Howard Stern: I Fired Artie Lange When He Needed Me Most

Howard Stern has been in the news a lot this week thanks to his new memoir. Of course, Stern has been one of the most visible figures in American media for close to 40 years now, but in his latest round of interviews, he’s opening about matters he doesn’t discuss publicly — including his falling out with a troubled former friend. If you’ve been following the sad story of Artie Lange, then you know that it’s been mostly downhill for the beloved comic ever since he was fired from Stern’s radio show over a decade ago. Most recently, fans were stunned by reports that Lange was back in jail after failing a court-ordered drug test following several months of sobriety. Of course, Lange’s problems date back to well before his tenure on Stern’s show, and it was the comic’s substance abuse that prompted Howard to fire him. “What’s happening with Artie makes me very sad. We’ve lost touch, and that’s my doing,” Stern told the New York Times this week. “I got my fingers crossed for the guy. And it wasn’t a clean break.” While Stern accepts responsibility for cutting off a close friend in his time of need, he insists he made a real effort to help Lange get clean. “It was many years of wanting Artie to get help,” the former shock jock said. Stern also revealed that his reason for not discussing Lange’s struggles more frequently is simple — the topic makes him sad. I know that a lot of fans want me to talk about Artie and feel it’s a cop-out for me not to. I’ll take that. I don’t want to do anything that would rock his boat,” he told the Times . “I get sad talking about Artie. He was a tremendous contributor. But we had to move on.” One show insider tells Radar Online that Lange’s frequent relapses left Stern feeling that he couldn’t be trusted: “When Artie left, Howard kind of felt betrayed in a sense,” the source said . “Like Artie had all of these opportunities and all of these chances, but he let his addiction get to him.”  The insider claims that Stern gave Lange countless chances before eventually reaching the difficult decision to cut him loose: “He ruined every chance he got,” the insider added. “Artie was digging his own grave, and Howard just couldn’t watch it happen anymore. He had no choice but to let him go.” These days, Lange is out of jail and participating in a rehab program. As fans know, it’s certainly not the first time that Lange has been in treatment, but those who know the comic best say that he remains hopeful. We wish him all the best. Danny Baker, BBC Host, Fired for Comparing Royal Baby to a Chimp

Congratulations are in order for Samantha Markle. Despite her expected rude comments in the wake of her half-sister and Prince Harry welcoming a son named Archie into the world on Monday… this bitter waste of television air time is no longer responsible for the most insensitive reaction to the arrival of the Royal Baby. Indeed, that dishonor has firmly been claimed instead by BBC host Danny Baker. A veteran broadcaster in Great Britain, the 61-year old reacted to Markle and Harry debuting their precious newborn to the world yesterday by… … Tweeting a photo of a chimp in a suit holding hands with a smartly dressed couple and writing as a caption; “Royal baby leaves hospital.” The snapshot, naturally, sparked immediate outrage due to the clear racist undertones against Markle, whose mother, Doria Ragland, is African American. Faced with this strongly deserved backlash, Baker deleted the message and said he was sorry the “gag” had “whipped some up.” He then claimed the negative connotations had not occurred to him because his “mind (is) not diseased,” taking the impressively bold approach of accusing critics of racism for pointing out his racism. In a second message, Baker said that the tweet was “supposed to be a joke about Royals vs circus animals in posh clothes but interpreted as about monkeys & race, so rightly deleted. Royal watching not my forte.” On Thursday, the broadcaster said he made an “enormous mistake.” But it was far too late to save his job. “This was a serious error of judgment and goes against the values we as a station aim to embody,” said a BBC spokesperson yesterday, adding: “Danny’s a brilliant broadcaster but will no longer be presenting a weekly show with us.” As you can see above, Baker tried to save face by appealing directly to Meghanm, Harry and their son, writing online: Would have used same stupid pic for any other Royal birth or Boris Johnson kid or even one of my own. It’s a funny image. (Though not of course in that context.) Enormous mistake, for sure. Grotesque. Anyway, here’s to ya Archie, Sorry mate. But then he also referred to his firing as a “masterclass of pompous faux-gravity” and slammed the network for taking this course of action by Tweeting: “Took a tone that said I actually meant that ridiculous tweet and the BBC must uphold blah blah blah,” he added. “Literally threw me under the bus. Could hear the suits knees knocking. #Fuckem. Ever since the announcement of her pregnancy, Markle has been a target of racist abuse across social media. In March, the Kensington Palace staff announced it would devote a bevy of resources to deleting comments targeting the Duchess of Sussex, and also to blocking abusive Twitter and Instagram accounts. Moreover, the Royal household issued a set of guidelines for people engaging with its social media channels. It’s all very disturbing, but we’re gonna choose to focus on the positive here instead — which is that Archie has arrived! “Mother and baby are doing incredibly well,” Harry said in his first public comments since becoming a father, adding in lovable fashion “This has been the most amazing experience I could possibly imagine. Briana DeJesus Protests Jenelle Evans’ Firing: It’s SO Unfair!!

