Caitlyn Jenner Reveals That She Chopped Off “Lil Bruce” To Complete Her Transition To Womanhood

Caitlyn Jenner Reveals That Her Transition Is Complete Caitlyn Jenner is a full-on trans-woman , and she’s letting you know exactly what she’s got going on under those sensible dresses. Radar Online got their hands on an early copy of Caitlyn’s upcoming memoir, The Secrets of My Life ,and in it, she reveals once and for all that she indeed got rid of…um…the last bit of Bruce that was holding her back from womanhood. “I am telling you because I believe in candor…So all of you can stop staring. You want to know, so now you know. Which is why this is the first time, and the last time, I will ever speak of it. The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful but liberated.” Well, go ahead then, Cait . It’s somewhat interesting that she chose to go through with the “BIG” surgery, seeing as how it’s known to be a pretty tricky healing process and she’s nearly 70 years old as it is. Jenner actually acknowledged that getting the official lady bits handled was a “complex decision,” particularly due to the health risks involved with it. But we’re not doctors over here, so if that’s what she needs to finish the Bruce chapter of her life, then good for her, we guess. Splash/WENN/AKM-GSI

Amber Portwood: Struggling with Weight Gain and Mental Illness

Sometimes it seems like Amber Portwood just can’t catch a break. Between her issues with addiction, the hard reality that comes with being a teen mom (and a Teen Mom), and, you know, Matt Baier , things have always looked kind of rough for her. To add onto her pile of hardships, she’s also got a number of mental illnesses: she’s been open about her anxiety and her bipolar disorder, and more recently she’s been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder . It’s a lot to deal with, and as Amber reveals in a new interview with Women’s Health, she doesn’t deal with it all that well at times. She says that she spent a good part of 2015 losing weight that she’d steadily gained after getting sober, and she got down to 130 pounds, which was a good weight for her. But then, in 2016, she found herself profoundly depressed. So much so that Matt had to drag her out of bed. She went to see a psychiatrist, which is when she received the borderline personality diagnosis. “When I got the diagnosis,” she says, “I wanted to keep it a secret.” “While everyone knew about my other diagnoses — I’ve had anxiety since I was a kid, for as long as I can remember — I guess it was tragic to think I had another mental disorder.” For a while, Matt was the only person who knew, and he actually accompanied her to one of her appointments so her doctor could talk to him. When Amber was told that she’d most likely be on medications to deal with her mental disorders for the rest of her life, she broke down, but she says Matt was there to hold her hand. Matt Baier, doing something sweet and not completely creepy ? The mind boggles. Amber was put on some new medications, including a mood stabilizer. She says she’s happy with what she’s on because she feels “amazing and normal” now, and her meds aren’t ones she can get addicted to. But when she started the meds, she got “cravings like crazy,” and she also got “very tired.” And neither of those things are good for weight loss. In that time, she gained back all the weight she’d worked so hard to lose months before. She tried a no-carb, no-sugar diet — the diet that helped her lose the weight in the first place — but it didn’t work for her. As of now, she’s lost 10 pounds, and though there’s “extra pressure” to lose more weight for her wedding in October (gag), “I’m using that as motivation.” The whole point of sharing her story, she says, is because so many medications for mental illnesses cause weight gain. “For women who are suffering from mental health issues, I want them to know that other people are going through the same thing,” she explains. “And you don’t have to do this alone.” You’re a gem, Amber. You really are. Now drop Matt Baier and own it.

