Here he goes again… After already providing his illuminating views on the Kardashian clan and their success, actor Daniel Craig has continued to speak with candor, this time on the subject of politicians. Daniel Craig isn’t one to mince words, and in the latest issue of Men’s Health, he has found his latest target: politicians. “You immediately are aligning yourself with a political party,” Craig told the magazine. “Politicians are sh–heads. That’s how they become politicians, even the good ones. “We’re actors, we’re artists, we’re very nice to each other. They’ll turn around and stab you in the f–king back.” Craig, 43, earlier this year called the Kardashians “f–king idiots” for parading around Hollywood televising their most intimate moments, and his assessment of kowtowing politicians is no less flattering. “Tony Blair started it much more than anybody’s ever done,” he said of politicians who attempt to be on-the-ins with the celebrity crowd. “It becomes ‘Mephisto,’ ” he said, referencing a 1981 film about an actor who aligns with the Nazis in order to climb the social ladder. One man who balances on the line between politicians and celebrity that the “James Bond” actor does respect, however, is George Clooney. “George has his finger on the political pulse, and he’s one of those guys who can get up and talk, and I don’t have that … If someone shoves a microphone in your face and says, ‘Explain yourself,’ you have to have a 100% understanding of why you’re doing it, and unless you’re 100%, don’t f–king do it, leave it alone, let your work speak for itself.” We like this guy, he just tells it like it is. Rapper succumbed to pulmonary embolism, a result of a blood clot that traveled to his lung. By Rob Markman Heavy D Photo: Prince Williams/ FilmMagic Though he was only 44 years old, a medical examiner has concluded that Heavy D ‘s death last month was a result of natural causes. TMZ reported that Heavy, born Dwight Myers, died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep vein thrombosis. Pulmonary embolism is usually caused by a blood clot formed in the leg that eventually travels up to the lung, stopping blood flow. In most cases, the clots formed aren’t deadly, but officials from L.A. County Coroner’s Office also told TMZ that the rapper suffered from heart disease and that may have been a contributing factor to his death as well. According to WebMD, common symptoms associated with pulmonary embolism are sudden shortness of breath, sharp chest pains, lightheadedness and fainting. Police reported that on November 8 they arrived at Heavy D’s Beverly Hills home after a call was made to report an unconscious man. When the cops arrived, they found the rapper conscious, though he had difficulty breathing. The self-proclaimed Overweight Lover was then transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. TMZ also reported that a flight that Heavy took back from Europe after performing at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales may have been a factor in his death as well. It is believed that the blood clots formed in Heavy’s legs due to his prolonged immobility on the long flight. Heavy was laid to rest on November 18. The night before his funeral, his brother Floyd Myers spoke with MTV News about his brother’s health from his family’s home, apparently unaware of Heavy’s heart disease. “Heavy was in great shape,” Myers said. “You guys seen him at the BET Awards, and he just did the tribute to Michael Jackson; they flew him out to London to do that. Heav was in good shape, healthy, no heart problems. He constantly made sure that his health was in check.” At the time, the initial autopsy report had come back inconclusive and Heavy’s family, friends and fans were still searching for answers. Still, rather than speculate, Heav’s brother remembered the positivity that the rapper exhibited in his life. “He loved family, and that’s who he was, but it wasn’t too much different from how he treated his friends and his fans,” he said. “He showed everybody love and affection, and we’re gonna miss that.” Related Videos Remembering Heavy D Related Photos Heavy D: Life, Music And Friends Related Artists Heavy D & The Boyz
When Brad Pitt lifted a glass of sparkling wine and toasted Angelina Jolie at Hollywood’s Magnolia restaurant Dec. 8, was he saluting more than her directorial debut? Almost definitely not. Still, if you believe what you read in OK!, six kids is not enough for the Brangelina brood. Unquestionably, Brad n’ Ange are looking to fix that problem in a hurry: They want a new baby in 2012. “She jokes about triplets constantly. And she’s not a big joker, really,” says a supposed
