Why Celebrities Refusing To Vote Is Not Radical — It’s Gravely Irresponsible

See the article here:

There is nothing radical about refusing to vote. It doesn’t make you a renegade, a rebel or a rabble-rouser. And, if you’re a celebrity sharing your misguided views with millions of young followers — many of whom are eligible to vote for the first time — you’re a disgrace. If you didn’t already think […]

Amber Portwood SLAMS Gary Shirley: I’m a WAY Better Parent!

On last night’s episode of Teen Mom OG , Gary Shirley insinuated that Amber Portwood isn’t exactly the most competent and responsible mother on the planet. In fact, he suggested she’s incapable of simple tasks like ensuring that 7-year-old Leah brushes her teeth. In what must have been an embarrassing scene for Amber to watch, the episode featured Gary explaining to Leah that she has to promise to be diligent about her oral hygiene, as her mother isn’t up to the task of enforcing rules: “It’s hard for me to get her to do those kinds of things,” Shirley said of Amber. “I remind her and she gets mad at me. I need you to be the big girl and brush your teeth.” He later explained to his wife: “It’s very important for her routine to stay consistent and not to stop. Obviously I would love to have Leah with me every single day no matter what, but under these circumstances things don’t work that way. “I just want to make sure Leah’s safe, Leah is taken care of and Leah’s teeth are getting brushed.” And the shade throwing didn’t stop there. Gary also expressed his frustration over the fact that Amber would still be unable to take Leah to school, even though her new home would mean a considerably shorter commute. For obvious reasons, Amber didn’t take too kindly to this criticism. Seemingly to underscore the argument that Amber and Matt Baier are more concerned with living the posh life than with raising Leah, we were treated to yet another scene of the controversial couple splurging in a local furniture store. Amber clapped back on Twitter after receiving come criticism from fans. Unfortunately, her response doesn’t make a whole hell of a lot of sense: “It’s just ridiculous to think I’m incapable of bringing my child to school,” she tweeted. “I will fight to be the mother I deserve to be.” Come again? Seems like she should be more concerned about being the sort of mother that Leah deserves, don’t ya think? But what do we know? The weird thing about this situation is that Amber, Gary and Matt were all getting along just last week. We’re guessing that’s officially a thing of the past. Hey, it was fun while it lasted! Watch Teen Mom online to relive the ups and many, many downs of Amber and Gary’s relationship.

Jinger Duggar Flips Out Over Hair Crisis Moments Before Meeting Jeremy Vuolo!

If you watch Counting On online , you know that though they still live in separate states, Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo are pretty much on each other’s minds 24/7. There’s been talk of Jinger and Jeremy moving too fast , but these two clearly have no intention of slowing down. Jinger and Jeremy got engaged after just a few weeks of dating, and as this preview from tonight’s episode of Counting On reminds us, the couple is very eager to live together as man and wife:  Jinger Duggar: Curling Iron Crisis! The scene shows Jinger preparing to fly to Laredo to visit Jeremy in Texas – with her Michelle, Jessa, Ben Seewald and baby Spurgeon all along to chaperone, of course, because that’s how the Duggars roll. “Today I’m going to see Jeremy,” Jinger excitedly tells the camera. “It’s a super early morning and I’m flying from [Arkansas] and Jeremy’s coming from Laredo to meet me in Dallas at the airport and we’re all going to fly to Philly.” Though it’s an early morning flight, Jinger appears to be out of bed hours ahead of time, giddily telling Ben that she slept for “a very short time.” Speaking to the camera, Jinger admits: “It’s kind of hard to sleep when you know that within so many hours you’re going to be together again, so every time I go to see Jeremy it seems like I get very little sleep the night before.”  Jinger decides to make productive use of her sleepless hours by making her hair do that horrendous, teased ’80s thing that the Duggar women seem to love. Unfortunately, she forgot about Murphy’s Law of Hair: Anytime you’re about to see someone whom you hope to see naked, your hair will act like total dumbass and messing with it will only make things worse. “I don’t like this hair,” Jinger complains. “I grabbed the wrong curling iron, guys. What do I do? These curls look like, super tiny.” It’s not hard to see why she’s upset. Anyone familiar with the Bible will remember the passage in which Satan appears before a group of ringlet-haired harlots and informs them that tiny curls are totes his thing. Fortunately, Jinger retains her sense of humor throughout the ordeal. When Michelle Duggar asks if there’s anything she can do to help, Jinger jokes: “Uh, cry with me. No, I’m kidding. I’m not going to be so bad. I know he won’t even pay attention to my hair. It’s a girl thing.”  Sure she briefly considers missing her flight so that she can continue to fuss with her hair, but eventually cooler heads prevail. View Slideshow: Jinger Duggar Photos: From Childhood to Courtship! But we think it’s safe to say the girl is head-over-heels. No wonder she’s not listening to anyone’s concerns about her relationship .

