WARNING: The following video is disturbing in nature. It depicts an unknown assailant ramming two slow-moving cars through a group of protestors who had gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia to object to the recent words and actions of White Supremacists in the area. After the car slams on the gas and plows other vehicles into this contingent of civilians, it hits reverse and speeds up in the opposite direction, hitting other individuals along the way. At the moment, one person is reported dead and 19 injured as a result of this terrorist act. Chaos has broken out in Charlottesville after modern day Nazis marched through the University of Virginia campus on Friday night, chanting epithets and yelling that “White Lives Matter.” They did so in response to the removal of a statue of late Civil War General Robert E. Lee. The following morning, counter protestors took to the streets of this city, which is now under an official state of emergency, per Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. In response to the civil unrest, President Donald Trump said a bunch of meaningless cliches and refused to point any fingers at the White Nationalists for their points of view or their violent actions. “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides,” Trump said in a short statement from his private golf club in New Jersey. He added: “It has been going on for a long time in our country – not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. It has been going on for a long, long time. It has no place in America.” The Commander-in-Chief did not mention White Supremacists or the the alt-right movement in his remarks, and later called for a “study” of the “situation.” Take a look below at the tragic incident that took these protests to a new and fatal level:

Getty Images Here’s A Gallery Of Rapper’s Who Like To Flaunt Their Cash For Everybody To See Since the release of ‘4:44,’ everyone has been bossing up and absorbing the knowledge the all-powerful Shawn Carter dropped on us throughout the album. One bar getting virtually every rapper’s panties in a bunch is the following lyric from “The Story Of O.J.”: “y’all on the ‘Gram holdin’ money to your ear, there’s a disconnect, we don’t call that money over here.” This shot most likely isn’t about one person in particular, because this practice of rappers flaunting their wealth–especially nowadays with Instagram and other social media venues–is completely ubiquitous. Though many credit (read: fault) the new rappers with pictures holding their entire record deal in cash up to their ear, they definitely aren’t the only culprits. Some legends and older rappers have been known to do the same thing, and catch virtually none of the blame. Y’all into the money calls, or you with Jay in thinking it’s corny? Let’s take a look at some of your favorite rappers with ever-so-cherished stacks of money, whether making long-distance phone calls or just flaunting in general: https://www.instagram.com/p/BLMo3HOhm1t/?taken-by=meekmill https://www.instagram.com/p/BNPfD9UBoCs/?taken-by=fettywap1738 https://www.instagram.com/p/BQvxVlbgTyX/?taken-by=quavohuncho https://www.instagram.com/p/BUORtpPj7DN/?taken-by=champagnepapi https://www.instagram.com/p/BVJP4dXHpI3/?taken-by=21savage https://www.instagram.com/p/8zy-nCsLyL/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BLhP-QjAkXM/?taken-by=lilyachty https://www.instagram.com/p/BSP8N0QA2e7/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BQLtbV9ACsD/?taken-by=quavohuncho https://www.instagram.com/p/BUU-dI4F3Ek/?taken-by=travisscott https://www.instagram.com/p/BMdeQvBhA3P/?taken-by=laflare1017&hl=en https://www.instagram.com/p/BSkLwW7jBo9/?taken-by=hairweavekiller&hl=en https://www.instagram.com/p/BQwAt1Dj418/?taken-by=richforever https://www.instagram.com/p/BWNwmM-F1aq/?taken-by=kodakblack
Image via Larry French/Getty Maryland Governor Looks Into Allegations Of Graduation Fraud In PG County Prince George’s County has 5 of the top 10 richest Black neighborhoods in America according to Atlanta Black Star . It stands to reason that communities like PG County where there are stable homes and economic empowerment would likely yield an above average high school graduation rate. However, according to the Washington Post , Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is skeptical of all the #blackexcellence taking place just outside the nation’s capitol. Governor Hogan has launched an investigation into PG County school’s where there have been allegations that teachers are finessing students’ grades to increase the graduation rate. The CEO of Prince George’s County Schools, Kevin Maxwell, denies any such thing. We’re definitely gonna keep an eye on this one. If Governor Hogan doesn’t come back with some hard evidence then this whole investigation into one of the wealthiest Black communities in America is gonna look REAL funny in the light.

The award-winning actress and singer/songwriter told the publication that she got her role in “Moonlight” after missing out on a role in “Star Trek.” “I don’t know if a lot of people know this,” she told Los Angeles Confidential. “but I auditioned for Star Trek prior to Moonlight. The casting director saw my tape and told [Moonlight director] Barry Jenkins about me. I didn’t get the part in Star Trek, but that’s why Barry reached out to me. And the rest is history.” She also spoke on the importance of taking on roles of characters considered “outcasts.” “I love telling these sorts of stories that give voice to those who are oftentimes uncelebrated, to those who don’t feel like they have a voice in America,” says Monáe of the characters central to both films—Moonlight’s Chiron, whom Monáe’s Teresa supports as a mother figure, and Hidden Figures’ Katherine Johnson, played by Taraji P. The killing of an allegedly unarmed African-American at the hands of a white police officer has led to a state of emergency in North Carolina. Keith Lamont Scott Shooting Leads to Charlotte Protests, Riots Governor Pat McCrory made this declaration on Thursday morning after protests and riots in the streets of Charlotte turned especially ugly and violent. The National Guard and State Highway Patrol were dispatched to the area after Keith Scott, a 43-year old black man, was shot and killed by officers on Tuesday. According to police, he refused to drop his handgun prior to the fatal incident. According to family members and a witness, Scott was holding a book, not a weapon. This sort of controversial shooting has become all too common across the nation, of course, with Terence Crutcher also being shot and killed in Tulsa this week. Multiple videos of Crutcher’s death have gone public, with neither making it appear as if the 40-year old deserved to be shot: Terence Crutcher: Shot and Killed by Police Terence Crutcher Helicopter Video: What Happened? In response to Scott’s shooting, a peaceful really turned violent yesterday when civilians threw rocks and bottles at police officers. They also broke into Charlotte storefronts and smashed windows along the way. Officers defended themselves with rubber bullets, tear gas, flash-bang grenades and pepper spray. One protester was shot and four police officers suffered non-life threatening injuries, city officials confirmed on Twitter. Wednesday marked the second straight night of unrest in North Carolina’s largest city, following numerous protesters and 16 officers being injured on Tuesday evening. As reported above, the turmoil prompted Governor McCrory to declare a state of emergency in an attempt to restore peace. “Any violence directed toward our citizens or police officers or destruction of property should not be tolerated,” McCrory said in a statement. Bank of America, which is based out of Charlotte, told its employees not to report to work in their uptown offices, while Mayor Jennifer Roberts is considering a city-wide curfew. There have also been protests in Tulsa in response to the Crutcher shooting, although these have remained more calm and civil. The White House has reported that President Barack Obama spoke by telephone on Wednesday with the mayors of Charlotte and Tulsa. Elsewhere, The American Civil Liberties Union is urging police officer to release their camera footage of the Keith Law incident. Roberts said she planned to view the footage on Thursday, yet did not indicate when (or if ) it would be made public. “We call for the full release of all facts available,” said William Barber, president of the state’s chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, in a statement. Earlier in the night, Scott’s wife, Rakeyia, issued her own statement, describing her family as “devastated” and appealing for peace in the city. “We have more questions than answers about Keith’s death,” she said.