Amy Krouse Rosenthal, Beloved Children’s Book Author, Dies

Amy Krouse Rosenthal, a popular’s children’s book author whose recent New York Times essay about her husband went viral, died Monday morning from ovarian cancer. She was 51 years old. Rosenthal’s passing was confirmed by her longtime literary agent and friend, Amy Rennert, who told The Associated press of Amy: “Everything Amy did was life and love affirming. “She was such a bright light with a great sense of wonder. Amy loved her family. She loved words, ideas, connections.” Earlier this month, Rosenthal (who was diagnosed with the disease that would take her life in 2015) made headlines for encouraging other women to date her husband, Jason, after she passed away. We’re serious. She penned a beautiful, emotional story for The New York Times’ “Modern Love” column titled ” You May Want to Marry My Husband .” In the piece, Rosenthal created a poignant “dating profile” for her husband, whom she said she fell in love with in “one day.” The author felt so strongly about Jason that she wanted to share him with others; both in her essay and, in theory, with another woman some day down the line. “He is a sharp dresser. Our young adult sons, Justin and Miles, often borrow his clothes,” Amy wrote in one section of the article. “Those who know him – or just happen to glance down at the gap between his dress slacks and dress shoes – know that he has a flair for fabulous socks. He is fit and enjoys keeping in shape.” Rosenthal made millions of people tear up by outlining various specific details about her husband, going on about all the ways he’s made her happy over the years. And admitting that she knows she doesn’t have much time left with him or with her three kids, Paris, Justin and Miles. “I want more time with Jason. I want more time with my children. I want more time sipping martinis at the Green Mill Jazz Club on Thursday nights,” she wrote, adding: “But that is not going to happen. I probably have only a few days left being a person on this planet.” WMAQ-TV reported on Monday that Rosenthal was in hospice. Last month, she wrote about her health on Instagram, making it clear in her final post that things were taking a downward turn. “This cancer – oh, did I mention I have cancer? – has increasingly (and rudely) robbed me of my normal energy and focus,” she wrote on February 1, explaining that she had to stop her latest project because of her condition. “There are other things I need to be tending to, creating, and focusing on with my limited time.” In the essay that went viral, Amy called Jason “an easy man to fall in love with.” She described him as an “absolutely wonderful father” to their three children and she added: “Did I mention that he is incredibly handsome? I’m going to miss looking at that face of his.” Jason and Amy were married for 26 years. “I didn’t know exactly what she was composing,” Jason said in a statement released regarding The New York Times article. “But I was with her as she labored through this process and I can tell you that writing the story was no easy task. “When I read her words for the first time, I was shocked at the beauty, slightly surprised at the incredible prose given her condition and, of course, emotionally ripped apart. ” In a nod to his late wife and the marriage they shared, Jason concluded: “I don’t have the same aptitude for the written word. But if I did, I can assure you that my tale would be about the most epic love story… ours.” View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2017: In Memoriam Amazing, heartwrenching stuff all around. Jill Smokler, Scary Mommy Blogger, Announces Divorce; Gay Husband

Jill Smokler is best known for writing about her children. But the blogger behind wildly popular website Scary Mommy made news over the weekend for a heartfelt message she shared with readers about her marriage. Specifically, about the surprising reason why her marriage is coming to an end. Via an emotional post on Facebook, Smokler said on Satuday her husband is gay. The soon-to-be former couple has three kids and has been involved romantically for over two decades. “Yesterday, Jeff and I told our children that we are divorcing, after more than 17 years of marriage and 23 years of togetherness,” Smokler wrote. “We also told them that the impetus for the divorce is the fact that Jeff is gay. “Without getting into too much personal detail, this is a reality which we have faced together for many years.” She added: “For a very long time, the deep love we had for one another sustained us through the more difficult moments that our increasingly diverging sexuality created. “We have spent more than half of our lives inseparable, and we are very proud of the life and family we have built together. We have been true partners and friends; we are a kickass team. “And while we will no longer love each other as husband and as wife, we remain deeply committed to one another as partners and co-parents to the three most incredible kids we could ask for. “It’s our greatest hope that this experience translates into raising empathetic, caring and open-minded children who learn to embrace their differences… and respect and appreciate that which makes others different, too.” Jeff, meanwhile, went ahead and shared his side of this story on Scary Mommy. Explaining that he knew he was gay for about the last “four or five years,” he wrote the following: “I always knew I was different, but when you meet your soulmate when you’re 18 years old – only five years older than my own daughter is now – and that person is a woman, you simply think ‘thank God then, I can’t be gay.” Jeff and Jill are parents to a nine-year old, an 11-year old and a 13-year old. “One thing I’ll say about my own journey is this: What should have been an easy choice — a no brainer — was the hardest decision I’ve ever made,” Jeff also wrote . “Once I came to terms with the fact that I was gay, I figured I had two options: I could die — either from my intentional neglect of my health and well-being, or perhaps from something even more tragic — leaving my children fatherless, or I could come out and hope that I remained surrounded by the love of my friends, family, wife and children.” During an interview with the Today show on Friday, Jill talked about breaking the news to the kids. She said her and Jeff’s 13-year-old daughter reacted with sympathy and even offered to hug her father, while their boys had more trouble with the announcement. Jill said they have “weepy moments” but have still been “incredibly mature” given the situation. “I have had probably 70 people message me or email me privately who are in the same situation,” she said on Today, adding: “This has been really good for me. For as many nasty comments as we get on the internet, every time I have put something out there that has made me feel super vulnerable or that was painfully honest, the response has always been amazing.” Scary Mommy has over 2.8 million Likes on Facebook. It is a go-to website for parenting tales and advice. Added Jeff in his Scary Mommy entry, focusing on what’s most important: Our children are amazing. They are all digesting the information in their own ways, but, boy, are they all also showing their true colors. Brush away all of the worst characteristics and idiosyncrasies one would expect from kids their ages, and we’re left with compassionate, thoughtful, wonderful children.