Rosie O’Donnell Responds to Latest Donald Trump Debate Diss

For someone who really dislikes woman, Donald Trump sure gave a quality platform to a few of them during the first Presidential debate on Monday night and then again on Tuesday morning. After Hillary Clinton brought up former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, for example, Trump appeared on Fox and Friends today and slammed the beauty pageant winner for how much weight she gained. Really, this happened: Donald Trump on Alicia Machado: A HUGE Problem! Then there’s Katy Perry, who has gone ahead and gotten naked in honor of Voter Registration Day . But Trump once more gave the biggest platform to ongoing nemesis Rosie O’Donnell, responding to charges of sexism at the debate by referring back to his feud with the talk show host and saying she deserved all the vitriol that has come her way. “Hillary is hitting me with tremendous commercials,” the former Celebrity Apprentice host whined, adding: “Some of it said in entertainment, some of it said by somebody who’s been very vicious to me, Rosie O’Donnell. “I said very tough things to her and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her.” Through the nauseating years, Trump has described O’Donnell as “dumb loser,” “disgusting,” and “a slob,” who has a “fat, ugly face.” Heck, he called her a “fat pig” in August of last year during a Republican debate: Donald Trump Slams Rosie O’Donnell as “Fat Pig”: WATCH! The obsession is pretty hilarious at this point. So, how did Rosie response to The Donald making her a national talking point once again? With a very simple Tweet. “HE WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT …” O’Donnell wrote in response to his latest takedown. About 15 minutes later, she branded Trump an “orange anus” in this equally awesome message, which linked to the 2006 segment on The View in which she originally slammed Trump. “the 5 mins orange anus can’t seem to get over — tell the truth – shame the donald #ImWithHer,” Rosie wrote. Speaking of being “with her,” Madonna then came out and made it clear that she stands firmly with her former League of Their Own co-star. We’re loving this message sent by The Material Girl: And Madonna wasn’t the only person on Twitter to be taken aback by Trump revisiting his hated of Rosie O’Donnell. Consider these examples: How amazing will it be if Donald Trump’s disdain for Rosie O’Donnell actually costs him the election? There are approximately 9,876,984 other things he has said and done that ought to cost him the election, but hey. We’ll take whatever we can get. And the Winner is? Presidential Debate 2016: Who Won, Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump?!

After more than a year of bruising campaigning, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton went toe-to-toe for the first time on Monday night. Coming into the first presidential debate of the 2016 election, the Republican and Democratic nominees were in a virtual dead heat.  Will this evening’s ratings-shattering event change that? And the Winner is? Hillary Clinton Click Here To Vote for Hillary Donald Trump Click Here To Vote for Donald After more than a year of campaigning, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton went toe-to-toe in the first presidential debate of 2016. Who won it?! View Poll » Suspense, and the stakes, have been building for weeks. In an increasingly competitive and historic election, the anticipation could not be greater and the unpredictability could not be higher. Put that all together and the previous debate record of 45 million viewers ( Obama vs. Romney , 2012) could be doubled. Yes, doubled. Two months from now, the showdown at Hofstra University in New York may go down as a watershed moment in U.S. political history. Can Clinton, the first major party female nominee and one-time heavy favorite now clinging to a narrow lead in many polls, right the ship? The Democrat was widely expected to become the 45th President as recently as July, but Donald J. Trump has thrown a wrench into that. From the moment he announced his bid for the Republican nomination, the reality star and businessman has been a true wild card. No one other than his true believers took him seriously. Trump was written off so many times, and committed so many “this is the end of his campaign” blunders, we lost count. By February. His opponents assumed he’d eventually self-implode. Ask the other 16 Republican candidates who competed against him how that worked out. Clinton, however, represents a much tougher foe. Sucking the oxygen out of a room filled with wannabes is one thing. Can he conquer a one-woman political dynasty one-on-one next?  Hillary’s strategy was to knock Trump off balance and force him to stick to facts instead of his trademark vague, outrageous statements. Trump’s was to bring his unconventional, unfettered style to a traditional venue, convincing the American public that he’s up to the job. So who prevailed in this epic tilt? You tell us. Vote above and comment below.

