ABC’s Shipman Gushes Over Hillary the ‘Political Celebrity’

ABC’s Claire Shipman waxed ecstatic over Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday’s Good Morning America, as she reported on Mrs. Clinton’s efforts in the Middle Eastern peace process. Shipman exclaimed how the Secretary had a ” distinct, quite public moment of triumph ” in her meetings with leaders from both sides, and noted how Clinton has become an ” international political celebrity .” Anchor George Stephanopoulos, former communications director for President Bill Clinton, introduced the correspondent’s report, which aired 44 minutes into the 7 am Eastern hour. Stephanopoulos noted past administrations’ failure “to broker a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians” and then proclaimed how it was Mrs. Clinton’s ” turn to try to make diplomatic history .” Shipman began by highlighting how Hillary “remains one of the most popular members of the administration” and how she was now “squarely center stage” with the possibility of bringing “something different to this Middle East process.” After using her “moment of triumph” line, the ABC correspondent emphasized how Secretary Clinton was apparently “hard on the trail of a dream that has eluded so many before her, and those who know her well say she brings a special touch to wooing both sides back to the table .” She also underlined Clinton’s reported modus operandi in the peace process: “It’s a trademark recipe of pragmatism and discipline over ego- no high-profile shuttle diplomacy for her, for example.” Shipman used three sound bites from the liberal Brooking Institution’s Michael O’Hanlon and one from former Clinton administration official and current Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs P. J. Crowley to heap praise on Mrs. Clinton. After O’Hanlon highlighted how the Secretary apparently “chose to really marshal her resources and guard them jealously, and wait for the right moment,” the correspondent added her own lauds: ” The other asset she wields: a bit of female EQ, and an astute political instinct .” The high point of the gushing language over the senior diplomat came near the end of the report: SHIPMAN: It doesn’t hurt, of course, that over the years, she’s perfected her ability to shift gears in an instant . Hard-working Hillary, suddenly transforms once again into international political celebrity . O’HANLON: She’s a multi-dimensional public figure. She’s part global rock star, part everybody’s friend, because she goes by Hillary more than Secretary Clinton . Shipman even remarked about the Secretary’s new hairdo: ” Her hair is even back in the headlines. She’s getting rave reviews on her longer, cool, new do .” Earlier this year, on the June 9 edition of GMA, ABC’s Elizabeth Vargas credited Mrs. Clinton for the primary success of Republican women candidates: “So many women saying- doing so well, and many saying perhaps Hillary Clinton helped by running for president. All these other women about to possibly take office, high office, in those states.” The full transcript of Claire Shipman’s report from Friday’s Good Morning America: GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Henry Kissinger got the two sides of the Middle East conflict to stop fighting for a time. Jimmy Carter forged the Camp David agreements. But every administration since then has tried and failed to broker a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Now, it’s Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s turn to try to make diplomatic history. And Claire Shipman joins us from Washington with more. Hey, Claire. CLAIRE SHIPMAN: Hey, George. This is a big moment for Hillary Clinton. Her poll numbers show she remains one of the most popular members of the administration, but she’s tended to avoid the spotlight. Now, she’s back, squarely center stage, and we took a look at how she may bring something different to this Middle East process. SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON: Want us to stand here? SHIPMAN (voice-over): For a secretary of state whose style has been very much head down, nose to the grindstone, it was a distinct, quite public moment of triumph. CLINTON: I fervently believe that the two men sitting on either side of me- that you are the leaders who can make this long-cherished dream a reality. SHIPMAN: Peace talks back on track, she’s hard on the trail of a dream that has eluded so many before her, and those who know her well say she brings a special touch to wooing both sides back to the table. ISRAEL PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU: The people of Israel, and I, as their prime minister, are prepared to walk this road. PALESTINIAN PRESIDENT MAHMOUD ABBAS (through translator): The road is clear, in front of us, in order to reach peace. SHIPMAN: It’s a trademark recipe of pragmatism and discipline over ego- no high-profile shuttle diplomacy for her, for example. MICHAEL O’HANLON, BROOKINGS INSTITUTION: Secretary Clinton, unlike some of her predecessors and unlike some previous presidents, chose to really marshal her resources and guard them jealously, and wait for the right moment. SHIPMAN: The other asset she wields: a bit of female EQ, and an astute political instinct. P. J. CROWLEY, STATE DEPARTMENT: She’s been in the arena. She’s been bruised- you know, in that arena. And this gives her a credibility that helps relate to leaders. SHIPMAN: And it doesn’t hurt, of course, that over the years, she’s perfected her ability to shift gears in an instant. Hard-working Hillary, suddenly transforms once again into international political celebrity. O’HANLON: She’s a multi-dimensional public figure. She’s part global rock star, part everybody’s friend, because she goes by Hillary more than Secretary Clinton. SHIPMAN: And her hair is even back in the headlines. She’s getting rave reviews on her longer, cool, new do. CLINTON: And now, it’s time to get to work. SHIPMAN (live): Well, George, not the hair again- but, of course, ultimately, she will be judged not by her appearance, but by results in this process. There is a lot of hard work to be done. The two sides are hoping to talk to each other as frequently as every week, and Hillary Clinton is hoping to have another high-profile meeting in the Middle East as early as September, but we’ll see. STEPHANOPOULOS: And they’re facing a real deadline at the end of September on whether or not to continue- to start building those settlements again. SHIPMAN: Exactly, and a lot of people worry that that could put this process, so new, in jeopardy again. STEPHANOPOULOS: Okay. Claire Shipman, thanks a lot.

