What Drives Ryan Gosling?

What does Ryan Gosling like to do late at night? Drive around the City of Angels, obviously. Apologies to any of you ladies out there hoping we were going in a different direction with that one. Our friends at Reel Movie News attended the premiere of Gosling’s Drive (in theaters Sept. 16) at the Los Angeles Film Festival Friday night. RMN spoke with Ryan and co-star Christina Hendricks on the red carpet about their project, in which a Hollywood stunt driver gets into trouble after becoming part of a heist gone terribly wrong. Rachel McAdams Elle magazine cover 2011

Rachel McAdams, 32, who was formerly in a long-term relationship with Ryan Gosling, hopes to end up with a fairy-tale romance like her parents. “[They are] still together and still in love,” she says. “I#39;m very blessed that way. I had a great example of love in front of me, and that#39;s probably what makes me such a romantic, because I#39;ve seen it firsthand.” It#39;s hard to imagine Rachel McAdams has ever worried about falling in love. But the actress – currently dating actor Michael Sh

The Muff-Diving Scene That Got Blue Valentine an NC-17

You can eat a lot of things in the movies. You can even eat human flesh, like in Zombie Strippers or Cannibal Ferox. Well, actually you can eat human flesh only under certain circumstances. Apparently you can’t eat in the way that Ryan Gosling ate Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine. At least not without getting an NC-17 rating. Luckily, the people at Fleshbot have found the scene and posted it here so you can see for yourself what all the puss is about. And it’s not the first time Mr. Skin Hall-of-Famer Michelle Williams has pushed the bounds of skindecency. From her topless lesbo scene with Chloe Sevigny in If These Walls Could Talk 2 to her bare boobage in Brokeback Mountain to her racktastic doggy-style banging in Incendiary , Michelle has been fashioning herself into a skinematic icon for the past ten years. It doesn’t seem fair that Ryan Gosling is the one that gets to taste her success.

Ryan Gosling Still ‘Processing’ Meeting Bruce Willis

At Golden Globes afterparty, MTV News pressed the ‘Blue Valentine’ star for details moments after his exchange with the action hero. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Bruce Willis and Ryan Gosling meet for the first time at the Weinstien Golden Globes afterparty Photo: MTV News One of the best things about covering awards-show red carpets — in addition to all of the glamorous fashion — is getting to watch all of the celebrity-on-celebrity interactions. A particularly exciting exchange went down at a Golden Globes afterparty hosted by the Weinsteins, where MTV News looked on as A-list actors Bruce Willis and Ryan Gosling met for the first time. We were lucky enough to chat with Gosling moments after the big introduction so, of course, we had to ask what he and Willis had discussed, whether the seasoned action star imparted any wisdom to Gosling and so forth. “I can’t talk about it,” Gosling quipped. Sensing that the “Blue Valentine” star was holding back but secretly wanted to share some exciting tidbit with us, we pressed further, asking whether he was able to secure a part in “Die Hard 5” during their brief conversation. “No comment,” Gosling responded with a smile. Fair enough. We ceased our probing and instead asked Gosling if it was in fact the first time he’d ever met the veteran actor. “[That was the] first time I ever met Bruce Willis,” Gosling confirmed. “I know, it’s nice. I haven’t had time to process it because I’m trying to talk about him. I don’t know how I feel about it.” In spite of making introductions with numerous photographers and TV crews present, Gosling said he thought the exchange, though short, went well. “I do feel good [about it],” he said. “I wanted it to be more private. In my mind, it wasn’t in front of all these people.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Blue Valentine.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’ Coming To ‘Glee,’ Amber Riley Says