Just a couple of months ago, Jenelle Evans confided in Briana DeJesus that she feared being fired from Teen Mom 2 . Well, after the brutal murder of Jenelle’s dog by her monstrous husband, David Eason, that fear has been realized. But Briana isn’t just mourning her friend’s firing — she’s defending Jenelle On Wednesday, Briana Dejesus spoke to Us Weekly and about MTV’s decision to finally, finally fire Jenelle. “I am sad for her,” Briana expressed for some reason. Ah yes, because the real victim right now is Jenelle, who is trying to save her horrible marriage instead of leaving David and pressing charges. Briana added: “I wish there was some kind of compromise for all of this.” “She worked her ass off for so long,” she laments. “To just be thrown to the wolves.” Despite Jenelle’s apparent lack of a moral compass or common sense concern for the safety of herself, her dogs, or her kids, Briana wishes her well. “I hope she gets everything she ever wanted,” Briana said. Unfortunately, what Jenelle wants has, historically and recently, been dangerous for her, for her kids, and for her pets. That’s as true with baby daddies as it was with drugs. “And,” Briana adds. “I just want her to flourish!” “She will be OK,” she predicts with zero evidence to back up her claim. “As far as David,” Briana continued. “It sucks that his actions caused all of this,” she grossly understated. “But,” Briana said. “This is what it is and there’s no going back.” That is such a weird, meaningless statement. We don’t expect for her to be calling for him to be guillotined (though she wouldn’t be alone if she were), but she’s so noncommittal. As we mentioned, MTV has decided to let go of Jenelle, presumably before the next murder in the family is committed on camera. “MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018,” the network’s statement began. “And,” they continued. “Has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since.” “Additionally,” MTV added. “We have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019.” “And,” the statement concluded. “Have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.” We all see awful things in the news every single day. Those of us who write about these stories read everything that there is to know about shocking events in order to cover the topic. Sometimes, after deep diving through enough people’s harrowing trauma, people get numb. But the thought of Nugget’s last moments of life, full of pain and fear, has kept people (myself included) up at night. We understand that Briana is trying to be supportive of her friend, but to speak so cavalierly about a violent man is shocking. If Briana were really Jenelle’s friend, she would be urging her to get out and to seek justice for Nugget before another horror takes place. Incidentally, a long-disputed election in Jenelle’s home county in NC was finally resolved just days ago. That’s what happens when a race for county sheriff was decided by a difference of fewer than 40 votes. However, even the current sheriff acknowledged that David Eason was the “most dangerous man in three counties.” Hyperbole or not, that’s 3% of the counties in the 10th most populous state in the country. But even if the new sheriff has a tougher approach to crime, her hands may be just as tied as the current sheriff. Jenelle will either work up the resolve to do the right thing for herself, for her kids, and for Nugget … or she’ll help David get away with murder. We can’t help but wonder how Briana will feel the next time that David inevitably does something sickening and vile. Wishing that you’d encouraged your friend to leave her beast of a husband doesn’t do much good if it comes too late. Jenelle is isolated from so many people, in part becaue of David but also from her own behavior. Briana may be one of the few people who can reach out and push Jenelle to make a smart choice for the first time in a long time. Farrah Abraham Remembers Derek Underwood in Touching Tribute

So look, a lot of people have a lot of feelings about Farrah Abraham. And yes, pretty much all of those feelings are negative. It makes sense — after all, she’s not really a likable person . Part of the reason she got fired from Teen Mom OG was because she couldn’t manage to just be civil to the crew members filming her. On television, on social media, in interviews … pretty much every single time we’ve seen her in any context, she’s just rude and nasty and really, really dumb . Even so, there’s always been a few things about Farrah that definitely make us feel some sympathy for her. One of those is the fact that she lost Derek Underwood, her sometimes boyfriend and the father of her daughter, Sophia, when she was pregnant. She wasn’t open about what happened during her episode of 16 and Pregnant and early on in the Teen Mom series, but since then, we’ve been able to piece together what happened. Basically, she and Derek dated for a while, but they often fought and broke up. It didn’t help that her parents didn’t approve of her relationship with him — once her father caught Derek in her bedroom and chased him out of the house with a knife. She got pregnant, but she didn’t tell Derek, and she never got a chance to tell him. He passed away in a car accident just two months before she gave birth to Sophia. It was devastating for her, and understandably so — even if they weren’t together at the time of his death, he was still the father of her unborn child. It would have been a lot to handle, especially for a teenager. Farrah went on to … well, we all know all what she went on to do , but in the years since Derek’s death, she’s never forgotten him. She always keeps his memory alive for Sophia, and since yesterday would have been his 29th birthday, she took the time to celebrate him in a tribute she shared on