Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 1 Recap: Sunny Skies Ahead?

Derek Shepherd is dead. Yes, we already knew that. We’ve already watched multiple Grey’s Anatomy installments that were far less McDreamy than previous ones. Watch Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 1 Online But  Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 1 marked the official next phase of this ABC drama, as we jumped ahead three more months and, as Meredith said via voiceover, everything truly has “changed” now. Meredith now resides with Amelia, who was using a sledgehammer to renovate the home, and Maggie, a set up that is sure to lead to both laughter and awkwardness as the season plays out. At work, the central plot centered on two teenage lesbians who were hit by a train. They admitted to a suicide attempt because their parents were sending one half to the couple to a conversion camp. As you might expect, Callie could not hold her tongue upon learning this information, describing those camps as a form of “child abuse.” After our favorite orthopedic surgeon called Child Protective Services, the girl’s mother flipped out… causing Maggie to hit her in the face! Eventually, the girls’ fathers bonded, and Jessica’s dad found the guts to stand up to his wife. As for the Chief of Surgery battle: Joey Lauren Adams guest-starred as Tracy, Catherine’s hand-picked candidate. Catherine tried to argue for new blood in the hospital and even offered up some advice that helped save a patient. But Bailey just needed a pep talk from Ben to make a killer presentation to the board and… HAIL TO THE CHIEF we all wanted. Even Catherine in the end. View Slideshow: 18 SHOCKING Shondaland Moments Elsewhere, April returned, visiting a sleeping Jackson in an on-call room. She said she wanted to talk. Does she still have hopes for their union? In other developments: Arizona got rebuffed by Stephanie in her quest for a roommate, but Andrew (ostracized by fellow interns) accepted the challenge. Alex opened up to Jo about his past as a bullied child. Owen kissed Amelia. Maggie convinced Amelia and Meredith to work through their issues. So, there you have it. Grey’s Anatomy is back… and better than ever! Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Trailer: Everything Has Changed

Everything is about to change on  Grey's Anatomy Season 12 . Actually, correction: According to Meredith in the first promo for new fall episodes, everything has already changed. The 21-second teaser gives us a look at Meredith lying alone in bed (Rest in Peace, Derek Shepherd), along with some demolition work taking place in her house and some enthusiastic high-fives taking place at work. Oh, and someone gets punched in the face in the hospital. That also happens here Creator Shonda Rhimes has promised a “lighter tone” for the series this fall, though the question still remains: Will people tune in now that Patrick Dempsey is gone? Or will they continue to hold his character's death, and the way it was handled, against the long-running drama? Check out fresh footage now and tune in for Grey's Anatomy Season 12 Episode 1 on Thursday, September 24 at 8/7c.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 Episode 24 Recap: Dancing It Out

On Grey’s Anatomy Season 11, Callie and Arizona broke up. Jackson and April lost their baby. Oh, and Derek died. So clearly there were no bombshells left to be dropped on the season finale, right? HA! Clearly you don’t know anything about Shonda Rhimes… Watch Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 Episode 24 Online We picked up from the end of last week’s episode, as April has delivered a still-trapped Keith to the hospital. Inspired by the sight of his baby son, both he and the child’s mother pulled through in the end, thanks to Stephanie’s intervention. All of that crazy drama reminded April of the high she enjoyed while working overseas with Owen. She therefore admitted to Jackson that she felt as if she had been “called” and was anxious to take the next fight to Jordan. Jackson understood and respected the decision. He saw the spark in April, but he also said he doesn’t think he can be there for her when she returns. Elsewhere, Amelia actually made nice with Owen. They engaged in some playful banter, and it appeared as if Amelia was leaving room open to a reconciliation. But alas. View Slideshow: 18 SHOCKING Shondaland Moments Richard and Catherine weren’t doing much better, not after the former said she couldn’t name Bailey the new Chief of Surgery and the latter replied by calling her a “dictator.” Eventually, Meredith played the “my husband is dead card,” ordering everyone to get their acts together. This resulted in Richard and Catherine actually getting married, but not in any definitive answer in regard to Bailey’s professional future. In closing, Meredith gave Amelia her cell phone information so she could listen to Derek’s final message. It was all about ferry rides and how much he loves his wife. Maggie confessed to Meredith that her mom has been having an affair for over a decade and that her adoptive parents are at last splitting up. Jo decided that she wants to be with Alex… to the point that she found a home for them to buy so he could sell Meredith his place. And, at the finale’s conclusion, Mer and company danced it out, shaking off their tears. It’s pretty much like Derek never existed, huh? Go watch Grey’s Anatomy online to catch up on this season and sound off on this episode below.

Scandal Sneak Peek: A Final Goodbye?

Is Thursday night television about to deliver another heartbreaking goodbye? A couple weeks ago, it was McDreamy on  Grey’s Anatomy . This week, we don’t know how, but we do know that Nina Dobrev will exit The Vampire Diaries as Elena Gilbert. And now, courtesy of ABC, we have a sneak peek at Scandal Season 4 Episode 22 – and it doesn’t offer up much up regarding the future of Olivia and Fitz. Scandal Season Finale Clip – Saying Goodbye The scene depicts these star-crossed lovers on the phone, Liv delivering a note of congratulations to the President for passing his latest bill, wishing him luck on Mellie’s election… and then uttering the two words no Scandal viewer wants to hear: Goodbye, Fitz. No forever we can only hope. Nay, pray! The bulk of the Scandal season finale (titled “You Can’t Take Command”) will focus on Olivia and the Gladiators doing whatever it takes to bring down the former’s father. Will Rowan Pope finally see his time come? There’s a farewell we would not mind saying. Not one bit. Not at all. View Slideshow: Scandal Cast Through the Years

Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 Episode 22 Recap: One Year Later…

Well, that’s one way to handle the grieving process: Simply do not show the grieving process. Running two hours in length,  Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 Episode 22 divided the fan base of this ABC drama, as it didn’t really show anyone reacting to Derek’s stunning death last week. Watch Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 Episode 22 Online Instead, we watched Meredith tell her colleagues, faint, grab her kids, get out of Seattle… and then it was Easter, with April leaving for three months to join Owen in some war-torn country. And then it was Memorial Day, with Ben and Bailey fighting about whether the former would want to remain on life support. And then it was July 4, with April telling Jackson she’s gonna remain overseas for a bit and Catherine turning down Richard’s proposal. And then it was Halloween, with Stephanie asking Amelia to join a support group in order to process Derek’s death. And then it was Thanksgiving, with Alex able to get Meredith on the phone, albeit briefly. And then it was Christmas Eve, with Dan thanking Callie for helping hime ith the operation and viewers learning Meredith was PREGNANT! During the second hour, we settled in a full year after Derek’s death. April came home; Owen kept Amelia from taking many pills; and Meredith gave birth to a daughter named Ellis. (Seriously, go watch Grey’s Anatomy online . This ALL happened in one episode.) View Slideshow: 9 TV Shows That SHOULD Be Canceled As the unique installment came to an end, Richard accepted Catherine’s proposal of marriage and Merdeith returned home with Alex and the children. She even managed to share a smile with Maggie and Alex. At work, Mer put on Derek’s surgical cap and told Bailey that she was totally ready for this. “All I have to do,” she said in a voiceover, “is begin.” What did you think of how the series handled Derek’s death? Was it a cheap, lazy writing trick to just skip ahead an entire year? Or did the show have no choice because this death was simply too big of a deal?
