According to Buzzfeed News , White supremacists managed to trick the celebs into recording videos spewing coded anti-Semitic views and conspiracy theories . Bruh. The two YouTubers in question used the new app where you pay celebrities to record videos. The racist tag team paid Brett Farve $500, Soulja Boy $100 and Andy Dick $99 to unknowingly help their racist agenda by recording the videos with a prepared statement and then they transfer them over to their YouTube accounts in hopes of them going viral. Here is the statement: “Shoutout to the Handsome Truth and the GDL boys. You guys are patriots in my eyes. So keep waking them up and don’t let the small get you down. Keep fighting, too, and don’t ever forget the USS Liberty and the men and women who died on that day. God bless and take care.” Sounds harmless, but the above rhetoric is filled with coded anti-Semitic dog whistles. The use of “small” refers to “small hats” a slur used to describe yarmulkes. “Liberty” refers to an incident back in 1967 during the Six-Day War where Israeli Forces mistook a US Spy Ship for an Egyptian Vessel firing on it and killing 34. The families of those killed were part of a $6.7 million payout from the government, but conspiracy theories continue to float around the incident claiming it was not an accident. All three of the celebs recorded videos on the app saying the statement. Unlike Favre, Andy Dick didn’t mention the entire message in his recording and Soulja Boy added his own twist by telling viewers to check out his new single and adding “GDL for life, bitch.” Spokespeople for both Soulja Boy and Andy Dick denounce the incident with the comedian’s agent stressing that his client was “used and manipulated.” Favre has reached out to the app’s creator and requested the video be taken down and has issued a statement via his Facebook page stating in part: “A few days later, I was distressed to learn that the request came from an anti-Semitic group that reposted my video with comments implying I endorsed their mission. T he Supreme Court’s ruling Monday night that Trump’s commerce secretary doesn’t have to explain under oath his reason for adding what some say is a racist question to the 2020 Census was a major victory for the president. To perhaps no one’s surprise, Justice Clarence Thomas was reportedly among the judges’ leading voices with the dissenting opinion that overturned a lower court’s prior ruling that sided with immigrant-rights activists. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross approved the addition of a Census question that asked if the person filling out the form was an American citizen. The pushback was immediate, labeling the move as a form of racism that would simplify the targeting non-citizens Trump’s anti-immigration and pro-deportation government. A federal judge ultimately ruled Ross should be deposed over the question, but Monday night’s ruling ended any thoughts of that notion. Monday night’s decision wasn’t a total victory for Trump. While the Supreme Court overturned the lower courts’ rulings on the Census question, “The administration’s request to temporarily block other lower court orders for the lawsuits, however, were not successful,” NPR reported . “The Supreme Court is allowing the plaintiffs’ attorneys to question Justice Department official John Gore, who leads the department’s civil rights division that the administration says needs the citizenship question to better enforce the Voting Right Act. The ruling was also so crucial because the Census is used to tally an accurate headcount of people living in the U.S. But now, with the renewed threat of surveillance and deportation, it was doubtful many, if any, noncitizens would participate. Of the roughly 11 million undocumented immigrants in America, just about 600,000 of them were Black, according to the most recent statistics by the Migration Policy Institute . The consequences of not having full Census participation could be catastrophic for cities, states, businesses, households and, of course, individuals, according to the Brookings Institute. “Without an accurate Census, many states and cities will be denied the full funding they deserve and need, and the federal government will have to fly blind for a decade across a range of important areas,” the think tank wrote in a blog post last year when talk of the 2020 Census hit a fever pitch. But it was the overall racial implications for Black people in particular that were tough to ignore. Government officials in Jefferson County, GA had some 40 Africa-American elders disembark from a bus run by the group Black Voters Matter, which was taking them to cast votes early on Monday. According to AJC reports , the bus was readying to leave a senior center operated by Jefferson County when the center’s director told the group they’d have to get off the bus because a county clark had called voicing concerns. “We knew it was an intimidation tactic,” LaTosha Brown, co-founder of Black Voters Matters said Tuesday. “It was really unnecessary. These are grown people.” Tuesday Jefferson County’s administrator said the county government considered the event at the