Instagram. It’s a lot, so buckle up. “To the one very special person I celebrate and remember like no other,” she began. “Happy Birthday Derek I love you, May 8th you would be 29 today, birthdays used to be so simple.” “You gave me that once in a lifetime love of my life everyone so deserves,” she continued, “you gave me so many 1st’s, from virginity, proms, trips, my first ring, you showed me unconditional love, you showed what relationships are, from prom, graduation, to our only child …” “All the events that had happened the entire sequence was one filled with the thrill, love & loss.” Yeah, this barely makes sense, but this is Farrah, and she’s trying, OK? After that, she wrote “Now I share a birthday breakfast in your memory & all our best photos and your childhood photos with our daughter.” “I see all of your messages to me, & your written letters. Thank you for being the best loving man I know, and one of the strongest.” “Our groups of friends & haters can’t deny our legendary times, from school, parties, summer nights & in-between,” she added. “My partner in crime getting me in all the trouble — love you legend we all miss you today more than ever & so much love, memories from Sophia & I, family, friends and those who watched over the years.” “Happy Birthday I love & miss you, and thank you for everything you did for me,” she finished. Farrah Abraham is not the kind of person we enjoy defending. She's often ignorant; she's rude to the people in her life, and she exploits her daughter for financial gain. But there's this weird thing going on where Farrah is being bullied by transphobic morons on social media, and it's simply not okay. So yet again, we will defend Farrah … kind of. She has the right to post racy pics of herself without being maligned by bigots. But all the other stuff she does? Like, say, once again exploiting the memory of her dead baby daddy? Yeah, go ahead and roast her ass for that. Here's a brief rundown of what Farrah's been up to on the 'Gram this week: 1. Farrah Fully Clothed It’s an increasingly rare sight these days, as the reality-star-turned cam girl continues to show a lot of skin on the internet. 2. Topless Again Farrah has been posting even more racy pics than usual in recent weeks. And some fans have a theory as to why. 3. Cleavage For Cash? It’s widely believed that Farrah is in dire financial straits. The nude and semi-nude photos she’s been posting lately could be a way of calling attention to her failing business ventures. 4. Haters Gonna Hate It’s perfectly fine for Ms. Abraham to post revealing photos for whatever reason she chooses. Unfortunately, her most recent posts have attracted the wrong kind of attention. 5. Ariana Grande Makes Keeping Up With The Kardashians Debut: WATCH!

Last year, Kris Jenner made her music video debut in Ariana Grande's “Thank U, Next” music video . Her small but pivotal role in the video was an absolute surprise. It was also a delight . Now, Keeping Up With The Kardashians is giving the world a behind-the-scenes look as Kris prepares — featuring Ariana herself. Last year, just weeks after breaking off her engagement with Pete Davidson, Ariana launched “Thank U, Next.” The music video contained homages to a number of classic films, including Mean Girls . One of the most famous and beloved scenes in Mean Girls was when Amy Poehler's character (one of the best moms in film history) dances in the audience. Kris is of course the star of the “you're doing amazing, sweetie” meme, which has often been viewed as a parallel to that scene. Thanks to Ariana's brilliance, she decided to combine the two by bringing in the legendary Kris Jenner. The results were amazing. “The fires are still burning in Calabasas, but the show must go on,” Kris tells the camera in this sneak peek. Sunday's Keeping Up With The Kardashians will give viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Kris' process. Now that she's reminded viewers of the timing of this, she provides further context. “It’s the day of the shoot,” Kris shares. “And I feel really excited to go make my Ariana Grande video debut.” That excitement only mounts when Ariana herself arrives. Kris Jenner and Ariana Grande are two of the most famous (non-politician) Slytherins on the planet. Seeing them side-by-side is a real treat. As part of complimenting each other's looks, Kris mentions Ariana's lips. “She walked in with a Kylie box, like this big,” Ariana says, referring to Kylie Cosmetics products. “I literally started crying my eyes out,” she reveals. “And I put everything on” The biggest treat in this sneak peek, for viewers, has to be Ariana walking Kris through how to dance. Any Millennial would know the dance, and the homage, from Mean Girls . (At least, the ones born from like 1985 to 1992 would) Ariana coaches Kris, and watching them in action is just a trip. Kris should always dance in every episode. But, as Ariana explains, she's making references to other films, too. Ariana tells Kris about the homages and sets that she has for the video. We're talking Legally Blonde , 13 Going On 30 , and Bring It On . The cultural impact of these films cannot be overstated. Of course, the same can be said of Ariana herself — and of course, of Kris Jenner. “Guys,” Ariana gushes. “I’m so excited to make my  Keeping Up with the Kardashians  debut!” We may be occupying a world of nightmares where every day's news cycle brings some new horror … but it's not all bad. We also live in a world that gave us a collaboration between Kris and Ariana. It's been amazing to see these two titans of the entertainment industry work together to create something so mesmerizing and entertaining. We know that Khloe's drama is taking center stage this season. But it's going to be nice to see Kris' adventures behind the scenes with Ariana.

