Jessica Simpson’s best friend and former assistant CaCee Cobb and Donald Faison, her husband, have welcomed their first child together. It’s a boy! The actor broke the news Friday on Twitter: “Yesterday @caceecobb and I welcomed the most amazing little boy into our lives! Oh Happy Day!!” CaCee Cobb, 35, shared the Tweet and added, “The happiest day of my life.” The couple, who has been together nearly seven years, wed December 2012. Donald Faison, 39, is also dad to four (!) other children: Son Kobe, 11, twins Dade and Kaya, 13, and son Sean, 16, from two previous relationships. Being a first-time mom can be tough going, but Cobb had/has the benefit of Jessica Simpson, now a mother of two, offering guidance along the way. “They hang out all the time anyway, but now they hang out and talk baby stuff, look at baby stuff online, and go shopping for baby stuff together,” Faison said. “Imagine, you and your best friend pregnant at the same time … CaCee’s loving it.” Congratulations to the happy couple and family!

A woman handing out pizza samples at a Costco in Sterling, Virginia was killed yesterday afternoon after waving a knife and scissors around and threatening employees. Police officers responded to calls of a disturbance at the store and arrived to find 38-year old Mhai Scott in a state of distress. They tried to use a stun gun to calm her down, but Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman told a NBC affiliate that it “did not work.” As a result, a deputy shot Scott and killed her. Another officer was wounded in the leg, though witnesses confirm only those in the sheriff’s department fired their weapons and he may have been hit by a ricochet. He is expected make a full recovery. The deceased worked for the company that does sampling at Costco stores. After being closed for the remainder of Wednesday, the location is up and running again today.

During McDonald’s annual shareholders meeting last week, CEO Don Thompson found himself forced to defend the company’s menu options. To a nine-year old girl. Asked why the global chain didn’t offer more healthy recipes and items, Thompson responded to the inquisitive young lady by saying the restaurant isn’t as bad for you as many seem to believe. “We don’t sell junk food,” Thompson said. “My kids also eat McDonald’s… We serve a lot of foods and veggies at McDonald’s and are trying to sell even more with the apples that we introduced into the Happy Meal.” During the same gathering, Thompson was asked by a doctor to stop marketing to children, which led to another defense from the CEO. “We provide high quality food. We always have; it’s real beef, it’s real chicken, it’s real tomatoes, real lettuce, real fruit, real smoothies, real dairy, real eggs, and we do it in a way that is also affordable,” he said.
