Demi Lovato Says She’ll Hold Her Own On Tour With Jonas Brothers

‘I always hold my own, get it straight,’ the Disney star says of being the only girl on tour. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: Sam Hendrick/ MTV News It isn’t easy being the only girl surrounded by guys sometimes. That’s why when Demi Lovato hits the road with the Jonas Brothers this summer for their tour, she promises that she isn’t going to let anyone mess with her. “I always hold my own, get it straight!” she joked to MTV News on Tuesday, when she and the guys spoke about their summer tour, which kicks off in Dallas in June. “I’m just kidding! It’ll be fun. I’m excited. I’m representing. It’ll be fun.” The “Camp Rock 2” co-stars think the timing for this tour is perfect, because the fans have been waiting for it. “It’s been a minute since we’ve been on the road, and we’re really excited to get back out there and see our fans,” Kevin said. “We have new material as well. We have a lot of stuff from ‘Camp Jock,’ ‘JONAS,’ and it’s going to be a lot of good times.” Not only will the tour feature the JoBros and Lovato, but also some special surprise guests from the “Camp Rock” universe. “We’re working out all the details right now for the tour,” Nick said. “It’s gonna be a fun night of music. I think all of us are just anxious to get out there and play for our fans. That’s the most important part for us and bringing some friends from ‘Camp Rock,’ as well. And, obviously, having Demi will be great and we’re looking forward to it.” While there will be plenty of “Camp Rock” songs on the tour, the guys say fans should brace themselves for a full on JoBros tour. “It’s a Jonas Brothers tour, as usual. We just thought it’d be great to integrate [other] musical outlets as well,” Kevin added. “We thought it was a great way for our opening acts to have a place in the show as well. It’s gonna be fun, ’cause we know everybody. We’ve been doing a movie together for a while.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Jonas Brothers And Demi Lovato Related Artists Demi Lovato Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers’ ‘It’s On’ Video Gives Sneak Peek Of ‘Camp Rock 2’

JoBros’ new video was made just after they wrapped the Disney movie. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by James Lacsina Kevin and Joe Jonas Photo: MTV News Fans will get a glimpse into the world of “Camp Rock 2” on Friday night (May 14), when the Jonas Brothers release their new music video for the track, “It’s On,” off the TV-movie’s soundtrack. Shot just as the guys wrapped up work on “CR2,” which will premiere September 3 on Disney, the guys say that the video perfectly encapsulates the vibe of the sequel. “We shot [the video] back in September, October, and it was a great experience,” Joe Jonas told MTV News at the Young Hollywood Awards on Thursday night. “We were able to get back with the cast, and the video was really fun. Joe added that the video, which was directed by Brandon Dickerson, will give fans a taste of what they will see in the flick. “It has a lot of pieces to the puzzle to what people will see when the movie does come out,” he said. “I think it’s also a little something of what people are going to see when we go out on tour.” “The video is a really cool concept,” Kevin Jonas continued. “It takes on the aspect of the music and just the intensity, the high energy of what the song is. … What’s cool is just the passion of all the people who are singing.” Nick explained that it was a bit of a high-intensity shoot since they filmed “It’s On” at night. “It was good. It was a long night. We shot it overnight, ’cause we wrapped the movie with night shoots so from basically 10 [at night] to 10 in the morning every day [we shot the movie],” he said. “And after the movie wrapped, we shot the video, so we had to stay on that schedule. We stayed up all night and then [had] a flight on the next day. It was [an experience] we’ll never forget.” What’s your favorite Jonas Brothers video? Share your thoughts in the comments. Mayday Parade Push The Limits With NSFW ‘Kids In Love’ Video

