De La Soul ‘s landmark 3 Feet High And Rising and Al Green ‘s soul classic Let’s Stay Together albums have been chosen for the Library Of Congress’ 2010 National Recording Registry. The albums were among 25 total recordings chosen. The recordings were chosen by Librarian of Congress James H. Billington with the help of the Library’s National Recording Preservation Board for their cultural, aesthetic, or historical impact. No matter how you slice it, it’s chunky and creamy smooth texture gives an outstanding performance all by itself. Before I studied at any culinary school, this recipe came all-too natural to me thanks to my father’s fiery Latin influence and my upbringing. My signature recipe is one of X-treme rock star quality. It’s one of my celebrity clientele’s favorite “skinny dips.” Add some house made tortilla chips to the bill and you have definitely got yourself a #1 hit. Rock-On!” Ingredients: 2 Large Haas Avocados, Cut and Seeded ½ Poblano Chile, Seeded, Stemmed and Finely Chopped 1 Serrano Chile, Seeded, Stemmed and Finely Chopped ½ Medium Red Onion, Finely Chopped 1 c Cilantro, Chopped ½ Lime, Fresh Squeezed 2 2 oz. Jars Pimento, Sliced (juice removed) ½ tsp. Granulated Garlic Sea Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper to taste Method: On a wooden cutting board slice the avocado length wise and open, remove the seed with a chef’s knife and scoop the green, creamy flesh into a large mixing bowl. Using a fork mash the avocado until it becomes a semi-chunky and creamy consistency. Add the poblano chile, serrano, onion and pimento, mix together with fork. Add the cilantro and lime juice. Sea salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly, cover with plastic wrap and chill for 20 minutes. To Make The Chips: Ingredients: Mini Corn Tortillas (approx. 1-2 dozen) 2 Tbl. Chile Powder 2 Tbl. Sea Salt ½ Lime, Fresh Corn Oil Method: Pre-heat the corn oil in a large cast iron kettle pot 3-5 inches deep. Bring the oil to about 380 degrees over medium-high heat. When the oil reaches the desired temperature begin adding the tortillas one by one, as to not over crowd the pot. Fry the tortilla wedges and toss frequently to brown evenly on both sides with a slotted spoon about 5 minutes. Remove the chips and drain on paper towels. Downey Danny McBride Photo: MTV News For all the nonsensical zaniness, toilet humor and general buffoonery audiences can expect when heading to see the Danny McBride/ James Franco buddy comedy “Your Highness” this weekend, it’s always nice to know that the stars and filmmakers involved have methods to their madness. When MTV News caught up with chief mischief-makers McBride and Franco while promoting their R-rated action comedy, we asked them to explain the film’s varying tones and cross-genre references. “It was important for us to skip the spoof aspect of this,” said McBride, who plays the bumbling slacker Thadeous. “That would be the easy way out, and to us, the challenge and what was interesting about the movie was making a legitimate fantasy action movie and then figuring out how to make it a comedy without blowing the fantasy out of the water and still keeping that.” Franco, who plays Thadeous’ more respectable brother Fabious, added that it wasn’t just about getting the tone right. “I think one of the things [director] David Gordon Green is a master at is mixing different elements on all levels,” he said. “You have a great comedic actor like Danny McBride and then you’ll have these well-respected British stage actors — Toby Jones and Charles Dance — and he’ll mix them all together in this world, [along with] incredible CG-created creatures and a puppet for a different creature,” he said. “So to mix all those different elements into one world is something I think David does that is very, very fresh.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Your Highness.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Now that Showtime ‘s finished off their Shameless season, Starz has stepped in to fill the voluptuous void left by Emmy Rossum with the new Holy Grail of TV nudity, Camelot.