Some Chicago Dentist Is Running ‘Hillary for 2012’ Ads in New Orleans [2012]

American politics makes such little sense nowadays that any random jumble of words you put together is likely to describe a real-world situation. For example: Some Chicago dentist is currently running “Hillary 2012” TV ads in New Orleans. It’s true! More

Olbermann Sarcastically ‘Thanks’ Bush for Starting Troop Withdrawal, ‘Neocons Lied to Get Us in There’

On Wednesday’s Countdown show, responding to conservatives who wanted President Obama to give more credit to President Bush for apparent successes in Iraq, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann sarcastically thanked the former President and charged that the war in Iraq was Bush’s “false war.” He went on to claim that, “The neocons lied about Iraq to get us in there.” Guest Jeremy Scahill of the left-wing “The Nation” magazine joined in slamming President Bush and “neocons” for the Iraq war, claimed the troop surge did not play a significant role in stabilizing the country, and ended up asserting that Bush administration members who supported the invasion “shouldn’t be able to leave their houses without being confronted with the death and destruction that their lies caused.” And, even though various news outlets reported on the presence of al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab Zarqawi in the country years before the 2003 invasion, Scahill claimed that “it was the Bush administration’s policy in Iraq that created an al-Qaeda presence in that country.” But, as previously documented by NewsBusters , back in January 2003 and again in March 2004, the NBC Nightly News relayed claims that the Bush administration had “passed up several opportunities to take [Zarqawi] out well before the Iraq war began.” Below is a complete transcript of the segment with Jeremy Scahill from the Wednesday, September 1, Countdown show on MSNBC: KEITH OLBERMANN: But praising Mr. Bush was not enough for those war supporters, unrealistic even by Bill Kristol’s standards. Former Bush National Security Advisor Steven Hadley told the Wall Street Journal, quote, “I thought I owed it to the former President that somewhere out there, somebody gives him some credit and points out that he is the one actually that started withdrawing U.S. troops.” Okay, I’ll do it. I, Keith Olbermann, do hereby give former U.S. President George Walker Bush some credit for starting to withdraw U.S. troops, except for those who were withdrawn because they were already dead – 4,427 of them – for whose presence in that nation I also credit President Bush. So, thank you, Mr. Bush, for starting to withdraw those troops lucky enough not to die in your false war. Thank you, Mr. Bush, for starting to withdraw those troops lucky enough to leave before they joined the ranks of the 31,000 whose bodies and lives and futures were shattered by your false war. Thank you for starting to withdraw after bankrupting our nation for your war after it became clear even Iraq would no longer let you stay, and just in time for America to try to accomplish something in Afghanistan, nine years after you let Osama bin Laden get away so you could fight the war for which America, we are told, should now thank you. Adding his thanks tonight, the national security reporter for the Nation magazine, Jeremy Scahill, also the author of Blackwater: The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army. Jeremy, thanks for your time tonight. JEREMY SCAHILL, THE NATION: Thank you. OLBEMRANN: All right, go ahead. Share your thanks to President Bush while we’re on this. SCAHILL: Well, Keith, you know who should be thanking President Bush tonight? The Iranian government. They have a much greater influence in Iraq now than they ever have had. Russian and Chinese oil companies that have gotten a lot of the oil contracts there. Anyone who likes to kill Americans should thank President Bush. And also among those that should thank President Bush are