Justin Bieber Hangs Up on Interviewer Over Justin Timberlake Comparisons, Harry Styles Questions

Justin Bieber did not take too kindly to questions on the “Mojo in the Morning” radio show recently, quickly becoming agitated and ultimately hanging up. Comparisons to Justin Timberlake were the main catalyst, with references to Bieber’s mom and One Direction’s Harry Styles the apparent final straw. “I hope you take this as a compliment,” stated Mojo. “When I heard ‘Boyfriend’ for the very first time. I thought it was Justin Timberlake’s single.” Justin Bieber Hangs Up on Mojo in the Morning Justin Bieber was far from flattered. “Man, that’s crazy because our voices sound nothing alike,” he said. “I mean, I’m not trying to sound like anyone.” “Saying I sound like someone else is not really a compliment. … if you were to say ‘I heard some Justin Timberlake-esque things,’ I would take that as a compliment.” That minor stiff was nothing compared to the reaction he had when Mojo decided to bring up Bieber’s mother and One Direction singer Harry Styles. After the radio host joked that Styles might end up seducing his mother, given his penchant for older women, Bieber went on the offensive. “I don’t think you should worry about me [and my mom with Harry Styles],” the 18-year-old sensation said. “Worry about your mom, bro.” Mojo then noted that his mom had passed away, right before Bieber peaced out. Awkward. What do you think of Bieber’s reaction in hanging up?

Stephanie Rice, Olympic Swimmer, Upsets Fans with Bikini-Based Twit Pic

A month before making literal waves in a London swimming pool at the 2012 Olympics, Australian Stephanie Rice is making figurative ones for a photo she recently posted on Twitter. The three-time gold medalist snapped a shot of herself in a bikini this week, showing off both her body and a birthday gift from designer Ellie Gonsalves. Simple and harmless, right? Not to some of Rice’s followers. “i feel that stephanie rice posting a photo of herself in swimwear has brought disgrace to the australian swim team and she should be dropped,” wrote one Twitter user, presumably taking issue with Rice for… okay, we have no idea. Showing more skin here than she does while donning official Olympic attire? The nerve! Rice is no stranger to somewhat racy Twitter photos, as evidenced by this picture of herself as a police officer . She was also once rumored to be dating Michael Phelps , which would be less scandalous than perfectly understandable from both points of view. So, in conclusion: Team Stephanie Rice in a Bikini!

Ali Fedotowsky to Emily Maynard: Sean Lowe FTW!

Ali Fedotowsky, who starred on The Bachelorette two summers ago, recently offered her views on who Emily Maynard should pick and as her lifelong mate. “Okay, I keep going back and forth. Like, literally, I’ve changed my mind 500 times,” Ali said of Emily’s remaining aspiring husbands, of whom four remain. While Ali first thought it was either Jef Holm or Arie Luyendyk, Jr., she now says she’s ruled out Arie and doesn’t think Jef is ready to be Ricki’s stepfather. She likens Emily and Jef to herself and Chris Lambton, the runner-up to Roberto Martinez (who she broke up with after an 18 month-engagement) in 2010. “This is a confusing season! She keeps saying that her relationship with Jef is slow to develop – that’s what I always used to say about Chris,” says Ali . “I mean, Chris is a great guy, such an awesome guy. But that’s like code on The Bachelorette for ‘we’re really just not romantically into each other.’” Which brings her to the pick: “If I had to guess right now, I’m going back to Sean Lowe ,” the insurance salesman from Texas who moonlights as a male model, she finally answered. The Bachelorette spoilers offer some hints as to who makes it past the hometown dates, but as far as her final rose recipient, all bets are still off! Whom do you think Emily should end up with?

Nora Ephron Remembered By Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman

