In an industry where success is often measured by a movie’s performance over a single (opening) weekend, the James Bond franchise is that rarest of things: a long-distance runner. At 23 movies — 22 if you don’t count the independently produced Never Say Never Again — and counting, Ian Fleming’s Agent 007 has managed to be mostly relevant at the box office for 50 years and, according to filmsite.org , while earning more than $1.5 billion. That’s third only to, respectively, the Harry Potter and Star Wars franchises. Even more so than Bob Dylan records (especially the recent ones), Bond movies are very much products of the times in which they are released. The campy 1980s sex-fluff of the Roger Moore 007 movies would probably not fare so well were they released in today’s economically fraught kill-or-be-killed world. Daniel Craig is the right Bond for this era, and, if you ask me, in a dead heat with Sean Connery for the best Bond of all time. But, actually, I more interested in your opinion. In commemoration of Tuesday’s release of Bond 50: The Complete 22 Film Collection, MGM’s Blu-Ray collection of the 22 Bond films that it recognizes, Movieline will be presenting a series of posts all week long that focus on the iconic super spy. To kick things off, we’re asking our readers to pick their favorite Bond movie. Our list numbers 23 because Never Say Never Again deserves to be included. Order up a martini (or, ahem, a Heineken ) and vote your choice. We’ll post the results mid-week and on Saturday. In fact, insiders say Harry wanted to publicly apologize for his Las Vegas hijinks but his father talked him out of it in a recent heart-to-heart. “Of all the royal family, Charles was the most accepting of Harry’s behavior,” a source revealed. “He accepts that boys will be boys at times.” “In his younger years he was just as much a playboy as Prince Harry is now, so he’s more understanding when it comes to this sort of thing.” “While he told Harry to be a little more responsible with his decisions, he didn’t chastise him because he didn’t think he did anything wrong.” Charles, the son of Queen Elizabeth II, also believes that the sooner 27-year-old Harry re-joins his military unit in Afghanistan, the better. “Charles said to Harry that he should go to Afghanistan as soon as he makes an appearance at the London Paralympics and join his rank.” “The quicker he goes out there, the sooner this will all blow over.” However, with the revelation of a Prince Harry nude video taken that night in the VIP suite at the Wynn Hotel, who knows if it will abate. The naked romp in Las Vegas was indeed caught on video, sources say, and that could plunge the royal scandal to new, unprecedented depths. “There is a video of Harry partying naked with women,” says a source. “There have been some very quiet inquiries to see how much the video is worth. “If the video goes public this could be the biggest Royal scandal ever.” Rumors surfaced in the Las Vegas Review Journal last week that the Prince Harry nude scandal was far from over and that another revelation was imminent. “The video has not been shopped around yet, its existence is being kept as discreet as possible,” the source close to the situation said. “With all the attention the photos got, people with the video know it could be worth a fortune.” “Things got pretty crazy in Prince Harry’s suite that night. Everyone was drinking, and drugs were also being used by some people.” “Some people were snorting cocaine.” That, of course, is a double-edged sword, as it could incriminate others: “Things got pretty crazy at that’s exactly why no one there has come forward on the record.” “They don’t want to be implicated for any illegal activities.”

Prince Harry is in the royal doghouse after naked photos of him partying leaked online, and no one is less pleased than his big brother Prince William. If you missed them, pictures of Prince Harry naked and playing strip billiards with some girls in Vegas hit the web last night … to his family’s chagrin. “William was told about the photos this morning,” a royal insider said of Kate Middleton ‘s husband and the heir to the throne. “He’s not impressed.” What happened in Vegas definitely didn’t stay there for Harry. No word on how other members of the royal family – namely his father Prince Charles or grandmother Queen Elizabeth II – have reacted to the scandal. Professionally as well as personally, Prince Harry, a military helicopter pilot on leave during the wild Sin City weekend, has some explaining to do. “He will be reprimanded [by the army]. Officers should never bring the Service into disrepute, whether on or off duty,” a senior military source says. “This display of social misbehavior has raised eyebrows.” Harry, who spent much of last fall in Arizona and California during an intensive training period, “likely won’t be dismissed” from the army, however. “This type of behavior is not expected of someone his age and rank. They will call him in when he gets back and want to talk to him about it.” While he certainly didn’t make his family proud and probably should know better, Harry also should be given some slack here, don’t you think? They sing together, they dance together and they laugh together. But Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles want to make one thing clear: they are not… together ! With numerous blogs and YouTube videos dedicated to “Larry Stylinson,” Louis and Harry spoke to Storyboard this week and made a point of shooting down talk they are actually a couple. “This is a subject that was funny at first but now is actually hard to deal with in a relationship,” says Tomlinson , who is dating 20-year-old model Eleanor Calder. “Me and Harry are best friends, people look into our every move – it is actually affecting the way me and Harry are in public. We want to joke around, but there seems to be a different rumor every time we do anything. I act the same way with Harry as I do [with] any of the other boys and my childhood friend Stan.” Fair enough. Such honesty, we suppose, is what makes Tomlinson beautiful. Almost a year to the date of her acquittal, Casey Anthony is living life in seclusion, rarely venturing out for fear she’ll be recognized, and wearing the ashes of the daughter most people believe she brutally murdered around her neck. Her mother Cindy made her a special necklace with them. “Casey told me it was the way the Anthony women would be together forever,” a friend says, noting that Cindy Anthony wears them as well. Since walking out of jail a free woman on July 17, 2011, Casey, who must remain in Florida due to probation, has moved around the state. Now settling in the West Palm Beach area and spending most of her days online, Anthony has put on about 20 pounds, according to the friend. In an interview with Piers Morgan in June, Anthony maintained that she did not kill Caylee Anthony , and that she’s often been misunderstood. One person who isn’t buying it: Prosecutor Jeff Ashton. “I’m not going to get all weepy at the thought of Casey not being able to go out partying,” he says. “She brought it all upon herself, and now she has to live with it – which is incidentally a luxury that Caylee will never get.” On a related note, even Jose Baez thinks she’s crazy .
