What are your 2010 Golden Globe predictons?

Only a day after the Golden Globe nominations were released, the press is already overwhelmed with nominee reactions (Sofia Vergara was apparently in the shower when she heard) and commentary on the mixture of veteran nominees and newcomers (Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, and Mila Kunis all grabbed noms for young Hollywood). Surely it's now time to start making predictions for the winners. Does a young actress like Emma Stone have a chance at winning Best Performance? Will David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin's The Social Network sweep every category featuring someone connected to the movie? If Johnny Depp's nominated twice for Best Performance, do other actors even stand a chance? What are your predictions for the 2010 Golden Globes? added by: cberlin1

Team Jacki Update: Weaver ‘Elated’ Over Globe Nomination

This just in from the Team Jacki Weaver award-season campaign HQ: “The words ‘thrilled’ and ‘delighted’ just don’t seem to cut it to describe how elated I feel about receiving the Golden Globe nomination . I feel like I’ve been launched into space and landed on another planet! This whole adventure with Animal Kingdom has been such an unexpected pleasure. Just working with David Michôd, an extraordinary filmmaker, born storyteller, a true auteur and a visionary, would have been enough reward for me. But now to have such wide recognition so far from home is incredibly satisfying. I’m a grateful woman!” Let’s gooooo!

Emma Stone Calls Golden Globe Nomination ‘Borderline Ridiculous’

‘Angelina Jolie? She wishes!’ ‘Easy A’ star jokes to MTV News about Best Actress competition. By Eric Ditzian Emma Stone in “Easy A” Photo: Sony Pictures We’re pretty sure Emma Stone owes us a big thank you. Just after MTV News named her the actress we’re most thankful for in 2010 , the Golden Globes went ahead and honored the 22-year-old with a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for her role in “Easy A.” Hardly a coincidence, no? And, as it turns out, Stone is pretty sure she owes us some gratitude too. “This goes to you,” she laughed when she called MTV News after the Globe announcement. “Thank you very much. You’re who I’m most thankful for in 2010!” Second place perhaps goes to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for recognizing her work in “Easy A.” Stone confessed that the nomination came “completely out of nowhere” for her and the last thing she was expecting was a pre-dawn phone call with such happy news. (Click here for photos of this year’s biggest nominees!) “I was completely asleep because it was 5:30 in the morning, and my manger called me sounding very upset, which is what you think when someone calls you at 5:30 in the morning,” she said. “Then I realized it was excitement and he wasn’t upset. I realized that nothing was burning down and no one was hurt and everything was wonderful.” Stone doesn’t have much time to celebrate, though. She’s expected to report to work as usual on the set of “Spider-Man,” Sony’s reboot of the venerable comic book franchise. There she’ll find fellow Globe nominee (and current wearer of Peter Parker’s Spidey tights) Andrew Garfield, who garnered a nod for “The Social Network.” “I could bring him a salted-caramel cupcake,” she said. “But I don’t know if he’s eating a lot of those right now because of all the Spider-Man-ness. I could bring him maybe a bran muffin.” While Stone believes she doesn’t have a shot at winning the best actress award — and had a ball jokingly dissing her competition with lines like, “Angelina Jolie? She wishes!” — she said even to be included in such illustrious competition has catapulted her breakout year from “borderline ridiculous into truly bizarre and amazing.” “I don’t know what’s going on,” she laughed. “I think a comet’s going to hit my house in 10 seconds.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Easy A.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Diddy Talks Fear Of Commitment On ‘The View’

‘As my heart got broken by one, I cried on the shoulder of another,’ Diddy-Dirty Money frontman reveals on talk-fest. By Jayson Rodriguez Diddy (file) Photo: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images/DCP On “Coming Home,” the latest single from Diddy-Dirty Money’s Last Train To Paris, the rap mogul contemplates having a touchy conversation with his kids down the road. “What if my twins ask why I ain’t marry their mom?” he raps on the number. “Damn, how do I respond?” During an appearance on “The View” on Tuesday (December 14), host Barbara Walters pressed Diddy about the line. “What’s your trouble, is what I’m trying to get at,” she asked. Diddy answered, explaining that his fractured upbringing, among other things, has been a factor in his ongoing bachelorhood. “The reason of it, why I’m not married yet, I don’t have the exact reason,” he said. “Some things in life, you don’t have the exact reason why you’re not. I know that I haven’t been ready; I know there’s other reasons in my life. “My father was killed when I was 3 years old, and my mother was a very strong woman and she said, ‘Well I loved your father and I’m not gonna have another man around. There’s not gonna be anyone else around, and that’s how it’s gonna be.’ But then on the flip side, I never got a chance to see the way a family lives.” Diddy, however, insisted he wasn’t making excuses, just giving up some details about his background. He then opened up about the three mothers of his six children: “It’s like a movie,” he said. The Bad Boy Records CEO said he met the women all in the same year, roughly. “At different times in my life, as my heart got broken by one, I cried on the shoulder of another,” he revealed. That explanation led co-host Joy Behar to quip, “like ‘Big Love,’ ” referring to HBO’s polygamy drama, which drew laughs from the audience. “It wasn’t at the same time,” Diddy responded. “Life isn’t something you can predict. Every woman that I was with, that I had a child with, they did deserve for me to marry them. But there’s things going on in my life … I’m not gonna say it’s all the way me, but I’ll take responsibility as a man.” After making those revelations, Diddy was ready to hit the stage. He was joined by his Diddy-Dirty Money ladies, Dawn Richard and Kaleena, for a performance of “Coming Home.” What do you think of Diddy’s remarks about marriage? Tell us in the comments! Golden Globes Snub ‘Lost,’ Embrace ‘Walking Dead’

