160 Killed in Passenger Plane Crashes in Southern India

Government Minister says that at least 160 people were killed when a state-run Air India Express aircraft, with 168 people on board, overshot a runway during landing and crashed near Mangalore airport in the southern Indian state of Karnataka early Saturday morning. According told to the media by V.S. Acharya, home minister of southern Indian state of Karnataka, “The crash happened while landing and the aircraft immediately caught fire. At least 160 passengers have died in the crash.” It was confirmed Anup Srivastava, Director of Air India that there were 160 passengers and six crew members on the plane. Indian authorities said that there are about 160 people were killed and six survived in the crash. The Russian pilot of the doomed Air India Boeing jet tried to abort landing when the plane overshot runway and crashed Saturday in Mangalore in southern India according to the Air India official. Official added that the probe team is being dispatched to Mangalore from Mumbai to seek more details of the crash. The passenger plane crash happened at around 06:30 a.m. when the Air India Express, a budget airliner of the state-run carrier, carrying 168 people, including six crew members, from Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, attempted to land at Mangalore airport but overshot the runway and broke into pieces, causing a huge fire. Elizabeth Smart’s Mother Faced Kidnapper

Now a Mormon misionary in France, Elizabeth Smart is an American woman who survived a nine-month kidnapping and is now a political activist. More than seven years after the abduction of Smart, one of her abductors was sentenced last Friday to 15 years imprisonment by a federal judge. Wanda Barzee apologized to Elizabeth’s family during the sentencing hearing in Salt Lake City. Barzee pleaded guilty in helping Brian David Mitchell kidnap Smart, then 14, from her Salt Lake City home in 2002. “I know the gravity of my crimes and how serious they are,” said Barzee, 64. “I’m just so sorry again for all the pain and suffering I caused upon the Smart family.” Previously, Smart’s mom Lois had scolded Barzee, telling her, “What you did to Elizabeth and our family was wrong and evil.” “You hurt our family in ways you’ll never know,” Lois Smart said. “It was unconscionable what you did to [Elizabeth]. I hope you will be able to make peace with your maker.” U.S. District Judge Dale Kimball gave Barzee seven years of credit for time she has already served and ordered her to spend the rest of her term at a medical and psychiatric center for female federal prisoners in Texas. In exchange for the sentence, Barzee agreed to testify against Mitchell, whose trial is slated to begin this November. Mitchell, 56, is accused of abducting Smart at knifepoint from her bed and forcing her to become his plural wife. Smart was held for nine months by Mitchell and Barzee in the Salt Lake City foothills and San Diego area before their arrest in 2003 when they were spotted walking with Smart in a Salt Lake City suburb. She used to fit voluminously at size 16, American recording artist, actress and spokesperson Jennifer Hudson is enjoying her new body size of 6. Hudson told PEOPLE, “I’m in the best shape of my life!” Last August, Hudson gave birth to a cute baby boy.  Hudson has shed off the post-pregnancy pounds for her next movie role as Winnie Mandela. “Whatever it takes to morph into a character I’ll do it,” she says. It is not just a simple Doodle but a first ever interactive one. The Doodle is a real Pac Man game. Google is not celebrating Pac Man’s 30th Anniversary. 30 years of providing happiness to every gamer. Though the game doesn’t possess colorful charms and high tech weapons but the excitement every time the monsters would chase you is truly amazing. The game was developed by Namco and licensed for distribution in the U.S. by Midway. It was first released in Japan way back May 22, 1980. It is one of the longest running video game franchises from the golden age of video arcade games, and one of only three video games that are on display at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. Simon Cowell Says He’s Bored in American Idol

Famous for his blatant comments and criticisms, Simon Cowell speaks his mind why he is s leaving American Idol. Simon, an British music executive, television producer and entrepreneur, said he was bored in Idol. During an interview with Oprah Winfrey’s Show last Thursday, he candidly expressed his feelings. “After awhile, you start to go on automatic pilot,” blunt Idol Judge  told Winfrey. “And there were too many times, Oprah, where I was sitting there bored, and I thought, ‘[At] the end of the day, the audience doesn’t tune in to watch me being bored. They deserve more than that. But I can’t hide it when I’m bored. I just can’t fake it.’ “ Cowell also said the pressure of the show has taken a toll on him. “Maybe it’s the draining effect when you have a lot of people who depend on you … And you just become aware that a lot of people depend on you, rely on you, or you’re not giving people the time you should be giving them,” he said. “It’s almost like a guilt thing. And that does drain me.” Cowell will be working on another singing reality show ‘X Factor’. “It’s different because there’s no upper age limit … Singing groups can enter the show,” he said. “I have no idea whether it’s going to work or not, but I’ll put its success and failure on whether we can find a star.” Despite his boredom with Idol, Cowell told Winfrey he hasn’t lost the desire to be part of the reality show action. “I actually like doing it, funny enough,” he said. “I like the buzz it creates. Jonas Brothers Trapped inside an Elevator

Last Sunday at The Groove in Hollywood, after the Jonas Brothers treated thousands of their fans to a free outdoor concert, the trio planned to make a rush retreat. But unluckily, they found themselves trapped in an elevator for about 45 minutes. Joe Jonas says that they were stuck in an elevator together with eight people and Big Rob. It was a 21-person elevator. Among the trio, Jonas and Nick were the first to panic. To wrap it all, the entire experience was captured on film. They had their photographer Rob Hoffman with them and he had his video camera so he taped the whole thing. It ended wit the fire department coming through with axes. Yao Ming’s agency told that the wife of Chinese basketball star Yao Ming gave birth to a daughter Friday afternoon at a hospital in Houston, the United States. Yao Ming has been on the side of the game court for about a year due to a foot injury, he is very thankful to everyone who cares about his wife, Ye Li, and his daughter during the past several months. He hopes that the media do not throw the spotlight on his family so that his daughter could grow up like other babies of ordinary families. Last January, it was reported about prediction over future height of “Baby Yao”, the height and gender in the hopes that the child will someday lead the national basketball team as shows in image above.
