her tax fraud, so they should have gotten a backup plan in motion before her exit.  Ashlee continued to play bitter and trashed the dance routine from The Irreplaceables’ performance, and Holly was quick to point out that it was a good one.  Cheryl Burke appeared and brought along Ryan Ramirez to help sort things out with the girls. The moms knew a lot was riding on them making it through this next competition.  Cheryl quickly noted that the girls were lacking confidence and chalked it up to what was going on with Abby on social media. Their phones were blowing up because fans were reacting to the news.  Cheryl wanted the mothers to get on board with the team and stop talking about Abby. The mothers got mad when they heard the other girls were going to the same competition.  During rehearsals, the other girls were just not feeling it, and it seemed like they just wanted to roll over and give up. Cheryl decided it may be time to demote Kendall because she was not getting the routine.  The mothers then tried to blame themselves for the way their daughters were acting. Yes, it was terrible and proved just how toxic the environment is on this show.  Things with the other girls were not good, either. Abby had shunned them and told them they could not use the studio. They managed to reel in Miranda to choreograph for the girls. Stacy then said they should pay tribute to Abby with the performance.  That would be a good idea if Abby did not ditch them like a hot potato. They called the group routine “We Surrender.” Yes, they want Abby back.  Ashlee was struggling to come to terms with the fact that Christi and her followers were bashing her on social media. Jamie put it all down to the other moms being scared they win the competition.  At the competition, Chloe and Nia came in third place for their duet, but Camryn and Kendall secured a first-place finish. Abby’s girls managed a second place finish in the group routine, but The Irreplaceables crated in fifth place.  Abby then texted Miranda and fired her, but Ashlee and Brynn decided the show was not for them any longer and they departed. What does this mean for the other girls? Time will tell.  What did you think of the action? Sound off below! View Slideshow: Lifetime Reality Shows: The Ultimate Rankings!
