Read the rest here:

Two new songs from Jean Grae this week?   Maybe we haven’t been paying close enough attention to this underrated female emcee, but we can’t remember hearing much from her after the release of her Jeanius project a couple of years ago, aside from a cameo on Talib Kweli ‘s Gutter Rainbows album. Samples of History: Hip-Hop Mines Afrobeat The Greatest Blaxploitation Soundtracks Of All Time “You Don’t Like It, So What” is the first track leaked from her forthcoming album, Cake or Death .  Of course, the hook is built around a sample of Rob Base’s “It Takes Two.”  Jean spits her clever rhymes with a quirky sense of humor. Samples of History: Kanye West, Soul-Stealer Curtis Mayfield’s “Impressions” On Today’s Music A source tells UK tabloid The Sun that Kanye frequents the school’s campus whenever he is in London. “Kanye spends a lot of time with fashion students and often hooks up with Central’s arty pupils when he is in London. The rapper already has work experience with Fendi and Louis Vuitton on his CV. Now that he has been interviewed the school’s board will have to decide whether to allow him to start the MA fashion course later this year.” Kanye’s also rumored to have applied to the London College of Fashion as well. Central Saint Martin has had several famous fashion alumni, including Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, and the controversial John Galliano. Women’s Rights Activists Prevent Release Of Kanye’s “Monster” Video

Continue reading here:

We’ve all been wondering whatever happened to that video Kanye West and crew filmed for “Monster.”  A rough cut of the video leaked last year, but we’re just now finding out that a pair of women’s rights activists prevented the release of the video. Curtis Mayfield’s “Impressions” On Today’s Music WBW Honors: Madame C.J. Walker From Change.org : Kanye West has never been one to shy away from controversy, but fans and activists alike are concerned his newest video “Monster” glorifies violence against women. That’s why activists Sharon Haywood and Melinda Tankard Reist created a petition asking MTV and Universal Music Group to pull the offensive and misogynistic video. MTV recently responded to the over 1,600 Change.org members who signed their petition, agreeing not to air “Monster.” But Haywood and Reist’s work is far from over, as Universal Music Group still hasn’t responded… “The mainstreaming of videos like this increases desensitized and callous attitudes toward violence against women,” said Reist, one of the campaign originators. “Young people are seeing images and absorbing harmful messages which glamorize misogyny and brutalize women. Women are reduced to sex-doll like playthings. So great is the level of desensitization that the barbaric treatment of women and girls is seen as normal and to be expected. We decided to run this campaign because we wanted to challenge the status quo.” Watch the rough cut of the controversial video below: RELATED: Kanye West, Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj “Monster” Video Leaks [VIDEO] RELATED: Five Other Movies That Inspired Hype Williams Videos

What happens if you were to mash-up historical moments in American History with porn? Yes, you read that right. The answer is that you’d get Bicentennial Curious a short film (20 minutes) that is a behind the scenes look at the making of a adult film franchise. However, it’s not serious and is pretty hysterical. It comes with all the cheesy stuff you’d expect in an adult film (without the nudity however),… Broadcasting platform : Vimeo Source : The Big Guy Discovery Date : 26/02/2011 02:12 Number of articles : 2

Kevin Costner Will Be ‘Pa’ In ‘Superman,’ Sources Reveal

Reports say Oscar-winner will play Man of Steel’s adoptive father, Jonathan Kent, in Zack Snyder’s reboot. By Shawn Adler Kevin Costner Photo: Getty Images/ Kevin Winter Kevin Costner is a man of interest for the Man of Steel, with director Zack Snyder and team keen to cast the “Bull Durham” and “Dances With Wolves” star in their Superman reboot, according to a Deadline report. Citing “well-placed sources,” Latino Review reported that Costner will play Jonathan “Pa” Kent, Kal-El’s adoptive Earth father. With the film shrouded in secrecy, though, it might take Brainiac himself to figure out exactly for what role Costner is being courted. But, given Costner’s screen history in films like “Field of Dreams,” the role of “Pa,” played by Glenn Ford in Richard Donner’s 1978 “Superman,” seems likely. What little is known about the film suggests Costner also could play the role of Perry White, editor-in-chief of Metropolis mega-paper The Daily Planet , or General Zod, hinted as a companion to a rumored fellow Kryptonian villain. It’s possible Costner might even step into the shoes of fellow Oscar-winners Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey to play archenemy Lex Luthor. Whoever he plays, Costner would be alongside Brit Henry Cavill , pegged to wear the Man of Steel tights in Snyder’s re-imagining. Fans recently got their first glimpse of “The Tudors” star on the cover of Entertainment Weekly sporting a T-shirt with the iconic Superman shield. Would you prefer to see Costner play a good guy or a villain? Sound off in the comments!