Perhaps the folks in this guy’s family need to hit up A&E’s Intervention: A Norfolk man turned up drunk for his sentencing in Madison County district court here, registering a blood-alcohol content of four times the legal limit. Daniel E. Harris, 46, was wheeled into the courtroom in a special chair with soft restraints around his hands and feet that resembled seatbelts. He was unconscious but breathing at that time. Kube said Harris had slipped and fallen in the courthouse parking lot. The Madison County sheriff’s office was able to administer a preliminary breath test before he passed out. The breathalyzer level indicated was .323. Legal intoxication is .08. Madison County sheriff’s office deputies were monitoring Harris closely during the short time he was in the courtroom. Judge James Kube ordered Harris be transported by ambulance to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk so he could be medically evaluated. A Madison County sheriff’s office deputy was to escort him there. In the event that Harris wasn’t taken into emergency protective custody, his bond was revoked and he would then be detained at the Madison County jail. Kube ordered Harris’ sentencing on his conviction of driving under the influence of alcohol (.15 grams or more)-third offense be continued until Monday. In that case, officers had pulled him over for a stop sign violation and noticed Harris’ slurred speech and hazy eyes. According to the police report, Harris was having a tough time standing up and walking. His blood-alcohol content tested at that time reached .315. Sounds like this guy needs to be taken to rehab PRONTO!!! SMH. Source
Wait. We thought they had their whole political situation situated? But apparently, the people of Egypt are no more able to express their disapproval of the government then they were before kicking out that shady Mubarak character. Egypt’s military sought to isolate pro-democracy activists protesting against their rule, depicting them as conspirators and vandals, as troops and protesters clashed for a third straight day, pelting each other with stones near parliament in the heart of the capital. At least 10 protesters have been killed and 441 others wounded in the three days of violence, according to the Health Ministry. Activists say most of the 10 fatalities died of gunshot wounds. The fighting, sparked when troops sought to break up a sit-in outside the Cabinet headquarters, has seen a particularly heavy hand by the military. Military police have been shown in video footage dragging women by the hair, even stripping the shirt off one veiled woman, and ferociously beating, kicking and stomping on protesters cowering on the ground. Still, the protesters’ numbers have remained smaller than earlier rallies — suggesting even anger over the disturbing images was not drawing the broader Egyptian public into a confrontation with the military, which activists behind the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak’s autocratic regime 10 months ago accuse of mismanaging the transition period and committing human rights abuses. In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the ruling military council on Sunday called the clashes part of a “conspiracy” against Egypt. It said its forces had the right to defend the “property of the great people of Egypt.” Seeking to depict the protesters as hooligans — and apparently to counter the widely published images of protesters being beaten — it also posted on the page footage of young men throwing rocks at a basement window of the parliament building and of at least one man trying to set the place ablaze. The ruling generals have taken advantage of the growing frustration of many Egyptians over worsening economic hardships and tenuous security, blaming demonstrations, strikes and sit-ins for their predicament. The tactic, coupled with the military’s efforts to stain the reputation of the youth groups behind Mubarak’s ouster, appears to have worked. The military has been using the state media and loyal private TV stations to project an image of itself as the protector of the nation and filling its public statements with patriotism and grave warnings of a dire future if political turmoil persisted. Protest leaders increasingly complain that they feel isolated in a society that has grown more concerned with making ends meet than political rights. Hunger does seem to be the strongest motivator of them all. Do you think this would ever happen here in the US? Source
After the miscarriage of their 20th child last week, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar announced that they will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, December 14. They’ve also given the baby girl a name: Jubilee Shalom Duggar. The stars of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting discovered at a routine ultrasound that the child, due next April, no longer had a heartbeat and Michelle had miscarried. “We have had many tears today,” says Jim Bob Duggar , 46. “This is life, and I understand that we are going though something that many others have.” “You think about the what-ifs, but God gives us strength to go on. We won’t be able to see this child’s life and the phases we’ve seen for our other children.” “But we will see this child in heaven one day. We are thankful, and we are blessed to have the children we have here and the ones we will meet someday.” Jim Bob says they are grateful for the health of youngest daughter, Josie, who turned 2 on December 10, and who has endured serious health problems. Jubilee Duggar’s memorial service will be for their friends and the Duggar family members, who already held a private service in their home late Sunday. Should the Duggars try again for baby #20?