While the clip is garnering a lot of attention, some of the Florida band’s fans were offended. By James Montgomery When Mayday Parade — a nice little pop/punk act from Tallahassee, Florida — decided to make a video for “Kids in Love,” the second single from their Anywhere But Here album, they wanted something that “pushed the boundaries.” But in their wildest dreams, they never thought they’d end up with something like this. Ever since its premiere earlier this month, the “Kids” clip — three-plus minutes of sex, drugs, violence, nudity and even more drugs — has been banned from YouTube, angered a portion of Mayday’s fanbase and somehow become a rather unexpected phenomenon. And it’s all the guys in the band can do to hold on while all of this unfurls around them. “When we first started thinking about the video, we knew what we didn’t want to do, because we’ve done the video where we’re just playing somewhere, and, to be honest, a lot of other bands have done that too,” frontman Derek Sanders told MTV News. “So when we were approached by [director Josh Mond] and saw the idea he had, we knew it was a risk, but we wanted to do it. And then, when we saw the first cut of the video, we were like, ‘Wow, that was extreme.’ ” Almost an updated take on Larry Clark’s 1995 film “Kids,” the video follows four, uh, kids on a rather debauched road trip, on which they drop acid in Las Vegas, drink a whole lot of alcohol, shed their clothing on the regular, smack each other around and engage in copious amounts of sex. To be honest, it’s sorta smutty, but — unlike Clark’s flick — it never really feels exploitive, managing instead to capture the invincible, unbridled energy of youth. Which was sort of what the guys in Mayday wanted in the first place. “The feel of it was exactly right, for me, because that song was written about the summer that I turned 17, when I was going down to St. Pete to see this girl down there, and doing all the stuff that kids do,” Sanders said. “I mean, it’s not as extreme as the stuff in the video, but it was definitely in that whole spirit of being young and invincible.” Try telling that to some of Mayday’s fans, who freaked out as soon as the video premiered, calling the video “embarrassing” and “pointlessly explicit” and claiming that, thanks to all the drugs and nudity, it had made them “lose respect” for the band. Sanders admitted that the reaction took him and his bandmates by surprise, but he realizes that it was the price they had to pay for pushing the envelope. “The negative reaction, it bothers me. I hate to see people say they’ve lost respect for us or that they’re no longer going to be fans of our band, but luckily, that’s just one extreme of all the feedback we got,” he said. “A lot of our fans also loved it. But I understand why some people were upset. We’re not saying the things in the video are good, not by any means. And I do agree I wouldn’t want my 13 year-old cousin to see it.” But at the moment, that’s probably not an issue, since Sanders’ 13-year-old cousin probably can’t even find the “Kids” video. After originally appearing on YouTube, it was eventually yanked off the site (hey, kind of like M.I.A.’s “Born Free” ). After some time in limbo (it’s not even on the band’s website ), it now exists on sites like Vimeo.com. Sanders said the plan is to re-edit the clip so it can actually be shown on places like MTV. And, to be honest, he admits things could have been a whole lot worse. They could’ve released the first version of the video. “We actually had them take out some things. There was, like, full nudity through the whole thing, so we had them take out a lot of that,” Sanders laughed. “I mean, it was almost too much even for me.” Did Mayday Parade go overboard with their video? The Other Guys Trailer: Cop Out, But with Jokes

Stop me if this seems familiar: There’s a new cop comedy coming out that pairs a loose-cannon SNL veteran with a growling, resentful partner in a semi-sendup of the 80’s buddy comedy genre. Here’s the difference, though, between Cop Out and Adam McKay’s new Will Ferrell/Mark Wahlberg starrer The Other Guys : I actually laughed at the Other Guys trailer.

Amanda Seyfried Was Weird In High School

Chloe star Amanda Seyfried says she was “weird” at school and nobody wanted to date her. Seyfried, 29, who is now dating her Mamma Mia co-star Dominic Cooper , admitted that she wasn’t popular with the guys during her high-school days. Asked if she was popular at school, she told UK’s Look magazine: “No, I was mates with the girls who were popular and we’re all still friends today. But I was actually pretty busy during high school – I was working in New York a lot – so I wasn’t popular. And no guys wanted to date me. I was weird!”

3Oh!3 Prepare Fans For Another Ke$ha Collaboration

‘First Kiss,’ the duo’s first song with ‘rad’ pal Ke$ha, will appear on their upcoming album. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias 3Oh!3 Photo: MTV News 3Oh!3 helped Ke$ha teach boys lessons on her hit “Blah Blah Blah.” And she’s returning the favor on the guys’ next album, Streets of Gold . “First Kiss” was recorded before Ke$ha stormed the charts with “Blah,” and it was actually the backdrop for the first meeting between the party-loving singer and the similarly celebration-happy duo. 3Oh!3’s Sean Foreman recalled how he and bandmate Nathaniel Motte were first introduced to the “Tik Tok” singer. “We were working with our buddy Benny Blanco and Dr. Luke [on ‘Kiss’], and we had a line for the song. It’s kind of a call and response, and Luke’s like, ‘I know this girl.’ We worked with her and we got a friendship since then,” he said. “She’s rad,” Motte added. “The success she had with ‘Tik Tok’ was amazing.” As of now this collaboration with Ke$ha is the only guest appearance on the album, which comes out in June. But the guys note that they’re open to inviting other artists into the studio. “It’s nice to work [with friends], like when we worked with Katy Perry [on ‘Starstrukk’],” said Foreman.
