Courtney Love may sue over Kurt Cobain videogame

Courtney Love has said that she’ll sue gaming firm Activision for bringing her late husband Kurt Cobain back to life for the latest edition of the videogame Guitar Hero. She Tweeted a post: “For the record this Guitar Hero s**t is breach of contract on a Bullys (sic) part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction, the Sun reports. “We are going to sue the s**t out of Activision, we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises.” It was earlier reported that the late Nirvana frontman’s bandmates and widow had given a green light to creating a Cobain character for the game.

Activision: Courtney Love Signed Cobain Contract for Guitar Hero 5 UPDATE

In the wake of Courtney Love’s bombastic vitriol over the appearance of her late husband in Guitar Hero 5, Activision tells Kotaku that she was the one who signed the agreement for the deal. “Guitar Hero secured the necessary licensing rights from the Cobain estate in a written agreement signed by Courtney Love to use Kurt Cobain’s likeness as a fully playable character in Guitar Hero 5,” Activision told Kotaku today. Last night Love posted on her Twitter account that she and Cobain’s Estate were going to sue “the shit out of Activision”.

Kurt Cobain Doesn’t Do Bon Jovi

Courtney Love, who originally signed off to allow her late husband Kurt Cobain’s image to appear in Guitar Hero 5, has now threatened to sue Activision for allowing players to use the unlocked character to sing any songs in the game. Apparently, the hugest issue she has with all this is the fact that Kurt could possibly be forced to even sing BON JOVI songs. Courtney’s lawyer released a statement today saying, Activision is exploiting Kurt’s image in a manner anathema to the very essence of his music, spirit and essence