Putting together will be the first big stress he’s had and she ain’t tryna deal with that s#!t again according to PEOPLE . “They spent the weekend apart so Kanye could focus on the show,” the insider says. “There is definitely some concern that the show will be too much stress for him. Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard: Slammed By Fans For Putting Israel, Unborn Child in Danger!

Pregnant Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard recently announced that they are returning to Central America for missionary work. For a whole host of reasons, fans are worried about this. While Jill Duggar’s return to Central America is part of her ongoing mission to serve God and the less fortunate, plenty of critics are wondering: Is she putting her unborn child’s life in danger for it?! Derick and Jill are already the parents of one child, Israel, who turns two in April, and his baby brother is scheduled to arrive this summer. The Duggars’ propensity for procreating hard was a topic of concern for many fans throughout her time in Zika virus-stricken El Salvador. Jill wasn’t even pregnant then, but the mere fact that she could be – the Duggars obviously don’t use birth control – made this an issue. Now she is pregnant, though, and headed back. The duo returned from El Salvador in August after a year, and earlier this year, we learned Jill and Derick are having a second son . That made her decision a bit puzzling to many. “We are planning to go back very soon,” Jill Duggar, who is due in July, said, adding that “we will come back for the birth of the baby.” Quickly, many  fans bashed the reality stars for putting their little boy and their future son in danger, however noble the couple’s intentions. One follower asked: “What is wrong with Jill?” “She nearly died in childbirth last time,” noted another. “I know that we are to trust the Lord but He gave us a brain with common sense.” Valid points and questions, both. Another fan asked: “What about the Zika virus? Why would they bother returning for just a couple of months, especially with Jill pregnant?” The risk of Zika, lack of adequate prenatal care (especially with a high-risk VBAC delivery), and even flying in her third trimester are concerns. “Why don’t they just wait another 6 months for the baby to be born and Jill to have time to recover after the delivery?” said yet another fan. “Jill and Derick think about your children’s safety first!” “And Derick is sick without a diagnosis… I feel he should get that under control before he returns to a country without good health care.” Derick Dillard’s health problems are widely documented at this point, and could further complicate the situation if he’s not in top condition. Last year, El Salvador advised women there not get pregnant until 2018 due to the mosquito-borne virus linked to brain damage in babies. Health aside, their safety issues don’t end there. “Every week, it seems like there would be different instances,” Jill recalled of the sometimes dangerous conditions they would encounter.  Derick lamented the  kidnapping, rape and murder in El Salvador  that are just part of life there, which is sad on so many different levels. Her sister Jessa Duggar added that the violence is no joke: “I know whenever we’ve been down there, we hear gunshots all the time.” “It’s really intense down there, and I can’t imagine being home with a little one and hoping that your husband makes it back every night.” View Slideshow: Duggar Family Members: The Official Power Rankings! What do you think? Are they making a mistake? Sound off in the comments below and tell us what you think of Jill and Derick’s decision to return to Central America given their situation.

