While at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, the former commander-in-chief slammed President Donald Trump and the Republican Party in the most eloquent way possible. Politico reports : Laying out a brief history of America — starting with George Washington’s decision to step out of public life after leaving the presidency — Obama framed the 2018 elections as more significant than ever before. And for the first time since leaving office, he said Trump’s name. Obama unfurled a paragraph-by-paragraph condemnation of Trump, his presidency and what he has uncorked in American politics. “It did not start with Donald Trump. He is a symptom, not the cause,” Obama said to applause. “He’s just capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years.” It’s not just about Trump, Obama said. It’s about Republicans “who know better in Congress … bending over backwards to shield” Trump. They’re hypocrites, he said, and they’re just as dangerous to America. At times mocking them and at times laying into them, Obama said they’ve abandoned all that they’re supposed to stand for as Republicans, and as citizens of this country. Reports TMZ : The NFL Hall of Famer appeared on “The JT The Brick Show” on Fox Sports Radio and since he’s met with so many Presidents in the past, he was asked how he felt about Trump. “I should be criticizing Trump on every level because he does certain things that call for criticism but when I look at television I see all these announcers become experts and they’re pointing the fingers and they’re not doing a doggone thing but pointing their fingers, I find myself really pulling for the president.” “Now, that would make me very unpopular in the black community, very unpopular with a lot of Americans … but I think that there are certain good things that are coming out of this Presidency because we’ve never seen anything like it.” He added, “I mean there’s confusion. A lot of people are retiring. A lot of people are giving their opinions and we have to really dig deep down inside to come with the right kind of an answer.” Also worth mentioning, despite saying it was fine late last year , Brown reportedly returned to being against NFL protesters kneeling during the National Anthem. Congresswoman Maxine Waters Talks About Why She’s Dedicated To Trump’s Impeachment Clap it up for Congresswoman Maxine Waters. The 78-year-old politician continues to speak out publicly against Donald Trump and a new Washington Post article hones in on her newfound status amongst millenials who are just as determined to see him impeached. The outlet details a recent open mic appearance Waters made at Busboys & Poets in D.C. where she spoke fervently against Trump: “Donald Trump is someone that found his way to the presidency of the United States of America — I still don’t know how,” she said, drawing boos at the mention of the president’s name. “But he’s someone that I’m committed to getting impeached!” “He’s a liar! He’s a cheat!