Prince Harry Admits to Missing Late Mother While Celebrating Royal Birth

Fans of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are still getting over the joyful announcement of the royal baby name . But Harry is back to work, and holding earnest conversations with people even as he beams with pride as a new father. The prince has also spoken of how he misses his mother, the late great Princess Diana. A veteran by the name of Dennis van der Stroon spoke to Prince Harry on Thursday during the new father’s trip to the Netherlands. Van der Stroon then spoke to Hello! about the exchange, in which they reflected upon both fatherhood and loss. “Harry talked about how having a small child was his new focus and new goal,” van der Stroon reveals. He recalls: “and I told him how a couple of months ago, I was struggling with my mental health.” “But,” van der Stroon told the prince. “My wife’s pregnancy has given me a goal.” Like Prince Harry, van der Stroon lost his mother when he was young and is also about to become a father. “Above all,” he comments. “He said he was just amazed by the miracles in the world.” It sounds like he’s very pumped up by being a new father. And he knows that he’s not the only one. van der Stroon adds: “and how his child has made a lot of people happy.” That is certainly true. “He also told me he’s really happy that his son is so far very quiet,” van der Stroon shares. Hey, that’s something that we didn’t know about baby Archie. “But,” he continues. “He also told me not to make too many plans.” Ban der Stroon explains: “and that there’s no way you can plan for when the baby arrives.” That is absolutely true. “I told Harry about my mother,” van der Stroon shares, noting that they could relate to each other. It has been more than 20 years since Princess Diana’s tragic death. “And,” he reveals. “We talked about our shared experience of missing a mum.” That is heartbreaking for both of them. “He said missing a mother is like missing some kind of security,” van der Stroon expresses. Van der Stroon says that Harry spoke of “how you need that [security] as a son and it falls away when you lose your mother.” He and his brother were then under a spotlight as never before while they mourned, which only compounded the trauma. “He said he meets a lot of people in his work who have lost a mother, father, sister, brother, or relatives,” van der Stroon shares. Prince Harry is known for his charity work, following in his late mother’s footsteps. “And when he hears their story, as he heard my story,” van der Stroon concludes. “He said he doesn’t feel so alone.” Harry and Meghan shared their happy news earlier this week. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor,” they shared on Instagram. “This afternoon,” the statement read. “Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle.” “The Duke of Edinburgh and the duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion,” the post added. They are, perhaps, the four most famous kids in the world. Or, to put it more accurately, they were, most definitely, the four most famous babies on earth at the time of their birth. Five years ago, Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed Prince George into the world. He was followed two years later by sister Charlotte and then two years after that by brother Louis. Fast forward about 12 months as Louis made his grand entrance and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry joined the human-creating fray by introducing everyone to son Archie . Well,  Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor to be exact. On the heels of Archie's first-ever photos, we thought it would be fun to take a look back and compare ALL first-ever photos of all four Royal Children. Jill Duggar Must Be Pregnant. Here’s Why.