The always-unpredictable Hollywood Foreign Press Association delivered some surprises in the TV categories. By Aly Semigran The cast of “Lost” Photo: ABC While the Emmys often serve up nods to the same old favorites, year after year, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Globes are beloved for their unpredictability. In the TV category, the domination of shows like “Glee” and “Mad Men” wasn’t too surprising, but there were plenty of out-of-left-field choices and sad-face snubs to keep awards-show junkies amused on Tuesday morning (December 14). (Here’s a complete list of the 2011 Golden Globe nominations .) In the drama acting categories, a Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama nomination for Katey Sagal for her work on FX drama “Sons of Anarchy” ( The Atlantic raved that Sagal gave a “riveting performance as matriarch of a corrupt biker family”) may have been overshadowed by the “Huh?” factor of “Covert Affairs” star Piper Perabo also being placed on the list. Fans of AMC’s bloody good newcomer “The Walking Dead,” should be thrilled to see the show nominated with established heavyweights such as “Mad Men” and “Dexter” for Best Television Series – Drama. Another new show, HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire,” snagged a nod in the category. But devotees of the shows left off the drama list are bound to be vocal about the oversights. HBO’s “True Blood” and “Big Love” were left out. And after a love-it-or-hate-it series finale, bragging rights for biggest snub goes to “Lost,” which was shut out of the running completely. The groundbreaking show kept fans’ interest until the very end (especially with strong turns by cast members Michael Emerson, Terry O’Quinn and Matthew Fox), but apparently not the HFPA. The often-snubbed “Friday Night Lights” received zero nominations during a year that included stand-out performances by its cast (particularly Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton and Zach Gilford). “Come on, Golden Globes, no ‘Friday Night Lights,’ either?” ( Entertainment Weekly ‘s Ken Tucker complained. Elsewhere, Christina Hendrick’s continually impressive work on “Mad Men” (including tackling story lines of infidelity and pregnancy) somehow was overlooked. ( USA Today noticed some more obvious snubs including, “Breaking Bad” ‘s Aaron Paul, the 2010 Emmy winner for supporting actor in a drama, and “The Good Wife” ‘s Archie Panjabi, who took the Emmy last fall for best supporting actress in a drama. There were hardly any stunners in the comedic acting categories, except for, perhaps, the inclusion of “Hung” star Thomas Jane in

James Franco ‘Grateful’ For Golden Globe Nom

‘I think [director] Danny Boyle [made one of the] most dynamic movies out there,’ Franco said of ‘127 Hours’ in a ‘Today’ show phone interview. By Jocelyn Vena James Franco in “127 Hours” Photo: Cloud Eight James Franco called in to NBC’s “Today” show on Tuesday (December 14) to share his reaction at scoring a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama category for his role in the Danny Boyle-directed “127 Hours.” The actor, who also will co-host the Academy Awards in February and is expected to get a similar Oscar nod next month, expressed his excitement over the Golden Globe accolade just as he learned about it. “Oh, thank you. I just heard, yes,” he told Matt Lauer over the phone from Rhode Island. “My friend Barry from Fox/Searchlight [told me]. He’s a text message friend. We send each other photos of fat animals.” Franco explained that he’s particularly excited about the film’s nominations, which include Best Screenplay and Best Original Score nods, given the story behind the flick. “You would think that movie would be the most static kind of narrative around, but actually I think Danny Boyle [made one of the] most dynamic movies out there,” he said about the film, which tells the real-life story of a hiker who gets trapped in an isolated canyon. The actor also released a statement to MTV News about the his nomination, saying, “I’m especially grateful to the [Hollywood Foreign Press Association] for this honor and I’m excited to see ‘127 Hours’ being recognized this awards season. I’m happy for Danny Boyle and his team and our [directors of photography Enrique Chediak] and Anthony [Dod Mantle], who were there with me down in the canyon! I am so proud of the film and that Aron Ralston’s story has been well received!” Boyle also shared his excitement over the movie’s noms in a statement that read, “We’re absolutely delighted to be included in the nominations for the Golden Globes especially as HFPA were so generous to us on ‘Slumdog [Millionaire]’ 2 years ago. I’m particularly pleased for James as it’s such a brave and exhilarating performance, and for Aron Ralston who took such a leap of faith in letting us tell his story in such an uncompromising way.” When speaking with MTV News in November, Franco said that he felt “127 Hours” rang true because his experience filming the part echoed the ordeal that Ralston went through. “For me, that really showed how parts of the way we approached this performance are authentic on a real level,” he explained. “[We’re] blurring the line between acting and experiencing, giving yourself physical tasks and trying to really complete them in a way.” The Golden Globe Awards will air on Sunday, January 16, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
