Earlier this week, Bette Midler called Ariana Grande a “whore.” No really, that happened. The 68-year-old music legend offered some career advice to the 21-year-old pop princess by basically telling her to put some clothes on and stop humping furniture in her music videos. Not surprisingly, Ari was less than thrilled with Bette’s unsolicited pro tips. In fact, sources claimed Ariana is a huge fan of Bette’s , and that she was shocked by the insults, as she always saw herself as following in Midler’s footsteps. Ari is known for her hot temper, and were fans braced for a full-blown War of the Divas. Sadly, when Grande finally responded to Bette’s comments on Twitter last night, she took the high road in admirable fashion: “Bette has always been a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever the F they wanted without judment,” Ari tweeted. “Not sure where that Bette went but I want that sexy mermaid back! Always a fan no matter what my love, and I will still quote first wives club every single day of my life lmao.” Oooooh, snap! Not only did Ari play the feminist card, she also played the seldom-used “Remember when you used to jiggle your things for the whole world?” card. Seriously though, Bette’s gotta be a little embarrassed that she just got out-classed by a woman who’s 47 years (!) her junior, and whom she just ragged on for her supposed lack of decorum. Ariana Grande continues to make a pretty strong case to take over as my new favorite pop star after this latest booty-filled performance at something called the Bambi Awards in Berlin, where according to my sources, she won an award for Best Newcomer too. And if all it takes to get Ariana to put on a booty show like this is to offer to give her a statue, I’m sure I’ve got a Little League trophy somewhere around here that I could scratch my name off of. Wow. I know that Ariana Grande ‘s been killing it in the hotness department lately , but I think these shots of her at the MTV European Music Awards in Glasgow might just be her best yet. Because between the super-cute cleavage and the leg show, Ariana put on one hell of a performance.