Ten dollar HOLLER! San Francisco just became the first U.S. city to raise their minimum wage above $10. Well that’s a “lil positivity” at least! The sad part about it is that while the increase will benefit non-salaried workers, it’s not gonna help them as much as they probably need it — and the worst news is the increase may put some small businesses out of commission! San Franciscans passed a proposition in 2003 that requires the city to increase the minimum wage each year, using a formula tied to inflation and the cost of living. It’s just another way the progressive people of the City by the Bay have shown their support for the working-class in a locale where labor unions remain strong and housing costs are sky high. Karl Kramer of the San Francisco Living Wage Coalition said a decent wage for a single adult without children in the city would be $15, and that doubles when you have at least one child or more. But like other advocates of better wages, he’s still pleased that San Francisco will be the first in the nation to top $10. “It helps workers’ morale in a time of economic crisis; they feel that they’re able to tread water and get some relief from the recession,” said Kramer. While the city is at the forefront of attempting to provide a decent living wage, most employees say it’s still not a wage to live on, that the 32-cent hike seems like peanuts. And some employers say it could lead to layoffs by small businesses already forced to pay federal, state and city payroll taxes as well as a slew of other city-mandated taxes. Daniel Scherotter, chef and owner of Palio D’Asti, an upscale Italian restaurant in the Financial District, said the city’s minimum wage hike from $9.92 to $10.24 means that his highest-paid employees — the waiters who make most of their income from tips — will see more money in their pockets while his salaried kitchen staff will have to take the hit. If Scherotter raised menu prices to make up the difference, he’d risk going out of business in this economy. What the average San Franciscan may not know, he said, is that business owners also must pay another $1.23 to $1.85 an hour per employee for health-care coverage if they don’t offer health insurance. San Francisco is also the only city in the state that charges a payroll tax of 1.5 percent; it also mandates nine paid sick days annually per employee. “So that drives me nuts, that as a chef, I have to cut my kitchen allowance,” Scherotter said. “What I pay for a waiter is more than double what Manhattan pays, it’s more than double what Chicago pays, and it’s four times what Boston pays. And those are … other big, expensive, pro-labor cities. But I pay what they all pay added together for tipped employees.” Scherotter said the double whammy of recession and wage hikes has led to eight layoffs in his kitchen in the last four years. “We hear that all the time,” said Steve Falk, president and CEO of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. He said that by the time you add up all the mandates and taxes that city employers must pay for their minimum-wage workers, the payroll burden is at least 25 to 40 percent higher than other Bay Area cities. He gave the example of catering companies bidding for the contract at the city’s Treasure Island. In the end it went to a Napa firm over a San Francisco catering company because Napa was able to come in lower. “You can’t on one hand as a city impose mandates and fees on a local business and then exclude them because their costs are too high when they go to bid on a city contract or a city service,” Falk said. The chamber of commerce is calling on the city to build in a 25 to 30 percent bid allowance for San Francisco companies. “Fortunately, it’s a very attractive place to own a business and businesses thrive here because of the number of visitors,” Falk said. “But we always worry: where’s the tipping point?” That tipping point needs to lean toward the worker, said David Madland, director of the American Worker Project at the Washington, D.C.-based Center for American Progress Action Fund. He said the best studies on minimum wage indicate that the benefits outweigh the burdens placed on employers. “I think it’s a big deal when a city is making a commitment that says, `Our workers are going to get paid a livable wage for a day’s work,”‘ he said. “It’s also very important that in today’s economy when a core problem is lack of demand … that a city is actively taking steps to put more money into consumers’ pockets.” Source h1> More On Bossip!
