Actor Michael Clarke Duncan was hospitalized today following a cardiac arrest, as sources confirm The Green Mile star is in stable condition. Duncan suffered a myocardial infarction early this morning, and his girlfriend Omarosa Manigault performed CPR on him around 2 a.m. The two-time Apprentice contestant was apparently able to successfully resuscitate the baritone actor upon finding him. Duncan has been nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, and most recently starred in the now-cancelled Fox show, The Finder . The show was a spin-off of the hit Fox show, Bones . We here at THG wish Duncan a full, speedy recovery. This marks the first time we’ve ever been happy Omarosa was around.

For many, the Weinsteins’ inescapable awards-season carpet bombing was mere insult added to an even more grievous seasonal injury: moving Piranha 3DD from its original November 2011 release date to the notorious TBD associated with so many Dimension and Weinstein Co. releases. What did you expect, though? Madonna/ W.E. Golden Globe campaigns don’t pay for themselves, right? Anyway, as befits a new inductee into France’s Legion of Honor , Harvey Weinstein is not skimping on the public service, finally rescheduling the blood-and-boobs fishploitation extravaganza for June 1. The good news? That’s only two and a half months away! The bad news? That’s only two and a half months away! Is there enough time and money left after handling the Bully ratings “crisis” to manufacture a PG-13 crusade for this one? How will kids at lakeside summer camps nationwide know how to best deal with flesh-rending fish infestations? Think of the children, save the date, etc. [ STYD ]
“I wanted to run Michael Parks from Red State for an Oscar this year, and I was told I’d need $250,000 minimum to do that. We thought we were eligible for SAG Awards, but it turns out that you have to actually submit to the SAG Awards, even if you’re a SAG member, which doesn’t make sense to me. And then the Golden Globe people didn’t want to give Michael Parks consideration because we didn’t screen the movie for them specifically when the movie was out in theaters, but it never was out in theaters so it was kind of ridiculous. You have to jump through these ridiculous little rings to even be considered, and then it’s a popularity contest around who has the most money to run.” [ Moviefone ]
Singer told MTV News she and her Ray of Light producer ‘finish each other’s sentences.’ By Jocelyn Vena Madonna Photo: Theo Wargo/Getty Images Madonna is readying the release of her album M.D.N.A., and for it she headed back into the studio with a familiar face. She hooked up once again with producer William Orbit, who worked on a number of tracks on the album, including her Golden Globe Award-winning “Masterpiece.” The relationship between Madonna and Orbit has been a fruitful one. He produced most of the songs on 1998’s Ray of Light, including “Ray of Light,” “Nothing Really Matters,” “Frozen” and “The Power of Good-bye.” The album later won several Grammy Awards and VMAs. Their work together didn’t end there. One year later, they produced Madge’s “Austin Powers” soundtrack song, “Beautiful Stranger,” which nabbed a Grammy Award in 2000. In the years since, she worked with Orbit on several unreleased tracks. So, when it came to their latest collaboration, words weren’t needed. “With William, I didn’t really have a discussion,” she told MTV News at the New York premiere of “W.E.” “We’ve worked on stuff for so many years that we kind of finish each other’s sentences. He knows my taste and what I like.” With “Masterpiece” serving as a tease, the singer later added, “Magic happens when we get into a recording studio together.” As fans prep for the release of her studio album, they can look forward to her halftime Super Bowl performance and her video for the Martin Solveig-produced “Gimme All Your Luvin” (which also features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.).