senior center “political activity,” which isn’t allowed during county-sponsored events — but Black Voters Matter is a nonpartisan group. Apparently the county government considered the event political because Jefferson County Democratic Party Chairwoman Diane Evans helped organize it, County Administrator Adam Brett said in a statement. “Jefferson County administration felt uncomfortable with allowing senior center patrons to leave the facility in a bus with an unknown third party,” Brett said. “No seniors at the Jefferson County senior center were denied their right to vote.” Does that sound like BS to you? Cuz it does to us. Brown says Black Voters Matter received permission in advance to have the event at the senior center. The event was intended to encourage seniors to vote but when some of the seniors asked whether they could ride the bus to an early-voting location, Black Voters Matter agreed to take them. Evans said that during the event, the senior citizens got excited about voting even danced by the bus while “Say It Loud — I’m Black and Proud” by James Brown blasted through the speakers. Things literally went south after someone saw the bus– which is painted with the words “The South is Rising Tour” and called county government offices, which in turn led to the phone call from the county clerk to the senior center. After being asked to leave the bus, the senior citizens agreed to part ways with the ride and vote later. “It was discouraging that they weren’t able to vote,” said Evans, who was on the bus. “When they’re suppressing votes, they’re going to come up with any kind of excuse about what your problem is.” Evans argued that the event wasn’t political and that none of the organizers advocated for any one candidate. She added that her involvement in the event was in her capacity as a private citizen, pastor and community leader, not as the chairwoman of the county’s Democratic Party. Despite this small setback Monday, Brown says she’s confident that all the seniors will have their votes count this election. “The seniors were so resolved. They said: ‘We’re going to vote. Nobody’s going to stop us,’ ” Brown said. “It wasn’t the first time someone has denied them or tried to prevent them from voting.” ThinkProgress first reported the incident Monday . We have to be vigilant and make ever incident like this known to the public. Black votes have been disenfranchised since this country’s beginning. This nation will never be great if all of its citizens are not allowed their rights.

According to CNN , three of these women, Kimberly Phillips, 2018 Delaware state titleholder, Missouri’s Brandy Palacios and 2018 New Jersey titleholder Crissy Timpson have hired lawyer Gloria Allred to represent them in their plea for a public apology, not a lawsuit. “At that point, Mr. Marmel asked if he could be frank with us,” Phillips said. He launched into a story about a black man he knew who grew up in the projects and chose school over drugs and gangs, and went on to become Marmel’s friend and attorney, Phillips said. “He (Marmel) then said that it is not the 1960s anymore and black people can’t rely on the government for assistance. He also stated that all black women need to stop having babies — with four baby daddies — and all black men are in jail because they need to stop selling drugs and killing each other,” Phillips said. Marmel, in cliche fashion, claims that his comments were “taken out of context”. However, he was witnessed making other remarks that make it pretty clear how he feels about Black folks. Kimberly Phillips recounts this part of Marmel’s racist azz conversation: “At that point, Mr. Marmel asked if he could be frank with us,” Phillips said. Why didn’t anyone at Ebony slap fire out of Marmel? But we digress… Bottom line is, these women want to make sure that Marmel is never allowed to speak to other Mrs. America contestants like this ever again. We can only hope that he’s removed from his position by someone who has the moral compass to give a damn.

While at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, the former commander-in-chief slammed President Donald Trump and the Republican Party in the most eloquent way possible. Politico reports : Laying out a brief history of America — starting with George Washington’s decision to step out of public life after leaving the presidency — Obama framed the 2018 elections as more significant than ever before. And for the first time since leaving office, he said Trump’s name. Obama unfurled a paragraph-by-paragraph condemnation of Trump, his presidency and what he has uncorked in American politics. “It did not start with Donald Trump. He is a symptom, not the cause,” Obama said to applause. “He’s just capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years.” It’s not just about Trump, Obama said. It’s about Republicans “who know better in Congress … bending over backwards to shield” Trump. They’re hypocrites, he said, and they’re just as dangerous to America. At times mocking them and at times laying into them, Obama said they’ve abandoned all that they’re supposed to stand for as Republicans, and as citizens of this country.