‘Glee’ actress tells MTV News to also expect ‘Somebody to Love.’ By Mawuse Ziegbe Amber Riley Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty We already knew Justin Bieber’s music will turn up on an upcoming episode of “Glee,” but we weren’t sure which smash the McKinley High crew would be remaking — until now. “Glee” star Amber Riley confirmed to MTV News on Sunday (January 16) that not just one, but two Bieber jams will be made over by the cast of the hit song-and-dance show, including the Ludacris-assisted chart-topper “Baby,” which was dubbed the most viewed music video on YouTube in 2010 . “There’s gonna be two Bieber songs, and I think ‘Baby’ is one. I think that’s correct,” Riley disclosed on the Golden Globes red carpet. According to Riley, the Gleeks are also set to rock another Bieber-helmed dance-floor filler: “Somebody to Love.” “I think … those are the two songs,” she revealed. “Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy also recently dished that part of Bieber’s pop&B repertoire would make it into the show. In a very apt use of the pop star’s teen-hysteria-inducing hits, Murphy said the Biebs’ music would be the backdrop for a scene in which one of the fellas tries to win over one of the “Glee” ladies. “Bieber comes up in episode 13 as a small plot point. Sam [Chord Overstreet] sings a J.B. song to win Quinn’s [Dianna Agron] approval,” Murphy said recently. In addition to Bieber, Lady Gaga is slated to get the “Glee” treatment once again, this time for a track that hasn’t even dropped. Murphy said Mother Monster’s forthcoming “Born This Way” single will serve as the inspiration for an episode about school bully Karofsky (played by Max Adler), who the show has hinted is gay. “I love that that song is [an] anthem,” Murphy said. “This show is by nature optimistic, and I think a character like Karofsky could turn to booze or pills or alcohol and kill themselves or do something dark. But I also love Max and I love that character and I sorta want that character to have a happy ending. “So I don’t really know what that’s going to be,” he continued. “But I do know we’re going to do a whole episode that’s about that song.” Are you looking forward to hearing the “Glee” cast perform Justin Bieber’s music? Ryan Gosling Had ‘No Nerves’ Going Into The Golden Globes

‘We were in no danger of winning,’ the ‘Blue Valentine’ star tells MTV News of his Best Actor in a Drama loss. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Ryan Gosling Photo: David Livingston/ Getty Images The last few interactions MTV News has had with Ryan Gosling have been interesting, to say the least. Going back to January 2010, when we first had the opportunity to sit down with him and “Blue Valentine” co-star Michelle Williams, what should have been a serious conversation about a serious movie ended up introducing us to a new term: “cranking.” “It’s when you cry while you masturbate,” Gosling explained at the time. Now, ever since that fateful interview, it’s become a running joke, and we bring it up every time we encounter the Golden Globe-nominated actor. Case in point, the Weinstein Golden Globes afterparty, where we asked Gosling if he would be dealing with his loss in the Best Actor category to “King’s Speech” star Colin Firth by cranking. Gosling scoffed at that suggestion and insisted he has never cranked. “I never did crank,” he said. “I know you think that I did, but I didn’t.” Fair enough, Ryan. So in all seriousness, how did he handle the pressure of being nominated and then not winning? “We were in no danger of winning,” Gosling said. “So there were no nerves, no speeches to plan. Just [going] to have a nice night. I had a nice time — did you?” Gosling asked of “Valentine” writer/director Derek Cianfrance. “I had a very nice night, yes,” Cianfrance responded. “There was nice cucumber sandwiches on white bread. Little rectangles, finger sandwiches, I think. That was a good time.” “There was a menu,” Gosling added. “But no evidence of what was on that menu ever appeared.” We’ve got the Golden Globes covered! Ryan Gosling Calls ‘Blue Valentine’ A ‘Cautionary Tale’ For Couples

‘People can see the film and can see themselves in it or say, ‘How do we keep that from happening?’ ‘ he tells MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by: Josh Horowitz Ryan Gosling Photo: MTV News We already know Ryan Gosling thinks his latest film, “Blue Valentine,” is a “nice companion piece” to his 2004 romantic drama “The Notebook.” And this is despite “Valentine” having much darker, more sexually charged elements and some MPAA ratings drama . But we wanted to know, given the film’s edgier theme, is it detrimental or beneficial for a couple to see together? “I think it’s the best thing for a couple to see, honestly. I’m not just trying to sell the movie,” Gosling insisted when MTV News caught up with him. “Well, I am trying to hawk the movie,” he laughed, adding that he thinks it’s good for couples to see and experience together, since it will prompt discussion or that it may bring to light existing problems in a relationship that the couple could be trying to ignore. “If there is a problem in their relationship, they’re not able to look at it, and they’re caught in their own experience of it, there’s no dialogue about any of the bigger issues,” Gosling explained. “I think [‘Blue Valentine’ is] a cautionary tale about what can happen to love if you ignore it and you take it for granted.” He went on to say that, because the film highlights the “nitty-gritty” of what it takes to sustain a romantic relationship, it will get couples talking. “I think that people can see the film and can see themselves in it or say, ‘How do we keep that from happening?’ ” Check out everything we’ve got on “Blue Valentine.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