Over in Great Britain this week, residents are fixated on Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and their brand new son, Archie. Plenty of tea, crumpets and Yorkshire pudding are being devoured in celebration. Across the ocean, however, the eyes of a different nation are turned to the womb of a different woman and the potential that she, too, will give birth somewhere down the line. Which is a very drawn-out way of asking: IS JILL DUGGAR PREGNANT? This question has been asked before, of course. Just this past February, fans were convinced that Duggar was expecting baby number-three … and it’s possible they were correct. It’s possible she had recently gotten knocked up by husband Derick Dillard, yet hadn’t announced it yet. As for why Internet users strongly believe that Jill will, indeed, confirm some big news in the very near future? It all comes down to this photo: The image was shared by Anna Duggar a few days ago and it seemed to tease at least one upcoming Duggar pregnancy announcement was on tap. “#Throwback to when Jill, Joy & I were pregnant together!” wrote Anna as a caption to this old picture, adding on Instagram: “Currently, there are 4 Duggar sisters/sisters-in-law that have shared expectant baby news! I wonder how many more new cousins will be announced before our little one arrives?!?!” She then added the hashtag #littleduggars . Naturally, such a tease had everyone buzzing — especially over the inclusion of Jill in this throwback photo. Why? Because Anna and Joy actually are pregnant right now! They’ve already alerted the universe to this blessed fact. Therefore, many folks around the Twitter are wondering, why would Anna have added Jill to this memorable snapshot, and also written such an intriguing caption… unless she was also with child?!? “Way to not-so-subtly imply that there are others who have fallen pregnant but are just waiting to announce,” wrote one Instagram user in response to Anna’s post, echoing our sentiment exactly. Along with Anna and Joy, Kendra and Amy Duggar are also ALL pregnant, which really is pretty extreme… even for the Duggars. Jill, meanwhile, is the mother to a son named Samuel and another named Israel. Because she had this last name, we have to assume she’ll welcome at least one or seven more kids before all is said and done. However, husband Derick is currently in law school. It would be challenging for him to continue with his studies and help out with an additonal child at home. Moreover, Jill went through a pair of notoriously difficult births that resulted in C-sections. Hence all the chatter over whether she and Derick might adopt their third baby at some point. Hailey and the Biebs are married, but this week, they went out in public and did not look like a happy couple. A new report can explain the conflict and its all-too-familiar source. Is this the end of their nascent marriage? On Wednesday, May 8, Justin Bieber and his wife, Hailey Baldwin, were spotted walking out and about in New York. That’s no real shock. Justin has been in treatment for his mental health, and has reportedly been doing so in the Big Apple. What people found shocking was that something seemed to be majorly off between the married couple. In contrast to their PDA-filled walks around London, it looked like Justin was keeping his distance from his own wife. WTH?! RadarOnline reports that this can all be explained, because Justin is currently distracted by thoughts of another woman: Selena Gomez. “Justin and Selena are in contact from time to time,” an insider, who is allegedly close to Selena, reports. The source explains that this is “because they have both gone through really dark periods this past year.” Selena’s health battle has been ongoing and brutal, and Justin has been fighting for his own mental wellbeing. The insider adds that the two endured crises “at almost the same time.” According to the report, this alleged love triangle has spilled over into the public appearances that the stars choose to make. “Selena avoided the Met gala,” the source observes. Meanwhile, Hailey showed up without Bieber. The insider says that this is “because she thinks that Hailey is a phase that Justin is going through.” “And,” the source grimly notes. “Hailey knows this.” That’s a great reminder that, last year, Hailey attended with Shawn Mendes. This year, she attended as a married woman. Wild. It was only about a month and a half ago when Justin Bieber admitted that he’ll always love Selena . “Justin recently said that he still loved Selena,” the insider points out. Apparently, this did not go over well on the marital front. Hailey of course heard “and Hailey lost it,” the reports claims. It doesn’t help that many considered Justin going back to Hailey a rebound after his rekindled romance with Selena fizzled out. “Selena knows that Justin loves her,” the source affirms. Thankfully, there’s some good news. The insider continues: “but she has moved on with her life.” Those of us who didn’t love seeing one of the world’s most talented singers play babysitter to a talented by troubled young man can breathe a sigh of relief. “And,” the report notes, Selena “has started dating again.” RadarOnline also spoke to a “body language expert,” which is a great career to take up since phrenology fell out of style. The thing that makes body language experts so convincing is that they combine common sense with imagination to paint a compelling picture. Based upon all of the sightings of the Biebs and Hailey, he did seem like he was lost in his own little world. (We obviously don’t have an issue with experts, but there are very specific “fields” of expertice that are given more credence than they deserve) Now, we have to emphasize that nothing in this report — nothing about Justin’s issues being linked to Selena — are confirmed. If they are in touch, we’re sure that Selena has zero desire to harm that marriage or to start things up with the Biebs again.
