It’s officially on for George Clooney and Stacy Keibler. Following rumors of their relationship, and a meal together Thursday night , the new couple made its public debut at the Toronto Film Festival yesterday, holding hands at the after-party for Clooney’s upcoming movie, The Ides of March . Asked on the red carpet of the premiere for the movie what she liked best about Clooney, Keibler responded: “Everything!” A source, meanwhile, tells Us Weekly the two were ” comfortable and affectionate and seemed socially poised as a couple. The two clearly work not only as a pair, but also independently. [Stacy] really stood on her own. George was not overprotective and didn’t have to look after her.” There’s only one thing this pairing needs now: a nickname. Vote on the catchiest now:
Amy Winehouse died trying to save her own life. That would be the argument of her father, Mitch Winehouse, who continues to make the case that withdrawal killed Amy , not a major drug overdose that many suspected for obvious reasons. The singer passed away in July at age 27. Why is Mitch so certain this happened? “Everything Amy did, she did to excess,” he says on Anderson Cooper’s new show Anderson , debuting tomorrow. “She drank to excess and did detox to excess.” It is true that no illegal drugs were found in his daughter’s system. However, Mitch believes his daughter likely suffered an overdose from a very powerful anti-anxiety drug and later suffered a fatal seizure during detox. According to the singer’s father, she was trying to get clean once and for all. Sadly, the rampant addictions she battled for years left her too weak. The final cause of death is still pending an official inquest. [Photo: Fame Pictures]
Lindsay Lohan recently paid tribute to fellow Long Islander Billy Joel … by having some lyrics from his 1989 song “I Go To Extremes” tattooed on her rib cage. The words “Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife, I feel like I’m in the prime of my life” have been affixed to the waifish body of America’s favorite train wreck. Seriously, this happened. Check out the photo of it here . While that song is pretty cool, it doesn’t hold a candle to some of Joel’s earlier work. Nor does Lindsay’s ink compare to LeAnn Rimes’ tattoo of her wedding vows. In any case, Lindsay Lohan felt the lyric was important as “It represented where she is in life and everything she’s been through … it signifies that she’s focused.” Try to at least be somewhat subtle as you stifle your laughter. Bad news for the 30-40 percent of THG readers who see Jersey Shore articles and leave comments to the effect of “GET THIS CRAP OFF THE AIR!!!” Not happening anytime soon. Based on preliminary Nielsen data, the Jersey Shore Season 4 premiere earned monster ratings last night – a 4.6 rating among adults ages 18-49 and a projected 9.7 million viewers overall – shattering last January’s then-record debut. Jersey Shore’s ratings are bigger than Vinny’s … fuhgedaboutit . Unfortunately for the naysayers, the absurd quotes , blowouts, genuineness and “yes, this happened factor” continue to power the show to huge success. Short story? These record ratings may not be the cast’s last. With a season being described as “the most insane yet” by producers, and a couple of surprising developments in the works already, we can’t wait.
These big banks are out of control with their disgusting practices. This guy is in the “sandbox” fighting a mindless war that cannot be won and if he’s fortunate enough to come home, he might not have one? In August, Tim Collette’s son Aaron will spend 15 days on leave from Iraq. Aaron is 20 years old, and he’s been in the Army for about a year and a half. A few weeks ago, his squad was hit with an improvised explosive device. Everybody survived, but it frightened both the soldier and his family. The Army told Aaron he could go anywhere he wanted. And of all the places in the world he could visit, Aaron wants to go home. But Aaron might not have a home to come home to. Collette has been defending his house from foreclosure since 2008. It’s currently scheduled to be auctioned off on June 20. “I just want him to come home and know he can be safe for 15 days,” Collette told HuffPost. “I don’t want him thinking about coming home and having it not be there.” Tim said negotiating with his bank, JPMorgan Chase, has been a living nightmare. When he first asked for help in 2008, he had not missed any payments. At the time, his mortgage was being handled by Washington Mutual, a subprime lending specialist Chase purchased in the fall of 2008. Collette said WaMu told him he would only qualify for a loan modification if he missed two of his $1,100 monthly mortgage payments. So he missed the payments. And the bank began trying to foreclose on him. “They told me that you can’t qualify for a loan modification without missing two payments, so I missed two payments, but I haven’t gotten the modification,” he said. The bank has repeatedly lost Collette’s mortgage paperwork and he receives different, often conclicting advice almost every time he communicates with Chase. After months of wrangling, the bank agreed to a “forbearance plan” that cut Tim’s payments from $1,100 to $600. In 2010, after making 13 months of payments, an unexpected bill arrived on Collette’s doorstep. Chase wanted the $500 a month differential back, plus penalty fees: $9,000 in total. Collette could afford to pay $1,100. But he didn’t have $9,000. After thinking he had arranged for at least temporary relief, Chase suddenly demanded that he pay up, or get out. JPMorgan Chase and its CEO, Jamie Dimon, have spent months apologizing for illegally foreclosing on the homes of active-duty military members currently fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Soldiers have an extra layer of legal protection in mortgage lending. Even if you miss payments, a bank cannot evict your family while you fight for your country. “He worries about it,” Collette said. “I don’t talk to him about it when we talk, but he knows what’s going on and he shouldn’t have to think about this when he’s trying to stay alive.” “A lot of us going through this foreclosure stuff now, we paid our bills,” he said. “We got into our homes because we worked for it, and when the economy goes down we just want a hand . . . We gave the banks a bailout and they just stuffed the money in their pockets.” They know a large percentage of those foreclosures are fraudulent anyway. SMH at these banks … Source
Bottom line… if you don’t like it now, you really won’t like it later! A couple years ago I dated a woman who was cute, smart, mature, wore dreadlocks like a pro and with whom I shared an overall life perspective. She was also good in bed and had lots of wifey potential…except she had a young daughter whose physical influence was evident all over her midsection. There was nothing I could do to prevent the squishy, stretch mark-laden mass from bothering me. I even asked my mother if I was being ridiculous: she informed me that if it bothers me now, it probably always would, which should be enough to move on. She was right…it was simply a non-negotiable. This happened a couple of times in my storied dating career: I dated women with many characteristics I desired, but when they were deficient in one or two significant physical or personality aspects, I made an effort but ultimately flew the coop. Initially I always felt like an a$$hole, but I ultimately realized that I should never sell myself short, especially in a city like Chicago teeming with single, cute, eligible honeys looking for a stone and someone to bring home for Easter Sunday.