the people in possession of the billions of missing dollars that went missing in George Bush`s Iraq. The people who don’t have any obligation to thank President Bush are the families of the thousands of U.S. servicemen and women that died in that country, the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians that died, the millions of Iraqis that are displaced as a result of this illegal, immoral war that unfortunately, Keith, and we have to say this, was supported by Hillary Clinton when she was a Senator, and Joe Biden when he was a Senator. So the blame should be shared across the board. But George Bush is number one responsible for this, and deserves no thanks from anyone except people what could be described as enemies of this country and of security in the world. OLBERMANN: The former coalition spokesman, Dan Senor, said that the tone of the speech last night was fine. As I mentioned, Bill Kristol called the speech commendable, even impressive. Why are the others so insistent on the President praising Bush, without getting too deeply into the psychology of mass hypnosis and other things that might be relevant. Just the basics. SCAHILL: Right, well, these people have a PhD in lying, and a master’s degree in manipulating intelligence. And it’s really sobering to see this kind of brass historical revisionism happening in real time. The idea that these people want to post some kind of false flag of victory on the corpses of all who have died in Iraq because of their decisions. These people destabilized Iraq. They destabilized the Middle East with their neocon vision of redrawing maps. And they didn’t even succeed in their own stated mission. This is a special kind of pathological sickness that these individuals collectively are plagued with. OLBERMANN: The neocons lied about Iraq to get us in there, and now, as you point out, they’re lying about how we got out. Since they were not paying attention, we assume deliberately, it’s not that complicated, but can you explain the factors that actually led to the reduction of violence there, the ones that they erroneously credit to the surge? SCAHILL: Right, pardon me for introducing a little bit of fact onto cable news over these 24 hours. But the reality is there was no success of the surge. The fact is that Bush’s policy in Iraq caused massive destabilization, led to a civil war that killed upwards of a million Iraqis. There were ethnic cleansing campaigns. When the surge troops went in there, Baghdad was a walled off city. The Sunnis had been pushed out and sided with the United States. Muqtada al-Sadr responded to the announced time table for withdrawal that the neocons so opposed by saying he considered it a truce with the Americans and pulled his forces off the streets. So the entire surge myth permeates to this day. And it’s actually one big lie. OLBERMANN: The Hadley crediting of the Obama Iraq policies goes with it, arguing that Iraq was worth it. But he says that al-Qaeda in Iraq is, quote, “still capable of spectacular terrorist attacks.” And he simply asserts that somehow those are not a strategic threat anymore. Iraq’s not a threat because the Republicans don’t have the White House? Is that what it boils down to? SCAHILL: Well, let’s remember, and I’d like to remind Mr. Hadley, I’m sure he watches your show every night, Keith, that it was the Bush administration’s policy in Iraq that created an al-Qaeda presence in that country. It was their policies that destabilized that country and caused the deaths of so many Americans and so many Iraqi civilians. Steven Hadley probably sees Osama bin Laden at his corner store or hiding in his bathroom somewhere. So these people have zero credibility and have no business in public life anymore. They shouldn’t be able to leave their houses without being confronted with the death and destruction that their lies caused. OLBERMANN: Jeremy Scahill of the Nation, as always, a pleasure. Thank you, Jeremy. SCAHILL: Thank you.

