‘We’ve decided to end our marriage,’ Reynolds confirms to MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson Photo: Kevin Mazur Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson are separating, MTV News has confirmed. TMZ first reported that the couple had split up and that things are “amicable” between them. As of now, neither has filed for divorce, according to the website, but they are living separately. “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” Reynolds said in a statement to MTV News. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. There’s a nice comfort in that. That part of your life is certain, in a way. Blake Lively Compares ‘The Town’ And ‘Green Lantern’

Actress relished the chance to play a ‘dark’ role in the drama and a fighter pilot in the superhero flick. By Kara Warner Blake Lively Photo: MTV News “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively has been expanding on her Upper East Side roots of late. She landed the coveted role of Carol Ferris opposite Ryan Reynolds’ Hal Jordan in “The Green Lantern” and can be seen holding her own with Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner in this week’s “The Town.” When MTV News caught up with the leading lady recently, we asked her how the effects work and acting requirements differed between the two very different roles. “With all the special effects, you’re in a big soundstage with blue walls and the world you’re acting opposite will be created months after you’re finished shooting,” Lively said of her work on “Lantern.” “So to watch that will be a very different experience, because I don’t know half of what I’m going to see. It’s so exciting, seeing all the visual arts and all the amazing effects they’re creating and the main characters they’re creating. I cannot wait to see it, because that’s one of the most important elements in our story.” Regarding “The Town,” Lively said there’s really no comparison because there’s no CGI in the movie. “Everything you’re seeing, we were doing in the moment,” she explained. “You’re just playing off of each other, a lot of reacting and a lot of improv. It was a very different experience, but both [movies] I just treasure so much. To get to do a role like this that is so dark and so different and so broken and then to go be in a superhero movie opposite such amazing actors and an incredible director, and not just be the damsel in distress, be a fighter pilot, be his boss at the company, to play women with strengths are the characters I’m most attracted to.” But will moviegoers — specifically the always-knowledgeable fans of the “Lantern” source material — get to see any signs of Ferris’ eventual villainy in the film? “No, not yet,” Lively said. “Well, I mean, there are always winks and homages to certain things in the comics for the fans, but I don’t think you know yet how evil she turns.” Are you more excited for “The Town” or “Green Lantern”? Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds To Star In Upcoming Buddy Cop Film

Duo will reportedly play police officers who are forced to work on a case with their fathers. By Adam Rosenberg Bradley Cooper Photo: Jun Sato/ Getty Images Deadpool and the A-Team’s Faceman may soon be fighting crime together. It’s an odd pairing that will be made even stranger by the fact that each will bring his dad along. Heartthrob Ryan Reynolds and equally heartthrobby Bradley Cooper are attached to star together in an untitled action comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter . The duo will star as a pair of San Francisco cops who are forced to work with their former-cop fathers on a case. THR reports that the comedy is “meant to have an updated ‘Lethal Weapon’ flavor that plays into edgier R-rated territory,” so expect profanity and lewd behavior to go along with the high body count. The script comes from “Up in the Air” scribe Sheldon Turner, who reportedly sold it for a seven-figure sum. The pitch was first developed by producers Neal Moritz and Andrew Panay five years ago with the title “Blowback”; back then, Dwayne Johnson was attached as one of the stars. Moritz and Panay are producing this second crack at the concept, as are J.C. Spink and Chris Bender of the production company Benderspink and Jonathon Komack Martin of Reynolds’ Dark Trick Films. No studio is set yet, but Moritz and Panay are set up at Sony. Reynolds has spent this summer shooting and promoting next summer’s “Green Lantern” adaptation. He’ll show up next month in Lionsgate’s indie thriller “Buried.” Reynolds is also supposed to be reprising his 2009 role as the joke-cracking mercenary Deadpool in a reboot of the character that Robert Rodriguez may direct. Cooper showed up earlier this summer as Faceman in “The A-Team.” He’s got a sequel to the smash 2009 comedy “The Hangover” lined up for a May release. He also recently finished shooting for Neil Burger’s sci-fi thriller “The Dark Fields” with Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish. What do you think of Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper being in a movie together? Let us know in the comments!
