The Hangover franchise is about to come to an end. Sad, I know. But then again, just wait two years and they’ll probably reboot it with Aziz Ansari and Jonah Hill. Or more likely, they’ll just come up with a way to make a fourth. Regardless, for now, it’s ending. So get into it. Check out four new posters for The Hangover Part III highlighting three of the members of the Wolfpack: Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, and Justin Bartha return to Vegas in the third film. John Goodman, Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor, and Melissa McCarthy also star. The Hangover Part III opens May 24.
The Hangover Part III Director Todd Phillips has said that the final installment of his trilogy will focus on Zach Galifianakis’ character, Alan . Who it won’t be about, apparently — at least in terms of screen time — is Justin Bartha’s character Doug . Here’s what the plot looks like based on the trailer: After the death of his father, Alan goes off the rails — and his meds — engaging in the kind of outlandish behavior that, actually, he engaged in when he was on his meds. But that’s not the point. The point is that the Wolfpack joins forces one more time to take their troubled pal to a place called New Horizons that will make him all better, and..hoo boy, cue trouble in the form of menacing dudes in cute pig masks and a scary gangster-looking guy played by John Goodman . Goodman, his character doesn’t have a name in IMDb’s credits, is looking for Mr. Chow ( Ken Jeong ) and kidnaps Doug as an incentive for Phil ( Bradley Cooper ), Stu ( Ed Helms ) and Alan to track him down. Since the focus will inevitably turn to the remaining trio’s attempts to track down Chow and save Doug, it looks like Bartha (in the foreground of the photo on the right) is going to sit out most of the movie yet again. (I wonder how he feels about that.) It also looks like there won’t be any moment where the Wolf Pack wakes up in a bizarre setting and must piece together how they got there. The use of that plot point in both the first Hangover and Part II is one of the things that had critics and moviegoers grousing about the by-the-numbers similarity of the first two movies. Not that it affected the box office: According to Box Office Mojo , The Hangover has grossed more than $467 million worldwide. Part II has Hoovered in more than $581 million. If Part III can maintain that momentum, the question of whether its plot is enough of a departure from the first two movies will be moot. Justin Bieber’s freeloading friend King Kevi is not hooking up with Selena Gomez, despite rumors that he’s tapping JB’s ex – rumors HE is behind. King Kevi, a leech who lives in Justin’s house and throws ragers with plenty of girls, weed and beer, has become semi-famous by association this year. One can understand, then, why photos of him leaving Selena Gomez’s San Fernando Valley estate over the weekend would spread like wildfire online: Media Takeout reported that he was inside her house and “hung out” with Selena, who has reportedly been tormenting Justin with mixed messages . Not the case. But HE STAGED THE PICS to make it look like it. Surveillance footage taken Saturday shows Kevi posing in front of Selena’s house while paparazzi spotted him and camera flashes went off. The images made for juicy gossip, but there were two issues: After the photographers left, so did he Selena wasn’t even home at the time Basically, this lowlife fronted like he was moving in on Bieber’s girl, when in reality he never made it past the gate. What are good friends for, right? Between Kevi and Lil Twist , JB may want to clean house. Guy’s entourage is almost worse than Lindsay Lohan’s at this point, which says something. At least his fake Twitter followers don’t pull this crap. Seriously Justin. Time to decide who’s really a friend and who’s just taking advantage of you.
Up until now, we haven’t known a whole lot about the plot of The Hangover Part III except that the Wolfpack returns to Vegas. The latest trailer, however, is by far the most plot-heavy look at the final installment of the comedy franchise. So if you like to know what a film is about before hitting the theater, watch below: The Hangover Part III Trailer So in addition to seeing Melissa McCarthy for the first time (woohoo!), what have we gathered about the plot? Well first, the gang isn’t returning to Vegas of their own volition, because that would be ridiculous. In fact, they should probably all just lock themselves in a small room. They’re actually taking Zach Galifianakis’ character Alan to rehab, when they’re intercepted by a John Goodman, who forces them to help him locate Chow (Ken Jeong). Enter Las Vegas. Looks like The Hangover Part III could actually be a decent cap to the franchise. What do you think? Catch the comedy in theaters May 24.
Todd Phillips likes his exotic animals. The Hangover had a tiger, the sequel featured a monkey, and, this teaser trailer for The Hangover Part III includes cameos by a giraffe (that appears to meet an untimely end) and some sort of bird of prey. There’s also a beefy dude in a pig mask chasing Zach Galifianakis . Does that count? If you prefer your comedy to be delivered by humans, check out the sexual tension scene involving Galifianakis, Melissa McCarthy and a lollipop— and Ed Helms throwing up in his mouth. Zach Galifianakis looks more like Hagrid than Harry Potter in this new poster for The Hangover Part III , but you’ve got to love the references to The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 . With Ken Jeong in the Valdemort slot, the image seems to bolster reports that this final film in Todd Phillip s comedy trilogy will depart from the formula that the first two films followed. (Probably a good thing since a lot of critics felt the sequel was a carbon copy of the original.) Back in December, Phillips gave Entertainment Weekly a hint of the plot saying that Galifianakis’ character, Alan, would be the focus of the third film.”He’s going through a crisis after the death of his father, [and] the Wolfpack is all he has.” Galifianakis also told Rolling Stone that his buds, presumably Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha, break him out of a mental institution. Although Las Vegas appears to be in flames at the bottom of the poster, Phillips has said that Sin City won’t be the only location visited by the Wolf Pack. The Hangover Part III opens on May 24. It’s raunchy. It’s Danish. It’s really, truly, hilariously inappropriate. And yes, it might be the funniest movie of the year. Get a peek at Klown , the comedy that promises to out-do The Hangover movies and all of Judd Apatow ‘s R-rated oeuvre this July, courtesy of Drafthouse Films, in Movieline’s exclusive poster debut. Klown is the tale of two bumbling friends (Frank Hvam and Casper Christensen) who embark on a road trip — Casper in search of extramarital flings, Frank in search of his paternal potential — with Frank’s girlfriend’s young nephew in tow. Think Curb Your Enthusiasm meets The Hangover and you’ve got the idea. Then take a leap beyond the boundaries of even the most vulgar jokes in Hollywood comedies and you’re even closer to what’s in store in Klown . Released in Denmark as Klovn: The Movie , Klown is based on the Danish sitcom of the same name, which ran for six seasons; after playing Fantastic Fest , Klown was picked up by the good folks at Drafthouse Films, who will release the film in New York, L.A., Austin, and on VOD on July 27. Meanwhile, Klown is set to get the remake treatment courtesy of Todd Phillips and Danny McBride , a fit that makes a lot of sense… and yet, McBride is always so McBride-y. Which might work out just fine, but trust me: See the original first. Camping trips and music festivals and babysitting will never be the same.