ABC’s Bianna Golodryga Knocks Franklin Graham for ‘Adding to the Confusion’ Over Obama’s Religion

[Updated] Good Morning America co-host Bianna Golodryga on Saturday chided the Reverend Franklin Graham, complaining that ” one of the country’s leading evangelicals is adding to the confusion ” over Barack Obama’s religion. Reporter Jake Tapper then played a clip of Graham being interviewed on CNN: “He was born a Muslim. His father was a Muslim. The seed of Islam is passed through the father. He’s renounced Islam and he has accepted Jesus Christ.” Yet, the New York Times struck a very similar tone in a  May 12, 2008 op-ed . Contributor Edward Luttwak wrote, “As the son of the Muslim father, Senator Obama was born a Muslim under Muslim law as it is universally understood. It makes no difference that, as Senator Obama has written, his father said he renounced his religion. Likewise, under Muslim law based on the Koran his mother’s Christian background is irrelevant.” Both the Times and Graham went on to point out that Obama has embraced Christianity. During his report, Tapper repeated Democratic claims as to who is responsible for some Americans believing the President to be a Muslim: “Those reports, Democrats say, have combined with Muslim roots on the President’s father’s side, an exotic name and political enemies emphasizing his otherness.” The apparent proof of this was then seen in a clip for Fox and Friends’ Steve Doocy: “The first decade of his life, raised by his Muslim father, as a Muslim, and was educated in a Madrassa!” While Good Morning America and other programs have highlighted Graham’s comments, none have mentioned the August 2, 2008 edition of 60 Minutes. On that show, then-candidate Hillary Clinton coyly exclaimed that Obama isn’t a secret Muslim, “as far as I know”: STEVE KROFT: You don’t believe that Senator Obama is a Muslim? Sen. CLINTON: Of course not. I mean, that’s–you know, there is not basis for that. You know, I take him on the basis of what he says . And, you know, there isn’t any reason to doubt that. KROFT: And you said you’d take Senator Obama at his word that he’s not a Muslim. Sen. CLINTON: Right. Right. KROFT: You don’t believe that he’s a Muslim or implying? Right. Sen. CLINTON: No. No. Why would I? No, there is nothing to base that on, as far as I know. A transcript of the August 21 segment, which aired at 7:09am EDT, follows: BIANNA GOLODRYGA: To politics now and the continuing confusion over the President’s religion. President Obama is vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard. But across the country, many Americans still believe incorrectly that he is a Muslim. Now, one of the country’s leading evangelicals is adding to the confusion . Senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper is with the President on Martha’s Vineyard and joins us with more. Jake, this is an issue that continues to haunt the President. JAKE TAPPER: That’s right, Bianna. Not only is the number of Americans who mistakenly believe the President to be a Muslim growing. Now, almost half the American people say they don’t know what religion the President is. This week, the Reverend Franklin Graham told CNN he knew why there was so much apparent confusion about what religion the President is. FRANKLIN GRAHAM: He was born a Muslim. His father was a Muslim. The seed of Islam is passed through the father. He’s renounced Islam and he has accepted Jesus Christ. TAPPER: The President says he has always been a Christian, but the White House has chosen not to make too big a deal out of the confusion. BILL BURTON (White House Deputy Press Secretary): You know, the President is a committed Christian. I think that the American people know that. TAPPER: But that’s not true. Untrue rumors that he’s a Muslim continue to resonate with the public. With a new Time/CNN poll indicating that almost one in four Americans think, wrongly, that he is a Muslim. And nearly half of the public in a Pew poll says they’re not sure what religion the President is. Mr. Obama has made a great effort to discuss his Christian beliefs , as he did on Easter. BARACK OBAMA: What I can do is tell you what draws me to this holy day. What lesson I take from Christ’s sacrifice and what inspires me about the story of the resurrection. TAPPER: Democrats blame widely-circulated conspiratorial e-mails and false reports in the media. [Clip from Fox and Friends.] STEVE DOOCY: The first decade of his life, raised by his Muslim father, as a Muslim, and was educated in a Madrassa! TAPPER: Those reports, Democrats say, have combined with Muslim roots on the President’s father’s side, an exotic name and political enemies emphasizing his otherness . And, Bob and Bianna, political observers say that the confusion has been compounded with the fact that President Obama has yet to pick a congregation in Washington, D.C. with whom to pray. The White house says that’s because the President doesn’t want to inconvenience other parishioners by bringing added security and, of course, the likes of us in the media. Back to you in New York. WOODRUFF: It’s amazing this is still going on. GOLODRYGA: Yeah. You can’t recall any other president that had this issue of what religion they were follow them for so many years. WOODRUFF: For all these years. Unbelievable.