Yvonne Orji To Star In Commercial On The Evolution Of Black Beauty In Hollywood

Yvonne Orji has quickly become one of our favorite funny girls as Issa’s BFF on Insecure. After an overwhelmingly positive reception to season 1 of the HBO series, we had a feeling we’d be seeing a lot more of Yvonne, but we had no idea how soon. On February 11, she’s set to star in her own commercial on the evolution of beauty in Black Hollywood. The ad spot is the result of a collaboration between P&G’s My Black is Beautiful Initiative and the Image Awards to showcase black beauty in its various forms. In the commercial, the Nigerian-American actress, who’s also an Image Award nominee, will share her perspective on the evolution of Black beauty in Hollywood while embodying that very evolution herself with her chocolate skin, textured ‘fro, full lips, and contagious smile. Check out behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot and be sure to tune in to the NAACP Image Awards Saturday, February 11 on TV One. Red carpet starts at 7:30. [ madamenoire ] No Work, No School, No Spending: National Strike Against Trump Slated For February 17 Protests continue to pop up at various locations around the country in response to President Donald Trump’s Muslim travel ban, but now citizens around the United States are attempting to organize a national strike in which no one would go to work, school, or spend money on February 17 in a unified stance against our Commander-in-Chief. According to Cosmo, activists got the idea from Francine Prose, an American Writer who, in a column for The Guardian Monday, said: “Forget protest. Trump’s actions warrant a general national strike.” “So what can we do to protest our current government’s callousness about our environment and our health, its rampant greed, its disrespect for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?,” she wrote. “I believe that what we need is a nonviolent national general strike of the kind that has been more common in Europe than here. Let’s designate a day on which no one (that is, anyone who can do so without being fired) goes to work, a day when no one shops or spends money, a day on which we truly make our economic and political power felt, a day when we make it clear: how many of us there are, how strong and committed we are, how much we can accomplish.” [ madamenoire ] Did Shaq Consider Blessing Charles Barkley With A Fade On TV? The attention to the drama between LeBron James and Charles Barkley is slowly but surely petering out, but it’s making for some interesting TV. When discussing the matter on TNT Inside The NBA, Shaq told Chuck he would have stepped to him with the hands if he told him, like he told King James, he didn’t want to “compete.” Shaq made the point that it was the personal nature of Barkley’s critique that set LeBron James off. “When you said that man doesn’t want to compete, that’s what ticked him off. And I woulda did the same thing,” Shaq told Barkley. “I woulda came right back at your rack. I woulda came up here and punched you in your face. That’s what I woulda did.” To this, Chuck said, “Well first of all you’re not a good fighter…” There was a slight chuckle heard, then crickets. Bruh…look at Shaq’s face. Specifically, his eyes. It’s like he was measuring out how long it would take him to get to the other side of the table and mete out swift justice. Mel Gibson Welcomes NINTH Child, Remains a Terrible Person

There are now nearly as many Mel Gibson kids out there as there are tapes of the actor berating women and insulting Jewish people. And that’s because Gibson just welcomed his ninth kid into the world. Yes, his NINTH kid! In news broken by People Magazine, Gibson and his girlfriend of two years, Rosalind Ross, are now parents to a boy named Lars Gerard. He was born on January 20 in Los Angeles and weighed in at the time at 5 pounds, 5 ounces. A very enthusiastic source tells the publication: “They’re thrilled and Lars is adorable. Their family is all around them and Mel is over the moon . They’re home and everybody is healthy and happy!”  Gibson and Ross confirmed that the latter was expecting back in September. The anti-Semitic star is having a pretty good week, as his latest directorial effort, Hacksaw Ridge, was just nominated for Best Picture at the 2017 Academy Awards . He’s already a father to eight other children from previous relationships. They are: A daughter Hannah named Hannah. A son named Edward. A son named Christian. A son named William. A son named Louis. A son named Milo. A son named Thomas. All of these kids are the product of Gibson’s 28-year marriage to former dental nurse Robyn Moore. He also has a six-year old daughter ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, from whom Gibson had a contentious and violent split. “Mel loves being a dad, and he and Rose can’t wait to be parents together,” a family friend of the pair previously told People. “The last two years have been some of his happiest years he’s ever had.” Gibson is 60 years old and Ross is 26 years old, which may explain why these past two years have been so great for him. We don’t like Gibson very much, but we still send him and his girlfriend our best wishes. There’s a baby in the picture now. All that matters is his health and happiness.