Presidential Debate Fact-Check: Who Lied More, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?

The first debate of the 2016 presidential campaign has (finally) come to a close. And it was every bit as ugly as we thought it would be. In fact, it was basically one roundhouse to the temple away from a UFC match. Trump went after Hillary for her email scandal. Hillary went after Trump for his tax returns. And naturally, they both fudged the facts a bit. Okay, more than a bit in some cases. Sadly, Gennifer Flowers was not in attendance to witness it all firsthand. We’ve cross-referenced some of the more hotly-contested claims made by both candidates with the Pulitzer Prize-winning non-partisan website Politifact. So if you disagree with these findings, your beef is with them. Please don’t tear us apart in the comments. Our egos are fragile. Anyway, on to the facts: Clinton claimed that Trump once dismissed climate change as a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese. Politifact says she was absolutely right. Here’s the tweet she was referring to: Trump claimed that Clinton flip-flopped on the TPP trade deal. The Donald spoke the truth on that one. It seems to be one of the ways that Bernie Sanders’ campaign “pushed” Clinton to the left. Clinton’s claim that she voted against the controversial CAFTA deal during her time in the Senate was determined to be truthful. Asked about his persistent refusal to release his tax returns, Trump claimed that financial disclosures are just as revealing.  Politifact determined that’s factually inaccurate.  Not surprisingly, Trump was more than a little out of his element on issues related to poverty and systemic racism in America. Not only did he repeat the phrase “law & order” more than your grandfather when you switch the channel from TNT. Many pointed out that there was a bit of a disconnect between Trump’s support of stop and frisk and the birther movement and his “braggodocious” claims about his connections to the African-American community. According to Politifact, Clinton was correct in her claim that Trump was charged with housing discrimination and violations of the Civil Rights Act. Clinton was correct in her claims that black Americans are more likely to get arrested and more likely to face longer sentences for the same crimes. Clinton has a big lead amongst minorities, but that doesn’t mean she’s flawless on racial issues. Trump was correct in his claim that Clinton once used the term “superpredators” when referring to gang members. At more than one point, Trump claimed that both Clinton and debate moderator Lester Holt were lying in their claims that he supported the invasion of Iraq. Politifact determined that Trump did indeed support the invasion. One of the more surprising moments of the debate came toward the end of the evening when Clinton cited misogynistic, racist comments that Trump made about a Venezuelan-born actress and former beauty pageant contestant named Alicia Machado. Shockingly, those claims have been verified by several media outlets . View Slideshow: 19 Things Donald Trump Has Actually Said While Running for President As for the moment when Trump said his temperament is his strongest asset “maybe by far.” Well, we didn’t bother to check Politifact on that one.

Get Ya Folks: Hillary Clinton Talks “Directly To White People” Following Terence Crutcher’s Murder

Hillary Clinton Tells White People That They Need To Help Fight Racial Injustice Despite there not being much national television coverage surrounding the unscrupulous killing of Terence Crutcher, The Steve Harvey Morning show wasn’t about to let the subject go ignored. This morning they spoke to Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton about the newest social media hashtag and she took time to specifically address her fellow anglo-saxons. Via HuffingtonPost On Tuesday’s episode of “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” the former secretary of state and current Democratic presidential nominee said she wanted to speak “directly to white people” and let them know that “this is not who we are.” “How many times do we have to see this in our country?” Clinton said. “In Tulsa, an unarmed man with his hands in the air. This is just unbearable. And it needs to be intolerable.” “Maybe I can, by speaking directly to white people, say, look, this is not who we are,” she continued. “We have got to do everything possible to improve policing, to go right at implicit bias.” Hillz is making a concerted effort to gain the trust of black folks by speaking to the social justice issue that many of us are concerned about, but is it too little, too late?