WaPo Highlights Dem Outrage at Fox Donations to GOP, Downplays Reality of 50-50 Contributions

The Washington Post hyped the news on the front of Wednesday’s Style section that Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation has donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association , “triggering swift criticism from Democrats that a contribution of that magnitude casts a shadow on his media properties, particularly Fox News.” In paragraph 13, on page C-10, this apparent outrage of Republican favoritism gets ruined by reality: Until now, the News Corp./Fox political action committee had given 54 percent of its donations to Democrats and 46 percent to Republicans , according to the Center for Responsive Politics — including $8,000 to Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid’s campaign committee and $5,000 to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s organization. News Corp. also gave $45,000 each to GOP and Democratic campaign committees on Capitol Hill. So the real story here is that Democrats are having a fit over the RGA donation, even if the overall donation levels are about even. Reporter Howard Kurtz failed to inform readers that Murdoch held a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in 2006 (and the New York Post endorsed her Senate re-election bid). Kurtz only mentioned he’d “sought accomodations” with her: An outspoken conservative, the Australian-born Murdoch has nonetheless sought accommodations over the years with political rivals, including Tony Blair when he was British prime minister and Hillary Rodham Clinton when she was a senator from New York. Kurtz suggested the RGA donation spurred a new anti-Fox News political campaign by the Democratic Party:   The White House refused for months to make top officials available for interviews and assailed Fox as an arm of the Republican Party — an attack that was revived Tuesday. “Any pretense that may have existed about the ties between Fox News and the Republican Party has been ripped violently away,” said Hari Sevugan, spokesman for the Democratic National Committee. “Any Republican that appears on Fox should now have a disclaimer that they are financially supported by the network and any coverage of the elections this fall on Fox should be reported with disclaimer for what it is — partisan propaganda.” But if “disclaimers” were being handed out, wouldn’t every report on Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have to note they were funded by the parent company of Fox News? And wouldn’t that tend to ruin the DNC spin? If Sevugan thinks the on-air FNC product is ridiculously unfair and imbalanced, if anything, the roughly 50-50 donations levels must be more balanced than the TV coverage.  It’s quite clear that the Democrats are used to a media environment where every network, every newspaper, and every “news” magazine caters to Barack Obama and find it scandalous and outrageous that anyone wouldn’t march to their drumbeat. Being a “real” news network and not a “partisan propaganda” outlet by their definition actually requires being a partisan propaganda outlet for Obama.