‘At a dinner table and on a film set she lifted us all with wisdom and wit,’ Hanks says of late filmmaker. By Jocelyn Vena Nora Ephron Photo: Nora Ephron ‘s impact on the world of film — particularly romantic comedies, thanks to her memorable scripts for big-screen classics “When Harry Met Sally …” and “Sleepless in Seattle” — was felt in the wake of the news that the screenwriter, journalist and director passed away on Tuesday at the age of 71 from pneumonia. Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, who both appeared in “Sleepless in Seattle” (Hanks also later appeared in Ephron’s “You’ve Got Mail”), recalled the times they spent with her when the cameras weren’t rolling. “Nora Ephron was a journalist/artist who knew what was important to know; how things really worked, what was worthwhile, who was fascinating and why,” Hanks and Wilson said in a statement to E! News . “At a dinner table and on a film set she lifted us all with wisdom and wit, mixed with love for us and love for life. Rita and I are so very sad to lose our friend who brought so much joy to all who were lucky enough to know her.” Comedian and 2012 Academy Awards host Billy Crystal recalled the joy of appearing in “When Harry Met Sally …” in his remembrance of the multi-hyphenate talent. “I am very sad to learn of Nora’s passing,” he said in a statement. “She was a brilliant writer and humorist. Being her Harry to Meg’s Sally will always have a special place in my heart. I was very lucky to get to say her words.” Carrie Fisher, who appeared alongside Crystal in the iconic film, said in a statement to the Boston Globe , “In a world where we’re told that you can’t have it all, Nora consistently proved that adage wrong. A writer, director, wife, mother, chef, wit — there didn’t seem to be anything she couldn’t do. And not just do it, but excel at it, revolutionize it, set the bar for every other screenwriter, novelist, director. She was inspiring, intimidating and insightful. She was so, so alive. It makes no sense to me that she isn’t anymore. My heart goes out to her family and the many others who treasured her.” The outpouring of love for Ephron hardly ended there. Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep , who starred in two Ephron classics, “Heartburn” and 2009’s “Julie & Julia,” noted that her interests and intellect touched on all subject matters. “Nora just looked at every situation and cocked her head and thought, ‘Hmmmm, how can I make this more fun?’ ” Streep said. “You could call on her for anything: doctors, restaurants, recipes, speeches or just a few jokes, and we all did it, constantly. She was an expert in all the departments of living well.” Nicole Kidman, who starred in Ephron’s quirky big-screen take on the classic 1960s sitcom “Bewitched,” noted that it was a “joy to be around” the writer. “She was so smart, warm and funny. I am so grateful that she was my friend and we had the opportunity to work together. My thoughts and love are with her family at this time. I will never forget the dinners, games and laughter we all shared,” Kidman said. Goldman Sachs Loses $2 Billi!!! Stock Tanks Following Exec’s NY Times Op-Ed Resignation Claiming Bosses Referred To Clients As “MUPPETS”

Karma is indeed a beyotch. Some public breakups go better than others, but the resignation of one exec from Goldman Sachs has turned into a very costly kiss-off for the company. Goldman Sachs lost more than $2 billion after “low drama” exec Greg Smith thrust himself into the global spotlight Wednesday with a very public resignation letter that scathingly denounced his employer. In the trading hours after the op-ed began circulating, the firm’s shares dropped 3.4 percent, the third-biggest decline in the S&P, Bloomberg reports. Smith’s take-that-(high-paid)-job-and-shove-it missive – published as an Op-Ed piece in The New York Times – blasted what he termed Goldman’s “toxic and destructive culture.” The executive director said the storied investment bank is indifferent to the interests of clients, who high-level bosses referred to as “muppets.” He said he attended meetings where the topic of how to help clients never came up. “It’s purely about how we can make the most possible money off of them. If you were an alien from Mars and sat in on one of those meetings, you would believe that a client’s success or progress was not part of the thought process at all,” Smith, 33, wrote in his caustic goodbye note, titled “Why I Am Leaving Goldman Sachs.” He said that in the last year, “I have seen five different managing directors refer to their own clients as ‘muppets.’” He added: “Today, if you make enough money for the firm (and are not currently an ax murderer) you will be promoted into a position of influence.” Smith, who had worked at Goldman for nearly 12 years and said his clients had a trillion dollars in assets, wrote: “I knew it was time to leave when I realized I could no longer look students in the eye and tell them what a great place this was to work. “I truly believe that this decline in the firm’s moral fiber represents the single most serious threat to its long-term survival.” The no-holds-barred missive was quickly trending on Twitter and triggered an uproar in financial circles. Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein and President Gary Cohn responded in a plainly worded internal memo. “We were disappointed to read the assertions made by this individual that do not reflect our values, our culture and how the vast majority of people at Goldman Sachs think about the firm and the work it does on behalf of our clients,” the memo read. The Op-Ed stunned those close to Smith, who described the ex-Goldman vice president as an unassuming political junkie. “Doing something as publicly as this is quite a surprise,” said a source who knows Smith. “He’s a low-drama type person.” Smith, a Ping-Pong whiz from South Africa, is single. He interned for Goldman at Stanford University, then scored a full-time position with the firm in 2001. As he climbed the ranks at the investment bank, Smith, whose dad worked as a pharmacist, lived a lifestyle true to his roots, a source said. He rented an apartment and never bought a car. In 2010, he moved to London to work as the head of the firm’s U.S. equity derivatives business in Europe. “He doesn’t fit the stereotype of a Wall Street type,” said a person close to Smith. “He was more concerned with having enough money for people in his life who were important to him than spending it on luxury items.” Experts estimated that Smith, a mid-level executive, probably was paid modestly by banking standards – less than $750,000 a year. Wow, this is legendary stuff. And to think, he said all that and he wasn’t even Goldman “sacked.” Source More On Bossip! The Harry Potter Chocolate War

“Over the past several days Warner Bros.’ California headquarters has received nearly 400 individual sheets of paper adding up to the more than 16,000 signatures the Harry Potter Alliance (HPA) collected in 2010 and 2011 to make all Harry Potter chocolate Fair Trade. The pages were sent by more than 200 members of the HPA from across the country, as a part of the ‘ Not in Harry’s Name Campaign ,’ to show WB how important Fair Trade chocolate is to fans of the Harry Potter series.” From the ” Muggle Howlers ” to the Fair Trade chocolate frogs , it gets better.