Senate Bill S510 Makes it illegal to Grow, Share, Trade or Sell Homegrown Food

Update: Since the story first broke, a lot has happened. One reason for this could be that food is being poisoned. Collecting rainwater is now illegal in many states. Your intake is being controlled. For more information, visit the following articles as well: “Raiding organic food stores. A sign of new times?” at: http://www.firetown.com/blog/2010/08/05/raiding-organic-food-stores-a-sign-of-ne… “Collecting rainwater now illegal in many states as Big Government claims ownership over our water.” at: http://www.theworldsprophecy.com/collecting-rainwater-now-illegal-in-many-states… “Why do people in America refuse to take active interest in their future?” at http://www.firetown.com/blog/2010/08/03/why-do-people-in-america-refuse-to-take-… ———————————————————————————————————— S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, may be the most dangerous bill in the history of the US. It is to our food what the bailout was to our economy, only we can live without money. “If accepted [S 510] would preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes. It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one’s choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God.” ~Dr. Shiv Chopra, Canada Health whistleblower It is similar to what India faced with imposition of the salt tax during British rule, only S 510 extends control over all food in the US, violating the fundamental human right to food. Monsanto says it has no interest in the bill and would not benefit from it, but Monsanto’s Michael Taylor who gave us rBGH and unregulated genetically modified (GM) organisms, appears to have designed it and is waiting as an appointed Food Czar to the FDA (a position unapproved by Congress) to administer the agency it would create — without judicial review — if it passes. S 510 would give Monsanto unlimited power over all US seed, food supplements, food and farming. History In the 1990s, Bill Clinton introduced HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points) purportedly to deal with contamination in the meat industry. Clinton’s HACCP delighted the offending corporate (World Trade Organization “WTO”) meat packers since it allowed them to inspect themselves, eliminated thousands of local food processors (with no history of contamination), and centralized meat into their control. Monsanto promoted HACCP. In 2008, Hillary Clinton, urged a powerful centralized food safety agency as part of her campaign for president. Her advisor was Mark Penn, CEO of Burson Marsteller*, a giant PR firm representing Monsanto. Clinton lost, but Clinton friends such as Rosa DeLauro, whose husband’s firm lists Monsanto as a progressive client and globalization as an area of expertise, introduced early versions of S 510. S 510 fails on moral, social, economic, political, constitutional, and human survival grounds. 1. It puts all US food and all US farms under Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, in the event of contamination or an ill-defined emergency. It resembles the Kissinger Plan. 2. It would end US sovereignty over its own food supply by insisting on compliance with the WTO, thus threatening national security. It would end the Uruguay Round Agreement Act of 1994, which put US sovereignty and US law under perfect protection. Instead, S 510 says: COMPLIANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS. Nothing in this Act (or an amendment made by this Act) shall be construed in a manner inconsistent with the agreement establishing the World Trade Organization or any other treaty or international agreement to which the United States is a party. 3. It would allow the government, under Maritime Law, to define the introduction of any food into commerce (even direct sales between individuals) as smuggling into “the United States.” Since under that law, the US is a corporate entity and not a location, “entry of food into the US” covers food produced anywhere within the land mass of this country and “entering into” it by virtue of being produced It imposes Codex Alimentarius on the US, a global system of control over food. It allows the United Nations (UN), World Health Organization (WHO), UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the WTO to take control of every food on earth and remove access to natural food supplements. Its bizarre history and its expected impact in limiting access to adequate nutrition (while mandating GM food, GM animals, pesticides, hormones, irradiation of food, etc.) threatens all safe and organic food and health itself, since the world knows now it needs vitamins to survive, not just to treat illnesses. 5. It would remove the right to clean, store and thus own seed in the US, putting control of seeds in the hands of Monsanto and other multinationals, threatening US security. See Seeds – How to criminalize them, for more details. 6. It includes NAIS, an animal traceability program that threatens all small farmers and ranchers raising animals. The UN is participating through the WHO, FAO, WTO, and World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) in allowing mass slaughter of even heritage breeds of animals and without proof of disease. Biodiversity in farm animals is being wiped out to substitute genetically engineered animals on which corporations hold patents. Animal diseases can be falsely declared. S 510 includes the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), despite its corrupt involvement in the H1N1 scandal, which is now said to have been concocted by the corporations. Fresh food that lasts from eFoods Direct (Ad) 7. It extends a failed and destructive HACCP to all food, thus threatening to do to all local food production and farming what HACCP did to meat production – put it in corporate hands and worsen food safety. 8. It deconstructs what is left of the American economy. It takes agriculture and food, which are the cornerstone of all economies, out of the hands of the citizenry, and puts them under the total control of multinational corporations influencing the UN, WHO, FAO and WTO, with HHS, and CDC, acting as agents, with Homeland Security as the enforcer. The chance to rebuild the economy based on farming, ranching, gardens, food production, natural health, and all the jobs, tools and connected occupations would be eliminated. 9. It would allow the government to mandate antibiotics, hormones, slaughterhouse waste, pesticides and GMOs. This would industrialize every farm in the US, eliminate local organic farming, greatly increase global warming from increased use of oil-based products and long-distance delivery of foods, and make food even more unsafe. The five items listed — the Five Pillars of Food Safety — are precisely the items in the food supply which are the primary source of its danger. 10. It uses food crimes as the entry into police state power and control. The bill postpones defining all the regulations to be imposed; postpones defining crimes to be punished, postpones defining penalties to be applied. It removes fundamental constitutional protections from all citizens in the country, making them subject to a corporate tribunal with unlimited power and penalties, and without judicial review. It is (similar to C-6 in Canada) the end of Rule of Law in the US. … Continued at http://www.theworldsprophecy.com/senate-bill-s510-makes-it-illegal-to-grow-share… http://i499.photobucket.com/albums/rr360/ourhomeremedies/NaturalCureHomeRemedies… added by: Dagum

CNN’s Moos: Booing Scouts Weren’t ‘Courteous and Kind’ to President Obama

On Tuesday’s American Morning, CNN’s Jeanne Moos picked up on the viral video of Boy Scouts booing President Obama’s taped message to the recent National Jamboree, but got in a light jab at the youth for their behavior: “Booing would seem to go against some of the 12 tenets of Boy Scout Law. A Boy Scout is ‘trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind’- wait a minute, ‘courteous and kind’? ” The correspondent, known for her light reports for the network, concluded the 6 am Eastern hour with “unique take” on the video, as anchor John Roberts put it. Moos noted that “45,000 Scouts were celebrating the 100th anniversary of Scouting” in the United States at the Jamboree, which was held at the U.S. Army’s Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, and that “two months earlier, the White House informed the Scouts that the President had prior commitments.” Moos continued that the “Scouts…booed the President’s message, and this 23-second video made its way on to conservative websites, which slammed the President for forsaking the Boy Scouts to appear on ‘The View.'” She later gave the Obama administration’s explanation for the apparent snub: “The White House says ‘The View’ had nothing to do with it- that the President was already scheduled to be on the road that day.” The CNN correspondent’s jab against the booing culprits, using two of the twelve points of the Scout Law , came near the end of the report. She added that “a statement from the Boy Scouts said the organization does not condone booing.” Moos concluded, “If the President’s watching this, the jamboree returns in four years.” In the past, Moos has hit subjects from both sides of the political spectrum. On the April 30, 2008 edition of American Morning, the correspondent devoted all but six seconds of a two-and-a-half minute report to “granny” supporters of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns. Later that year, during the Democratic National Convention, she highlighted the dancing antics of CNN’s liberal pundits . Just over a year ago, on August 4, 2009, Moos devoted an entire segment to the viral Obama as the Joker image . That December, the correspondent also exposed left-wing rage being directed at independent Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman. Most recently, during a June 22, 2010 report, she refreshingly spotlighted how the President frequently golfed during the oil leak disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. The full transcript of Jeanne Moos’s report from Tuesday’s American Morning: KIRAN CHETRY: Meantime, the Boy Scouts are voicing their displeasure with President Obama, claiming that he passed up an invitation to join their big jamboree to appear on ‘The View.’ JOHN ROBERTS: No one, though, was prepared for just how emotionally the Scouts would react, and here’s Jeanne Moos with her unique take on it. JEANNE MOOS (voice-over): It’s bad enough getting booed, whether you’re busted for dog fighting (crowd boos football player Michael Vick), or competing for Miss Universe- UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE ANNOUNCER: USA. (crowd boos) MOOS: But imagine getting booed by the Boy Scouts. (scouts boo as taped message of President Obama plays, from YouTube.com video) And the person they’re booing is the president of the United States. Actually, what they were booing was President Obama sending a taped message, rather than coming in person to the recent Boy Scout jamboree. UNIDENTIFIED MALE 1: Thanks for showing up! MOOS: Some 45,000 Scouts were celebrating the 100th anniversary of Scouting. Two months earlier, the White House informed the Scouts that the President had prior commitments. UNIDENTIFIED MALE 2: It doesn’t really bother me. UNIDENTIFIED MALE 3: Disappointed but, I mean- busy man. What can you do? MOOS: But just a few days after those interviews- PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Scouts just like you- MOOS: Scouts just like these booed the President’s message, and this 23-second video made its way on to conservative websites, which slammed the President for forsaking the Boy Scouts to appear on ‘The View.’ OBAMA (from ABC’s ‘The View’): Thank you! MOOS: Some figured the booing tape was somehow doctored. (reading from website) ‘I don’t believe for one second that these 23 seconds of film is accurate.’ MOOS (on-camera): Believe it- some Boy Scouts booed.  (holding three fingers up in Scout Sign) Trust me, ‘Scout’s honor.’ MOOS (voice-over): The Boy Scout who shot it wouldn’t do an interview, but he told us that though he didn’t boo, there was a moderate amount of booing going on around him, mostly from Scouts annoyed, not because of the President’s policies, but because he didn’t show up as six previous presidents have. The White House says ‘The View’ had nothing to do with it- that the President was already scheduled to be on the road that day. JON STEWART (from Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show”): Look on the bright side. Boy Scouts will finally get their merit badge for crushing disappointment. Look- MOOS (on-camera): Now, on the face of it, booing would seem to go against some of the 12 tenets of Boy Scout Law. MOOS (voice-over): A Boy Scout is ‘trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind’- wait a minute, ‘courteous and kind’? (scouts booing, from YouTube.com video) A statement from the Boy Scouts said the organization does not condone booing. UNIDENTIFIED MALE 4: I hope you’re watching this! MOOS: If the President’s watching this, the jamboree returns in four years. OBAMA (from 2009 Inauguration): I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear- MOOS: That if re-elected, I will try to make it to the next jamboree. OBAMA: So help me God. MOOS: Jeanne Moos, CNN, New York.   ROBERTS: Some of the Boy Scouts not too happy about getting a taped message.

USA Today’s Neuharth Ridicules ‘Ludicrous’ and ‘Laughable’ Limbaugh

USA Today founder Al Neuharth used his weekly column on Friday to ridicule Rush Limbaugh, marking the 22nd anniversary of Limbaugh’s national radio show by denouncing the conservative talk titan for “ludicrous” assertions and deriding him for having “the best comedy show on radio.” In the column titled “ Limbaugh anniversary is a laughing matter ,” Neuharth condescendingly maintained: “I’m not a regular Limbaugh listener because on most days when he peddles his diatribe, I’m busy doing something worthwhile.” But on a recent “long auto trip” he tuned in and heard “laughables,” scolding Limbaugh for making anti-Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton “cojones” quips. So, he then recommended: For the dog days of August, I suggest you have a portable radio with you in your car, on the beach or park outings. Laughing at Limbaugh will make all that more fun. Two weeks ago Neuharth, who boasts about voting for Obama, used his column, “ At 88, McGovern still doesn’t mince words ,” to pay tribute to the liberal icon: “He’s been known nationally for plainly speaking his mind on major matters for nearly half a century…” An excerpt from Neuharth’s August 6 “Plain Talk” column: ….Most of his regular listeners take him very seriously. Many of my conservative friends actually agree with his ludicrous stuff and some worship him religiously. I love listening to him because I think he has the best comedy show on radio. I’m not a regular Limbaugh listener because on most days when he peddles his diatribe, I’m busy doing something worthwhile. But my radio stays tuned to his show when I take one of my frequent long auto trips, as I did recently to my native South Dakota and neighboring North Dakota…. After he quit bragging about himself, some of his other laughables: – “Sarah Palin says the governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer, has something that (President) Obama lacks: cojones.” – What James Carville, the former Clinton aide and supporter, said was, if Hillary gave Obama “one of her cojones they’d both have two.” I don’t necessarily agree that anyone on the air should use that kind of language. But the fact that Limbaugh not only gets away with it but is the kingpin for so many otherwise cautious or discreet or intelligent people makes him almost as important as he thinks he is. So, for the dog days of August, I suggest you have a portable radio with you in your car, on the beach or park outings. Laughing at Limbaugh will make all that more fun.
